Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a display unit for a vehicle and to a vehicle having such a display unit.In modern vehicles, displays are increasingly being used for informing passengers, in particular for entertainment. Frequently, displays with a so-called "notch" camera are used in this case. Displays with a notch camera use specific panels in which a specific section area for the camera is created. A dead edge produced as a result interferes with the active display area of the display, as a result of which contents on the display are displayed asymmetrically and / or not in full format. The displayed contents then do not appear centrally and centrally, which may give the impression of inferior execution. Display panels with a notch camera are also typically not standard parts; a higher piece price results due to special production.US 2021 / 0276419 A1 relates to an apparatus for a vehicle having a support structure which is suitable for supporting a display panel, having a drive arrangement which is capable of selectively driving the support structure in such a way that it rotates about a first axis or rotates about a second axis, wherein the first axis is different from the second axis, and having a sensor arrangement which is arranged at a first fixed position along a rotational path about the first axis and at a second fixed position along a rotational path about the second axis, wherein the sensor arrangement is configured to selectively directly detect the support structure at the first and the second fixed position. WO 2008 / 064 785 A2 shows a hand-held computer device with a rotatable display. CN 103 809 682 A describes a swivel mount and a gravity sensor to adjust the screen display in response to a rotation of a screen. WO 2022 / 033336 A1 relates to a vehicle comprising a camera for capturing images in the vehicle, a control system provided in the vehicle and a central control screen in the vehicle interior. Finally, US 2014 / 0153168 A1 discloses a display system including a display panel that displays information and a moving device that moves the display panel. It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved display with a camera for a vehicle integrated therein, which does not have the above-mentioned disadvantages. The invention results from the features of the independent claims. Advantageous refinements and refinements are the subject matter of the dependent claims.A first aspect of the invention relates to a display unit for a vehicle, having a display region for the dynamic display of contents, and a frame which encloses the display region, wherein a camera and an input region are respectively integrated into the frame on opposite sides of the frame and are arranged outside the display region, and furthermore having a rotatable mounting for rotating the display region about a perpendicular to a surface of the display region, characterized in that the frame and the display region are fixed to one another, such that the input region is likewise rotated when the display region is rotated about the rotatable mounting, and in that the input region is configured and designed to display input elements in a positionally stable manner, such that they maintain their original orientation when the display region is rotated. The dynamic display of contents means in particular that image media such as a video data stream can be displayed on the display area. The display unit is preferably to be provided for a rear area of a vehicle, i.e. in particular for passengers on a rear bench. Here, display units may be disposed at a rear side of a driving seat and a passenger seat, respectively. The integration of a camera and an input area, which is preferably designed as a touchpad, into the frame around the display area allows an integrated / one-piece design of frame and display area. The camera and the input area are integrated into the frame itself, in order to be separated from the display area on the one hand, so that they do not interfere with the display of contents on the display area; on the other hand, they are integrated near the display area, which has advantages in the operation or for the capture area of the camera. The display area may be rotated about the rotatable support, in particular from a horizontal position to a vertical position and vice versa, in order to be able to selectively consume contents with the display area in landscape format or portrait format. Because of the one-piece embodiment of frame and display area described above with the integration of camera and input area in the frame, both the camera and the input area with the frame are rotated together with the display area, when the display area is rotated, in particular, by 90°, as described, substantially in a vertical plane, in order to achieve the change from landscape to portrait and vice versa. However, one or more input elements are also displayed in the input area. The input elements allow the user inputs to be performed, in particular for presetting such a rotation of the display area for changing from the landscape to the portrait of the display area or vice versa. In order that the operation nevertheless remains intuitive and simple when the input region rotates together with the display region as described, the input elements displayed in the input region are rotated in opposite directions when the display region rotates, in particular at the same speed as the rotational angular speed of the display region in terms of amount. The input elements thus advantageously remain positionally stable for the observer. If, for example, a rectangular display area is rotated from its orientation in landscape format substantially in a vertical plane by 90°, so that it is oriented in portrait format upon completion of the rotation, an arrow oriented horizontally before the rotation is also oriented horizontally after