Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a multi-layer side wall of a transport container according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] An example of a side wall structure is known from document DE 93 18 630.4. Part of the inner wall is designed as a keyhole plate system, which can be used to attach cross-support or support elements in the cargo space as required. Another example of keyhole plates can be found in document DE 297 13 622 U1. The keyholes each form an opening in the inner wall of the transport container. Both prior art examples show swap bodies with corrugated side walls, but the invention also relates to other transport containers. The transport container can be a container or swap body, for example, but also a box body on a truck tractor or on a trailer or another transport container. In addition to the double-walled side wall construction with corrugated plates, other double-shell wall structures are also possible, such as side walls with a cassette construction. In order to attach cross-support or support elements or hooks of load securing systems in the keyhole, a cavity must be formed behind the opening or keyhole on the side of the interior wall facing the outer wall. Fasteners can be inserted through the opening so that these fasteners engage behind the interior wall and are securely held in place. Independent of the keyhole plates, openings with a cavity behind them can also be present in the interior walls of a side wall for reasons other than load securing.
[0003] A device of this type is known from DE 10 2011 008 254 A1. The profiles disclosed therein are heavy and complex to manufacture.
[0004] If bulk materials are transported in damaged packaging, allowing the bulk material to spill out of the packaging, the problem arises that the bulk material will trickle through the openings into the cavity when the container moves and accumulate there. This problem occurs, for example, with torn fertilizer bags. Depending on their chemical content, the bulk materials accumulating in the cavity can promote metal corrosion, especially if the bulk materials remain in the cavity for a longer period and possibly absorb moisture, which can further increase their chemical aggressiveness.
[0005] In order to avoid corrosive processes in the area of the cavities on the back of the inner wall due to bulk material accumulating there, or at least to reduce the risk, the object of the present invention is to find a solution with which the accumulation of corrosive bulk material in the area of the cavity can be reduced or completely avoided.
[0006] The problem is solved for a generic side wall of a transport container by the characterizing features of claim 1.
[0007] Bulk material trickling through the opening into the cavity falls downwards due to gravity and inevitably encounters the inclined surface of the guide device that closes off the cavity at the bottom. Due to the inclined surface, however, the bulk material does not adhere to it, but instead slides further, following the slope of the inclined surface, toward the outlet openings. The bulk material can then fall back out of the cavity through the outlet openings before it can trigger corrosive processes. Corrosive processes caused by bulk material accumulating in the cavity can be completely prevented or at least significantly slowed by the guide device.
[0008] If the discharge openings are temporarily obscured by the bulk material inside the transport container, the bulk material will initially accumulate in the cavity. However, as soon as the material is unloaded from the transport container, it can flow freely out of the cavity through the discharge openings. Due to the movements and acceleration and braking processes to which a transport container is subjected during transport, the cavity is continuously shaken empty.
[0009] The guide device also facilitates cleaning of the cavities. When the cavities are flushed with compressed air or water, the guide device conveys the loosened particles back into the interior of the transport container through the outlet openings. Any water that enters the cavity is also safely removed by the guide device. Another advantage of the guide device is that it directs moisture and bulk materials away from the outer wall toward the inside. This is advantageous because corrosion on the outer wall is more quickly visible when it is thinner than the inner wall.
[0010] The guide device is a folded profile sheet with angled profile legs at the top and bottom edges of the inclined surface, whose flat surfaces are aligned plane-parallel to the adjacent surfaces of the interior and exterior walls. A folded profile is cost-effective to manufacture and has comparatively high inherent stability. The angled profile legs allow the guide device to be easily connected to adjacent components, such as the flat surfaces of the interior and exterior walls, using welding, riveting, gluing, or joining techniques.
[0011] According to one embodiment of the invention, the outlet openings are designed as elongated holes. Elongated holes provide a good ratio between the free area of the outlet openings, through which bulk materials can trickle out of the cavity, and the connecting webs between the elongated holes, which are still required to ensure the strength of the corresponding inner wall surface. Furthermore, elongated holes allow bulk material particles to pass through the outlet opening, which, due to their geometry, would no longer fit through round or square holes.
[0012] According to one embodiment of the invention, the outlet openings are formed in the lower area of a keyhole plate. It is cost-effective to form the outlet openings directly in the keyhole plate, as this eliminates the need to manufacture and assemble a separate component for the outlet openings. The base frame and side wall can be manufactured independently of the bulk material outlets.
