Description

[0001] The invention relates to a motor arrangement comprising at least one brushless first electric motor, at least one brushless second electric motor, at least one connection board, and at least one encoder board. Each electric motor has at least one rotor, at least one stator, and at least one motor winding.

[0002] Electric motors are known in a wide variety of designs in the prior art. Soldered connections, such as plug connectors, are typically provided for connecting the control electronics and / or user-specific components. This is usually done by the user.

[0003] In some applications, such as in medical technology or aerospace engineering, a highly compact design is required, especially for motor arrangements with multiple electric motors. Automated assembly is also desirable in these applications. Current electric motors do not offer these two possibilities, or only to a limited extent.

[0004] The invention is therefore based on the objective of providing a motor arrangement and an electric motor that enable automated assembly and a compact arrangement.

[0005] This problem is solved by a motor arrangement with the features of claim 1, namely by a motor arrangement comprising at least one brushless first electric motor, at least one brushless second electric motor, at least one terminal board, and at least one encoder board. Each electric motor has at least one rotor, at least one stator, at least one motor winding, and at least two interface contacts. The terminal board has corresponding interface contacts. The motor windings of the electric motors are connected to the interface contacts of the terminal board via the interface contacts. The encoder board comprises at least some of at least two encoders and is electrically connected to the terminal board.

[0006] Each electric motor has at least a rotor with a rotor shaft, a stator, and a motor winding. Electric motors are designed, for example, as internal rotor motors or external rotor motors, as single-phase systems (e.g., shaded-pole motors), as two-phase systems (e.g., stepper motors), as three-phase systems (e.g., brushless DC motors), or even as five-phase systems (e.g., brushless DC motors).

[0007] Preferably, the electric motor is designed as a three-phase, brushless DC motor (BLDC motor). The motor winding has at least one first phase connection, one second phase connection, and one third phase connection, wherein the first phase connection is electrically connected to a first interface contact, the second phase connection to a second interface contact, and the third phase connection to a third interface contact on the motor board.

[0008] The BLDC motor preferably comprises an external rotor in the form of a rotor housing with several permanent magnets and a stator with motor windings. The rotor magnets are advantageously embedded in a plastic matrix. The rotor, particularly the matrix, is at least partially integrally formed with the rotor shaft, e.g., by injection molding, casting, or printing.

[0009] Each electric motor has at least two interface contacts. Advantageously, these interface contacts allow for a detachable, re-establishable, electrically conductive connection to the interface contacts on the terminal board. In particular, the interface contacts and the interface contacts are designed such that an electrical connection between them is automatically established when the electric motor is brought into contact with the interface contacts on the terminal board. Preferably, the interface contacts are located directly on the electric motor, for example, on a motor circuit board. The interface contacts are formed directly on the terminal board. For example, the interface contacts are designed as spring-loaded contact pins, and the interface contacts as rigid contacts, such as conductive contact surfaces. The interface contacts and the interface counter contacts preferably form an interface block.

[0010] By using interface contacts on the electric motors and corresponding interface contacts on the connection board, the motor winding is connected by placing the motor against the connection board or by positioning the electric motor relative to the connection board. This eliminates the need for wiring, such as plugging in a cable connection, resulting in a compact design and enabling automated assembly.

[0011] Because the motor winding is directly connected to the interface contacts via the terminal board, components such as commutation, sensors, and the like can be completely externalized, resulting in an even more compact motor assembly. The electric motors are designed to be sensorless. Preferably, only the motor winding or coils can be contacted via the interface contacts. Furthermore, this design requires only a minimal number of interface contacts, for example, just three in a three-phase system. This leads to an even more compact and modular design.

[0012] The connection board preferably serves to provide space-saving contact for all electric motors in the motor assembly. The connection board is electrically connected to the encoder board. For example, the connection is made via at least one connecting line, which may be a flexible conductor or ribbon cable. Preferably, the connection board has several, in particular three to ten, preferably three or five, separate groups of interface contacts, so that a number of electric motors corresponding to the number of groups can be contacted. That is, each group has a number of interface contacts corresponding to the number required to contact an electric motor. This advantageously allows several, in particular all, electric motors, especially their motor windings, to be contacted simultaneously with a single connection board.

