Description

Background of the inventionTechnical field

[0001] The invention relates to a method for mounting a door locking / unlocking actuating device for locking / unlocking a vehicle door on an outer panel of a vehicle door. State of the art

[0002] As defined in JP H08 - 35 360 A and the Fig. 19 and Fig. As shown in Figure 20, a so-called direct key cylinder 740 is conventionally known as one type of key cylinder mounted on a vehicle door. The direct key cylinder 740 has a transmission shaft portion 742 extending directly to a door lock mechanism on the vehicle body side. Through a turning operation performed by a key (not shown) inserted into a key insertion hole 741, the direct key cylinder 740 switches between a door locking and unlocking position by directly transmitting the turning operation force to the door lock mechanism.

[0003] However, when such a direct lock cylinder 740 is mounted on a vehicle door, a procedure described below is generally carried out. (1) First, a large bracket 730 for fixing both ends of a door handle from the inside of the vehicle door is mounted to the outer panel of the vehicle door. (2) Next, a base 750, a door handle 720, and a lock cylinder 740 (to which a lock cylinder cover 710 has already been mounted) are mounted on the carrier 730 mounted on the inside of the vehicle door from the outside of the vehicle door. Thus, the outer panel 120 of the vehicle door is sandwiched between the large carrier 730 on the inside of the vehicle and the parts 750, 720, 740 (including 710) on the outside of the vehicle. (3) Finally, the parts 720 and 740 located on the vehicle exterior and the support 730 located on the vehicle interior are fastened and fixed together by fasteners such as screws. Thus, all parts 720, 730, and 740 (710), and 750 are mounted on the outer panel 120 so as to sandwich the outer panel 120 therebetween.

[0004] German patent application DE 10 2004 001 894 A1 discloses an actuating device for doors or flaps on vehicles, comprising a tower, which has either a locking cylinder or a styling dummy, and which can be mounted or dismounted in a carrier on which a slide is mounted by means of a locking movement. The locking movement comprises an insertion phase and a displacement phase during assembly. In particular, this document discloses a rocker arm pivotally mounted in the carrier, wherein the rocker arm has a control cam and a pressure surface to improve the pull-out strength of the mounted tower. This document deals with the assembly or disassembly of a tower comprising a locking cylinder in a carrier fastened to the inside of the vehicle door. Regarding the carrier 10, this document merely states that it is fastened inside a door 50 from the inside of the door, which is not shown in detail (

[0022] ).The slider 20 of the document, which most closely corresponds to the movable support (3) of the invention in terms of displaceability, is structurally connected to the support 10 and guided therein for longitudinal displacement (

[0022] ). This document therefore does not disclose that a support is provisionally mounted directly on the outer panel at a provisional assembly completion position and integrated with the outer panel: the slider 20 is not mounted and even less integrated; it merely rests against the outer panel - due to the guidance in the support 10. Furthermore, this document only shows a movement of the slider 20, mediated by a rocker lever 23, from an "unlocking position 20.1" to a "locking position 20.2" corresponding to the final slider position (

[0022] ). Fig. 3 and Fig. 9). The document therefore does not disclose the movement of the support from a provisional initial assembly position, in which it is in contact with the inner surface of the sheet metal, into a provisional assembly completion position, which according to the invention does not correspond to the final assembly completion position (description,

[0095] ). German Offenlegungsschrift DE 103 60 175 A1 discloses an actuating device for doors or flaps on vehicles, comprising a support to be fastened in the door frame, on which a slider is displaceable between a locking position and an unlocking position in order to lock a tower to be inserted into an opening in the support in the desired insertion position. The actuating device for doors or flaps on vehicles in this document originates from the same applicant as DE 10 2004 001 894 A1, but with an earlier filing date. The document therefore also discloses a support 10, which is fastened inside the door. The slider 30 of the document, which most closely corresponds to the movable support (3) of the invention in terms of displaceability, is structurally connected to the support 10 and guided therein for longitudinal displacement along the guide planks 17 (

[0017] ). However, the slider 30 of the document corresponds to the support (3) only insofar as it is in contact with the inner surface of the outer panel of the vehicle door interior. The slider 30 of the document is not integrated with the outer panel to fulfill a supporting function like the support (3) according to the invention, but merely rests against the outer panel due to the supporting function of the support 10, consistent with the description of this document (

[0018] ): "The slider 30 serves to lock the inserted position of the tower 20 in the support 10." The document therefore does not disclose that the support is provisionally mounted directly on the outer panel at a provisional assembly completion position and integrated with the outer panel. As already explained with reference to DE 10 2004 001 894 A1, this document also shows a movement of the slide 30 from an “unlocking position 30.1” into a “locking position 30.2” corresponding to the final slide position (. Fig. 1 and Fig. 6). The document therefore does not disclose the movement of the carrier from a provisional initial assembly position, in which it is in contact with the inner surface of the sheet metal, to a provisional assembly completion position, which, according to the invention, does not correspond to the intermediate assembly completion position (description,

[0095] ). The subject matter of claim 1 is therefore novel over the document.

