[0052] Figure 1 The diagram illustrates the configuration of an electrolyte injection system 100 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 2 and Figure 3 A battery cell 200 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is shown.

[0053] Reference Figure 1 The electrolyte injection system 100 disclosed herein includes: an injection unit 20 for injecting electrolyte EL into the interior of an outer packaging material 250; an extraction unit 10 for extracting a portion of the electrolyte EL injected into the interior of the outer packaging material 250; a measuring unit 30 for measuring the weight of the outer packaging material 250 into which electrolyte EL has been injected; and a control unit 40 for controlling the injection unit and the extraction unit to adjust the amount of electrolyte EL located inside the outer packaging material 250 based on the weight of the outer packaging material 250 into which electrolyte EL has been injected.

[0054] In this embodiment, the electrolyte EL located inside the outer packaging material 250 can be the electrolyte that remains inside the outer packaging material 250 after the electrolyte is injected.

[0055] The control unit can control the injection unit, extraction unit, and measuring unit separately. The control unit can control the injection unit, extraction unit, and measuring unit simultaneously or separately. In other words, the control unit can control the injection unit, extraction unit, and measuring unit to inject electrolyte into the injection unit or extract electrolyte from the extraction unit.

[0056] The electrolyte injection system 100 of this disclosure can inject electrolyte EL into outer packaging material 250. The outer packaging material 250 can be the outer packaging material for a battery cell 200. (See reference...) Figure 2 According to this disclosure, the battery cell 200 may include: a body portion 210 for producing or storing electrical energy; and a tab portion 220 protruding to the outside of the body portion 210.

[0057] In order to generate and store electrical energy, an electrode assembly (not shown) may be included inside the body section 210. The electrode assembly includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a diaphragm.

[0058] On the other hand, the body portion 210 may also include an electrolyte that is in contact with the electrode assembly. The electrolyte may be a liquid electrolyte EL.

[0059] The main body 210 may also include an outer packaging material 250. The outer packaging material 250 may internally include electrode components and electrolyte EL.

[0060] Figure 2 An example of a pouch-shaped battery cell 200 is shown, but it is not limited thereto. Therefore, this disclosure is also applicable to prismatic and cylindrical battery cells 200.

[0061] On the other hand, the outer packaging material 250 may include a sealing portion 251. The sealing portion 251 may be formed along the corner of the outer packaging material 250. The outer packaging material 250 may be sealed along the sealing portion 251. In an embodiment, the outer packaging material 250 may include an upper cover 2501 and a lower cover 2502, which may be sealed along the sealing portion 251 to form an internal receiving space for receiving the electrode assembly.

[0062] Specifically, Figure 3 An example of the outer packaging material 250 during the manufacturing process of battery cell 200 is shown. (Refer to...) Figure 3 It can seal all corners except for one corner of the outer packaging material 250. Any unsealed corner is bendable. A portion of any unsealed corner of the outer packaging material 250 can be opened to form an opening 252. Electrolyte EL can be injected or extracted through the opening 252.

[0063] On the other hand, the accommodating space may include: a main chamber 253, which can be used to house the main body 210; and a gas chamber 254, in which gas is collected for discharge. The main chamber 253 and the gas chamber 254 may be in communication with each other. Therefore, the gas generated in the main chamber 253 can move to the gas chamber 254.

[0064] With the opening 252 facing upwards, the main chamber 253 is located at the lower end of the outer packaging material 250, and the gas chamber 254 can be located at the upper part of the main chamber 253. The gas chamber 254 can communicate with the outside through the opening 252. This structure allows for easy discharge of the gas generated in the main chamber 253.

[0065] The tab portion 220 may include a first tab portion 220a and a second tab portion 220b protruding from both sides of the body portion 210 in a direction away from the body portion 210. As an example, both tabs of the tab portion 220 may be located on one side. The first tab portion 220a and the second tab portion 220b may be a positive tab and a negative tab, respectively. The tab portion 220 may be located between the outer packaging material 250 and protrude to the outside.

[0066] The battery cell 200 may also include an insulating cover 230 that insulates the tab 220 from the outer packaging material 250. The insulating cover 230 may surround the tab 220 between the tab 220 and the outer packaging material 250 to prevent the tab 220 from contacting the outer packaging material 250.