[0013] According to one embodiment of the invention, the discharge openings are arranged above the rubbing strut that borders the inner wall at the bottom. With this arrangement, the cavity between the rubbing strut and the outer wall is completely sealed at the top by the guide device. This connection zone between the outer wall, the frame, and the rubbing strut is important for the strength and durability of the transport container. The rubbing strut has unlimited stability because it is not weakened by discharge openings. The rubbing strut retains a smooth, closed surface, thus preventing any new hazards from being created such that conveyor equipment, loading personnel, or transported goods could collide with sharp edges of the discharge openings in the area of the rubbing strut and sustain damage.
[0014] According to one embodiment of the invention, the lower profile leg overlaps the skirting board in some areas. This overlapping design allows for a simple, well-sealed transition area between the inner wall and the skirting board.
[0015] According to one embodiment of the invention, the inclined surface has an angle of incidence of 20° to 70° to the horizontal. An angle of incidence that is too shallow is disadvantageous because the bulk material is then no longer moved toward the discharge openings solely by gravity. An angle that is too steep could result in the bulk material becoming trapped in the cavity. Furthermore, the guide device would then be too high, making it unnecessarily heavy.
[0016] According to one embodiment of the invention, the guide device has a separate seal for the joints in the area where it meets the interior and / or exterior wall. This separate seal prevents bulk material and / or moisture from settling into the joints and triggering corrosive processes there. The seal can be applied using a cavity wax, varnish, adhesive, or the like.
[0017] It is expressly pointed out that the advantageous embodiments explained above can be combined as desired with the subject matter of the main claim, but also with other advantageous embodiments, provided that there are no technical obstacles to this.
[0018] Further modifications and embodiments of the invention can be found in the following description and the drawings.
[0019] The invention will now be explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment. The following are shown: Fig. 1: a side view of a transport container with an open side wall, Fig. 2: an enlarged view of the lower part of a side wall, and Fig. 3: an enlarged view of a guidance device.
[0020] In Fig. 1 shows a view of a transport container 2, in which one side wall is shown open for explanatory purposes, so that one can look into the transport space 4 and the inside of the side wall 6. In the exemplary embodiment, the side wall 6 has a number of openings 8 designed as keyholes. Means for securing loads, for example, can be attached to these openings 8. The openings 8 are located in keyhole plates, on the lower edge of which mouth openings 10 are additionally formed, distributed across the width of the keyhole plate. The keyhole plates, which in the exemplary embodiment together with the rubbing strip 12 form the inner wall 14, are positioned above the rubbing strip 12.
[0021] In Fig. Figure 2 shows an enlarged view of a side wall 6 having a double-shell construction. While the side wall 6 is formed on the inside facing the transport space 4 by the surfaces of the inner wall 14 and the skirting board 12, the outside of the side wall 6 is completely covered by the outer wall 16. Between the inner wall 14 and the outer wall 16 is a cavity 18. Bulk materials can enter the cavity 18 through openings 8 in the inner wall 14. Fig. 2, the openings 8 are not shown for reasons of graphic simplification. Nevertheless, it is clear from the illustration in Fig. 2, it is conceivable that the bulk materials falling into the cavity 18 fall through the cavity onto the guide device 20. There, they strike, in particular, the inclined surface 22. Due to the angle of the inclined surface 22, the bulk materials are guided into the area of the outlet openings 10, from where the bulk materials can return to the transport space 4 of the transport container 2.
[0022] In Fig. Figure 3 shows an enlarged view of a guide device 20. In this embodiment, the guide device 20 consists of a folded profile, in which angled profile legs 24 are formed at the upper and lower edges of the inclined surface 22, the flat surfaces of which are aligned plane-parallel to the adjacent surfaces of the inner and outer walls 14, 16. This allows the profile legs 24 to rest flatly on the adjacent surfaces of the inner and outer walls 14, 16.
[0023] In the exemplary embodiment, the lower leg 24 of the guide device 20 extends down into the area of the skirting board 12. Thus, the profile leg 24 covers the transition area from the inner wall 14 to the skirting board 12.
[0024] The invention is not limited to the above embodiment. It will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art to modify the embodiment in a manner deemed appropriate to adapt it to a specific application.
