Description

[0001] The invention relates to a method for mounting an information device, in particular a door plate on a door leaf according to the features of patent claim 1, as well as an information device according to the features of patent claim 6, and a door leaf with an information device according to patent claim 16.

[0002] Information devices, especially door signs, are used in a wide variety of shapes and designs in a wide range of applications, particularly in large building complexes such as office buildings, hospitals, apartment buildings, condominiums, apartment blocks, and conference hotels. Door signs indicate which person, unit, or room is behind a door without having to open the door.

[0003] Particularly in large building complexes, room occupancy changes at regular intervals, which means that door signs must be replaced. A problem when replacing permanently mounted door signs is that the door sign's fastening means often leaves damage on the front of the door leaf. Particularly in rented properties, permanent damage to the front of a door is generally not tolerated. One solution is offered by German patent DE 33 43 537 A1. In this patent, the door sign's lettering is replaced using a strip-shaped, replaceable information element that is inserted through a guide bar arranged in the base plate of the door sign. The disadvantage is that the base plate must also be attached to a wall or to the front of the door. Furthermore, the door sign's design options are limited by the predetermined geometric dimensions of the guide bar.

[0004] This problem is solved by a method for mounting an information device on a door leaf having the features of patent claim 1 and an information device having the features of patent claim 6 and a door leaf having the information device according to patent claim 16.

[0005] Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.

[0006] According to the invention, there is therefore provided a method for mounting an information device, in particular a door sign, on a door leaf with at least one front and at least one side surface, which method comprises the following steps: providing an information device, wherein the information device has at least one, preferably flat, information area and at least one, preferably flat, holding area, wherein the at least one holding area is arranged at an angle substantially orthogonally to the information area, applying the at least one holding area to a side surface of the door leaf in such a way that the information area is arranged at least approximately parallel to the front, fastening the at least one holding area to the door leaf, in particular to the side surface of the door leaf, by means of at least one fastening means.

[0007] A door leaf generally has a front and rear face, which are connected to each other via preferably four side faces. Regarding the design of the side faces, a distinction is made between a flush door leaf, a rebated door leaf, and a double rebated door leaf.

[0008] In the blunt door leaf, the side surface has a single side area which has no bends and is arranged orthogonally on the front and rear front of the door leaf.

[0009] The side surface of a door leaf with a rebate has three flat side areas. The side areas are arranged orthogonally to each other, with two side areas parallel to each other. The third flat side area is preferably orthogonal to the other two side areas and connects them. The two side areas closest to the front of the door leaf form a notch. The rebate of interior doors is standardized to 13 × 25.5 mm and coordinated with the frame rebate.

[0010] A door leaf with a double rebate has five side sections. Three side sections are arranged orthogonally to the front or rear face of the door, with each of the three side sections connected by two orthogonally positioned side sections.

[0011] A double rebate forms two door rebates. The door leaf can have a triple or quadruple rebate. The number of side sections and levels varies depending on the previous design. Due to the formation of a door rebate, the front and rear faces of the door leaf have different heights and widths. In the previous, here, and below, the front face is the face that is shorter and narrower than the rear face. In the case of a flush door leaf, both faces are the same size, regardless of which face is referred to as what.

[0012] Preferably, the flat information area is located directly on the front panel. However, the information area can also run at a distance, at least partially parallel to the front panel. Furthermore, the flat information area can also be located directly on the rear door leaf or at a distance, at least partially parallel to the rear panel. Furthermore, two flat information areas can be formed, which are located directly on the front and rear panels of the door leaf.

[0013] By attaching the information device to a side surface of the door leaf, the front of the door leaf is not damaged, as no screws, nails, or similar items penetrate the front of the door leaf. This ensures minimally invasive attachment of the information device to the door leaf. If the information device is no longer required, the remaining fastening material can be removed with filler. It is also possible to sand down fastening materials on a side surface of the door leaf. This makes it possible to attach an information device and leave the aesthetic and visible areas of a door leaf completely untouched. Preferably, the holding area is attached to a side surface of the door leaf that does not face the ceiling or floor. The holding areas can be attached to a side surface of the door leaf that faces the ceiling and floor.

