[0017] A specific example of the technique disclosed by this specification will be described below with reference to the drawings. It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to these illustrations, but is represented by the claims, and is intended to embrace all changes within the scope of the claims, as well as within the meaning and range of equivalents. <Ausführungsform>

[0018] An embodiment is described with reference to Fig. 1 to 11. As described in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, a connector 1 of this embodiment is a lever type connector provided with a housing 10 (an example of a base member) for holding terminal fittings connected to ends of wires, and a lever 40 (an example of a mounting member) to be mounted to the housing 10 and configured to assist a connecting operation of the connector 10 and a mating connector 70. [Case 10]

[0019] The housing 10 is made of synthetic resin and is provided with an inner housing 20 and an outer housing 30 for holding the inner housing 20.

[0020] The inner housing 20 is block-shaped and can accommodate the terminal fittings that are connected to the ends of the wires inside. It should be noted that the inner housing 20 is schematically shown in Fig. 3, but is not shown in the other drawings.

[0021] As in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the outer casing 30 includes a fitting tube portion 31 having openings at both ends, capable of receiving the mating connector 70 therein, an inner holding portion 33 disposed inside the fitting tube portion 31, and two rotating shafts 35.

[0022] The fitting tube portion 31 includes two end walls (first end wall 31A and second end wall 31B) arranged to face each other, and two lever retaining walls (first lever retaining wall 31C and second lever retaining wall 31D) connecting end portions of the two end walls 31A, 31B, and has an overall rectangular tube shape. An opening of the fitting tube portion 31 serves as a fitting opening 32 into which the mating connector 70 is insertable.

[0023] The inner holding portion 33 has a tubular shape overall and can accommodate the inner housing 20 therein. The inner housing 20 and the inner holding portion 33 constitute a terminal holding portion 11. Both end parts of the inner holding portion 33 are connected to the two end walls 31A, 31B, respectively. The two lever holding walls 31C, 31D are arranged to be spaced apart from the terminal holding portion 11. Spaces defined by the two lever holding walls 31C, 31D and the terminal holding portion 11 serve as lever receiving portions 34, which are open on a side opposite to the fitting opening 32.

[0024] The two rotary shafts 35 are cylindrical shafts for rotatably supporting the lever 40 and each protrude from the two lever support walls 31C, 31D toward the terminal support portion 11. A retaining projection 36 protrudes from each rotary shaft 35 to retain the lever 40. The retaining projection 36 is disposed adjacent to the projecting end of the rotary shaft 35. [Lever 40]

[0025] The lever 40 is a member for supporting the connection and separation of the housing 10 and the mating connector 70. The lever 40 is made of synthetic resin and is, as shown in Fig. 5, is provided with two leg portions (first leg portion 51 and second leg portion 61) and a rotary portion 44 which couples end parts of the two leg portions 51, 61, and is U-shaped overall.

[0026] Each of the first and second leg portions 51, 61 has an overall elongated plate shape and is provided with a shaft hole 41 and a gear portion 43 arranged around the shaft hole 41. The shaft hole 41 is a circular hole capable of receiving the rotary shaft 35 therein. A through recess 42 communicating with the shaft hole 41 to allow the passage of the retaining projection 36 is arranged in a peripheral edge part of the shaft hole 41. The gear portion 43 includes a first gear tooth 43A and a second gear tooth 43B extending radially from the shaft hole 41 as a center. The first and second gear teeth 43A, 43B are arranged at an interval.

[0027] The rotary portion 44 connects base end portions of the two leg portions 51, 61 on a side opposite to the tip portions at which the shaft hole 41 is arranged.

[0028] The tip parts of the two leg sections 51, 61 are each accommodated in the two lever receiving sections 34, as shown in Fig. 3. The first leg portion 51 is arranged along the first lever support wall 31C, and the second leg portion 61 is arranged along the second lever support wall 31D. The lever 40 is rotatably mounted to the housing 10 by inserting the respective rotary shaft 35 into the respective shaft holes 41. The rotary shafts 35 are prevented from coming out of the shaft holes 41 by locking the retaining projections 36 at the peripheral edge portions of the shaft holes 41 in the leg portions 51, 61.

[0029] The lever 40 can be mounted to the housing 10 in two mounting modes. In the first mounting mode, the first leg portion 51 is arranged along the first lever retaining wall 31C and the second leg portion 61 is arranged along the second lever retaining wall 31D. When mounted in the first mounting mode, the lever 40 is movable between a starting position (in Fig. 1 and Fig. 7), in which the rotary portion 44 is arranged near the first end wall 31A, and a connection completion position (in Fig. 9), in which the rotating portion 44 is arranged near the second end wall 31B.

