Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a receiving device for a cigarette box, cigarettes and cigarette butts.
[0002] It is estimated that two-thirds of all cigarettes smoked worldwide end up carelessly on the ground. In numbers, that amounts to approximately 4.5 trillion cigarette butts per year. Due to their lightness, these cigarette butts are carried by wind and rain into nature and our waterways. They are the most commonly found waste along coasts and on sidewalks and squares in every city. Cigarette filters take 10 to 15 years to completely decompose. The toxic ingredients in a filter are dissolved by moisture and contaminate the groundwater.
[0003] From utility model CN 2 02 680475 U a holder for cigarettes and cigarette butts is known as the closest prior art
[0004] Utility model DE 20 2005 002 241 U1 discloses a device designed as an ashtray for holding a cigarette pack and cigarette butts. The rectangular, open-topped body is sized so that smoked cigarette butts can be collected and sealed with a cigarette pack inserted into the hollow body, which is open on one side. A disadvantage is the risk that any still-glowing cigarette butts could ignite a cigarette pack inserted into the hollow body.
[0005] A cigarette box with a butt box is documented in utility model DE 20 2018 102 430 U1. The device consists of a rectangular, closed housing with a hinged lid at the top for loading or removing a cigarette box. At the bottom of the housing there is another hollow space which is designed in such a way that a butt box can be accommodated like a drawer and can be opened horizontally to remove the cigarette butts. The disadvantages of the described prior art, however, are that, on the one hand, a rectangular shaped body with a double bottom is complex to produce and, on the other hand, the butt box shown has a low storage capacity for cigarette butts.
[0006] The present invention is therefore based on the object of further developing a receiving device for receiving a cigarette box, cigarettes and cigarette butts and thereby overcoming the aforementioned disadvantages.
[0007] The problem is solved by the characterizing features of claim 1.
[0008] The receiving device according to the invention comprises two hollow bodies which can be pushed into an outer casing and which both have a rectangular housing shape.
[0009] According to the invention, in a first embodiment, a first hollow body is formed as an outer housing, which has an openable housing lid on its upper side, which is preferably opened or closed manually. As an alternative to manual operation, a spring-loaded snap mechanism is also possible. The outer shape of this housing follows the shape of a commercially available cigarette pack. When the lid is closed, a five-sided closed hollow body is formed, with the underside being open. Guide grooves running downward in the middle are formed on the inner sides of the two narrow side surfaces. Circular finger depressions are provided at the front or back, enabling two fingers to grip and pull out or push in a further hollow body located inside the housing.
[0010] In a further embodiment, a second hollow body open at the top is provided as an ashtray, which is dimensioned such that it can be inserted completely into the outer housing from below or from above due to the beveled top of the two side surfaces. This ensures that the entire receiving device is not much larger than a cigarette pack.
[0011] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the ashtray is captively connected to the outer housing. For this purpose, retaining pins are formed on the top and center of both sides of the ashtray. When the ashtray is inserted into the outer housing, the retaining pins fit into the respective guide grooves of the outer housing. This limits the ashtray's ability to be pulled out and prevents it from accidentally falling out.
[0012] Furthermore, the invention provides for a sliding element that can be opened and closed horizontally to be attached to the front of the ashtray. By opening the sliding element, a cigarette butt can be disposed of into the cavity. The cavity thus also functions as an ashtray, whose volume grows with the number of cigarette butts placed inside. While designed to hold 20 cigarettes, the ashtray offers space for the same number of cigarette butts. The ratio of the capacity of cigarettes to cigarette butts is 1:1.
[0013] To eliminate the risk of fire from a lit cigarette butt, the cigarette pack is not placed directly over the opening of the outer casing on the ashtray. In another advantageous embodiment, a third hollow body, a cigarette box, is inserted into the outer casing to hold a cigarette pack or cigarettes. The closed bottom of the open-top cigarette box eliminates any connection between the cigarette pack and the ashtray. Thus, a lit cigarette butt is extinguished by pressing the ashtray together with the cigarette box within the outer casing.
[0014] In a further preferred embodiment, the entire receiving device, the outer housing, the ashtray, and the cigarette box are made of a temperature-resistant, fireproof, non-combustible, or flame-retardant material. Preferably, tinplate, aluminum, hard plastic, or leather.
