DOSE DETECTION SYSTEM COMPONENT FOR DRUG ADMINISTRATION DEVICE

Abstract

Dose sensing systems for medication delivery devices are described. One is a module for removably attaching to a dose knob of a medication delivery device. A device with a dose sensing system is also disclosed. The module includes a processor and a plurality of magnetic sensors, such as, for example, five or six sensors, which are operatively coupled to the processor and configured to sense the position of a rotating bipolar magnetic ring within the delivery device. A medication recognition system may also be provided.