[0067] Figures 4 to 7 A diagram illustrating the process of injecting electrolyte EL using an electrolyte injection system 100 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0068] Reference Figure 4 The injection section 20 can inject electrolyte EL into the outer packaging material 250. As described above, the outer packaging material 250 may include an opening 252 formed by sealing three sides and opening one side. The injection section 20 may be configured as a syringe or nozzle to inject electrolyte EL into the interior. Of course, it is not limited to this, and the injection section 20 may adopt the components used for injecting electrolyte EL. As an example, the injection section 20 may be a servo pump.

[0069] A predetermined capacity of electrolyte EL should be injected into the outer packaging material. This predetermined capacity can be referred to as the baseline value. The baseline value can represent the capacity set or designed by the user to achieve appropriate performance. The baseline value may include tolerances. That is, the baseline value can represent a value within a certain range with permissible error relative to a specific value.

[0070] Over-injection of electrolyte EL or under-injection of electrolyte EL can reduce the performance of battery cell 200. Therefore, setting the injection amount of electrolyte EL and actually injecting electrolyte EL according to the set injection amount is very important in maximizing the performance of battery cell 200.

[0071] Therefore, the electrolyte injection system 100 of this disclosure can inject electrolyte into the outer packaging material 250 and measure the weight of the outer packaging material 250 with injected electrolyte EL, and then adjust the amount of electrolyte EL inside the outer packaging material 250 based on the measured weight, so that the outer packaging material contains an appropriate amount of electrolyte EL.

[0072] The injection unit 20 can be configured to inject an amount of electrolyte EL equivalent to a reference value into the outer packaging material 250. However, malfunctions, equipment failures, or excessive splashing during the electrolyte EL injection process can lead to either over-injection or under-injection of electrolyte EL compared to the reference value.

[0073] Whether the electrolyte solution EL has been overfilled or underfilled can be determined by measuring the weight of the outer packaging material 250. The measuring unit 30 can measure the weight of the outer packaging material 250, including the electrolyte EL. The measuring unit 30 can be a scale. However, it is not limited to this; the measuring unit 30 can employ any component capable of measuring weight. In one embodiment, the measuring unit 30 can be integrated with the control unit 40.

[0074] The control unit 40 can control the injection unit and the extraction unit to adjust the amount of electrolyte EL injected into the outer packaging material 250 based on the weight of the outer packaging material 250 containing the injected electrolyte EL.

[0075] The control unit 40 can calculate the amount of electrolyte EL injected into the outer packaging material 250 based on the weight of the outer packaging material 250 after the electrolyte EL has been injected and the weight of the outer packaging material 250 before the electrolyte EL was injected.

[0076] The user can pre-input the weight of the outer packaging material 250 before injecting the electrolyte EL into the control unit 40. Alternatively, the weight of the outer packaging material 250 before injecting the electrolyte EL can be measured by the measuring unit.

[0077] The control unit 40 can determine whether an appropriate amount of electrolyte EL has been injected by comparing the weight of the outer packaging material 250 containing the injected electrolyte EL with a preset value. The preset value can be the sum of the weight of the outer packaging material 250 before electrolyte EL injection and a reference value. That is, if the weight of the outer packaging material 250 containing the injected electrolyte EL is equal to the sum of the weight of the outer packaging material 250 and the reference value, the control unit 40 can determine that an appropriate amount of electrolyte EL has been injected. Allowable error can be considered when determining whether it is equal.

[0078] Furthermore, the control unit 40 can compare the calculated value obtained by calculating the difference between the weight of the outer packaging material 250 after the electrolyte EL is injected and the weight of the outer packaging material 250 before the electrolyte EL is injected with a reference value. The weight of the outer packaging material 250 before the electrolyte EL is injected can be pre-input by the user. Alternatively, the weight of the outer packaging material 250 before the electrolyte EL is injected can be measured by the measuring unit 30.

[0079] That is, the control unit 40 can measure the amount of electrolyte EL injected into the outer packaging material by comparing the weight of the outer packaging material 250 with that without electrolyte. Then, the control unit 40 can compare the amount of electrolyte EL injected into the outer packaging material with a reference value.

