Abstract

The invention relates to a locking mechanism for an extension profile of a cover, which locking mechanism is mounted on an extension profile of a cover installed in the trunk of a motor vehicle, wherein the extension profile (1) can be locked to a side wall of the trunk by means of an extension profile locking mechanism (5), wherein the extension profile locking mechanism (5) is modular and comprises a base (50), a locking assembly (60) and an unlocking assembly (70), wherein the locking assembly (60) is mounted in an insert (52) on one side of the base (50) such that it can be rotatably extended out of the insert (52) to lock the insert (52) to the side wall, wherein the insert (52) is unlocked by causing the locking assembly (60) to rotate by pressing on the unlocking assembly (70).