[0005] German patent application DE 100 46 717 A1 discloses a locking device for a vehicle door, which has a bearing bracket arranged on the inside of the vehicle door for securing a door handle and a locking cylinder, wherein the locking cylinder is connected to an actuating tab that can be pivoted against the pressure of a return spring. The bearing bracket 2, which accommodates the locking cylinder 5 by means of a clipped-on actuating tab 8, lies directly on the outer panel 4 in such a way that it is in contact with an inner surface of the outer area ( Fig. 1), but no displacement processes occur. The locking cylinder of the document is also different from the locking cylinder according to the invention, as it does not have an integrated transmission shaft section extending to a locking mechanism on one side of the vehicle body. The locking cylinder of this document utilizes an actuation connected to one end of a rod or a Bowden cable, the other end of which is operatively connected to the door lock. The subject matter of claim 1 of the present invention is therefore novel compared to the document.

[0006] US Patent Application Publication US 2012 / 0119525 A1 discloses a method for assembling a handle in a panel. This document is even further removed from the present invention with regard to the features disclosed.

[0007] German patent application DE 199 50 172 A1 discloses a method for assembling a handle in a sheet metal part of an opening section of a motor vehicle. This document, too, is even further removed from the present invention with regard to the disclosed features. Summary of the inventionTechnical problems

[0008] However, a case such as the one described above suffers from a problem that weight reduction is hindered because the carrier 730 is large. On the other hand, the actual assembly of the carrier 730 is carried out as described below. In a state where a trim panel covering the vehicle interior is attached to the vehicle door, a worker inserts his hand into an opening provided in the trim panel. Then, he feels for a mounting position with his hand. When he finds the mounting position, he installs the carrier 730 with his hand inserted into the opening. In addition, the opening into which his hand is inserted may not be exactly opposite the mounting position for the carrier 730, but may be slightly misaligned with the mounting position. Therefore, he must insert his hand quite deeply into the opening to work. The assembly of the carrier is carried out with both the carrier and its mounting position less visible.Consequently, work feasibility is significantly inefficient, and there is a need to improve work feasibility.

[0009] The object of the invention is to provide a method for mounting a door locking / unlocking actuating device for locking / unlocking a vehicle door on an outer panel of a vehicle door, which enables an overall weight reduction and facilitates an assembly process for a locking cylinder. Solution to the problem and advantageous effects of the invention

[0010] To solve the foregoing problems, the invention provides a method of mounting a door locking / unlocking actuator for locking / unlocking a vehicle door to an outer panel of a vehicle door according to claim 1.

[0011] Lock cylinder components for a vehicle door include at least the carrier and the lock cylinder described above.

[0012] According to the configuration, instead of a large beam extending between both ends of a door handle, a beam is provided for each of the sheet metal openings provided at both ends of the door handle. Consequently, the size of each beam can be reduced, achieving a significant reduction in weight.

[0013] Furthermore, in the door locking / unlocking device, the bracket may have a shape that allows the bracket to be guided through the panel opening at least from the vehicle exterior to the interior. As a result, the bracket can be installed from the vehicle exterior to the outer panel, thus improving the workability of the installation. For example, a bracket itself and a mounting position for the bracket can be simultaneously checked by looking through an opening on the lock cylinder side from the vehicle exterior. Consequently, the installation process can be greatly simplified compared to a conventional one. Best mode for carrying out the invention

[0014] With reference to the drawings, an embodiment of a door locking / unlocking operating device will be described below.

[0015] A door locking / unlocking operating device 1 according to this embodiment is a locking / unlocking operating device for a vehicle door 102, by which the vehicle door 102 mounted on a vehicle (here, an automobile) so as to be capable of opening / closing as shown in Fig. 1, is locked / unlocked by a corresponding key operation. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the vehicle door 102 includes an inner panel 8 located on the vehicle interior (vehicle body side) and an outer panel 2 located on the vehicle exterior, and has a cavity 82 between this outer panel 2 and the inner panel 8. Of the outer panel 2 and the inner panel 8, the door locking / unlocking operating device 1 is mounted on the outer panel 2. Furthermore, the door locking / unlocking operating device 1, together with a door handle 72 and a lock cylinder cover 71 mounted on the same outer panel 2 to which the device 1 itself is mounted, constitutes a vehicle door opening / closing operating device 10.

[0016] As in the Fig. 1 to 4, the door lock / unlock operating device 1 includes the outer panel 2 having a panel opening 2H through which one of the ends 72A and 72B of the door handle 72 for the vehicle door 102 is inserted from the vehicle outside; a bracket 3 disposed on the vehicle inside and on the peripheral portion 2A of the panel opening 2H so as to contact the inner surface 2b of the outer panel 2; and a key cylinder 4 fixed to the bracket 3 with the outer panel 2 sandwiched therebetween.

[0017] The locking cylinder 4 is a so-called direct locking cylinder, which, as in Fig. 3, comprises a cylinder body 40 having a key insertion hole 41 and a transmission shaft portion 42 extending straight on the side opposite to the key insertion hole 41 and configured to directly transmit the movement for locking / unlocking the vehicle door 102 by a predetermined locking / unlocking operation for a corresponding key 400 inserted into the key insertion hole 41 to a door locking mechanism 104 on the vehicle side.In this case, when the key 400 corresponding to the key insertion hole 41 is inserted and subjected to a locking / unlocking operation (rotation operation) such that the key 400 is rotated around the axis extending in the direction of key insertion, the rotation rotates the transmission shaft portion 42 around the axis, and the rotational movement is directly transmitted to the inner portion of the door lock mechanism 104 on the vehicle side, which is connected to the front end of the transmission shaft portion 42.