[0030] In the second assembly mode, the first leg portion 51 is arranged along the second lever holding wall 31D and the second leg portion 61 is arranged along the first lever holding wall 31C. During assembly in the second assembly mode, the lever 40 is movable between a starting position (in Fig. 10) in which the rotary portion 44 is arranged near the second end wall 31B, and a connection completion position (in Fig. 11) in which the rotating portion 44 is disposed near the first end wall 31A. The initial position and the connection completion position when the lever 40 is assembled in the first assembly mode are reversed from those when the lever 40 is assembled in the first assembly mode, and rotation directions from the initial position to the connection completion position and from the connection completion position to the initial position of the lever 40 are opposite to those when the lever 40 is assembled with the housing 10 in the first assembly mode. [Identifiers M1, M2]

[0031] As in Fig. 7, Fig. 9, Fig. 10 and Fig. As shown in FIG. 11, two base identifiers 37A, 37B are arranged on the housing 10, two first mounting identifiers 52A, 52B (examples of mounting identifiers) corresponding to the first mounting mode, and two mounting identifiers 62A, 62B (examples of mounting identifiers) corresponding to the second mounting mode are arranged on the lever 50. When the lever 50 is mounted to the housing 10 in the first mounting mode, one of the two base identifiers 37A, 37B and one of the two first mounting identifiers 52A, 52B are adjacent to each other to configure a first identifier M1 (an example of an identifier). Furthermore, when the lever 50 is mounted to the housing 10 in the second mounting mode, one of the two base identifiers 37A, 37B or one of the two second mounting identifiers 62A, 62B are adjacent to each other to configure a second identifier M2 (an example of the identifier). This will be described in more detail below.

[0032] As in Fig. 1 and Fig. As shown in Fig. 7, the outer surface of the first lever holding wall 31C serves as a base identification surface 31F, and the two base identifiers (first base identifier 37A and second base identifier 37B) are engraved at mutually different positions on this base identification surface 31F. In this embodiment, the two base identifiers 37A, 37B consist of four characters in common and represent one type of the housing 10. The first base identifier 37A is located near the first end wall 31A, and the second base identifier 37B is located near the second end wall 31B.

[0033] In the first leg portion 51 of the lever 40, an outer surface opposite to the second leg portion 61 serves as a first mounting identification surface 51F, as shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 7, and the two first mounting identifiers 52A, 52B are engraved in this first mounting identification surface 51F.

[0034] The two first mounting identifiers 52A, 52B consist of four characters in common and represent that the lever 40 is mounted in the first mounting mode. When the lever 40 is mounted in the first mounting mode, the first leg portion 51 is arranged along the first lever support wall 31C, and the first mounting identification surface 51F is arranged to face the same side as the base identification surface 31F. When the lever 40 is in the home position, a first mounting identifier 52A is arranged at a position adjacent to the first base identifier 37A, and the first base identifier 37A and the one first mounting identifier 52A are aligned in a row to configure the first identifier M1 consisting of eight characters, as shown in Fig. 7. When the lever 40 is at the connection completion position, the other first mounting identifier 52B is arranged at a position adjacent to the second base identifier 37B, and the second base identifier 37B and the other first mounting identifier 52B are aligned in a row to configure the first identifier M1 consisting of eight characters, as shown in Fig. 7. 9. The first identifier M1 represents a model number of the connector 1 when the lever 40 is mounted in the first mounting mode.

[0035] In the second leg portion 61 of the lever 40, an outer surface opposite to the first leg portion 51 serves as a second mounting identification surface 61F, as shown in Fig. 10, and the two second mounting identifiers 62A, 62B are engraved in this second mounting identification surface 61F.

[0036] The two second mounting identifiers 62A, 62B consist of four common characters that are different from the first mounting identifiers 52A, 52B. The two second mounting identifiers 62A, 62B represent that the lever 40 is mounted in the second mounting mode. When the lever 40 is mounted in the second mounting mode, the second leg portion 61 is arranged along the first lever support wall 31C, and the second mounting identification surface 61F is arranged to face the same side as the base identification surface 31F. When the lever 40 is in the home position, a second mounting identifier 62A is arranged at a position adjacent to the second base identifier 37B, and the second base identifier 37B and the one second mounting identifier 62A are aligned in a row to configure the second identifier M2 consisting of eight characters, as shown in Fig. 10. When the lever 40 is at the connection completion position, the other second mounting identifier 62B is arranged at a position adjacent to the first base identifier 37A, and the first base identifier 37A and the other second mounting identifier 62B are aligned in a row to configure the second identifier M2 consisting of eight characters, as shown in Fig. 11. The second identifier M2 represents a model number of the connector 1 when the lever 40 is mounted in the second mounting mode. [Rotation indicators 53, 63]