[0080] If electrolyte EL splashes onto the outer packaging material 250 or if the injected volume is less than the preset capacity due to a malfunction, the calculated value will be lower than the baseline value. Conversely, if electrolyte EL is over-injected, the calculated value will be higher than the baseline value.

[0081] The control unit 40 can control the injection unit 20 to further inject electrolyte EL if the calculated value is less than a reference value. The amount of electrolyte EL further injected can be the difference between the reference value and the calculated value. The control unit 40 can control the injection unit to inject an amount of electrolyte EL equivalent to the difference between the reference value and the calculated value.

[0082] The control unit 40 can control the extraction unit 10 to extract the electrolyte EL if the calculated value is greater than the reference value. The amount of electrolyte EL extracted can be the difference between the reference value and the calculated value.

[0083] In another example, the amount of electrolyte EL extracted may be greater than the difference between the baseline value and the calculated value. If more electrolyte EL than the difference between the baseline value and the calculated value is extracted from the outer packaging material 250, the interior of the outer packaging material 250 will be in a state of electrolyte EL deficiency compared to the baseline value. Afterwards, the weight can be measured again and electrolyte EL can be injected.

[0084] In other words, the control unit 40 can measure the weight of the outer packaging material 250 containing the electrolyte EL and compare it with the weight of the outer packaging material 250 without the electrolyte EL to calculate a value, and then compare the calculated value with a reference value.

[0085] Subsequently, if the reference value differs from the calculated value, the difference between the reference value and the calculated value can be calculated, and the injection unit and the extraction unit can be controlled to inject or extract an amount of electrolyte EL equivalent to the difference between the reference value and the calculated value to adjust the amount of electrolyte EL injected into the outer packaging material 250.

[0086] In another example, the amount of electrolyte EL injected or extracted can be preset by the user. For instance, it could be 2% of the amount of electrolyte EL located inside the outer packaging material 250. This eliminates the need to calculate the difference between the weight of the outer packaging material 250 and a reference value, allowing for rapid injection of the electrolyte EL.

[0087] On the other hand, when further injection of electrolyte EL is needed to adjust the amount of electrolyte EL, a micro-injection unit (not shown) for micro-injection can be used. The micro-injection unit may be a component separately from the injection unit 20. Not limited thereto, the injection unit may have the function of micro-injecting electrolyte.

[0088] Specifically, Figure 5The figure shows the extraction unit 10 in a simplified manner. The extraction unit 10 can extract electrolyte EL by inserting a portion through the opening 252 of the outer packaging material 250. The extraction unit 10 may include: a nozzle 11 that is inserted into the outer packaging material 250 to move the electrolyte EL; and a motor 12 that extracts the electrolyte EL through the nozzle 11.

[0089] As an example, the nozzle section 11 can be configured in a nozzle shape. The shape of the nozzle section is not limited as long as it can extract electrolyte from one end.

[0090] In order for the extraction unit 10 to extract the electrolyte EL, the motor unit 12 can create a vacuum inside the nozzle unit 11. (See reference...) Figure 5 The motor unit 12 can be constructed separately from the nozzle unit 11.

[0091] In another embodiment, the motor portion 12 may be integrally formed with the nozzle portion 11. In other words, the nozzle portion 11 may be formed at one end of a main body and the motor portion 12 may be disposed inside the main body. Not limited thereto, the extraction portion 10 may employ a known configuration capable of extracting the electrolyte EL.

[0092] Therefore, the amount of electrolyte EL located inside the outer packaging material 250 can be reduced by extracting the electrolyte EL through the nozzle section 11. One end of the extraction section 10 can be immersed in the electrolyte EL to extract the electrolyte EL. This allows for efficient extraction. For example, the extraction section 10 can be a vacuum ejector.

[0093] Preferably, one end of the extraction section 10 may not be in contact with the electrode assembly. This is to prevent damage to the electrode assembly. Therefore, one end of the extraction section 10 may be located inside the outer packaging material 250 at a certain distance from the electrode assembly.

[0094] The extraction unit 10 may also include a guide 13 that pressurizes both sides of the opening 252 of the outer packaging material 250. The guide 13 can pressurize both sides of the opening 252 so that the inner side of the opening 252 comes into strong contact with the nozzle 11.