[0013] According to a further development, the interface contacts are arranged adjacent to at least one side edge of the terminal board. This allows the electric motors to be contacted at the edge of the terminal board. Preferably, the terminal board has a group of interface contacts on at least two adjacent side edges. Preferably, the terminal board has a group of interface contacts on at least four side edges. For example, the terminal board is provided to have at least six side edges. This further development results in great flexibility regarding the arrangement of the electric motors.

[0014] It is also provided that the terminal board has at least one recess, preferably a central recess, dimensioned to allow a front flange to pass through it at least partially, i.e., the front flange can be slid into or through the recess. This advantageously allows for additional interface contacts in at least one edge of the recess.

[0015] The encoder board has at least two encoders, i.e., rotary encoders, and in particular at least two encoder chips. For example, at least one Hall sensor is arranged on the encoder board as an encoder for each of the electric motors. The encoder board is positioned relative to the electric motors such that the Hall sensors on the encoder board can interact with their respective magnets, which are preferably connected to the rotor shaft of each electric motor.

[0016] For example, the motor assembly includes at least one mounting frame. The electric motors, the connection board, and the encoder board can be attached to, or are attached to, the mounting frame, either indirectly or at least partially within it. The mounting frame advantageously positions the electric motors, the connection board, and the encoder board relative to each other. For example, the electric motors are each screwed to the mounting frame. The mounting frame can also be referred to as the motor housing.

[0017] The rotor shafts of the electric motors in a motor assembly may, for example, operate together with a common output shaft or each drive a separate output shaft. For instance, all rotor shafts may be connected to a gearbox, or each rotor shaft to a gearbox. The electric motors in the motor assembly are preferably aligned identically, i.e., arranged side by side in an imaginary plane. In particular, all electric motors are arranged side by side.

[0018] According to a first embodiment of the motor arrangement, each of the existing electric motors has at least one motor board, and the interface contacts are arranged on the motor board. For example, the motor board is located at one end of the electric motor and is penetrated by a rotor shaft. The motor board has, for example, a diameter that is less than or equal to the outer diameter of the electric motor.

[0019] Another embodiment provides that each electric motor has at least one front flange and that the front flange at least partially surrounds a rotor shaft. In particular, the rotor shaft passes through the front flange. For example, the motor circuit board is arranged between the front flange and the other components of the electric motor, such as the rotor, stator, etc. The front flange is preferably formed integrally with a shaft section that at least partially surrounds a rotor shaft.

[0020] A first alternative design proposes that the front flange have at least three mounting arms. The front flange therefore only contains material in the areas necessary for mounting. This ensures reliable mounting of the electric motor while simultaneously minimizing its weight. The interface contacts of the electric motor, particularly the motor board with its interface contacts, are advantageously arranged so that the interface contacts are accessible between the mounting arms, for example, to interact with the corresponding interface contacts on the connection board.

[0021] Preferably, the mounting arms are designed symmetrically; for example, an angle of approximately 120° is formed between the central axes of the mounting arms.

[0022] A second alternative embodiment provides that the front flange has a mounting disc and that the mounting disc at least partially surrounds a rotor shaft of the rotor. The rotor shaft preferably passes through the mounting disc. The mounting disc has at least one recess through which the interface contacts are accessible in order to advantageously interact with the interface mating contacts of the terminal board. The recess is defined, for example, by a secant.

[0023] Preferably, the underside of the flange has a central recess, so that a circumferential web is formed in an edge area of the underside of the flange.

[0024] According to one embodiment of the motor arrangement, it has proven particularly advantageous if the front flange is provided with at least one annular collar projecting outwards parallel to a longitudinal axis of the rotor shaft. This annular collar preferably serves for positive-locking interaction with a mounting frame or motor housing, enabling very precise positioning of the electric motor on or within the mounting frame.

