Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a brake lining return device for a brake lining arrangement of a vehicle disc brake. The present invention further relates to a brake lining arrangement having at least one such brake lining restoring device. The invention is also directed to a vehicle disc brake having at least one brake lining return device.Brake lining return devices are known from the prior art and are disclosed, for example, in the document WO 03 / 027526 A1. This document discloses a brake pad assembly having a friction pad and a backing plate for the friction pad. A reset mechanism for the brake pad assembly includes a pin and a clip. The pin is secured to the carrier plate and extends through an opening in the bracket. DE 2536619 A1 relates to a partial lining disk brake and discloses a restoring spring in this connection. It is an object of the present invention to provide a brake lining return device with which a position of a brake lining arrangement relative to a brake disc can be adjusted as a function of the wear of a friction lining. This object is achieved with a brake lining restoring device having the features of claim 1. Further embodiments are set forth in the dependent claims. The brake lining restoring device according to the invention comprises at least one clamping leg and at least one base leg. The at least one clamping leg has at least one first aperture. The at least one clamping leg and the at least one base leg are connected to one another via at least one spring section, wherein the at least one clamping leg is displaceable relative to the at least one base leg under elastic deformation. The brake lining return device is designed in such a way that a frictional engagement with a holding element assigned to the brake lining arrangement can be produced via an edge of the first opening of the at least one clamping limb, wherein the brake lining return device is furthermore designed in such a way that the frictional engagement can be released in the direction of the at least one base limb by a relative movement of the at least one clamping limb exceeding a predetermined distance. The spring section is designed in such a way that it provides a prestress with which the edge of the first aperture can be pressed against the retaining element in order to produce a frictional connection. With the reset device according to the invention, an "automatic" compensation of the wear of the friction lining of a brake lining arrangement can be achieved. The position of the brake lining arrangement can approach the brake disc for wear compensation. By compensating for the wear or abrasion on the friction lining, large pedal idle paths of the brake pedal can be avoided. In the initial position of the at least one clamping leg relative to the at least one base leg, the frictional engagement between the edge of the first opening of the at least one clamping leg and the at least one pin- or bolt-shaped retaining element reaches its maximum value and can thus fully absorb the reaction forces. As soon as the clamping leg approaches the base leg during a brake-effective displacement of the brake lining arrangement, the frictional engagement can decrease due to the acting reaction forces. This decrease of the frictional engagement can take place continuously depending on the path of the relative movement between the clamping leg and the base leg. The brake lining restoring device can be designed in such a way that the frictional engagement can no longer withstand the reaction forces acting at this time when a predetermined path of the relative movement between the clamping limb and the base limb is exceeded, as a result of which a frictional engagement interruption occurs. Due to the frictional connection interruption, the clamping leg and the holding element can move "independently" of one another. The clamping leg can accordingly at least partially relax after the frictional engagement interruption due to the spring force provided by the brake lining return device and move away from the at least one base leg. The at least one clamping leg can be moved away from the base leg until the friction between the edge of the opening of the clamping leg and the holding element can withstand the reaction forces. Until the friction can withstand the reaction forces again, the brake lining arrangement will displace in the direction of the brake disc. The displacement of the brake lining arrangement in the direction of the brake disc forms the termination of the wear compensation. As long as the relative movement of the clamping leg in the direction of the base leg does not exceed a predetermined distance, the brake pad return device provides a return force in order to be able to return the brake pad arrangement into its initial position. If the relative movement exceeds the predetermined distance, for example due to a wear-induced long