the rotation. The arrow can symbolise a possible input command for a user, for example a desired rotation of the display area. It is understood that, as an alternative to the arrow mentioned by way of example, any other symbols can be used, for example a more circular symbol for a desired rotation of the display area.Likewise advantageously, but not necessarily, the relative position of a plurality of input elements with respect to one another is likewise retained in a positionally stable manner when the display region is rotated. This means that horizontally lined input elements, i.e. symbols, always also remain horizontal, regardless of the rotation of the display area about the rotatable mounting. This facilitates intuitive operation of the display unit. However, they can also be transferred from a horizontal row in a vertical row and vice versa.Particularly preferably, the frame is formed symmetrically about two axes of symmetry running through a geometric center of the frame and perpendicular to one another. Thus, in the case of two display areas provided for the rear bench, which are each rotated into the portrait format, the frames look the same shape for a viewer, although one frame has been rotated in the clockwise direction and the other has been rotated in the counterclockwise direction, in order to meet the requirement for the door-side arrangement of the camera.According to an advantageous embodiment, the frame extends convexly around the camera and around the input region, each directed outwards away from the display region.Since the camera and the input area are arranged outside the display area and the desired contents can be displayed on the display area in full resolution and size, the space requirement required therewith is kept correspondingly small by the convex extension. The frame is advantageously designed to be wider in particular only where the camera and input region are integrated into the frame. Such an extension is preferably made smooth, in order to be able to avoid as much as possible, in particular, right-angled corners and other large convex bulges which protrude from the display area. Rather, a rather diamond-shaped circumferential shape of the frame is sought in order to achieve rather obtuse angles in the region of the extensions. The term "convex" as used above and below refers to a viewer looking at the frame from the outside; the frame widens from the display area outwards in the area of the camera and in the area of the input area.According to a further advantageous embodiment, the frame forms a roof-shaped tip around the camera and around the input region. Roof-shaped means in this context that, in the case of the local widening of the frame around the camera and around the input region, a gable-shaped tip is provided, under which the camera or the input region is arranged. The display area can be provided at least substantially rectangular between the extensions of the frame. This produces in particular a circumferential shape of the frame in the form of a polygon.According to a further advantageous embodiment, a periphery of the frame is composed of six straight line segments, wherein two of the line segments are parallel to one another and lie opposite one another, two further line segments form a roof-shaped course with the camera in the region of a tip of the roof-shaped course, and in turn two further line segments form a roof-shaped course with the input region in the region of a tip of the roof-shaped course. The frame is created with this embodiment in a conceptual manner in that a rectangle is used as a conceptual starting model for the frame, but two opposite edges of the rectangle are folded in a central conceptual manner and are expanded outwards in a roof-shaped manner at the folding points to produce a tip. This advantageously has the effect that in a horizontal orientation of the display area, i.e. in landscape format, additional space for the knees of an occupant can be reached on a rear bench, since the frame tapers outwards starting from the center of an underside (in the orientation in landscape format) of the frame, in which in particular the input area is located. This tapering shape (on the side of the frame with the camera and on the side of the frame with the input area) occurs in the portrait orientation of the display unit as a bilateral tapering in the knee area of the occupant, wherein the frame expands vertically upward to the respective center of the frame side, where the camera and input area are located, in order to again taper further upward.According to the invention, the input region is designed to display an input element which receives the command for rotating the display region about the rotatable mounting.According to a further advantageous embodiment, the display unit further comprises an inclination joint for tilting the display area together with the frame about an axis of rotation lying in a plane of the display area.A further aspect of the invention relates to a vehicle having a display unit as described above and below.According to a further advantageous embodiment, the display unit is arranged in the vehicle such that the rotatable mounting allows a rotation of the display area in a vertical plane.According to a further advantageous embodiment, only such a rotation of the display area about the rotatable mounting is possible that from a starting position of the display unit, in which the camera is located above the display area, a rotation of the display area into a set-up position takes place, in which the camera is located laterally of the display area on a side facing a door of the vehicle closest to the display unit relative to the display area. Thus, the camera is respectively arranged on the door side of the display unit when the display area has been rotated into a portrait format.Advantages and preferred refinements of the proposed