[0018] The door lock mechanism 104 according to the embodiment is a known one corresponding to the direct key cylinder 4. Here, this mechanism 104 is a drive mechanism that drives a lock engagement portion 104A forward / backward through the rotational movement of the transmission shaft portion 42 about the axis, which is associated with the locking / unlocking operation performed by the key 400. By driving the lock engagement portion 104A forward / backward in the closed state of the vehicle door 102, switching occurs between the state of being engaged with a lock engagement receiving portion 101A (the locked state of the vehicle door 102) on the vehicle side and the state of being disengaged from this portion 101A (the unlocked state of the vehicle door 102).Specifically, when the key 400 undergoes a locking operation, the lock engagement portion 104A drives forward and switches to the state of being engaged (locked) with the lock engagement receiving portion 101A. Conversely, when the key 400 undergoes an unlocking operation, the lock engagement portion 104A drives backward and switches to the state of being disengaged (unlocked) from the lock engagement receiving portion 101A.

[0019] The mechanism body (not shown) of the door locking mechanism 104 is housed in a housing 140. The space in the housing 140 is separated from the interior space 82 defined in the vehicle door 102.

[0020] In addition, the support 3 in this embodiment has a shape that allows the support 3 to be guided through the opening 2H of the outer panel 2 at least from the vehicle outer side to the vehicle inner side (in addition, the support 3 here has a shape that allows the support 3 to pass through from the vehicle inner side to the vehicle outer side) as in Fig. 7. In this way, the bracket 3 can be mounted to the outer panel 2 from the outside of the vehicle door 102 without opening the vehicle door 102, thus providing excellent workability during assembly. However, the shape of the bracket 3 is not limited to one that allows the bracket to pass through the opening 2H.

[0021] In this embodiment described above, at least the foregoing bracket 3 and the lock cylinder 4 are provided as vehicle door lock cylinder parts to be assembled, and these parts 3 and 4 are mounted on the outer panel 2 of the vehicle door 102, thereby constituting the door locking / unlocking operating device (vehicle door locking operating device) 1. Finally, by mounting the door handle 72 and the lock cylinder cover 71 on these parts 3 and 4, the vehicle door opening / closing operating device 10 is constituted.

[0022] Furthermore, in this embodiment, while the bracket 3 is mounted on the vehicle interior and the peripheral portion 2A of the opening 2H of the outer panel 2, a washer 5 is mounted as an insertion member on the vehicle exterior. The key cylinder 4 is mounted on the outer panel 2 via this washer 5 serving as an insertion member. Specifically, the key cylinder 4 is fixed to the bracket 3 so that the outer panel 2 is sandwiched between the bracket 3 and the key cylinder 4. The washer 5 may be omitted. However, in this embodiment, the washer 5 is also included as a vehicle door key cylinder part to be assembled.

[0023] Next, mounting structures and mounting methods for the vehicle door lock cylinder parts 3, 4 and 5 according to the embodiment and the vehicle door outer panel 2 102 to which these parts 3, 4 and 5 are mounted will be described.

[0024] First, the outer panel 2 of the vehicle door 102 is described.

[0025] As in the Fig. 5A and Fig. 5B, the outer panel 2 has the above-mentioned opening 2H. The opening 2H may consist of only one opening portion (an opening portion on the key cylinder mounting side) 24H for mounting the key cylinder 4. However, here, the opening 2H extends from the opening portion 24H to another opening portion (an opening portion on the door handle mounting side) 27H for mounting one end 72A of the door handle 72 for opening / closing the vehicle door 102, and is therefore formed of these integrated opening portions 24H and 27H.More specifically, the opening 2H here includes, in order from the opening portion 24H, the following: a first end side opening portion 2H1 (24H) having the smallest opening width; an intermediate opening portion 2H2 (24H) having a larger opening width than that of the first end side opening portion 2H1; and a second end side opening portion 2H3 (27H) having a much larger opening width than that of the first end side opening portion 2H1.

[0026] First, the support 3 is temporarily mounted to this outer sheet 2.

[0027] As in the Fig. 6A and Fig. 6B, the carrier 3 includes a carrier body 3A having a ring shape formed around the carrier opening 3H. Here, the carrier body 3A has a ring shape including: a contact portion 3N disposed in contact (face-to-face contact) with the opening peripheral portions 2A1 and 2A2 of the opening regions 2H1 and 2H2 of the opening 2H, respectively, and surrounding the three sides of the carrier opening 3H; and a connecting portion 3L disposed opposite the opening region 2H1 side of the opening region 2H2 and surrounding the remaining side of the carrier opening 3H, so that both ends of the contact portion 3N are connected.

[0028] In order to temporarily fix the support 3 to the outer sheet 2, as shown in Fig. 7, first, the carrier 3 is guided from the vehicle exterior to the vehicle interior through the opening 2H of the outer panel 2, and ensured that it reaches the vehicle interior with respect to the outer panel 2 (in the state after the carrier 3 is passed through). The direction or position of the carrier 3 during its passage through the opening 2H is not limited to the Fig. 7. As long as the carrier 3 can be guided through the opening 2H, the carrier 3 can be oriented in any direction or can change its direction or position during its passage.