displacement distance of the brake lining arrangement in the direction of the brake disc, the frictional engagement between the clamping limb and the retaining element is canceled. The brake lining arrangement can then be brought "freely" closer to the brake disc in order to readjust the starting position or the starting position of the brake lining arrangement relative to the brake disc. This can compensate for wear on the friction lining in order to prevent long pedal idle paths. The above explanations can be summarized as follows: During a brake-effective displacement of the brake lining arrangement, the clamping limb can follow the displacement of the brake lining arrangement under elastic deformation. After the release of the vehicle disc brake, the elastically deformed clamping leg can move back into its original starting position due to the spring force provided by the brake lining return device. As a result, the brake lining arrangement coupled to the clamping limb can be removed from the brake disc, wherein the braking-effective contact of the friction lining with the brake disc is interrupted. The brake lining arrangement can always be reset into its predetermined starting position relative to the brake disc. As the wear of the brake lining arrangement progresses, the clearance, i.e. the distance of the friction lining from the brake disc, can increase continuously. The continuously increasing clearance can only be compensated by the driver by a greater brake pedal stroke, which is perceived by the driver as an ineffective pedal clearance. In order to avoid this state, the predetermined starting position of the brake lining arrangement can be adapted to the wear state of the friction lining with the brake lining return device according to the invention, wherein the starting position of the brake lining arrangement can be displaced in the direction of the brake disk by the brake lining return device. For this reason, the brake lining restoring device is designed to interrupt the frictional engagement between the edge of the opening of the clamping leg and the holding element as soon as the pedal idle travel exceeds a predetermined size or a predetermined travel, wherein the associated exceeding of the predetermined travel of the relative movement of the clamping leg in the direction of the base leg can cause the interruption of the frictional engagement. The at least one base leg can have at least one second aperture. The second aperture of the base limb can be larger in terms of area than the first aperture of the clamping limb. The base leg may extend substantially perpendicular to the associated retaining member. When the clamping leg is moved in the direction of the base leg, the first aperture and the second aperture can lie one above the other. It is conceivable that by bringing the clamping leg closer to the base leg, the first aperture and the second aperture can be brought into a congruent state. In this state, the frictional engagement can be completely canceled. The first aperture and the second aperture can be formed on the at least one clamping leg and the at least one base leg in such a way that they can be penetrated by the at least one holding element. The clamping leg and the base leg may extend at a predetermined angle to each other. The predetermined angle can be, in particular, an acute angle. The clamping leg and the base leg may have surfaces facing each other. Due to the predetermined angle, the distance between the clamping leg and the base leg may increase in the direction of the free ends of the clamping leg and the base leg. The angle can be opened in the direction of the free ends of the clamping leg and the base leg. Alternatively, the angle can be opened in the direction of the spring section. The clamping leg and the base leg can be arranged one behind the other in the actuation direction. The clamping leg can be arranged in front of or behind the base leg in the actuation direction. The at least one clamping leg may comprise a fastening portion having a first fastening opening. The at least one base leg can have at least one second fastening opening. The first and the second fastening opening can serve for fastening the brake lining return device to a brake lining carrier plate of a brake lining arrangement. The fastening section of the clamping leg can be brought into contact with the base leg. The predetermined angle between the clamping leg and the base leg may be adjusted when the attachment portion of the clamping leg is in abutment with the base leg. In this case, the predetermined angle may be opened toward the spring portion. The brake lining return device can have at least one positioning section which serves for positioning the brake lining return device on a brake lining arrangement. The at least one positioning portion can extend at an angle to the base leg. The positioning section can bear against