AI Technical Summary
Existing filter modules for separating tacky and dry paint, adhesive overspray, and abrasive dusts are inefficient in reducing dimensions for transport, leading to increased costs.
The method involves stretching paper laid scrims in the longitudinal direction before installation in the filter module, allowing for expansion in the transverse direction, which reduces the filter module's dimensions during transport.
This approach enables a significant reduction in freight volume and maintains the filter's effectiveness in separating contaminants, with the stretched paper layers relaxing to their original dimensions within the filter housing.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for installing a filter module serving for separating, in particular, tacky and dry paint and / or adhesive overspray, abrasive dusts etc., with a filter gate in a filter housing in the form of an insert formed from a plurality of sections for receiving a slit paper web serving as filter medium, the paper webs being stretched in the longitudinal direction before being installed in the filter housing module.Such separation filters are sufficiently known, for example from U.S. Pat. No. 9,555,358 B2 or U.S. Pat. No. 2017 / 0136483 A1. They comprise a filter module positioned in a box designed as a filter housing and having plate-like inserts arranged one behind the other. In U.S. Pat. No. 9,555,358 B2, it is very advantageous not least because of the action of tacky and otherwise problematic substances on these filters for realizing a filter gate to provide spacers between the insert sections making up the filter module. U.S. Pat. No. 9,555,358 B2 relates to a spacer for which the perforated covers of the outer box are used. US 2017 / 0136483 A1 comprises slotted paper laid scrim. The medium of slit and expanded paper consists of several layers arranged in a stacked configuration. In this context, U.S. Pat. No. 9,555,358 B2 has proven unsatisfactory against the background that these filter housings cannot be sufficiently reduced in their dimensions for transport purposes, which can lead to considerable additional costs. The object of the present invention is thus to provide a method for installing a filter module for separating, in particular, tacky and dry paint and / or adhesive overspray and grinding dusts on a filter gate, with which the disadvantages mentioned can be eliminated. The object set is achieved according to the method in that the paper laid scrims are stretched in the longitudinal direction before being installed in the filter module. According to the circumstances, an expansion in the actual transverse direction can also take place. The rolls formed by the paper filter web are wound up unstretchedly after their production, i.e. they are supplied in slit, unstretched rolls in different sectional images. These have the advantage, compared to a finished, stretched roll, of a significantly reduced freight volume thanks to the paper filter mats consisting of preferably eight layers (three coarse, two medium-size and three fine layers). The paper is thus taken up in slotted, but still unstretched rollers.Surprisingly, it has been found in experiments that targeted expansions of the laid scrim are possible to a considerable extent. If the stretched paper layer is relaxed after stretching, the laid scrim tends to reduce back to its original length. With respect to the width of the scrim, which has naturally reduced upon stretching, the scrim also tends to resume its original sizing. It has been achieved in experiments that the paper laid scrim is stretched in the longitudinal direction by about 25% to 125%, preferably by about 80%. In the transverse direction, a compression of about 100% to 150%, preferably of about 120%, caused by the stretching in the longitudinal or working direction can be achieved.Because the stretched / overstretched paper is formed as a single, double or multi-ply web and laid into the insert, the predefined inner width of the insert prevents the natural contraction of the paper plies which are actually overstretched, without the need for fixing the single or multiple paper plies or the entire filter ply, neither at the insert nor at the second nonwoven filter lying behind it. The sewing together of the individual paper plies is also advantageously omitted by relaxing the paper plies after stretching, wherein the paper ply becomes fixed in the filter housing / carton during the generation of a claw effect in the transverse direction, namely by the width of the insert restricting the paper ply in its natural relaxation. The invention is distinguished in particular in that a filter module made of corrugated cardboard and / or plastic with a filter gate is provided in the form of a plurality of insert sections arranged spaced apart one behind the other, which is particularly suitable for separating tacky or dry paint or adhesive overspray and abrasive dusts with minimal space requirement during transport. Here, the inserts are advantageous in the form of cage-like sections filled with a filter medium. The filter medium consists of one, two or more identical or different filter mats, for example of paper laid scrims or nonwoven filters made of polyester or glass fiber or the like.Further details and advantages of the subject matter of the invention will become apparent from the following description of the associated drawing, in which a preferred exemplary embodiment with the necessary details and individual parts is shown. The following are shown: FIG. 1 shows a filter module in a perspective view FIG. 2 shows the module according to FIG. 1 in plan view FIG. 3 shows a module with further spacer plates in rear view FIG. 4 shows the filter module according to FIG. 3 in a front view FIG. 5 shows a module before assembly FIGS. 6 to 8 each show a filter module in different mounting states FIG. 9 shows a filter housing with filter medium in front view, and FIG. 10 shows a filter housing with filter medium in rear view.FIG. 1 shows a filter module 1 with an insert 8 in the form of four insert sections 10- 13. These comprise the filter medium, not shown here, in the form of filter mats in a cage-like manner. Arranged one behind the other and at an acute angle and in the manner of a W with respect to one another, the pivotably connected insert sections 10- 13 preset the filter gate. The reference numerals 3, 4 designate spacer plates between the insert sections 10 and 11 or 12 and 13. The spacer plates 3, 4 are folded out of the plane of the respective insert sections 10 and 12 and latched on the opposite insert section 11, 13.In the top view according to FIG. 2, in addition to the spacer plates 3 and 4 between the inserts 10 and 11 or 12 and 13, the spacer plate 5 between the insert sections 11 and 12 can also be seen. The two spacer plates 3 and 4 in turn serve to define the angle between the insert sections 10, 11 and 12, 13, respectively. In rear view, FIG. 3 shows the filter module 1, formed from the insert sections 10- 13 with spacer plates 6, 26, 7, 27 on the outer side 18, 19 of the inserts 10, 13.In a view from the front, FIG. 4 shows the corresponding filter module 1 with the spacer plates 3, 4 between the inserts / filter plates 10, 11 and 12, 13, respectively. The construction of such a filter module 1 as a module consisting essentially of four insert sections 10- 13 is then illustrated in FIG. 5 with the spacer plates 3, 4 folded out of the plane of the inserts 10- 13, viewed from left to right. Reference is made by way of example to the tab 21 on the end face 23 of the spacer plate denoted by 4. This tab corresponds to the receptacle 16 designed as a slot 15 on the inner side 20 of the insert section 10 facing the insert section 13. For this purpose, such an insert section 10 comprises a plurality of struts, here exemplarily provided with the reference numerals 24 and 25, which serve as a type of cage for the filter mat.In addition, FIGS. 6, 7 and 8 show a filter module during assembly. For this purpose, FIG. 6 shows the filter module 1 completely unfolded, FIG. 7 shows the filter module 1 when folded in and FIG. 8 then in the folded-in state. Finally, FIGS. 9 and 10 show a filter housing 2 in the form of a box with the housing wall 17 for the filter medium 14 in the manner of a filter mat. The overlapping ends of the filter material seal the insert over the height of the cardboard filter at the front inner corners of the carton 2, the spacers 3- 5 stably hold the insert 8 placed 2 in the carton and also ensure that all insert sections are flowed through as a filter surface and thus contribute functionally to the separation.