[0029] After that, the support 3 moved to the inside of the vehicle outer panel 2 is brought into a provisional initial assembly state (see the Fig. 8A and Fig. 8B) by bringing this bracket 3 into face-to-face contact with the panel inner surface 2b (the panel surface that is the vehicle interior side of the outer panel 2) of the opening peripheral portion 2A of the opening 2H from the vehicle interior side. At this time, the outer panel 2 and the bracket 3 are in contact with each other at the predetermined provisional assembly start position where the opening 2H and the bracket opening 3H overlap.

[0030] In this state, the carrier 3 is pushed in a predetermined provisional assembly direction (see the Fig. 8E and Fig. 8F). This displacement ensures that the beam 3 reaches a predetermined provisional assembly completion position and is thereby brought into a provisional assembly completion state (see the Fig. 8C and Fig. 8D). Here, the provisional mounting direction refers to the direction extending in the longitudinal direction of the opening 2H from the opening portion 27H side to the opening portion 24H side.

[0031] This temporary fixation allows the locking cylinder 4 to be inserted and mounted while the carrier 3 is temporarily held fixed to the outer panel 2, which consequently facilitates the assembly.

[0032] However, here, the support 3 and the outer panel 2 are temporarily assembled together so that they can be detached from each other. Specifically, after the temporary assembly is completed, the support 3 can be detached from the outer panel 2 by sliding it in the direction opposite to the temporary assembly direction and returning it to the initial temporary assembly state.

[0033] As in the Fig. 8A to 8D, the carrier 3 has provisional mounting portions 3M, which enable a provisional mounting state for the outer panel 2. As shown in the Fig. 8G and Fig. As shown in Fig. 8H, each provisional mounting portion 3M is associated with a protruding pawl portion 3M, which includes: an intermediate protruding portion 3Mb protruding through the opening 2H of the outer panel 2 from the support body 3A, which is disposed in contact with the vehicle interior in the provisional mounting completion position of the support 3; and a pawl portion 3Ma disposed on the front end side of the intermediate protruding portion 3Mb and in contact with the panel outer surface 2a of the opening peripheral portion 2A. The pawl portion 3Ma extends toward the outer panel 2 on the side opposite to the contact surface of the support body 3A with the opening peripheral portion 2A (23A).Thereby, the carrier 3 arranges the outer panel 2 between the front and rear sides of the carrier 3 in the direction of contact of the carrier 3 with the outer panel 2, and effects a holding state (provisional fitting state) in which the outer panel 2 is prevented from being separated and falling off forward or backward in the direction of contact.

[0034] In addition, the carrier 3 here approaches the panel inner surface 2b from the vehicle interior to be arranged at the provisional assembly start position with respect to the opening peripheral portion 2A of the outer panel 2. As the approach continues, the carrier body 3A finally contacts the panel inner surface 2b. At this time, the protruding pawl portion 3M approaches the outer panel 2 while protruding toward the panel inner surface 2b. However, as shown in the Fig. 5A and Fig. As shown in FIG. 5B, the opening 2H in the outer panel 2 has pawl access opening portions 23H, each of which receives an approaching corresponding protruding pawl portion 3M without blocking it, and causes the pawl part 3Ma to approach the panel outer surface 2a located on the opposite side of the panel inner surface 2b. That is, the provisional assembly initial state refers to the state in which the support body 3A is in contact with the panel inner surface 2b of the opening peripheral portion 2A of the outer panel 2, and each protruding pawl portion 3M has reached the panel outer surface 2a side through the corresponding pawl access opening portion 23H.

[0035] Here, the protruding pawl portions 3M include protruding pawl portions 3M1 located in the provisional assembly direction and protruding pawl portions 3M2 located opposite to the provisional assembly direction. In the outer panel 2, the opening 2H has pawl access opening areas 23H1 and 23H2 corresponding to the protruding pawl portions 3M1 and 3M2, and the opening peripheral portion 2A has opening peripheral parts 23A1 and 23A2 with which the pawl parts 3Ma of the protruding pawl portions 3M1 and 3M2 come into contact in the provisional assembly completion position of the carrier 3.

[0036] As in the Fig. 8G and Fig. 8H, here in the carrier 3, the protruding pawl portions (contact parts) 3M1 (3Mb) and 3M2 (3Mc) are positionally defined so that they contact the respective inner wall surfaces 2x1 and 2x2 of the opening areas 2H1 and 2H3 in the provisional assembly initial position.

[0037] As in the Fig. 8G and Fig. 8H, furthermore, here in the bracket 3, the projecting pawl portions (contact parts) 3M1 (3Mb) and 3M2 (3Mc) are positionally defined so as to contact the respective inner wall surfaces 2y2 and 2y0 of the opening portions 2H1 and 2H3 in the provisional assembly completion position.

[0038] If, as in the Fig. 8G and Fig. 8H, when the carrier 3 is shifted between the provisional assembly start position and the provisional assembly completion position, the projecting pawl portions (sliding parts) 3M1 (3Mb) and 3M2 (3Mb, 3Mc) are guided to slide over the inner wall surfaces 2x1, 2x2, and 2x3 of the opening portions 2H1, 2H2, and 2H3, respectively.

