Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a lightweight camping furniture panel for mobile home or caravan conversion and a lightweight camping furniture door or flap according to the preambles of claims 1 and 7.
[0002] A dowel and a method for installing a dowel in a lightweight panel are known, DE 10 2009 044 210 A1, in which the dowel, which is inserted into the lightweight panel through a hole in the cover layer and the core layer up to the inside of the counter layer, is then welded onto it by ultrasonic welding.
[0003] Such a dowel and in particular the process for installing this dowel in a lightweight panel require a very high level of labor and tooling, and production takes a considerable amount of time, so that the production of lightweight panels equipped with such dowels is overall very uneconomical.
[0004] It is also known to place a single wooden insert with the thickness of a honeycomb core between the cover layers, but this unnecessarily increases the overall weight of a lightweight furniture panel and carries the risk of it showing on the outside of the cover layer.
[0005] Another publication is known: La Roche, Günther: Solar Generators for Space Travel: Fundamentals of Photovoltaic Solar Generator Technology for Space Applications. Wiesbaden: Springer Fachmedien, 1997. pp. 211-212. ISBN 978-3-663-11384-3. The panel has only thin, single or partially doubled, but weakly load-bearing covering skins as cover and counter layers, as well as insulation foils and honeycomb cores of varying density and honeycomb core thickness carbon fiber blocks with integrated bushings between the covering skins, making such panels unsuitable for use in a mobile home conversion.
[0006] Also known is a furniture element for a furniture system and such a furniture system, DE 10 2013 213 451 A1, which shows a honeycomb core, but not a honeycomb core with flat recesses for inserts into which mechanical screws can be screwed through a cover layer, since the known furniture element forms a fixed component of a furniture body and the load-bearing capacity is provided by a surrounding frame.
[0007] The known lightweight panel, DE 10 2007 034 544 A1, also has a honeycomb core between two cover layers, but only reveals differently colored honeycomb cores corresponding to different properties of the honeycomb core.
[0008] Furthermore, a publication is known: WIEDEMANN, Johannes: Lightweight Construction. Vol. 2: Construction. 2nd ed. Berlin: Springer, 1996, p. 83. - ISBN: 978-3-642-64663-8, which discloses sandwich panels with honeycomb cores between cover layers, but not with flat recesses for inserts into which mechanical screws can be permanently screwed through a cover layer, but only honeycomb-thick bushings or cast resins.
[0009] The object of the invention is to provide a lightweight camping furniture panel for the conversion of a motorhome or caravan and a lightweight camping furniture door or flap constructed therefrom, which do not require such a complex fastening device for a dowel or even completely without dowels and corresponding fastening methods as well as without the use of heavy, honeycomb-thick solid wood strips.
[0010] The solution to this problem arises in conjunction with the features of the preambles of claims 1 and 7 together with their characterising features.
[0011] The camping furniture lightweight panel for mobile home or caravan construction, which usually consists of a cover layer, a core layer and a counter layer, which are glued together by means of an adhesive and which is equipped with a reinforcement in the area of furniture fittings or objects to be arranged on or on the camping furniture lightweight panel, has according to the invention in the core layer, under an area of furniture fittings to be arranged on the cover layer or on the counter layer, with a flat recess facing the respective cover layer or counter layer, into which a flat insert with the thickness of the depth of the recess is inserted.
[0012] With such a construction, the lightweight camping furniture panel according to the invention and the camping furniture doors or flaps produced from it do not require the use of appropriate dowels for the installation or assembly of furniture fittings, as such furniture fittings can be very robustly attached to the surfaces of the lightweight furniture panels or camping furniture doors or flaps using conventional screws with very high pull-out values. A costly and technically complex ultrasonic welding device can therefore be completely eliminated.
[0013] Such a construction is advantageously suitable for all conceivable cover and counter layers as well as all conceivable core layers, especially those that do not have high tensile forces, such as cardboard or polystyrene cores.
[0014] According to the invention, the insert is bonded to the respective cover layer or counter layer in the recess and to the core layer, so that the flat recesses for the insert do not weaken the core layer, but rather actually increase the strength of the entire component. Furthermore, the insert, which serves as a support for screws driven through the cover layer or counter layer, consists of a strip-shaped material that is particularly solid and has a high pull-out force for screws screwed into it. This means that, for example, plywood strips, other wooden strips, or even plastic strips can be used, depending on the properties required for the lightweight camping furniture panel or the lightweight camping furniture door or flap made from it.Furthermore, the insert strip has a thickness which is approximately or identical to the thickness of the top layer or the counter layer, but which can also be larger and can amount to a maximum of half the thickness of the core layer.