[0025] Another embodiment of the motor arrangement provides that the terminal board is positioned such that it does not protrude beyond the ends of the electric motors in the longitudinal direction. Preferably, the terminal board is arranged essentially flush with one end of each electric motor. It is also preferred that the terminal board and the front flange of the electric motor are designed and arranged such that the terminal board extends at least partially between the mounting arms of the front flange or within the at least one recess of the front flange. This facilitates easy contact with the interface contacts and reduces the overall height of the motor arrangement in a direction parallel to the rotor shaft, as no additional longitudinal space is required for the terminal board.

[0026] Preferably, the distance between the connection board and the motor board in a direction parallel to the rotor shaft - longitudinal direction - is between 2.5 mm and 4.5 mm and / or the distance of the encoder board to the electric motor, in particular to an encoder magnet arranged on the rotor shaft, is 0.1 mm to 1.5 mm.

[0027] It has proven particularly advantageous if, according to one embodiment, the interface contacts are designed as spring contacts, especially as spring-loaded contact pins, or as spring leaves, e.g., battery contacts. The corresponding interface mating contact is then preferably designed as a contact surface for a spring contact. This type of electrical connection is particularly easy and can be manufactured repeatedly, especially automatically. It is also possible for the interface contacts to be designed as contact surfaces and the interface mating contacts as spring contacts, especially spring-loaded contact pins.

[0028] Preferably, each spring-loaded contact pin has a sleeve and a spring-loaded piston that can be pressed into the sleeve against the spring force. Preferably, the piston end intended for contact is rounded.

[0029] It has proven particularly advantageous if the spring-loaded contact pin has a short design and a small stroke, e.g., a height of approximately 4.5 mm and / or a stroke of approximately 1 mm. Preferably, the spring-loaded contact pin has a nominal working height (circuit board to contact surface) of 2.5 mm to 4.5 mm. Preferably, the spring-loaded contact pin has a spring force of 0.25 N to 1 N.

[0030] In particular, the interface contacts are designed to be equidistant from each other. The interface contacts are preferably designed as individual terminals or as a spring-loaded contact strip.

[0031] According to a preferred embodiment, the spring contacts are mounted on the electric motor, particularly on a motor circuit board, such that one spring direction of the spring contact is aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis of a rotor shaft. For example, the spring contact, particularly the spring-loaded contact pin, is mounted vertically on the motor circuit board, so that one spring direction of the spring contact, particularly of the spring-loaded contact pin, is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the rotor shaft. This makes it particularly easy to connect the electric motor to the spring contact.

[0032] Preferably, the spring contact, in particular the spring-loaded contact pin, is attached to the motor circuit board with a soldered connection. Preferably, the spring contact, in particular the spring-loaded contact pin, also has a mounting pin that can be inserted through a mounting hole on the motor circuit board. This provides additional support and increases stability.

[0033] In particular, it is provided that the spring-loaded contact pin has a contact pin housing, wherein the contact pin housing surrounds the sleeve and extends longitudinally at least over a region of the sleeve surface, and wherein the contact pin housing is attached to the motor board.

[0034] According to an advantageous embodiment, the interface mating contacts are designed as contact surfaces, in particular that the size of a contact surface is larger than the diameter of an interface contact or the bearing surface of an interface contact. This ensures that contact is always guaranteed, taking into account manufacturing and assembly tolerances. In particular, the contact surfaces are designed as round contact surfaces. It is specifically provided that the diameter of a contact surface is approximately 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm larger than the diameter of an interface contact, especially than the diameter of a contact pin or piston.

[0035] Another embodiment of the motor arrangement provides that the connection board and the encoder board are spaced apart and arranged parallel to each other, e.g., in two parallel, imaginary planes. Preferably, the electric motors are arranged between the connection board and the encoder board, in particular such that the rotor shaft passes through the imaginary planes as the plane normal. The encoder board is connected to the connection board via a flexible connecting cable.

[0036] The connection of the electric motors via interface contacts and a terminal board allows for a very compact arrangement of the electric motors relative to each other. Another embodiment of the motor arrangement provides for three to ten electric motors, with the interface contacts of all electric motors connected via the terminal board. The electric motors are preferably screwed to a mounting frame. Preferably, exactly three or exactly five electric motors are provided.