[0039] Next, the mounting of the base 5 with respect to the outer sheet 2 to which this support 3 has been provisionally mounted is described.

[0040] As in the Fig. 9A and Fig. 9B, the pad 5 includes an annular pad body 5A having a pad opening 5H provided at its center. The pad 5 is mounted in such a manner that, while the pad body 5A is brought into contact (face-to-face contact) with the sheet metal outer surface 2a of the opening peripheral portion 2A of the entire opening 2H from the vehicle outside so that the pad opening 5H overlaps with the opening 2H, the mounting portions 5M are rotated so as to come into contact (face-to-face contact) with the sheet metal inner surface 2b of the opening peripheral portion 2A from the vehicle inside.

[0041] As with the above 3M latch sections, here each mounting section is 5M, as shown in the Fig. 12 and Fig. 13, a protruding pawl portion 5M having a protruding intermediate portion 5Mb and a pawl portion 5Ma at its front end side. The pad 5 is pressed into the opening 2H from the vehicle exterior side, so that it deforms the pawl portion 5Ma side of the protruding pawl portion 5M in the direction into the opening 2H. Due to the springback of the pawl portion 5Ma that has reached the panel inner surface 2b side, the pawl portion 5Ma expands toward and comes into contact with the panel inner surface 2b of the opening peripheral portion 2A. Consequently, the pad 5 is directly mounted on the outer panel 2, so that the outer panel 2 is sandwiched between the pad body 5A and the pawl portion 5Ma from the inside and outside.

[0042] As in the Fig. 12 and Fig. 13, the base 5 is positioned and mounted here by the projecting pawl sections 5M (5M1, 5M3) and the projecting sections 5L (see Fig. 9C) with the inner wall surfaces 2z0 (see Fig. 12), 2z2 (see Fig. 9C), and 2z3 (see Fig. 13) of the opening 2H.

[0043] As in the Fig. 9C and Fig. Here, as shown in Fig. 9D, the pad 5 is formed as follows: when the repositioning of the bracket 3 to a final assembly completion position takes place after it is mounted to the opening peripheral portion 2A of the outer panel 2, the pad 5 does not have any parts located adjacent to the area extending toward the repositioning direction of the bracket 3 whose provisional assembly is completed, so as not to obstruct the repositioning. For example, the provisional assembly portions 3M (3M1 and 3M2) of the bracket 3 are provided in a pair on either side of the opening 2H in the opening width direction. However, the pad 5 is formed so that the repositioning direction of the provisional assembly portions 3M (3M1, 3M2) extends into the opening 5H.

[0044] Next, a description is given of the mounting of the locking cylinder 4 on the outer panel 2, to which the carrier 3 and the base 5 have been mounted.

[0045] As in the Fig. 10A and Fig. 10B, the transmission shaft portion 42, which is located opposite to the key insertion hole 41, is inserted into the hole 2H of the outer panel 2 starting from the front end of the transmission shaft portion 42 so as to extend from the vehicle exterior to the interior thereof, so that the key cylinder 4 is finally provisionally arranged with respect to the base 3. Here, the base 3 and the pad 5 have already been mounted in the hole portion 24H on the key cylinder mounting side of the hole 2H of the outer panel 2 so that the holes 3H and 5H overlap. Therefore, the key cylinder 4 is arranged to be inserted from the vehicle exterior to the interior thereof through all of these holes 24H, 3H, and 5H. At this stage, the key cylinder 4 has not yet been fixed to the base 3.

[0046] The lock cylinder 4 here includes the cylinder body 40, which extends in a columnar shape (here, cylindrical shape) in the opposite direction from the key insertion opening 41. The transmission shaft portion 42 extends in a shaft shape (here, straight) from the central part of the end surface of the cylinder body 40, with the end located opposite the key insertion opening 41, so that it has a diameter not smaller than the body 40.

[0047] Here, the lock cylinder 4 has flange portions (contact positioning portions) 4F extending (radially outward) in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the cylinder body 40 extends (the axial direction). Specifically, the lock cylinder 4 has, as the flange portions 4F, a flange portion 4F1 extending in the provisional fitting direction of the bracket 3 from the cylinder body 40 whose transmission shaft portion 42 has been inserted into the opening portion 2H2 of the outer panel 2, and a flange portion 4F2 extending opposite to the provisional fitting direction. These flange portions 4F1 and 4F2 are portions disposed in contact with the opening peripheral portion 2A1 of the opening portion 2H1 and the connecting portion 3L of the bracket 3 in the insertion direction, and, on the other hand, contact the base 5 and the bracket 3 in the opening width and length directions. The provisional arrangement position (insertion completion position) of the inserted lock cylinder 4 is defined by these sections.

