Description

[0001] The invention relates to a locking mechanism for a drive rod fitting of a sash of a window, a French door or the like which pivots against a frame, comprising a sash-side assembly and a frame-side assembly of the locking mechanism, wherein one of the assemblies has a locking pin driven by a longitudinally displaceable drive rod and the other of the assemblies has a strike plate designed to receive the locking pin, wherein the strike plate is designed to create a positive locking connection with an additional locking element arranged on the other assembly.

[0002] Such a lock is known, for example, from EP 2 754 804 A2. This lock has an additional locking mechanism with an additional strike plate and an additional locking bolt. The additional locking bolt is manufactured as a single piece with a slide guided in the strike plate. The movement of the slide is controlled by the locking bolt and thus by the position of the drive rod. Due to the arrangement of the slide in the strike plate, the lock is very complex.

[0003] Furthermore, EP 0 196 778 A1 discloses a door in which the leaf carries a bolt that moves into a receptacle in the frame when the door is closed. The bolt and the receptacle are arranged as separate components next to a hinge. Means for locking the leaf in the frame must also be mounted separately. This makes the assembly of the bolt and the receptacle very complex.

[0004] The invention is based on the problem of further developing a lock of the type mentioned above in such a way that it offers high resistance against unauthorized unlocking and is particularly easy to assemble.

[0005] This problem is solved according to the invention by the fact that The strike plate and the additional locking element are aligned opposite each other in such a way that the positive locking is created when the sash is swung into the frame.

[0006] This design allows the strike plate to be used both for locking with the locking bolt and for creating the positive fit with the additional locking element. Thanks to the invention, only a single component needs to be installed, which significantly simplifies the installation of the lock. With a suitable design of the additional locking element, the strike plate can also be easily retrofitted to existing rod-operated hardware. Furthermore, the positive fit with the additional locking element is created by pivoting it into the strike plate, eliminating the need for a complex slide mechanism. Individual locks, as well as all locks of a window, French door, or similar structure, can be designed accordingly.

[0007] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the creation of the positive locking mechanism is particularly simple in terms of design if the locking plate or the additional locking element has at least one hook.

[0008] The component opposite the hook could also have a hook, so that the two hooks pivot into one another. According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, further simplifying the assembly of the components is achieved if the strike plate or the additional locking element has at least one recess for pivoting the hook into place.

[0009] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the lock is reliably protected against displacement in the direction of movement of the drive rod if the additional locking element has two hooks arranged parallel to each other and the strike plate has a central rib between two recesses for the two hooks. This contributes to further security against unauthorized prying.

[0010] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, increasing security against prying open the lock is achieved if the additional locking element at least partially covers a strike plate that covers the drive rod. This covering part is preferably robust and flattened towards the end to function as a sash guide, which guides the sash into the correct position when it is swung inwards and holds it in this position when the sash is closed.

[0011] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, attaching the additional locking element is particularly simple if the additional locking element has a long leg with a bore for screwing it to the assembly containing the drive rod, and if the hook projects from the leg. This design allows the additional locking element to be easily screwed together with the cover rail that covers the drive rod.

[0012] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the additional locking element can be easily mounted in a corner area formed by a wing overlap and a rebate surface if the additional locking element is designed in an angled shape.

[0013] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the additional locking element has particularly high stability if it has projecting ribs at its ends for laterally overlapping at least a portion of the strike plate. This also further hinders the longitudinal displacement of the pivoted sash along the additional locking element. Furthermore, the ribs facilitate the installation of the additional locking element if one rib is positioned at the level of the locking bolt in its central position, i.e., in the open-rotation position.

[0014] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the lock has a particularly high resistance against unauthorized unlocking if the recess in the strike plate is arranged next to a locking recess for receiving the locking pin.

[0015] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the strength of the closure is further increased if, in the state of the locking bolt being inserted into the locking recess, a circumferential mushroom head of the locking bolt and the hook of the additional locking element are positioned opposite each other. This design causes the locking bolt and the additional locking element to clamp around the strike plate in the recess and the locking recess.

[0016] The invention allows for numerous embodiments. To further illustrate its basic principle, several of these are shown in the drawing and described below. This shows in Fig. 1 a window with a locking rod fitting and a lock, Fig. 2 a cross-sectional view through the closure Fig. 1 along line II - II, Fig. 3 a perspective view of the closure made of Fig. 1 in a locked state, Fig. 4. From a perspective, an additional locking element of the closure is made of... Fig. 1, Fig. 5. In perspective, another embodiment of a lock in an unlocked state, Fig. 6. In perspective, an additional locking element of the closure. Fig. 5, Fig. 7. In perspective, another embodiment of a lock in an unlocked state, Fig. 8. In perspective, an additional locking element of the closure. Fig. 7.