[0037] To ensure the most compact motor arrangement possible, it is advantageously provided that the electric motors are arranged in a grid pattern, with one electric motor positioned centrally and the other electric motors surrounding it. For example, the other electric motors are arranged symmetrically around the central electric motor if there is an odd number of electric motors in total. Alternatively, it is particularly provided that, with five electric motors, two are arranged in pairs in parallel rows, with the fifth electric motor positioned centrally between the rows, in particular similar to the five dots on a die.

[0038] Preferably, the electric motors surrounding the central electric motor are aligned such that the interface contacts each have a minimal distance to the central electric motor, in particular are aligned parallel to a tangent to the central electric motor.

[0039] However, it is also planned that the electric motors of a first row, for example two, are each arranged centrally between electric motors of a second row, for example three. This ensures a compact arrangement.

[0040] Preferably, at least two electric motors are arranged with a radial distance of less than 2 mm between them. If one electric motor is centrally located, the surrounding electric motors are each less than 2 mm away from the central electric motor. Preferably, the radial distance is less than 1 mm, more preferably less than 0.5 mm, and particularly about 0.2 mm. Surprisingly, it was found that no disruptive interference occurs despite the proximity of the electric motors to each other.

[0041] The invention further relates to a brushless electric motor, in particular for a motor arrangement according to the described embodiments. The electric motor is designed as described in the embodiments. In particular, the electric motor has at least one rotor, at least one stator, at least one motor winding, at least one motor board, and at least one front flange. The rotor has at least one rotor shaft and can be driven by a magnetic field generated by the motor winding. The motor board has at least two interface contacts for direct electrical contact with the motor winding. Specifically, the electric motor is designed as described in the embodiments for the motor arrangement for a single or multiple motors.

[0042] Furthermore, the invention relates to a kit for a motor assembly, particularly according to one of the described embodiments. The kit preferably comprises at least two electric motors, at least one terminal board, and at least one encoder board. The components are designed according to the described embodiments. Each of the electric motors has at least one rotor, at least one stator, at least one motor winding, and at least two interface contacts. The terminal board has corresponding interface contacts. The electric motors are arranged in a transport and positioning device, the transport and positioning device having a number of holding areas for electric motors corresponding to the number of electric motors in the motor assembly. Preferably, the kit also includes a holding frame for the motor assembly. The transport and positioning device holds the electric motors, for example, in a position relative to each other that corresponds to their mounting position in a holding frame. The electric motors are preferably arranged in the transport and positioning device such that their interface contacts are aligned with the corresponding interface contacts on the terminal board. The transport and positioning device with the electric motors then only needs to be moved relative to the terminal board to establish contact.

[0043] This significantly simplifies assembly, as the electric motors held by the transport and positioning device can be moved and mounted as a single unit and are also pre-positioned.

[0044] For example, the transport and positioning device is made of plastic, in particular a film, or of cardboard.

[0045] In particular, the transport and positioning device has two to ten, preferably three or five, individual holding areas. The holding areas are designed, for example, as retaining rings.

[0046] One embodiment provides that the holding areas are designed such that an electric motor is held securely by force and / or form-fitting. Preferably, the transport and positioning device is designed as an elastic plastic band that can be stretched over the electric motor, or as a plastic band, e.g., made of polyethylene, that can be positioned around the electric motor and shrinks due to the application of heat.

[0047] Further advantageous embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the following description of the figures and the dependent claims. These show: Fig. 1 an embodiment of an electric motor, Fig. 2 an embodiment of a connection board and an associated encoder board, Fig. 3 an embodiment of part of a kit for a motor arrangement with a transport and positioning device, Fig. 4 an embodiment of a motor arrangement, Fig. 5 the engine arrangement according to Fig. 4 in sectional view, and Fig. 6 the engine arrangement according to Fig. 4 in the partial section.

[0048] In the various figures of the drawing, identical parts are always labelled with the same reference symbols.

[0049] The following description claims that the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments and not to all or several features of the described combinations of features; rather, each individual partial feature of the exemplary embodiment(s) is also significant for the subject matter of the invention, independent of all other partial features described in connection therewith, both on its own and in combination with any features of another exemplary embodiment.

