Description

[0001] The invention relates to a fastening device for a luggage stop bar in a motor vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0002] DE 195 21 862 A1 discloses a fastening device for decorative and cover strips that cover a gap in a vehicle. The holding body is secured in the gap by means of retaining elements that engage with clamping parts via dovetail joints. The retaining element clamps the cover strip at the top. A fastening device of the same design is known from the subsequently published DE 10 2011 000 809 A1, in which the cross member is made of an extruded profile.

[0003] The object of the invention is to provide a fastening device for a luggage stop bar in a motor vehicle which is easy to assemble and disassemble and can absorb a relatively high load in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.

[0004] This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1. Further advantageous features are contained in the subclaims.

[0005] The main advantages achieved by the invention are that the luggage stop bar is secure, highly resilient, and easy to attach via the fastening device. The luggage stop bar and the fastening device are lightweight and thus easy to install despite their high load-bearing capacity. This is achieved according to the invention in that the luggage stop bar is fastened with its free ends in a U-shaped receptacle of a holder, and the holders are arranged in a form-fitting manner in a stiffening, structurally stable cross member. The luggage stop bar, the holder, and the cross member are made of extruded aluminum parts.

[0006] In particular, it is provided that the holders each comprise a T-shaped guide web which is held inserted in a corresponding dovetail guide of the cross member.

[0007] For installation, the holder is inserted into the dovetail guide, and then the luggage stop bar is inserted with its free ends into the holder's U-shaped slot. This assembly sequence is simple and requires no special tools.

[0008] Furthermore, the invention provides for the T-shaped guide bar of the holder to be clamped in place by lateral embossing or clamping of the cross member in the area of the dovetail guide. These embossing of the dovetail guides in the cross member ensure a secure connection between the two components and prevent separation of the components under load.

[0009] Furthermore, the invention provides that the luggage stop bar can be connected to the brackets arranged at the ends via several fastening screws. The fastening screws are arranged next to one another in the longitudinal direction of the luggage stop bar and are covered by a cover. This connection of the bar to the support part not only creates a firm connection between the components, but also allows the screw connection to be loosened, for example, to facilitate engine access in a corresponding vehicle type.

[0010] An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawings and is described in more detail below.

[0011] They show: Fig. 1 a diagrammatic view of a part of the mounted luggage stop bar in the vehicle, Fig. 2 a cross section along the line II-II of the Fig. 1, through the luggage stop bar with holder and crossbar and Fig. 3 a longitudinal section along line III-III of the Fig. 1 through the luggage stop bar with holder and crossbar.

[0012] The fastening device 1 for a luggage stop bar 2 in a motor vehicle essentially comprises a holder 3 and a stiffening cross member 4 which is profiled.

[0013] The luggage stop bar 2 is preferably curved and its free ends 5 are inserted into a U-shaped receptacle 6 of the holder 3. The holders 3 are in turn arranged in the cross member 4.

[0014] The holder 3 comprises a T-shaped guide web 7, which is inserted into a corresponding dovetail guide 8 of the cross member 4 and held therein.

[0015] The holder 3 is secured in the dovetail guide 8 of the cross member 4 by means of embossings V or by clamping the cross member 4 in the area of the dovetail guide 8. Several embossings V, in this case three embossings V, are provided on each side. The embossing area is defined by Fig. 1 and marked with an x.

[0016] The connection of the components is ensured by the V stampings of the dovetail guide 8. The connection is loaded transversely to the profile with a force of approximately 1.4 t.

[0017] The connection of the luggage stop bracket 2 with the holder 3 in the U-shaped receptacle 6 is made via fastening screws 10, 11, which are arranged at the ends of the bracket 2 and which are symbolically marked by dash-dotted lines ( Fig.3). The screws 10, 11 are preferably arranged next to each other in the longitudinal direction of the bracket 2. The screw openings are covered by a cover.

[0018] The bolting of the bar 2 to the holder 3 via the two easily accessible fastening screws 10, 11 provides easy access for loosening the screw connection if necessary. The luggage stop bar 2, the holder 3, and the cross member 4 are made of extruded aluminum parts, but other materials and processes can also be used.

[0019] The cross member 4 is attached to the vehicle body and is designed to be one-dimensionally curved, over which the luggage stop bar 2 extends in a convex curve, so that in the longitudinal center axis of the vehicle, the bar 2 has the greatest distance from the cross member 4. Overall, the cross member 4 and the fastening device 1 are covered by a panel, so that only the luggage stop bar 2 is visible.