a contour edge of a brake lining carrier plate and thus position the brake lining restoring device on the brake lining carrier plate. The brake lining restoring device can have a brake lining guide element which is connected to the base limb. The brake lining restoring device can be formed integrally with the brake lining guide element. The brake lining guide element can be accommodated at least in sections in a guide recess of a brake carrier and thus attached to the brake carrier. The brake lining restoring device can be fastenable to the brake carrier via the brake lining guide element. The base leg can be supported at an angle to the brake lining guide element. The base leg can be supported at least in sections on the brake carrier. For this purpose, the base limb can have at least one supporting element. The at least one support element can be designed in the form of a bulge on the base leg. With the at least one support element, the base leg can be supported at points or in sections on the brake carrier. The present invention further relates to a brake pad assembly for a vehicle disc brake. The brake pad assembly has a brake pad carrier plate and at least one friction pad attached to the brake pad carrier plate. The brake lining arrangement further comprises a brake lining return device. The brake lining carrier plate can have at least one holding element. The brake lining arrangement can be couplable to the brake lining return device via the at least one retaining element. The at least one holding element can be attached to the rear side of the brake lining carrier plate, i.e. to the side of the brake lining carrier plate facing away from the friction lining. The at least one holding element can be bolt-shaped. Projections extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis can be formed on the brake lining carrier plate laterally next to the friction lining. In the region of one of these projections, the at least one retaining element can be attached. Each of the protrusions may be provided with a holding member. In order to be able to couple the holding element to the brake lining restoring device, the clamping limb can be moved in the direction of the base limb with elastic deformation of the spring section. In this state, the first aperture of the clamping leg and the second aperture of the base leg can be almost congruent. The holding element can be guided through the two apertures. Due to the prestress provided by the spring section, the clamping leg can press the edge of its aperture against the outer surface of the holding element and thus produce a frictional connection with the holding element. At least one fastening projection can be formed on the front side of the brake pad carrier plate. The brake lining restoring device can be fastened to the brake lining carrier plate by means of the fastening projection. The brake lining restoring device can be plugged onto the fastening projection and fastened thereto. For the placement on the fastening projection, the first fastening opening can be provided on the fastening section of the clamping leg and the second fastening opening on the base leg. The brake lining restoring device can be attached to the fastening projection via a fastening disk. The present invention further relates to a vehicle disc brake having at least one brake carrier and at least one brake lining restoring device or a brake lining arrangement of the type described above. The vehicle disc brake can have the at least one holding element which can be coupled to the at least one brake lining restoring device. The at least one holding element can be connected to the brake carrier. The at least one retaining element can be accommodated at least in sections in openings in the brake carrier. The brake lining arrangement can be displaceably guided on the at least one holding element. The at least one holding element can extend through an opening in the brake lining carrier plate of the brake lining arrangement and through the apertures of the brake lining restoring device. The brake lining return device can couple the brake lining arrangement to the retaining element via a frictional fit. The at least one retaining element can be fixedly attached to a brake carrier. Two embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. The brake pad return devices 400 and 402 extend on an outer surface of the brake carrier 100.FIG. 3 shows a side view of the vehicle disc brake 1000 with the brake carrier 100 and the actuator 200. The brake carrier 100 defines a receiving region A for a brake disc, not shown in FIG. 3. The brake carrier 100 further receives the brake pad assemblies 300 and 306. The brake pad assembly 300 has a brake pad support plate 308 and a friction pad 310 attached thereto. Of the brake lining arrangement 306, only the friction lining 312 can be seen in FIG. 3, which is attached to a brake carrier