[0015] Further advantageous embodiments of the subject matter of the invention result from and in combination with the following subclaims.
[0016] It is of course also conceivable to insert several strip-shaped inserts into several recesses of the core layer from one side or the other, which can also be made of different materials in order to be able to withstand different mechanical loads if necessary.
[0017] Advantageously, several inserts can be arranged alternately or opposite each other under the cover layer and the counter layer, so that the manufacturers of lightweight camping furniture are not restricted in their design freedom and the lightweight camping furniture panels can be designed in any desired design of cover layers, counter layers, core layers and reinforcements.
[0018] According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the camping furniture lightweight panel, it consists of a cover layer and a counter layer made of wood-based material with or without decoration, just as the core layer is made of a cardboard honeycomb core, so that when using an insert also made of wood-based material such as plywood, complete recyclability of a camping furniture made with such a panel can be achieved.
[0019] Preferably, the recess of the insert is milled into the core layer, whereby, since the core layer preferably consists of a cardboard honeycomb core, no very complex devices can be used for this purpose, which also then have a very long service life, since the cardboard honeycomb core material offers little mechanical resistance to its processing.
[0020] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the insert and the recess are only introduced in partial sections of a camping furniture lightweight construction panel, so that the overall dead weight of such a camping furniture lightweight construction panel and thus the camping furniture lightweight construction doors or flaps constructed from it can be made even lighter.
[0021] According to a particularly preferred embodiment of a lightweight camping furniture door or flap provided with hinges, handles, locks and / or other attached components and hooks, the components are fastened thereto by means of screws screwed through the cover layer or the counter layer into the insert(s) without dowels, so that each furniture maker has a very large degree of freedom in the arrangement of such furniture fittings, without being limited to pre-defined and welded-in dowels in his design work.
[0022] According to a particularly preferred embodiment of such a lightweight camping furniture door or flap, the screws are even screwed through the cover or counter layer and core layer into the insert or through this into the lightweight camping furniture panel without pre-drilling, so that pre-drilling of drill holes can be completely dispensed with, which further extends the creative freedom of a furniture designer and makes the assembly of camping furniture significantly more economical.
[0023] Below is a detailed description of a lightweight camping furniture panel. It shows: Fig. 1 a cross-section through a lightweight camping furniture panel.
[0024] The camping furniture lightweight panel 1 for the construction of a mobile home or caravan consists of a cover layer 2, a core layer 3 and a counter layer 4, which are glued together by means of an adhesive 5, as well as of flat inserts 7, which are inserted in flat recesses 6 in the core layer 4 directly beneath a cover layer 2 or counter layer 4.
[0025] The cover layer 2 and the counter layer 4 are made of any desired panel material, in particular wood, MDF, or HDF. The core layer 3 can also be made of any desired material, particularly a very lightweight one, such as a cardboard honeycomb core.
[0026] The recesses 6 are preferably milled into the core layer 3, although depending on the design, they may also be cut or otherwise introduced there. The inserts 7 serve as abutments for screws driven through the cover layer 2 or the counter layer 4. Neither the cover layer 2 or the counter layer 4 nor the insert 7 need to be pre-drilled, although they may, of course, have such pre-drilled holes.
[0027] The insert 7 consists of a strip-shaped solid material, which in particular should also have a low specific weight and be able to give a screw sufficient hold, whereby in the embodiment according to Fig. 1 these inserts 7 are made of plywood.
[0028] Furniture fittings, decorative strips, or any other objects can then be arranged above the inserts 7 by simply screwing screws through corresponding screw holes in the components on a lightweight camping furniture panel or a lightweight camping furniture door or flap made from it. Dowels, as used in the prior art, are not required in this embodiment, since the inserts 7 ensure a very high pull-out strength of screws from the lightweight camping furniture panel.
[0029] All components are connected to one another by means of an adhesive 5, so that when lightweight individual components are selected, a very lightweight sandwich furniture panel is produced, particularly for mobile home or caravan conversion.
[0030] The insert 7 has a thickness that is approximately identical to the thickness of the cover layer 2 or the counter layer 4, or even slightly larger, up to a maximum of half the thickness of the core layer. The inserts 7 can be arranged alternately or opposite one another under the cover layer 2 or the counter layer 4, wherein additional longitudinal grooves 8 can be introduced from the outside into the cover layer 2 or the counter layer 4, which are less deep than the thickness of a cover layer 2 or the counter layer 4, wherein, for example, decorative or functional strips can be inserted into such a longitudinal groove 8.