[0048] As in the Fig. 11C and Fig. As shown in Fig. 12, the base 5 has a protruding pawl portion 5K provided with: an intermediate protruding portion 5Kb protruding toward the side opposite to the contact surface of the base body 5A with the bracket 3 from the vehicle outside when the base 5 and the bracket 3 have been assembled together; a pawl portion 5Ka located on the front end side of the intermediate protruding portion 5Kb and in contact with the panel inner surface 2a. The flange portion 4F1 contacts the intermediate protruding portion 5Kb of the pawl protruding portion 5K in the direction opposite to the provisionally assembling direction of the bracket 3, and also contacts the pawl portion 5Ka from the vehicle outside. Specifically, the flange portion 4F1 is hooked between the pawl portion 5Ka and the base body 5A.That is, the protruding pawl portion 5K serves as a positioning portion that defines the provisional arrangement position (insertion completion position) of the lock cylinder 4 in this hooked state, and also serves as a cylinder separation prevention portion that prevents the positioned lock cylinder 4 from being separated in the direction opposite to the direction in which the lock cylinder 4 is inserted. This hooked state is a provisionally mounted state and can be easily released by sliding the lock cylinder 4 in the provisionally mounted direction of the bracket 3.

[0049] The locking cylinder 4 is arranged so (see the Fig. 11A and Fig. 11B) that the flange portion 4F2 is in contact with the protruding pawl portion (the contact part) 3M2 (see the Fig. 9A and Fig. 9B) on the side of the connecting portion 3L of the bracket 3 in the provisional arrangement position (insertion completion position) so as to be oriented outward in the direction of the width of the opening and in the direction opposite to the provisional mounting direction of the bracket 3.

[0050] As in the Fig. 15A, 15B, and 17A to 18B, the key cylinder 4 here has separation prevention contact portions 4P for preventing the key cylinder 4 arranged in the provisional arrangement position (insertion completion position) from being separated in the direction opposite to the insertion direction of the key cylinder 4. On the other hand, the carrier 3 has separation blocking portions (drop-off blocking portions) 3R that contact the separation prevention contact portions 4P of the key cylinder 4 in the provisional arrangement position and block the separation of the key cylinder 4 in the direction opposite to the insertion direction of the key cylinder 4.

[0051] The separation prevention contact portions 4P are projecting end portions 4P (see the Fig. 10A and Fig. 10B) projecting outward from both sides of the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder body 40 in the direction of the width of the opening. On the other hand, the carrier 3 has projection receiving portions 3P (see the Fig. 6A and Fig. 6B) serving as insertion guide portions that, when the key cylinder 4 is inserted and installed, guide the insertion to guide the protruding portions 4P by cramming the protruding portions 4P on the provisional assembly direction side and the opposite side thereto. The protrusion receiving portions 3P are formed as recessed portions 3P in the peripheral portion 3A of the opening 3H of the bracket 3 in the provisional assembly completion state of the outer panel 2 so that the opposing inner wall surfaces recede outward in the width direction of the opening 3H. That is, the recessed portions 3P are formed in the opening peripheral part 3A2 of the bracket 3, which is arranged in contact with the opening peripheral part 2A2 of the outer panel 2.In addition, projection receiving portions 2P and 5P (insertion guide portions) (see FIG. 1 ) are also formed in the opening peripheral part 2A2 of the outer panel 2 and the opening peripheral part 5A2 of the base 5 mounted on this outer panel 2 and arranged in contact with the opening peripheral part 2A2. Fig. 9A and Fig. 9B) at the same positions as projection receiving portions 3P of the carrier 3 in the provisional assembly completion state in the form of recesses through which the corresponding projecting portions 4P can be guided during insertion of the lock cylinder 4.

[0052] As described below, after the lock cylinder 4 is brought into the provisional assembly state, the bracket 3 is moved by sliding again from the provisional assembly completion position to a predetermined assembly completion position (final sliding movement). At this time, only the bracket 3 is displaced from the remaining lock cylinder 4, the outer panel 2, and the base 5. Consequently, the projection receiving portions 3P are also displaced from the projection receiving portions 2P and 5P and are released from overlapping with them in the insertion direction. Instead, the opening peripheral part 3A2 (3R) adjacent to the projection receiving portion 3P overlaps, so that the projection receiving portions 2P and 5P are covered in the form of recesses by the opening peripheral part 3A2 in the insertion direction. That is, the protruding portions 4P serve as separation blocking portions 3R that contact the opening peripheral part 3A2 in the direction opposite to the insertion direction due to the final sliding movement of the carrier 3, and block the separation of the lock cylinder 4 in the direction opposite to the insertion direction. Here, the separation preventing blocking portions 3R are parts of the opening peripheral part 3A2 and are portions adjacent to the protrusion receiving portions 3P in the final sliding movement direction.

[0053] Next, the door handle 72 and the Fig. 1 and Fig. 4 shown lock cylinder cover 71 is mounted.

[0054] As in the Fig. 13 and Fig. As shown in Fig. 14, the lock cylinder cover 71 is mounted in contact with the outer panel 2 (which has the lock cylinder 4, the carrier 3, and the base 5 already mounted) to cover the opening portion 24H of the outer panel 2 from the vehicle exterior, so that the key insertion hole 41 of the lock cylinder 4 is exposed from an opening 71H provided for exposing the key insertion hole in the provisionally mounted state (before the final sliding movement). Here, an outer peripheral portion 71A (see Fig. 14B) is mounted on the back to the annular base 5, so that a cylindrical part 71AH (see Fig. 14B) on the back is in contact with the circumference of the key insertion opening 41 of the lock cylinder 4.