[0014] Furthermore, the thickness of the door leaf is limited, especially in interior doors. The distance from side panel to side panel is significantly greater, which is why longer fasteners can be inserted into the side panel of the door leaf, allowing for greater loads to be supported, which is particularly advantageous for particularly heavy information devices with sometimes unusual designs. The information device can have one fastener on the support area and another fastener on the flat information area. Complementary counterparts are then formed in the side panel and one front panel of the door leaf. This additional fastening option provides increased stability.

[0015] Advantageously, the information device is attached to a side surface of the door leaf by means of the at least one fastening means in a form-fitting, force-fitting, material-fitting and / or magnetic manner. In an exemplary implementation of the method, the information device is screwed to a side surface of the door leaf by means of the at least one fastening means. For this purpose, a hole can be drilled into the side surface of the door, into which hole the at least one fastening means, e.g. a dowel, is inserted. The information device, in particular the at least one flat holding area, can then be brought into position and fastened to the door leaf using a screw. Screw connections have the advantage that they are easy to install and remove and can be reused. This is particularly advantageous for information devices that are frequently replaced. In addition, screw connections provide a secure and stable connection and can carry large loads.

[0016] According to an advantageous method step, the at least one fastening means is passed through a recess in the holding area and introduced into the door leaf, in particular into the side surface of the door leaf, wherein the recess is part of the fastening means.

[0017] According to an advantageous method step, for example, a screw can be passed through a recess in the retaining area, and by screwing the screw into the side surface of the door, the information device is fastened to the door leaf. Preferably, a retaining area has two recesses through which screws can be passed. A retaining area can also have more than two, for example, three, four, or five recesses. The more screws used to secure the information device, the more stable the connection, but the greater the risk of damage to the door leaf.

[0018] In a further advantageous method step, the information device is attached to a door rebate of the door leaf with the holding area. The flat information area preferably lies directly against the front panel. The holding area is therefore located on the side area of the side panel, which is orthogonal to the front panel and is part of the notch, and is attached to it using screws, nails, or adhesive.

[0019] A magnet can be inserted into the side surface of the door leaf. If the information device, particularly the holding area of the information device, is made of a magnetic material, the information device is held to the side surface of the door leaf due to the interaction between the magnet and the magnetic holding area. The entire information device can be made of a magnetic material, and a magnet can run parallel to the information area.

[0020] The holding area of the information device can form a lug, wherein the lug is formed at the end of the holding area and engages a groove in the side surface of the door leaf, thus clamping the information device to the door leaf. The information device is preferably designed to be slightly resilient, which simplifies the attachment and detachment of the information device to the door leaf.

[0021] The holding area of the information device can form a pin, wherein the pin is arranged on the holding area between the end of the holding area and the transition from the holding area to the information area. The pin engages in a groove in the side surface of the door leaf and clamps the information device firmly to the door leaf. The information device is preferably designed to be slightly resilient.

[0022] According to an advantageous method step, the information device has at least two holding areas arranged on diametrically opposite sides of the information area, and the information device is attached to the door leaf via the two holding areas. Using two or more holding areas when attaching the information device increases stability and allows for the support of larger loads. Furthermore, the mechanical stress on a fastening device is reduced, which increases durability.

[0023] The information device can also have a holding area on a side edge of the information area, wherein the holding area is arranged orthogonally to the information area, wherein a second holding area is arranged orthogonally to this holding area, wherein the second holding area is arranged parallel to the information area. The second holding area, and thus the information device, can be attached to a side surface of the door leaf by means of a nail or a nail, an adhesive, a screw, or a snap-in connection.

[0024] A further aspect of the present invention relates to an information device, in particular a door sign, which has at least one flat information area and at least one flat holding area, wherein at least one holding area is arranged substantially orthogonally to the display area, and wherein the holding area has fastening means for establishing a connection to a door leaf.

[0025] Due to the orthogonal arrangement of at least one holding area with at least one flat information area, the information device optimally adapts to the dimensions of a standard door. If the door leaf has an angle between the front and side surfaces, the arrangement between the holding area and the flat information area can also be angled. The optimal fit of the information device, in particular the holding area, to the door leaf ensures that the door leaf always closes smoothly. Furthermore, the seal, which is usually made of rubber, is not damaged.

[0026] Advantageously, at least one fastening element is formed on the holding area, or at least one fastening element is formed on each of several holding areas. Preferably, multiple fastening elements are used on one holding area, as this distributes the load across several fastening elements and increases durability and load-bearing capacity.

