Abstract

The invention relates to a resistance welding electrode (10) comprising an electrode holder (12) and an electrode cap (14) which is detachably attached to the electrode holder (12), wherein the electrode holder (12) has a coolant bore (16) for supplying a coolant to the electrode cap (14) and a cooling tube (18) received in the coolant bore (16). The invention is characterized in that the cooling tube (18) has a geometry that generates turbulent flow within the coolant supplied to the electrode cap (14).