[0017] Fig. Figure 1 schematically shows a window with a sash 2 that pivots against a frame 1 and with a locking bar 3. The locking bar 3 has a handle 4 for driving a longitudinally sliding locking bar 5 for controlling several locks 6, 7 for locking the sash 2 in the frame 1. To clarify the components of the locking bar 3, the outlines of the frame 1 and the sash 2 are shown.

[0018] Fig. Figure 2 shows a cross-sectional view through one of the closures 6 arranged next to the handle. Fig. 1 along line II - II. The lock 6 has a frame-side assembly 8 with a strike plate 9 and a sash-side assembly 10 with a locking bolt 11. The strike plate 9 is supported on the frame 1 via a base 12. The locking bolt 11 is attached to the drive rod 5 and is movable perpendicular to the plane of the drawing. The drive rod 5 is covered by a faceplate 13 that is fixedly screwed to the sash 2, with the locking bolt 11 penetrating the faceplate 13 in the area of an elongated hole 14. Furthermore, the lock 6 has an additional locking element 15 attached to the sash 2, which, in the depicted section plane, is pivoted into a recess 17 of the strike plate 9 by means of a hook 16. The locking bolt 11 is located within a locking recess 18 of the strike plate 9, which indicates the locked state of the lock 6.The additional locking element 15 is screwed into a corner area between the sash overlap 2` and the rebate surface of the sash 2 and covers a part of the mullion rail 13.

[0019] Furthermore, Fig. Figure 2 shows that in the depicted locked state of the lock 6, a mushroom head 19 of the locking bolt 11 faces the hook 16 of the auxiliary locking element 15. This clamps the portion of the strike plate 9 located between the auxiliary locking element 15 and the locking bolt 11. To unlock the lock 6, the locking bolt 11 is first moved out of the locking recess 18 by actuating the drive rod 5. The sash 2 can then be swung away from the frame 1, thereby swinging the hook 16 of the auxiliary locking element 115 out of the recess 17 of the strike plate 9.

[0020] Fig. Figure 3 shows the components of the closure 6. Fig. Figure 2 is shown in a perspective view. For clarity, the base 12, which connects the strike plate 9 to the frame 1, is shown separated from the other components. The additional locking element 15 has two spaced-apart hooks 16, 16', each engaging a recess 17, 17' in the strike plate 9. The two recesses 17, 17' are separated by a bridge 20. The strike plate 9 is symmetrical and can therefore be used for both right- and left-hinged sashes 2.

[0021] Fig. Figure 4 illustrates the additional locking element 15 with the two hooks 16, 16' in a perspective view. At its ends, the additional locking element 15 has lateral ribs 21, 22 for lateral overlapping of the in Fig. 3 shown strike plate 9. In addition, there are two bores 23, 24 for the passage of in Fig. 2 and Fig. The three fastening screws 25 shown are for screwing the additional strike plate 15 to the sash 2. The additional strike plate 15 has a symmetrical design and can therefore be used for both right- and left-hinged sashes 2.

[0022] Fig. Figure 5 shows in perspective another embodiment of a closure 106, which is derived from the Fig. 3 differs only in that an additional locking element 115 has only a single hook 116. The strike plate 9 is the same as the one from Fig. 3. In an alternative embodiment not shown, a strike plate with only a single recess can also be used. Otherwise, the closure 106 is like the one shown in Fig. 3 built.

[0023] Fig. Figure 6 illustrates the additional strike plate 115 in a perspective view. Fig. 5. The additional strike plate 115 has two holes 123, 124 for screwing it to the sash 2. Fig. 1.

[0024] Fig. Figure 7 shows another embodiment of a closure 206, which is derived from the Fig. 3 differs by an angled design of an additional locking element 215. The strike plate 9 is the same as that from Fig. 3. In an alternative embodiment not shown, a strike plate with only a single recess can also be used.

[0025] Fig. Figure 8 shows the additional strike plate 215 in perspective. Fig. 7. The additional strike plate 215 has a long leg 226 with a bore 223. A hook 216, which pivots into the strike plate 9, projects from the long leg 226.