[0027] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, the fastening means arranged on the holding means has at least one recess, through which a screw, for example, can be passed. The use of screws for fastening the information device enables quick assembly and disassembly of the information device. Furthermore, damage to the door leaf is reversible. Furthermore, screws can form a positive fit, preventing jamming, which would otherwise damage the door leaf and / or accompanying components, in particular the seal.

[0028] In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, three holding areas are formed, with one holding area running parallel to the flat information area and the other two holding areas arranged orthogonally to the flat information area. This arrangement can be used for a door leaf with a single rebate or a door leaf with a double rebate.

[0029] In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, fastening means are provided in at least two, preferably three, holding areas. The number of fastening means required depends on the weight of the information device to be supported. The heavier the information device, the more fastening means are required. Furthermore, it is recommended to have fastening means penetrate or form them over the entire side surface of the door leaf in order to better compensate for acting torques.

[0030] The flat information area advantageously has four side edges, with a holding area being arranged directly on at most one side edge of the flat information area. More than one holding area can be arranged directly on the information area. For example, a holding area can be arranged directly on two adjacent and usually orthogonal side edges of the information area. Holding areas can be arranged directly on two opposite side edges of the information area. After the directly arranged holding areas, further holding areas can be arranged on the directly arranged holding areas, so that an arrangement with three, four or five directly connected holding areas can result.

[0031] In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the flat information area preferably has four side edges, with holding areas being arranged directly on a maximum of two side edges of the information area. This arrangement is particularly advantageous when the information area extends across the entire width of the door leaf. The holding areas are arranged on the side edges of the flat information area that do not face the ceiling or floor. The two-sided fastening significantly reduces the torque acting on one side. Holding areas can also be arranged directly on more than two side edges of the information area.

[0032] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, the at least one information area and the at least one holding area are formed from a monolithic unit. The information device is preferably manufactured from a single component using a bending process. However, the information device can also be formed from two or more components fastened together. The information device can be made of sheet metal, aluminum, wood, plastic, metal, bamboo, and other materials.

[0033] In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the information device, particularly in the information area, has letters, numbers, special characters, logos, symbols, or an analog or digital display device. Words, sentences, names, and the like can thus be formed on the information device, particularly in the information area. Special shapes and logos can also be formed. The information device can have a certain thickness, so that three-dimensional designs can also be formed. The analog or digital display device can, for example, comprise a display. Such displays can easily present different information.

[0034] Advantageously, the fastening means has a device such that the information device can be nailed, glued, plugged or locked to at least one side surface of the door leaf.

[0035] A further aspect of the present invention relates to a door leaf on which an information device is mounted, wherein the preferably flat information area runs parallel to the front face, wherein the holding area of the information device is fastened to a side surface, preferably the door rebate, of the door leaf.

[0036] The door leaf can be made of a wide variety of materials. A door leaf made of wood, plastic, metal, especially aluminum, or combinations thereof is particularly suitable for the invention.

[0037] An embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. [0038] Identical or functionally equivalent parts or features are identified by the same reference numerals in the following detailed description of the figures. Likewise, not all identical or functionally equivalent parts or features are provided with a reference numeral in the figures.

[0039] In Fig. Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a door leaf 10 and a door frame 11. The door leaf 10 has a handle set 12, which can be used to open the door leaf 10. When the door leaf 10 is closed, the lock latch (not visible) engages in the lock plate 14. The handle set 12 has a lock 13, which allows the door leaf 10 to be locked and unlocked using a key. By turning the key, a bolt is inserted into an opening in the lock plate 14, so that the door leaf can no longer be easily opened without a corresponding counter-closing movement.

[0040] The door leaf 10 has a front face 16 and a rear face 17. The door leaf 10 has four side faces 18, wherein the side faces 18 are preferably orthogonal to one another. One side face 18 faces toward the ceiling, while another side face 18 faces toward the floor. The other side faces 18 are orthogonal to these side faces 18 and connect them to one another.