[0055] As for the door handle 72, as shown in the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, one end 72A is inserted into the opening 72H of the key cylinder cover 71 mounted on the opening portion 24H side of the outer panel 2, and the other end 72B is inserted into an opening (not shown) provided separately from the opening 2H of the outer panel 2. In order to allow the door handle 72 to pivot (rotate) about the other end 72B and be pulled upward toward the vehicle exterior when the door handle 72 is operated to open / close the door, the other end 72B is mounted to the outer panel 2 so that it is capable of pivoting (rotating), and one end 72A is mounted to the outer panel 2 to allow a predetermined stroke in the direction in which the door handle 72 is pulled upward. Here, the one end 72A is mounted to the outer panel 2 via the key cylinder cover 71. As shown in FIGS. Fig. 15A and Fig. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 15B, one end 72A of the door handle 72 is connected and mounted to one end 731 of a pivot member 73 pivotally fixed to a shaft portion 71C fixed to the fixing portion 71B on the rear side of the key cylinder cover 71, to enable the above-mentioned stroke. On the other hand, when the door handle 72 is pulled upward, the other end 733 of the pivot member 73 connects to a known door opening / closing mechanism (not shown), by which the vehicle door 102 with the door handle 72 mounted thereon is switched from a state in which no opening operation is permitted to a state in which an opening operation is permitted.

[0056] The assembly of the door handle 72 and the connection of the door handle 72 to the door opening / closing mechanism (not shown) utilize known techniques and structures. Therefore, detailed descriptions thereof are omitted.

[0057] The lock cylinder cover 71 is positioned and mounted by a positioning portion 71S which is positioned with respect to the carrier 3 and / or the lock cylinder 4 and / or the base 5 and / or the outer panel 2. As shown in the Fig. 16A, Fig. 16B and Fig. 13, the positioning portion 71S is positioned and fixed such that a protruding portion 4S in the shape of a circular truncated cone, whose diameter becomes smaller from the flange portion 4F (4F2) in the direction opposite to the insertion direction, is compressed into a cylindrical protrusion receiving portion 71S on the back side of the lock cylinder cover 71 (in the insertion direction).

[0058] After the lock cylinder 71 is arranged in a positioned state as described above (here the door handle 72 is also arranged as described above), the carrier 3 is finally moved by sliding.

[0059] The final sliding movement of the carrier 3 here refers to a movement by a displacement in the direction opposite to the provisional assembly direction of the carrier 3. The completion position for the final sliding position, that is, an assembly completion position, is between the provisional assembly start position (see the Fig. 8A and Fig. 8B) and the provisional assembly completion position (see the Fig. 8C and Fig. 8D). That is, since the bracket 3 does not reach the provisional assembly start position due to the final sliding movement, the bracket 3 is prevented from falling off the outer panel 2. That is, the bracket 3, which has reached the assembly completion position, remains provisionally mounted to the opening peripheral portion 2A of the outer panel 2 by means of the provisional mounting portions 3M, even though the bracket 3 has been displaced from its mounting position (contact position).

[0060] The locking cylinder 4 has a positioning section 4V which defines the final assembly position for the carrier 3. As shown in the Fig. 16A and Fig. 16B, the positioning portion 4V serves as a positioning contact portion 4V that comes into contact with the bracket 3 in the final sliding movement direction when the assembly completion position is reached as a result of the final sliding movement. Here, the positioning contact portion 4V serves as a fastener fixing portion 4V formed on the flange portion 4F1 in the provisional fitting direction of the bracket 3 so as to protrude toward the vehicle interior. When the final sliding movement of the bracket 3 is completed, the fastener fixing portion 4V comes into contact with a fastener insertion portion 3V in the direction opposite to the provisional fitting direction, the fastener insertion portion 3V being formed on the opening peripheral portion 3N of the bracket 3 so as to protrude toward the vehicle interior in the provisional fitting direction.Consequently, the fastening fixing member 4V is positioned in the assembly completion position and can be fastened and fixed by a predetermined fastening member 300 at the same time.

[0061] Here, when the final sliding movement of the carrier 3 is completed, the fastener fixing section 4V and the fastener insertion section 3V come into contact with each other (contact between contact surfaces 3i and 4i: see Fig. 16A and Fig. 16B). Provided this contact state has been established, these two can be attached and fixed to each other.

[0062] Specifically, by bringing the fastener fixing portion 4V and the fastener insertion portion 3V into contact as described above, the fixing hole (threaded receiving hole) 4V of the fastener fixing portion 4V and the insertion hole 3V of the fastener insertion portion 3V, which are offset from each other, are made identical (the axis 3z and the axis 4z coincide), thus enabling the fastener 300 to be inserted and screwed like a bolt. This fastener 300 is inserted into the insertion hole 3V of the fastener insertion portion 3V and then screwed into the fixing hole 4V of the fastener fixing portion 4V located in front of the insertion portion 3V, thereby fixing the bracket 3 and the lock cylinder 4.Thus, the assembly of parts 2, 3, 4, 5, 71, and 72 constituting the vehicle door opening / closing operating device 7 (door locking / unlocking operating device 1) is completed. Incidentally, the insertion hole 3v of the bracket 3 is positioned to be exposed from the side end surface of the vehicle door 102 on the side where the door 102 is opened. Therefore, the fastening member 300 can be screwed from the direction of the side end surface, thus eliminating the need for a worker to move to the inside of the vehicle door 102.

