Abstract

1. Designation: Head for silicone cartridge (nozzle cap) 2. Summary: After extended non-use, silicone dries out in the cartridge near the dispensing nozzle and can no longer be reused. The material is lost and must be replaced with new material. This leads to waste and additional costs. DE 10 2022 003 899.4 proposes a tool for cutting a silicone cartridge. Using this tool results in the front part of the cartridge near the dispensing nozzle being completely cut off, along with the dried-in material. 3. Solution to the problem: This requires a new plastic cartridge head in the form of a lid, which can be inserted flush into the cartridge separated by the axial cut.

Description

Initial situationIn connection with the question of the further use of silicone, which is dried by prolonged non-use, for example by home workers who do not consume the entire material content of the cartridge, a tool for cutting a silicone cartridge has been proposed in DE 10 2022 003 899.4.When using this tool, it follows that the front part of the cartridge is completely cut off in the region of the extrusion nozzle together with the dried-in material. Although the silicone located behind the dried-in area can thus be reused, the cartridge, which was then closed, is now open in its front end in the area of the extrusion nozzle through the complete axial section. In this state, the remaining silicone can no longer be forced out of the cartridge with the aid of the pressing-out device. It is necessary to close them again in this area by a new cartridge head, which also contains the dispensing nozzle, in such a way that the desired function is restored and the material can be reused as in the original.For this purpose, a new cartridge head made of plastic in the form of a cover is required, which can be inserted flush into the cartridge separated by the axial section. Externally, it has a shape very similar to the previous pressing-out region of the cartridge, since it is intended to assume its function.This cover does not have to be rigidly connected to the cartridge. It is sufficient to insert it easily, since it is pressed by the use of the pressing-out device against its front nozzle receiving surface, through which the pressing-out nozzle also projects, and thus restores the original usability of the silicone cartridge. The new cartridge head thus produced is thus pressed against the pressing-out device and thus seals the cartridge in an airtight manner.In this way, it becomes possible to further use the remaining material remaining in the cartridge.If, again, not all is required, the material portion which has been redried after a certain time can be removed exactly as described in DE 10 2022 003 899.4, namely by separating this cartridge region by the required amount through the described axial section.However, the cap-shaped cartridge head is also lost and must be replaced. Claims

Head for a silicone cartridge, consisting of a cover with, on the one hand, an edge running around the circumference of the cover and, on the other hand, a pressing nozzle, characterized in that the running edge of the cover can be inserted into a cartridge separated by an axial section, so that the cover terminates the separated cartridge flush, wherein the cover can be pressed against its front nozzle receiving surface, through which the pressing nozzle of the cover, when a pressing device is used, in such a way that the separated cartridge is sealed air-tightly.