[0041] The door leaf 10 is connected to the door frame 11 via a hinge 15. The hinge 15 supports the weight of the door leaf 10 and enables the rotation of the door leaf 10. This allows the door leaf 10 to be opened and closed. The hinge 15 is arranged on the rebate 19. The rebate 19 conceals the gap between the door frame 11 and the wall. Furthermore, the rebate 19 protects against the penetration of dust and dirt into this gap.

[0042] Another component of the door frame 11 is the door casing 20. The door casing 20, also known as the door frame, forms the frame around the door opening. This stabilizes the door leaf 10. In addition to the door casing 20, the decorative lining 21 is also a component of the door frame 11. The decorative lining 21 performs almost the same functions as the rebate lining 19, except that it is located on the other side of the door opening.

[0043] In Fig. 2A shows a plan view of a blunt door leaf 10. The information device 1 is also shown. The information device 1 has a flat information area 2 and a holding area 3. The flat information area 2 and the flat holding area 3 are orthogonal to one another. However, the flat information area 2 and holding area 3 can also be at an angle to one another, wherein the angular range, starting from the front 16, is preferably between seventy and one hundred and ten degrees. The flat information area 2 runs parallel to the front 16. In the assembled state, the flat information area 2 lies directly against the front. In the assembled state, the flat information area 2 can be at a distance from the front.

[0044] In the assembled state, the holding area 3 rests against the side surface 18 of the door leaf 10. The holding area 3 is fastened to the side surface 18 of the door leaf 10. The fastening is preferably carried out by means of a screw 4. Nuts, dowels and the like can help to fasten the information device 1 to the door leaf 10. The information device 1 can form a further holding area 3, which is arranged such that the information device 1 surrounds the door leaf 10 in a U-shape. The encompassing holding area 3 preferably rests directly on the rear front 17. However, preferably only the holding area 3 which is arranged parallel to the side surface 18 is mechanically fixed.

[0045] In addition to a screw connection, the information device 1 can be attached by nailing, gluing, locking, or clipping. Methods that result in minimally invasive interventions on the door leaf 10 are particularly preferred. The door leaf 10 can be made of aluminum, wood, or plastic, or of another material, or a combination of these three materials or other materials. The information device 1 is made of plastic, wood, sheet metal, aluminum, steel, or the like. The information device 1 is preferably manufactured from a single workpiece, in particular by means of a bending process. The information device 1 can also be formed from two or more assembled components. The components can be welded, screwed, locked, or glued together.

[0046] In Fig. 2B shows a door leaf 10 on whose side surface 18 a door rebate 5 is formed. Doors 10 with a door rebate 5 have three flat side regions 6, wherein the three side regions 6 extend in a stepped manner from the front face 16 towards the rear face 17. The three side regions 6 are orthogonal to one another. The surface area of the rear face 17 is thus larger than the surface area of the front face 16. The side regions 6 of the side surface 18 of the door leaf 10 can also be at an angle to one another. The side region 6, which is arranged directly on the front face 16, and the side region 6, which is orthogonal to this side region 6, form the door rebate 5. The holding region 3 of the information device 1 is preferably fastened in this door rebate 5.

[0047] The information device 1 can also have more than three holding areas 3. The first holding area 3 is directly connected to the flat information area 2, with all further holding areas 3 being arranged on a different holding area 3. The holding areas 3 are preferably arranged orthogonally to one another. In a door leaf 10 with a door rebate 5, one holding area 3 can each rest against the three side areas 6. A single holding area 3 can be mechanically connected to the door leaf 10. Two holding areas 3 can also be mechanically connected to the door leaf 10. Three holding areas 3 can also be mechanically connected to the door leaf 10. In addition, a fourth holding area 3 can be arranged such that the information device 1 encompasses the door leaf 10. A holding area 3 is necessarily connected to the door leaf 10 via a mechanical connection, for example a screw connection.

[0048] In Fig. 2C shows a door leaf 10 with a double rebate 7. The side surface 18 of the door leaf 10 with a double rebate 7 has five side regions 6. The five side regions 6 of a side surface 18 are preferably orthogonal to one another. Two side regions 6 of a side surface 18 can also be at an angle to one another. The side surface 18 extends in a stepped manner from the front face 16 toward the rear face 17. The area of the rear face 17 is larger than the area of the front face 16.