[0095] The guide portion 13 extends parallel to the extending direction of the opening 252 of the battery cell 200, and is respectively disposed on both sides of the opening 252. The opening 252 can extend to allow for effective injection of electrolyte. (Refer to...) Figure 4 and Figure 5 The opening can extend along the X-axis. The two sides of the opening 252 can face each other with respect to the opening as the center. The two sides of the opening 252 can represent the surfaces of one side of the opening that face the Y-axis.

[0096] That is, a pair of guides 13 are provided, which can move closer to or further away from each other. The guides 13 can pressurize the battery cell while moving closer to each other.

[0097] The opening 252 can be closed by the guide portion 13. During extraction, the electrolyte EL inside the outer packaging material 250 may splash out to the outside. To prevent the electrolyte EL from leaking out, the opening 252 can be closed by the guide portion 13 while the nozzle portion 11 is inserted into the outer packaging material 250.

[0098] In another embodiment, after the guide portion 13 contacts the outer packaging material 250, the pressurization pressure can be increased to suppress air movement between the inside and outside of the opening 252. Preferably, the guide portion 13 can block the movement of air between the inside and outside of the outer packaging material 250 through the opening 252. The guide portion 13 can be controlled by the control unit 40.

[0099] Specifically, Figure 6 and Figure 7 The state of the pressurized opening 252 of the guide section 13 is shown. (Refer to...) Figure 6 and Figure 7 The guide portion 13 can pressurize the opening 252 formed on the upper part of the outer packaging material 250. Thus, the guide portion 13 can close the opening 252.

[0100] When the nozzle portion 11 is inserted into the opening portion 252, the position of the guide portion 13 can overlap with the nozzle portion 11. In other words, the guide portion 13 can simultaneously pressurize the nozzle portion 11 and the outer packaging material 250.

[0101] Along the direction in which the opening 252 extends, the length of the guide portion 13 may be greater than or equal to the length of the opening 252. This is to cover the area of all openings in the opening 252 with the guide portion 13 to minimize the amount of splashed electrolyte.

[0102] The extraction unit 10 may also include an air blowing unit 14 that supplies gas to the nozzle unit 11. The air blowing unit 14 can supply strong air to the nozzle unit 11. The electrolyte EL located outside the nozzle unit 11 can be removed by the air supplied by the air blowing unit 14.

[0103] As will be described later, the nozzle section 11 can be immersed in the storage section 15 for storage. Here, the storage solution adhering to the outside of the nozzle section 11 can be removed by the air blowing section 14.

[0104] As an example, refer to Figure 5 The blowing section 14 can forcefully blow air towards the end of the nozzle section 11. This can dry the nozzle section 11 to evaporate the liquid located at the end of the nozzle section 11 or separate it from the nozzle section 11 by strong airflow.

[0105] On the other hand, the extraction unit 10 may also include a storage unit 15, with one end of the nozzle unit 11 immersed in and stored in the storage unit 15. The storage unit 15 may contain a storage solution. The storage solution may be ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. When not used in the extraction process, the nozzle unit 11 may be immersed in the storage solution disposed in the storage unit 15.

[0106] The nozzle section 11 is used for extraction, and the end of the nozzle section 11 can be coated with electrolyte EL. The electrolyte EL will solidify over time, causing damage to the nozzle section 11. Immersing the end of the nozzle section 11 in a storage solution can prevent the nozzle section 11 from becoming clogged due to the solidification of electrolyte EL.

[0107] The electrolyte EL injection method of this disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0108] Figures 8 to 10 A flowchart illustrating an electrolyte EL injection method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0109] Reference Figure 8 The electrolyte EL injection method disclosed herein includes: step S10 of injecting electrolyte EL into the outer packaging material 250; step S30 of measuring the injection amount of electrolyte EL based on the weight of the outer packaging material 250 after electrolyte EL injection and the weight of the outer packaging material 250 before electrolyte EL injection; and step S50 of adjusting the amount of electrolyte EL located inside the outer packaging material 250 based on the weight of the outer packaging material including the electrolyte.

[0110] The manufacturing method disclosed herein may perform a step S30 of measuring the amount of electrolyte EL injected after step S10 of injecting electrolyte EL into the outer packaging material 250.