[0037] A first rotation indicator 53 is engraved into the first mounting identification surface 51F of the first leg portion 51, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 9. The first rotation indicator 53 is an indicator that indicates the rotation directions from the home position to the connection completion position and from the connection completion position to the home position of the lever 40 when the lever 40 is mounted in the first mounting mode. A second rotation indicator 63 is engraved into the second mounting identification surface 61F of the second leg portion 61, as shown in Fig. 10 and Fig. 11. The second rotation indicator 63 is an indicator that indicates the rotation directions from the home position to the connection completion position and from the connection completion position to the home position of the lever 40 when the lever 40 is mounted in the second mounting mode. [Counter connector 70]

[0038] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 6, the mating connector 70 is provided with a tubular receptacle 71 and two gear receiving portions 72 disposed on the outer surface of the receptacle 71 and corresponding to the two gear portions 43 provided respectively on the two leg portions 51, 61 of the lever 40. Each gear receiving portion 72 includes gear projections 73 projecting from the outer surface of the receptacle 71 and engaging with the gear teeth 43A, 43B of the gear portion 43. [Assembly of connector 1]

[0039] An example of an assembly process for the connector 1 configured as described above is described below. First, the terminal fittings connected to the ends of the wires are mounted into the inner housing 20. Then, the inner housing 20 is assembled with the inner holding portion 33.

[0040] Subsequently, the lever 40 is assembled with the housing 10. When the lever 40 is in an assembly position upright to the housing 10, the two leg portions 51, 61 are deflected inward, and the tip portions of the respective leg portions 51, 61 are inserted into the respective lever receiving portions 34. Since the positions of the through-cuts 42 located in the peripheral edge portions of the shaft holes 41 are aligned with the retaining projections 36 when the lever 40 is in the assembly position, the retaining projections 36 can pass through the through-cuts 42, allowing the rotary shafts 35 to enter the shaft holes 41. When the rotary shafts 35 are fitted into the shaft holes 41, the respective leg portions 51, 61 resiliently return and are positioned along the respective lever retaining walls 31C, 31D.

[0041] Thereafter, the lever 40 is rotated from the mounting position to the initial position. When the lever 40 is rotated to a position displaced from the mounting position, the positions of the through-holes 42 are not aligned with the retaining projections 36. Thus, the retaining projections 36 are engaged with the peripheral edge portions of the shaft holes 41 to limit or prevent the separation of the lever 40 from the housing 10. In this way, the assembly of the lever 40 to the housing 10 is completed.

[0042] As described above, when the lever 40 is mounted in the first mounting mode and arranged in the home position, the first base identifier 37A and the first mounting identifier 52A are aligned in a row to configure the first identifier M1 consisting of eight characters as shown in Fig. 7. On the other hand, when the lever 40 is mounted in the second mounting mode and arranged in the home position, the second base identifier 37B and the second mounting identifier 62A are aligned in a row to configure the second identifier M2 consisting of eight characters, as shown in Fig. 10. A worker can easily confirm whether or not the lever 40 is being mounted in the intended mounting mode by reading which of the first and second identifiers M1, M2 is configured. [Connection of connector 1 and mating connector 70]

[0043] Next, an example of a process for connecting the connector 1 configured as described above to the mating connector 70 will be described below.

[0044] First, a case will be described where the lever 40 is mounted in the first mounting mode. When the lever 40 is in the home position, the first base identifier 37A disposed on the first lever support wall 31C and the first mounting identifier 52A disposed on the first leg portion 51 are aligned in a row to configure the first identifier M1 consisting of eight characters, as shown in Fig. 7. Furthermore, the first rotation indicator 53 is also arranged on the first mounting identification surface 51F provided with the first mounting identifiers 52A, 52B. As just described, in the connector 1, the first rotation indicator 53 is arranged on the same side as that on which the first identifier M1 appears, and the worker can confirm whether or not the lever 40 is mounted in the intended mounting mode by confirming this first identifier M1 and the first rotation indicator 53, and easily recognize a direction in which the lever 40 should be rotated.

[0045] When the lever 40 is held at the home position, the housing 10 is easily connected to the mating connector 70, and a tip part of the receptacle 71 enters the fitting tube portion 31. When the lever 40 is arranged at the home position, the gear projection 73 can enter between the two gear teeth 43A, 43B, as shown in Fig. 8 shown.

[0046] Then, the lever 40 is rotated from the initial position to the connection completion position. The worker confirms the first rotation indicator 53 and rotates the lever 40 from the initial position to the connection completion position (ie, in a right direction in Fig. 7) according to an arrow "CLOSE." Upon rotation of the lever 40, the gear portions 43 rotate, and the second gear teeth 43B move toward the rear of the housing 10, and the gear receiving portions 72 meshing with the second gear teeth 43B are pulled toward the rear of the housing 10. At the same time, the housing 10 is pulled relative to the mating connector 70, and the connection continues.