vehicle result from an analog and analogous transmission of the explanations given above in connection with the proposed display unit.Further advantages, features and details are evident from the following description, in which--possibly with reference to the drawing--at least one exemplary embodiment is described in detail. The following are shown: FIG. 1 : A conventional display unit according to the prior art. FIG. 2 : A display unit according to an embodiment of the invention. FIG. 3 : Details of a display unit according to an embodiment of the invention. The representations in the figures are schematic and not to scale.FIG. 1 shows a conventional embodiment of display units for vehicles in two variants. Partial image (A) shows the variant in which, although a camera 5 and an input region 7 are integrated into the frame 3, the available area for the display region 1 is thereby reduced. In partial image (B), the display area 1 is partially hidden by the camera 5 and the input area 7. This interferes with the reproduction of contents on the display area 1.FIG. 2 shows an exemplary display unit, in particular for arrangement on the rear side of a driver's seat of a vehicle beneath the neck rest, so that the content displayed there can be viewed by a passenger on the rear bench of the vehicle on a display region 1 of the display unit. The display area 1 is surrounded by a frame 3, in which a camera 5 is integrated on a first side and an input area 7, designed as a touch-sensitive display, is integrated on an opposite side of the display area 1. In the region of the camera 5 and in the region of the input region 7 of the frame 3, the frame 3 widens and forms a respective roof over the camera 5 and over the input region 7, wherein a respective tip 11 (see FIG. 3 ) rises above the camera 5 or over the input region 7. While two opposite sides of the frame 3 are parallel on their outer side, two other sides are formed in a kinked manner and mirror-symmetrical with respect to one another, wherein a respective tip 11 of the roof is located centrally on these sides. Thus, on at least two sides of the frames 3, the edges of the frame 3 taper towards their ends starting from the camera 5 or the input region 7, while on orthogonal sides the edges of the frame 3 are embodied in a straight line and are thus parallel. In the partial image (A) of FIG. 2, the display unit is shown in a landscape orientation, but this can be converted into a portrait orientation around a rotatable mounting, compare partial image (B) of FIG. 2, in this case, after the rotation has ended, the camera 5 is shown on a left side of the display, i.e. the partial image (B) is viewed by a passenger on the rear bench on the left side and the closest side door of the vehicle is located on the left next side of the passenger. However, by making the tips 11 symmetrical, that is, making the frame 3 symmetrical at its sides having the tips 11, regardless of the rotational direction of the display unit, the frame 3 acts identically in shape to a viewer with respect to the respective display device for mounting behind the driver seat and for mounting behind the passenger seat.FIG. 3 is an enlarged fragmentary view of portions of a display unit similar to that of FIG. 2, but the display unit associated with the portion of FIG. 3 is an example of a display unit for mounting on the rear of a passenger seat so that after the display unit is rotated clockwise, the camera 5 disposed in the frame 3 is located to the right, i.e., again at the nearest door for the right-seated passenger on a rear bench of the vehicle, while the display unit in FIG. 2 is rotated counterclockwise from partial image (A) to partial image (B) because it is provided for placement on the rear of a driver seat. In FIG. 3, a section of the display unit is shown more clearly and enlarged, which comprises the input region 7. This is enclosed in the frame 3 and input elements 9 are displayed in a positionally stable manner on the input region 7. These input elements 9 comprise symbols for a desired rotation about a horizontal axis, so that the rotation can take place from a portrait format into a landscape format and vice versa for the display area 1 together with the frame 3 and thus the entire display unit, and symbols for a desired tilting of the display unit about a horizontal axis in the plane of the display area 1. While field (A) shows a horizontal orientation of the display unit for orienting the display area 1 in landscape format, the display area 1 in field (B) is rotated to portrait format, but the input elements 9 maintain their orientation as already provided in field (A).Although the invention has been illustrated and explained in more detail by preferred exemplary embodiments, the invention is not restricted by the disclosed examples and other variations can be derived therefrom by the person skilled in the art without departing from the scope of protection of the invention. It is therefore clear that a large number of possible variations exist. It is also clear that embodiments mentioned by way of example represent only examples which are not to be understood in any way as limiting, for example, the scope of protection, the possible applications or the configuration of the invention. Rather, the preceding description and the description of the figures enable the person skilled in the art to implement the exemplary embodiments in concrete terms, wherein the person skilled in the art, knowing the disclosed inventive concept, can make various changes, for example with regard to the function or the arrangement of individual elements mentioned in an exemplary embodiment, without departing from the scope of protection defined by the claims and their legal equivalents, such as further explanations in the description.List of reference characters1 Display area 3 Frame 5 Camera 7 Input area 9 Input elements 11 Tip
