Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a support for a supporting beam for carrying structured packings or installation packages for e.g. cooling in cooling towers, for gas scrubbers and for water, in particular waste water treatment (including trickling filters and submerged fixed beds).
[0002] Cooling towers, particularly those in power plants and for industrial cooling, serve to cool the cooling water, which in turn cools various components and plant parts. To improve the cooling effect, cooling towers feature built-in packages made of mesh or foil mats, which typically operate in a countercurrent fashion for improved cooling of the steam. The built-in packages are typically mounted on support beams within the cooling tower with the mesh or foil mats positioned vertically.
[0003] WO 2018 / 144857 A1 discloses a cooling tower with supporting beams and a support for supporting installation packages made of grid or foil mats for cooling a useful fluid by a working fluid, wherein the support has a grid plate with a top side for supporting installation packages and with a bottom side.
[0004] US 3 216 165 A shows a hollow floor structure for a rail vehicle, which has several floor plates, each of which rests on several support beams running parallel to each other.
[0005] DE 693 19 761 T2 describes a base structure for, for example, a cooling tower. The object of the invention is to further improve the storage of structured packings or built-in packages in, for example, cooling towers, gas scrubbers, and wastewater treatment systems.
[0006] To achieve this object, the invention proposes a support for a supporting beam, e.g. of a cooling tower, a gas scrubber or a fixed bed in water treatment for supporting installation packages made of grid or foil mats for the cooling and treatment of a useful fluid, such as water vapor, by a working fluid, such as sprayed water, wherein the support is provided with - a grid plate with a top side for supporting installation packages and with a bottom side, - wherein the grid plate has projecting gripping projections on its underside with a space between them for receiving a support beam, with the gripping projections being arranged on both sides of the support beam and - wherein the gripping projections are designed as grid struts that are extended in sections or continuously over the underside of the grid plate and are thus formed in one piece with the grid plate, or the gripping projections are clipped to the underside of the grid plate.
[0007] The invention is described below with reference to its application in a cooling tower.
[0008] According to the invention, a grid plate is used as the support, which typically has two groups of grid struts running at right angles to each other, preferably in the form of vertically extending grid strut strips. The upper side of such a grid plate serves to support an installation package, which is partially supported on the grid plate.
[0009] The underside of the grid plate is provided with protruding projections, forming a gap between them to accommodate a supporting beam. The projections are located on both sides of the supporting beam and as close to it as possible, preferably contacting the supporting beam on both sides. This creates an enlarged contact surface on the supporting beams. The grid plates placed on two adjacent supporting beams do not necessarily span the entire area between the two supporting beams; rather, a gap preferably remains between the facing edges of the grid plates resting on two adjacent supporting beams. The installation packages "span" this gap.
[0010] In a further expedient embodiment of the invention, it can be provided that the encompassing projections are connected to the lattice struts by gusset-like connections and are thus reinforced.
[0011] In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, it can be provided that the grid plate comprises plastic.
[0012] In a further expedient embodiment of the invention, it can be provided that the grid plate has grid struts running at right angles to one another.
[0013] In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, it can be provided that the grid plate comprises a glass fiber reinforced plastic.
[0014] In a further expedient embodiment of the invention, it can be provided that the grid plate is designed as a profile body.
[0015] The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment and with reference to the drawings. In detail: Fig. 1 schematically shows the structure of a cooling tower in its interior and Fig. 2 different views of a grid plate.
[0016] Fig. Figure 1 schematically shows the internal structure of a cooling tower 10, which is arranged above a sump (not shown) on a frame 12. In the lower region of the cooling tower 10, there are support beams 14 running parallel to one another. Grid plates 16 are arranged on these support beams 14, which are used to increase the support area 18 for the installation packages of grid or foil mats 22 indicated at 20.
[0017] Fig.Figure 2 shows various views of the grid plate 16. This has a top side 24 as a support for the installation packages 20 and a bottom side 26. From the bottom side 26, gripping projections 28 protrude, which in this embodiment are designed as an extension of two central grid struts 30. Between these gripping projections is a gap 32, which serves to accommodate a support beam 14. The two gripping projections 28 are then located on both sides of the support beam 14 and, in particular, in contact with the side surfaces of the support beam 14.
[0018] The latter are stabilized by triangular gusset-like stiffening structures 34 between the underside 26 of the grid plate 16 and the outer sides of the encompassing projections 28.
[0019] Water vapor from cooling water introduced into the cooling tower 10 from below rises; sprayed water is introduced from above (not shown) and runs down the grid or foil mats 22, increasing the surface area within the installation packages 20, where it comes into contact with the water vapor to cool it.
[0020] A supporting beam in the sense of the invention also includes support feet arranged in a row in alignment. The encircling projections encircle the support feet on two opposite sides or even on all sides.