[0015] The invention will be explained in more detail using a preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings. They show: Fig. 1 a perspective view of the outer enclosure. Fig. 2 a perspective view of the ashtray. Fig. 3 a perspective view of the cigarette box. Fig. 4 a perspective view of the outer enclosure with cigarette box. Fig. 5 a perspective exploded view of the entire holding device
[0016] Further developments, advantages, and possible applications of the invention will become apparent from the following description of exemplary embodiments and from the figures. All described and / or illustrated features, individually or in any combination, are fundamentally the subject of the invention, regardless of their summary in the claims or their reference back to them. The content of the claims is also incorporated into the description.
[0017] In Fig. 1 is shown in a perspective view as the outer housing 2, which is made in a known manner from a cellulose-containing material as a hard box. The outer housing 2 is designed like a cigarette box. While the hollow body is open on the underside, it has a housing lid 3 on the top, which is movably molded onto the outer housing 2, can be manually opened and closed, and opens or closes an interior space. In an alternative embodiment, a spring-loaded snap mechanism with a closure 11 is provided instead of the manual operation of the housing lid 3.
[0018] On the two side surfaces of the outer housing 2, guide grooves 4 are provided on the inside, running centrally downwards. When inserting the ashtray 6, the guide grooves 4 on the side surfaces of the ashtray 6 fit into the Fig. 2 externally mounted retaining pins 7 into the guide grooves 4 of the outer housing 2. This ensures a precise guide of the ashtray 6 in the outer housing 2 and also limits the extension length. When retracted, the ashtray disappears. Fig. 2 completely within the outer housing 2. To use the ashtray 6, two finger recesses 5 are provided on the long side of the outer housing 2. They allow the ashtray 6 to be gripped and pulled out of the outer housing 2 or pushed into the outer housing 2.
[0019] Fig. Figure 2 shows a perspective view of the hollow body of the ashtray 6 in the typical shape of a cigarette box. The retaining pins 7 molded onto the slopes of the two side surfaces are positioned centrally on the respective side surfaces. The front side, which is smaller in area than the rear side, is equipped with a sliding element 8 that can be slid out horizontally to the left and right. The resulting opening allows the disposal of a cigarette butt into the cavity of the ashtray 6.
[0020] In a modification of the described embodiment, the slide element 8 is a flap formed into the front of the ashtray 6.
[0021] The Fig. The cigarette box 9 shown in Figure 3 is also modeled on the shape of a cigarette packet and is designed as a hollow body open at the top. The function of the cigarette box 9 is to hold a cigarette packet or cigarettes and to spatially separate the ashtray 6 from the cardboard cigarette box. This counteracts the fire hazard posed by still glowing cigarette remains. The cigarette box 9 is designed in such a way that a circumferential bead 10 is attached to the upper outer edge. If the cigarette box 9 is pushed from above into the outer wrapping 2, a circumferential gap for accommodating the ashtray 6 is created between the inner wall of the outer wrapping 2 and the outer wall of the cigarette box 9.
[0022] Fig. 4 shows in perspective the cigarette box 9 completely inserted into the outer wrapping 2 with its circumferential bead 10.
[0023] In Fig.5 shows all components of the receiving device 12 in perspective. The ashtray 6 is inserted via its holding pins 7 into the guide grooves 4 of the outer housing 2. Due to the precisely fitting design of the holding pins 7 and guide grooves 4, a friction-locked and / or clamping connection is created, which ensures that the ashtray 6 does not slide out of the outer housing 2 by itself and thus causes an unintentional emptying. The outer dimensions of the ashtray 6 are dimensioned such that it can be completely inserted into the outer housing 2. The cigarette box 9 inserted from above through the opening of the outer housing 2 fits in its dimensions into the ashtray 6 already inserted into the outer housing 2 and is intended for receiving a commercially available cigarette pack or cigarettes.
[0024] After sliding the ashtray 6 out of the outer housing 2, the slide element 8 is exposed. Horizontally opening the slide element releases the resulting cavity between the ashtray 6 and the bottom of the cigarette box 9, allowing a cigarette butt to be disposed of. Pushing the ashtray 6 back into the outer housing 2 crushes a still-glowing cigarette butt between the bottom of the ashtray 6 and the bottom of the cigarette box 9. The embers are extinguished.
[0025] The ashtray 6 can hold approximately 20 cigarettes or a standard cigarette pack, and the same number of cigarette butts. The cigarette to cigarette butt capacity ratio is 1:1. The volume of the storage device 12 only changes when the ashtray 6 is full.
[0026] In a further, preferred embodiment, the entire receiving device 12, the outer housing 2, the ashtray 6 and the cigarette box 9 are partially or completely made of white sheet metal, aluminum, hard plastic, leather or other non-combustible or difficult-to-combust materials.