[0050] Fig. Figure 1 shows an embodiment of an electric motor 1 for, for example, a Fig. Figure 4 shows a motor arrangement 42 according to an embodiment as a brushless DC motor with an external rotor. The electric motor 1 has a rotor 2, a stator 3, a motor board 4 and a front flange 5.

[0051] The electric motor 1 according to Fig. 1 is, for example, in Fig. 5 in a motor arrangement 42 shown in section. Fig. Figure 5 shows the motor arrangement 42 according to Fig. 4 in the sectional view marked AA there. The rotor 2 has a rotor bell 6, a rotor shaft 7 and several permanent magnets 8. The rotor bell 6 has a bell base 9 and a radially surrounding bell wall 10 enclosing an inner bell space. The stator 3 is arranged in the inner bell space.

[0052] The rotor shaft 7 is rigidly connected to the bell-shaped base 9, extending through it. The rotor shaft 7 is rotatably mounted in the stator 3. The rotor shaft 7 has an encoder magnet 11 at one end. The encoder magnet 11 is held in a magnet holder 29. The rotor shaft 7 has a longitudinal axis 12 that runs parallel to a longitudinal extension 13 of the motor 1.

[0053] The permanent magnets 8 are arranged on the side of the bell wall 10 facing into the interior of the bell and are equidistant from each other. They are preferably high-performance rare-earth magnets.

[0054] The stator 3 has several stator teeth 14, two ball bearings 15, a motor board mount 16, and the front flange 5. The ball bearings 15 support the rotor shaft 7. A spring force 26 acts on at least one of the ball bearings 15 in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis 12. The ball bearing 15 oriented towards the bell base 9 is also sealed against the shaft section 24 by a seal 27. The stator teeth 14 are arranged at equal intervals around the rotor shaft 7. Each of the stator teeth 14 carries a coil 17, which together form the motor winding 18.

[0055] The motor winding 18 has connections for applying an excitation current, by means of which a magnetic field can be generated that drives the rotor 2 via the magnets 8. In the exemplary embodiment, three phases, i.e., three connections, are provided for generating an electric rotating field.

[0056] The motor board mount 16 is cylindrical and has a bottom wall section and a circumferential side wall for receiving the motor board 4. The motor board mount 16 is located outside the bell housing interior. The side wall also has a height greater than the thickness of the motor board 4, so that the latter does not protrude.

[0057] The front flange 5 is disc-shaped and has a flange top 19, a flange bottom 20, a flange side wall 21, an annular collar 22, and three mounting holes 23. The front flange 5 is arranged at the end face of a shaft section 24 surrounding the rotor shaft 7. The annular collar 22 is formed centrally on the flange top 19, projects perpendicularly outwards from it, and extends circularly around the rotor shaft 7 (see in particular...). Fig. 5).

[0058] The underside of the flange 20 has a recess 25 extending around the shaft section 24, so that a circumferential rib is formed in an edge region of the underside of the flange 20. The front flange 5 has a recess 28 defined by a secant. The recess 28 exposes the motor board 4 located below it. This allows access to the motor board 4 from the outside in the area of the recess 28.

[0059] The mounting holes 23 extend from the top of the flange 19 to the bottom of the flange 20. They serve to accommodate fasteners in order to attach the flange 5 to a retaining frame 30 (see Fig. 6) to connect.

[0060] The motor board 4 is ring-shaped and arranged in the motor board receptacle 16. The motor board 4 surrounds the rotor shaft 7, i.e., the rotor shaft 7 passes through a recess formed in the motor board 4. The motor board 4 has three interface contacts 31, namely a first interface contact 31a, a second interface contact 31b, and a third interface contact 31c, for electrically connecting the motor winding 18.

[0061] The interface contacts 31 are each designed as a spring-loaded contact pin, comprising a sleeve 32 and a spring-loaded piston 33 that can be pressed into the sleeve 32. The first interface contact 31a is connected to the first phase of the motor winding 18. The second interface contact 31b is connected to the second phase, and the third interface contact 31c is connected to the third phase.