plate, not shown, of the brake lining arrangement 306. The retaining element 302 is arranged on the brake pad carrier plate 308. On the brake pad carrier plate of the brake pad arrangement 306, not shown in FIG. 3, the holding element 314 is provided. The retaining elements 302 and 314 are coupled to the brake pad return devices 400 and 402.FIG. 4 shows a sectional view along the section line IV-IV in FIG. 2, guide recesses 106 and 108 are formed on the brake carrier 100, in which recesses projections 316 and 318 of the brake lining carrier plates 308 and 320 are displaceably guided. The retaining elements 302 and 314 are arranged on the projections 316 and 318 of the brake lining carrier plates 308 and 320. The holding elements 302 and 314 are designed in the form of bolts or pins. The retaining elements 302 and 314 are attached to a side of the brake pad carrier plates 308 and 320 facing away from the brake disc 500 and thus to the rear side RS of the brake pad carrier plate 308, 320. The brake pad return devices 400 and 402 are supported on the brake carrier 100 and are coupled to the retaining elements 302 and 314 of the brake pad carrier plates 308 and 320.FIG. 5 shows an enlarged detail from FIG. 4 On the rear side RS of the brake lining carrier plate 308, the retaining element 302 is attached to the projection 316. The holding element 302 is bolt-shaped. The retaining element 302 is coupled to the brake pad return device 400. The brake lining return device 400 has a clamping limb 402 and a base limb 404. The clamping leg 402 and the base leg 404 are connected to each other via a spring portion 406. The spring portion 406 is formed in a bent manner. The spring portion 406 connects the clamping leg 402 and the base leg 404 to each other such that the clamping leg 402 and the base leg 404 extend at a predetermined angle α to each other. The angle α is set between the clamping leg 402, the base leg 404 and the spring portion 406. The angle α is opened toward the free ends of the clamping leg 402 and the base leg 404.The clamping leg 402 has an opening 408. The base leg 404 has an aperture or opening 410. The apertures 408 and 410 are positioned on the clamping leg 402 and the base leg 404 such that they can be penetrated by the bolt-shaped retaining element 302. The base leg 404 has a bulge 412, by means of which the brake lining return device 400 can be supported on the brake carrier 100.In the exemplary embodiment shown, the brake lining restoring device 400 is connected to a brake lining guide element 600. The brake lining restoring device 400 can, however, also be formed separately from the brake lining guide element 600 as a separate component. The guide element 600 is arranged in the guide recess 106 of the brake carrier 100 at least in sections and fastened to the brake carrier 100. The guide element 600 serves to guide the projection 316 of the brake pad carrier plate 308 and thus to guide the movement of the brake pad arrangement 300. The base leg 404 connects the brake pad return device 400 to the guide element 600. The base leg 404 extends at an angle to the brake pad guide element 600. The brake lining restoring device 400 can be fastened to the brake carrier 100 via the brake lining guide element 600.Via the edge of the opening 408, the clamping leg 402 can produce a frictional connection with the holding element 302. The bias of the spring portion 406 urges the rim R against the outer surface of the retainer 302. The frictional engagement couples the brake lining return device 400 to the holding element 302 and thus to the brake lining arrangement 300, of which only the projection 316 of the brake lining carrier plate 308 can be seen in FIG. 5. During assembly, the clamping leg 402 is brought closer to the base leg 404. The apertures 408 and 410 are then virtually congruent. In this state, the holding element 302 can be guided through the apertures 402 and 404. If the clamping leg 402 is released, the prestress of the spring section 406 presses the edge R of the clamping leg 402 against the outer surface of the retaining element 302 and thus establishes the frictional engagement with the retaining element 302.When the brake lining arrangement 300 or the projection 316 of the brake lining carrier plate 308 is displaced in the actuation direction BR, i.e. in the direction of the brake disc 500 (see FIG. 4 ), the clamping limb 402 which is coupled in a frictional manner to the retaining element 302 first follows the movement of the brake lining arrangement 300 with elastic deformation of the spring portion 406. In this case, the clamping leg 402 is displaced relative to the base leg 404 and approaches the base leg 404 with elastic deformation of the spring portion 406. As a result of the approach of the clamping limb 402 to the base limb 404, the angle α decreases, as a result of which the frictional forces between the edge R of the