[0111] The manufacturing method disclosed herein may include a step (not shown) of measuring the weight of the outer packaging material 250 before step S10 of injecting electrolyte EL into the outer packaging material 250.

[0113] The manufacturing method disclosed herein may, after step S30 of measuring the injected amount of electrolyte EL, perform step S50 of adjusting the amount of electrolyte located inside the outer packaging material based on the injected amount of electrolyte.

[0114] Step S50, which adjusts the amount of electrolyte EL located inside the outer packaging material 250, may also include a step (not shown) of further injecting electrolyte EL if the calculated value is less than a preset reference value.

[0115] Furthermore, step S50, which adjusts the amount of electrolyte EL located inside the outer packaging material 250, may also include a step of extracting electrolyte EL if the calculated value is greater than a preset reference value (not shown).

[0116] Refer again Figure 8 After step S50 of adjusting the amount of electrolyte, the electrolyte EL injection method of this disclosure can perform step S70 of calculating the difference between the weight of the outer packaging material 250 after adjusting the amount of electrolyte EL and the weight of the outer packaging material 250 before injecting electrolyte EL, and comparing it again with a preset reference value.

[0117] The step S70 of comparing the weight again may also include a step (not shown) of measuring the weight of the outer packaging material 250 with the amount of electrolyte EL adjusted.

[0118] The amount of electrolyte EL can be readjusted by comparing the difference between the weight of the outer packaging material 250 after adjusting the amount of electrolyte EL and the weight of the outer packaging material 250 before injecting electrolyte EL, and a preset reference value. In other words, if the difference between the weight of the outer packaging material 250 after adjusting the amount of electrolyte EL and the weight of the outer packaging material 250 before injecting electrolyte EL is greater than or less than the preset reference value, electrolyte EL can be injected or extracted again.

[0119] On the other hand, the step S50 of adjusting the electrolyte may also include step S53 of inserting at least a portion of the nozzle 11 into the opening 252 that is open on one side of the outer packaging material 250, and step S57 of moving the electrolyte EL by the motor 12.

[0120] The electrolyte injection method disclosed herein can perform step S57, which involves moving the electrolyte via motor unit 12, after step S53, where nozzle unit 11 is inserted into opening. Electrolyte can be extracted from inside the outer packaging material to outside the outer packaging material via motor unit 12.

[0121] Specifically, one end of the nozzle portion 11 is located after the opening portion 252, and the nozzle portion 11 can move downward in order to be inserted into the outer packaging material 250. The outer packaging material 250 contains electrolyte EL, so the opening portion 252 is located at the top, and the nozzle portion 11 moves downward to be inserted into the outer packaging material 250.

[0122] The injection method disclosed herein can perform step S55, where the guide section 13 pressurizes the opening 252 after the nozzle section 11 is inserted into the opening 252 and before the electrolyte EL moves through the motor section 12. Pressurization by the guide section 13 is to prevent the electrolyte EL from splashing out of the outer packaging material 250 or to create a vacuum by cutting off the inside and outside of the outer packaging material 250. Extraction can be easily performed under vacuum.

[0123] The electrolyte injection method disclosed herein can perform step S59, after extracting the electrolyte EL, to immerse one end of the moving nozzle 11 in the storage section 15 located outside the outer packaging material 250. The nozzle 11 can be immersed in the storage solution to prevent the electrolyte EL from solidifying and clogging the nozzle 11.

[0124] In one embodiment, the nozzle portion 11 can be reused. In this case, the nozzle portion 11 immersed in the storage portion 15 can be moved upwards towards the opening 252. The electrolyte injection method of this disclosure can perform step S51, in which the air blowing portion 14 supplies gas to the nozzle portion 11, before step S53, when the nozzle portion 11 is inserted into the opening 252. For example, the air blowing portion 14 can spray gas into the nozzle portion 11. The air blowing portion 14 can dry the nozzle portion 11 or remove the storage solution located outside the nozzle portion 11.

[0125] This disclosure can be implemented in various ways, and its scope of rights is not limited to the embodiments described above. Therefore, if a modified embodiment includes elements of this disclosure, it should be considered to fall within the scope of this disclosure.