[0049] The flat information area 2 extends across the entire width of the front panel 16. The flat information area 2 has four side edges 8. Retaining areas 3 are arranged directly on the flat information area 2 on those side edges 8 that do not face the ceiling and floor. A further retaining area 3 is arranged orthogonally to each of the directly arranged retaining areas 3. The two retaining areas 3 can form a mechanical connection with the corresponding side areas 6 of the side panel 18, for example, using a screw connection. Retaining areas 3 can be arranged parallel to all five side areas 6 of the side panel 18 of a double rebate 7. Furthermore, a retaining area 3 can be designed such that it runs parallel to the rear panel 17. The information device 1 encompasses the door leaf 10.

[0050] In addition, holding areas 3 can be arranged directly on more than two side edges 8 of the information device 1. Furthermore, holding areas 3 can be arranged directly on two adjacent side edges 8. This is particularly advantageous for information devices 1 arranged in the area of the corners of a door leaf 10. The flat information area 2 can also be attached to only one side surface 18 of the door leaf 10, even in the case of a door leaf 10 with a double rebate 7.

[0051] In Fig. Figure 3 shows a section of a door leaf 10, which forms a door rebate 5 on its side surface 18. The side region 6 closest to the front panel 16 has two recesses 22. The side region 6 can also have more than two, for example, three, four, or five recesses 22, or just one recess 22. Other side regions 6 of the side surface 18 can also have recesses 22.

[0052] The holding area 3 of the information device 1 has two recesses 9. The holding area 3 is positioned such that the two recesses 9 of the information device 1 are arranged exactly over the hollows 22 in the side surface 18 of the door leaf 10. A dowel can be inserted into the hollows 22 of the door leaf 10. The screw head 23 advantageously forms a positive fit with the holding area 3 of the information device 1. The screws 4 are guided through the recesses 9 of the information device and screwed into the side surface 18 of the door leaf 10. More than two screws 4 can be used to fasten the information device 1 to the door leaf 10. Only one screw 4 can be used to fasten the information device 1 to the door leaf 10.

[0053] Symbols, letters, numbers and logos can be arranged on the information area 2.

[0054] In Fig. 4, the arranged information device 1 at the door cutout is Fig. 3. Hollow 22 and recess 9 lie one above the other. The information area 2 lies directly on the front face 16 of the door leaf 10. The holding area 3 lies directly on the side surface 18 of the door leaf 10.

[0055] In Fig. 5A, a magnet 24 is arranged near the side surface 18 of the door leaf 10. The information device 1 is made of a magnetic material, so that when the information device 1 is brought close to the magnet 24, a magnetic force acts on the information device 1 and the information device 1 is fastened to the door leaf 10. Preferably, the holding area 3 of the information device 1 is made of a magnetic material. The entire information device 1 can also be made of a magnetic material.

[0056] In Fig. 5B, a pin 25 is formed on the holding area 3 of the information device 1, wherein the pin 25 is arranged on the holding area 3 between the end of the holding area 3 and the transition from the holding area 3 to the information area 2. The pin 25 engages in a groove 28 in the side surface 18 of the door leaf 10 and clamps the information device 1 to the door leaf 10. The information device 1 is preferably designed to be resilient.

[0057] In Fig. 5C, the holding area 3 of the information device 1 forms a nose 26, wherein the nose 26 is formed at the end of the holding area 3 and the nose 26 engages in a groove 28 in the side surface 18 of the door leaf 10, thereby clamping the information device 1 to the door leaf 10. Preferably, the information device 1 is designed to be resilient.

[0058] In Fig. 6A, a holding area 3, which is not arranged directly on the information area 2, is mechanically connected via a nail 27 to a side surface 18, which is arranged parallel to the information area 2. The information device 1 is thereby fixed to the door leaf 10. The information device 1 is preferably made of a metal, which is why a recess is formed in a holding area 3 for passing a nail 27 through the information device 1. Instead of the nail 27, a screw 4 or an adhesive can also be used to fix the information device 1 to the door leaf 10.

[0059] In Fig.6B shows an information device 1 with a single information area 2 and four holding areas 3. Three holding areas 3 each run parallel to a side surface 18 of the door leaf 10. The fourth holding area 3 is arranged parallel to the information area 2 and rests against the rear front 17 of the door leaf 10. The information device 1 is mechanically connected to the door leaf 10 via a side surface 18 or to the rear front 17 of the door leaf 10.