aperture 408 and the retaining element 302 are also reduced. In the actuation direction BR, i.e. in the direction of the arrow BR, the clamping leg 402 is arranged in front of the base leg 404.During a relative movement of the clamping leg 402 relative to the base leg 404 over a predetermined distance, the frictional forces always remain so great that the frictional connection between the clamping leg 402 and the holding element 302 is maintained. If this predetermined path is exceeded, for example, on account of a large displacement path of the brake lining arrangement 300 in the direction of the brake disc 500 (see FIG. 4 ), the frictional engagement between the edge R of the aperture 408 and the retaining element 302 can be canceled or released. In the case of such a large displacement path, the brake lining arrangement 300 with its holding element 302 can be displaced "freely" relative to the brake lining restoring device 400 and relative to the clamping limb 402. The brake pad assembly 300 may approach the brake disc 500. As a result, the point of application of the edge R of the opening 408 of the clamping leg 402 on the holding element 302 also changes. The new engagement point will be closer to the end 320 of the holding element 302 than the original engagement point, so that the friction surface of the friction lining is also located closer to the brake disc 500 (see FIG. 4 ) in the unactuated state. The starting position or the starting position of the brake lining arrangement 300 relative to the brake disc 500 (see FIG. 4 ) has been readjusted or readjusted. This can compensate for wear on the friction lining in order to avoid long pedal idle paths of the brake pedal (not shown).FIG. 6 shows a perspective view of two brake pad arrangements 300 and 306. The brake pad assembly 300 includes the brake pad carrier plate 308 and the friction pad 310 attached thereto. The brake pad assembly 306 includes the friction pad 312 attached to the brake pad support plate 320. The friction pads 310 and 312 are disposed on the front surfaces 322 and 324 of the pad support plates 308 and 320. According to this exemplary embodiment, the brake lining restoring devices 400 are also arranged on the front sides 322 and 324 of the brake lining carrier plates 308 and 320.The brake pad return devices 400 are attached to mounting protrusions 326 on the front sides 322 and 324 of the brake pad support plates 308 and 320. The brake pad return devices 400 couple the brake pad assemblies 300 and 306 to the retaining members 110 and 112. The retaining elements 110 and 112 are fixedly connected to the brake carrier 100 (see FIG. 1 ) in the assembled state. The brake pad return devices 400 are attached to the projections 316, 318, 328 and 330 of the brake pad carrier plates 310 and 320 which extend laterally next to the friction pads 310 and 312. The projections 316, 318, 328 and 330 each have an opening 332 through which the bolt-shaped retaining elements 110 and 112 extend. The projections 316 and 318 on the brake pad plate 308 and the projections 328 and 330 on the brake pad plate 320 are relatively far apart from one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis L of the brake pad arrangements 300 and 306. In the state of the brake pad arrangements 300 and 306 mounted on the disc brake, the projections 316, 318, 328 and 330 are located above the brake disc assigned to the brake pad arrangements 300 and 306.FIG. 7 shows a top view of the arrangement according to FIG. 6, the friction linings 310 and 312 of the brake lining arrangements 300 and 306 lie opposite one another and can be brought into engagement with the side surfaces of a brake disc, not shown in FIG. 7. The retaining elements 110 and 112 extend through openings in the projections 316, 318, 328 and 330 and through the apertures in the brake lining restoring devices 400. The brake pad return devices 400 are arranged on the front sides 322 and 324 of the brake pad carrier plates 308 and 320. The brake pad return devices 400 have positioning portions 414 which abut the contour edges of the brake pad carrier plates 308 and 320 in the region of the projections 316, 318, 328 and 330 in order to position the brake pad return devices 400 on the projections 316, 318, 328, 330.FIG. 8 shows a detail of a front view of the brake pad arrangement 300. The brake pad return device 400 is arranged on the projection 316 of the brake pad carrier plate 310. The brake pad return 400 is attached to the mounting protrusion 326 via a mounting disc 416 that engages the mounting protrusion 326. For this purpose, the fastening disk 416 has radially inwardly directed claws which engage on the fastening projection 326. The positioning sections 414 abut the contour edges of the brake lining carrier plate 310 in the region of the projection 316. The opening 408 through which the brake pad holding element 100 extends is visible on