An assembly jig for handling a conveyor roller and a method of handling the conveyor roller

Abstract

The assembly jig (1) includes a lifting mechanism (4) and at least one clamp (2) for the removable attachment of the assembly jig (1) to the conveyor leg and the clamp (2) includes the closing mechanism (3) to grip the conveyor leg by the clamp (2). The lifting mechanism (4) includes a retractable base (5) to pick up the roller, a casing (9) and a threaded rod (8). The retractable base (5) is slide-fit in the casing (9) and the threaded rod (8) je attached in a rotating and non-sliding way with respect to the base (5). The casing (9) includes an inside thread, in which the threaded rod (8) is mounted, whereas the casing (9) is attached to the clamp (2). The lower end of the threaded rod (8) is provided with an adapter (10) to fit the tightening tool. The method of handling the conveyor roller includes the phase of installing the assembly jig (1) to the conveyor leg and the phase of picking up the roller and removing the roller from the recess in the conveyor leg.
