Abstract

An installation tool includes subassemblies that release the installation tool from the suspended pipeline suspension assembly in response to the application of alternating tensile and compressive forces after the application of a counter-clockwise torque. An installation tool includes subassemblies that position the suspended pipeline suspension assembly in response to a counter-clockwise torque followed by increased pressure and in response to increased pressure without previously applying a counter-clockwise torque. An installation tool includes threaded connections, without the torque transmitted through the Installation tool being transmitted through the threaded connections. A method of positioning a suspended pipeline suspension assembly includes applying a compressive force to the installation tool; then applying a counter-clockwise torque to the installation tool; and then applying a tensile force to the installation tool.A method of releasing a suspended pipeline suspension assembly includes applying a counter-clockwise torque to the installation tool and, subsequently, releasing the installation tool from the suspended pipeline suspension assembly by applying a tensile force to the installation tool.