the clamping leg 402 of the brake pad return device 400. The spring section 406 adjoins the clamping limb 402. The protrusion 316 of the brake pad plate 310 extends in the direction of the longitudinal axis L away from the region of the brake pad plate 308 with the friction pad 310. In the direction of the longitudinal axis L, the fastening projection 326 is arranged closer to the friction lining 308 than the clamping limb 402 with its aperture 408.FIG. 9 shows a sectional view along the section line IX-IX in FIG. 8, and FIG. 9 shows the brake lining arrangement 300 with the friction lining 310 and the brake lining carrier plate 308. On the front side of the pad plate 308, the fixing protrusion 326 is formed. The brake lining restoring device 400 is arranged on the fastening projection 326. An opening 332 is also formed in the brake pad support plate 308. Both the mounting protrusion 326 and the opening 332 are formed on the protrusion 316 of the pad plate 310.The brake lining return device 400 is attached to the front side 322 of the brake lining carrier plate 310 in the region of the projection 316. The brake lining restoring device 400 has the clamping limb 402 and the base limb 404. The clamping leg 402 and the base leg 404 are connected to each other via the spring portion 406. The spring portion 406 is formed in a bent manner. The clamping leg 402 and the base leg 404 extend at an angle α to each other. The angle α is open in the direction of the spring portion 406. The opening or opening 408 is formed in the clamping leg 402. The opening 410 is formed in the base leg 404. The position of the opening 332 on the projection 316 of the brake lining carrier plate 310 is matched to the position of the apertures 408 and 410 in the limbs 402 and 404 of the brake lining restoring device 400 in such a way that the retaining element 110 can extend through the opening 332 and the apertures 408 and 410.The clamping leg 402 is connected to a fastening portion 418, which has an opening 420. The base leg 404 also has an opening 422. With the openings 420 and 422 the brake lining restoring device 400 can be plugged onto the pin-shaped projection 326 on the brake lining carrier plate 310. The brake pad return device 400 is fastened to the fastening protrusion 326 via the fastening disk 416. For this purpose, the fastening disk 416 abuts in sections against the connecting section 418. The base leg 404 can abut in sections against the front side 322 of the brake lining carrier plate 310.The clamping leg 402 can produce a frictional connection with the holding element 110 via its aperture 408 or via the edge R of the aperture 408. The spring portion 406 provides a predetermined bias with which the edge R of the aperture 408 of the clamping leg 402 is pressed against the outer surface of the retaining element 110. As a result, a frictional connection is produced between the clamping limb 402 and the holding element 110, which frictionally couples the brake lining arrangement 300 to the holding element 100 via the brake lining restoring device 400.During a braking operation, the brake lining arrangement 300 is displaced in the actuation direction BR. In the actuation direction BR, i.e. in the direction of the arrow BR, the clamping leg 402 is arranged behind the base leg 404. The clamping leg 404 approaches the base leg 402 under elastic deformation of the spring portion 406. The angle α between the clamping leg 402 and the base leg 404 is reduced in this case. By reducing the angle α, the frictional forces between the edge R of the opening 408 of the clamping leg 402 are reduced as a function of the displacement path. If a predetermined path of the relative movement of the clamping leg 402 in the direction of the base leg 404 is exceeded, for example due to a wear-induced long displacement path of the brake lining arrangement 300 in the direction of the brake disc, the frictional engagement between the clamping leg 402 and the holding element 110 is canceled. The brake lining arrangement 300 can then be displaced along the holding element 110 together with the brake lining restoring device 400 in the actuating direction BR, wherein the point of application of the aperture 408 of the clamping limb 402 on the outer circumferential surface of the holding element 110 changes. The point of application of the edge R of the opening 408 of the clamping leg 402 on the holding element 110 approaches the brake disk, not shown in FIG. 9. As a result, the starting position of the brake lining arrangement 300 relative to the brake disc can be readjusted. With the brake lining return device 400 according to the invention, long pedal idle paths of the brake pedal can be avoided, since the initial position of the brake lining arrangement 300 relative to the brake disc is readjusted if this necessitates the wear on the friction lining 310, 312 of the brake lining arrangement 300.