[0063] When the final sliding movement of the carrier 3 is completed, the lock cylinder cover 71 is mounted together with the lock cylinder 4 on the outer panel 2 to prevent its separation from the outer panel 2. The lock cylinder cover 71 comes into contact with the moved carrier 3 in the direction opposite to the insertion direction and in the direction of the width of the opening, and is thus positioned. As shown particularly in the Fig. 17A, Fig. 17B, Fig. 18A and Fig. 18B, the end portions 3I (3I1 and 3I2) of the connecting portion 3L of the bracket 3 are received in bracket end receiving portions 7I (7I1 and 7I2) (here, openings that recede in the provisional fitting direction or extend therethrough) provided in a wall portion 71L projecting on the vehicle interior side to separate the opening 71H side and the opening 72H side of the key cylinder cover 71, as shown in Fig.14B. As a result, the end portions 3I (3I1 and 3I2) of the connecting portion 3L of the carrier 3 on the side opposite to the insertion direction and on both sides in the direction of the width of the opening come into contact with the inside of the carrier end receiving portion 7I. Consequently, these end portions serve as separation preventing portions and positioning portions.

[0064] In this embodiment, when parts 2, 3, 4, 5, 71, and 72 are assembled or positioned, for example, they come into contact with each other. However, slight gaps may occur during their contact, allowing for manufacturing and / or assembly errors. Therefore, even if a slight floating separation does occur when these parts are in contact or are displaced, such contact or displacement is included in the concept of contact or displacement.

[0065] In the door lock / unlock operating device 1 according to the embodiment, as described above, the bracket 3 has a shape that allows the bracket 3 to pass from the vehicle exterior to the vehicle interior through the opening 2H, and thus can be mounted to the outer panel 2 from the vehicle exterior. Therefore, the workability of the assembly is excellent because the bracket 3 can be provisionally mounted to the outer panel 2 without opening the vehicle door 102. Further, the bracket 3 is provisionally mounted by sliding it on the back side 2b of the outer panel 2. Consequently, the bracket 3 can be easily installed even from the vehicle exterior.

[0066] Furthermore, the bracket 3 can be provisionally mounted on the vehicle inner side of the peripheral portion 2A of the opening 2H of the outer panel 2. Therefore, by passing the transmission shaft portion 42, starting from its front end, through the openings 2H and 3H, the lock cylinder 4 can be arranged from the vehicle outer side to the vehicle inner side with respect to the bracket 3 provisionally mounted on the outer panel 2. Consequently, the workability of the assembly work is excellent.

[0067] Furthermore, the carrier 3 can be easily temporarily assembled by a sliding operation. In the carrier 3, the direction of the sliding movement from the temporary assembly start position to the temporary assembly completion position is opposite to the direction of the sliding movement from the temporary assembly completion position to the final assembly completion position. Furthermore, the final assembly completion position is provided at an intermediate position between the temporary assembly start position and the temporary assembly completion position. The temporary assembly completion position is used as a turning position, thus facilitating an assembly process and making it possible to reduce the range of the sliding movement by turning. As the carrier 3 moves to the provisional assembly completion position and further to the final assembly completion position through the translation movement, different positional relationships are established with respect to, for example, the contact between parts 2, 4, and 5. This provides configurations for different positioning or separation prevention, preventing any errors in the assembly process and assembly position.

[0068] The movement of the carrier 3 from the provisional assembly completion position to the final assembly completion position not only enables the carrier 3 to be attached and fixed to the lock cylinder 4, but also temporarily mounts the lock cylinder 4 to prevent their separation. Consequently, the carrier 3 and the lock cylinder 4, which are temporarily mounted to prevent their separation, can be stably attached and fixed by the fastening member 300.

[0069] One embodiment of the invention has been described above, but it should be understood that the foregoing embodiment is only an example and the invention is not limited thereto. For example, various modifications may be made based on the knowledge of those skilled in the art, for example, by omitting composition requirements for a portion of the above-described embodiment or adding other composition requirements.

[0070] In the door locking / unlocking operating device 1 (vehicle door opening / closing operating device 10) according to the above embodiment, the base 5 is used. However, the base 5 may be omitted by providing the carrier 3 or the outer panel 2 with the elements of the base 5 that contribute to the assembly.

[0071] In the previous embodiment, a door handle assembly 7 in which the door handle 72 has been mounted on the key cylinder cover 71 is mounted on the outer panel 2 in which the bracket 3, the key cylinder 4, and the base 5 have already been mounted. However, in the door handle assembly 7, the door handle 72 may be mounted after the key cylinder cover 71 is mounted on the outer panel 2. The door locking / unlocking operating device 1 (vehicle door opening / closing operating device 10) according to the previous embodiment may include or omit the key cylinder cover 71 and the door handle assembly 7.

[0072] In the previous embodiment, a sliding movement of the carrier 3 is linked to the assembly of the lock cylinder cover 71 and the door handle 72, such as the final sliding movement of the carrier 3, which contributes to the positioning of the lock cylinder cover 71 and prevents its separation. However, the lock cylinder cover 71 and the door handle 72 can be assembled independently of the sliding movement of the carrier 3.