[0062] Fig. Figure 2 shows an embodiment of a connection board 34 with a connecting cable 35, here a foil conductor, which is connected to an encoder board 36. The embodiment also corresponds to the connection board 34 and the encoder board 36 according to Figure 2. Fig. 4 and Fig. 5. In the exemplary embodiment, the terminal board 34 has five groups 37 of interface contacts 38, two mounting holes 39, and a connection for the connecting cable 35. Each group 37 of interface contacts 38 serves to connect an electric motor 1, in particular according to Fig. 1. Thus, using the same connection board 34, a first electric motor 1 can be contacted with a first group 37a, a second electric motor 1 with a second group 37b, a third electric motor 1 with a third group 37c, a fourth electric motor 1 with a fourth group 37d and a fifth electric motor 1 with a fifth group 37e.

[0063] The interface counter contacts 38 are designed to correspond to the interface contacts 31 a, 31b, 31c of the motor board 4 which are designed as spring contacts, namely as first, second and third contact surfaces 38a, 38b, 38c.

[0064] The encoder board 36 has a number of encoder chips 40 - here Hall sensors - corresponding to the number of electric motors 1 of a motor arrangement 42, which serve to interact with the encoder magnets 11 arranged on the rotor shafts 7.

[0065] Fig. Figure 3 shows an embodiment of part of a kit 41 for a motor arrangement 42 with several electric motors 1. In the illustrated embodiment, the kit 41 comprises five electric motors 1 and a transport and positioning device 43. The connection board 34 and encoder board 36 are, for example, in Fig. 2 shown.

[0066] The transport and positioning device 43 has five retaining rings, each retaining ring holding one of the electric motors 1. The retaining rings 44 are arranged in two rows, with three retaining rings 44 in a first row and two retaining rings 44 in a second row. Two electric motors 1 are arranged centrally between the other three electric motors 1.

[0067] For the assembly of a motor arrangement 42 with five electric motors 1, the required electric motors 1 can be easily moved together using the transport and positioning device 43, whereby they already have the correct positioning relative to each other. The orientation of the interface contacts 31 also corresponds to the arrangement of the interface mating contacts 38 of the connection board 34, e.g. according to Fig. 2. This makes assembly considerably easier.

[0068] According to Fig. The electric motors 1 are arranged between the connection board 34 and the encoder board 36. The connection board 34 and the encoder board 36 are aligned in two parallel, imaginary planes. The encoder board 36 has five encoder chips 40. The encoder board 36 is arranged below the electric motors 1, opposite the respective bell-shaped base 9 of the rotor 2, so that each encoder chip 40 is positioned opposite one of the encoder magnets 11, allowing them to interact.

[0069] Fig. 4 and Fig. Figure 5 further shows that the terminal board 34 does not protrude beyond the respective front flange 5 in the longitudinal direction 13 of the electric motors 1, i.e., it is essentially flush or aligned with the front flanges 5 in an imaginary plane to which the longitudinal axis 12 runs as a plane normal. This arrangement of the terminal board 34 in the recesses 28 of the front flanges 5 minimizes the installation space required in the longitudinal direction 13.

[0070] Fig. Figure 6 shows the motor arrangement 42 according to Fig. 4 with mounting frame 30 in partial section. The mounting frame 30 encloses the electric motors 1 and the connection board 34 and positions them relative to each other. For this purpose, the mounting frame 30 has three mounting holes 45 for each electric motor 1, which align with the mounting holes 23 in the front flange 5 of the electric motor 1.

[0071] The invention is not limited to the embodiments illustrated and described, but also encompasses all embodiments that have the same effect within the meaning of the invention. It is expressly emphasized that the embodiments are not limited to all features in combination; rather, each individual feature can have inventive significance independently of all other features. Furthermore, the invention is not yet limited to the combination of features defined in claim 1, but can also be defined by any other combination of specific features from all disclosed individual features. This means that, in principle, virtually any individual feature of claim 1 can be omitted or replaced by at least one individual feature disclosed elsewhere in the application.