[0047] When the lever 40 reaches the connection completion position, the housing 10 reaches a proper connection position with respect to the mating connector 70. In this state, as shown in FIG. 9, the second base identifier 37B arranged on the first lever holding wall 31C and the other second mounting identifier 52B arranged on the first leg portion 51 are aligned in a row to configure the first identifier M1 consisting of eight characters. In this way, the first identifier M1 is configured even when the lever 40 is at the connection completion position. Thus, it can be easily confirmed whether or not the lever 40 is mounted in the intended mounting mode even after the connector 1 is connected to the mating connector 70.

[0048] Furthermore, when separating the connector 1 from the mating connector 70 for maintenance or the like, the worker can confirm the first rotation indicator 53 and easily recognize a direction in which the lever 40 should be rotated by visually confirming the connector 1 from the side of the base identification surface 31F on which the first identifier M1 appears. The worker confirms the first rotation indicator 53 and rotates the lever 40 from the connection completion position to the home position (ie, in a leftward direction in Fig. 9) according to an "OPEN" arrow. This separates the connector 1 from the mating connector 70.

[0049] Next, a case will be described where the lever 40 is mounted in the second mounting mode. When the lever 40 is located at the home position, the second base identifier 37B located on the first lever support wall 31C and the one second mounting identifier 62A located on the second leg portion 61 are aligned in a row to configure the second identifier M2 consisting of eight characters, as shown in Fig. 10. Furthermore, the second rotation indicator 63 is also arranged on the second mounting identification surface 61F provided with the second mounting identifiers 62A, 62B. As just described, in the connector 1, the second rotation indicator 63 is arranged on the same side as that on which the second identifier M2 appears, and the worker can confirm whether or not the lever 40 is mounted in the intended mounting mode by confirming this second identifier M2 and the second rotation indicator 63, and easily recognize a direction in which the lever 40 should be rotated.

[0050] As in the case where the lever 40 is mounted in the first assembly mode, the lever 40 is rotated from the home position to the connection completion position, whereby the housing 10 is easily connected to the mating connector 70. The worker rotates the lever 40 from the home position to the connection completion position (ie, in a direction to the left in Fig. 10) according to the arrow “CLOSE”.

[0051] When the lever 40 reaches the connection completion position, the first base identifier 37A arranged on the first lever holding wall 31C and the other second mounting identifier 62B arranged on the second leg portion 61 are aligned in a row to configure the second identifier M2 consisting of eight characters, as shown in Fig. 11. Since the second flag M2 is configured even when the lever 40 is at the connection completion position in this way, it can be easily confirmed whether or not the lever 40 is mounted in the intended mounting mode even after the connector 1 is connected to the mating connector 70.

[0052] Furthermore, when separating the connector 1 from the mating connector 70 for maintenance or the like, the worker can confirm the second rotation indicator 63 and easily recognize a direction in which the lever 40 should be rotated by visually confirming the connector 1 from the side of the base identification surface 31F on which the second identifier M2 appears. The worker confirms the second rotation indicator 63 and rotates the lever 40 according to the arrow "OPEN" from the connection completion position to the initial position (ie, in a rightward direction in Fig.11). In this way, the connector 1 is separated from the mating connector 70. [Functions and Effects]

[0053] As described above, according to this embodiment, the connector 1 is provided with the housing 10, the lever 40 mountable with the housing 10 in a plurality of mounting modes, the base identifiers 37A, 37B arranged on the housing 10, and the plurality of mounting identifiers 52A, 52B, 62A, and 62B arranged on the lever 40 and corresponding to the plurality of mounting modes of the lever 40, respectively, and the base identifier 37A, 37B and the mounting identifier 52A, 52B, 62A, 62B corresponding to the mounting mode of the lever 40 are adjacent to each other to configure one of the plurality of identifiers M1, M2 corresponding to the mounting mode in which the lever 40 is mounted with the housing 10.

[0054] According to the above configuration, it is not necessary to prepare different molds and the like according to the plurality of mounting modes of the lever 40. Furthermore, during an assembly process of the connector 1, the worker can easily confirm whether or not the lever 40 is mounted in the intended mounting mode by reading the identifier M1, M2. This can simplify a manufacturing process.

[0055] Furthermore, the mounting modes include the first mounting mode and the second mounting mode which is different from the first mounting mode, the outer surface of the housing 10 includes the base identification surface 31F which is arranged or provided with the base identifiers 37A, 37B, the lever 40 has the first mounting identification surface 51F which faces the same side as the base identification surface 31F when the lever 40 is mounted with the housing 10 in the first mounting mode, and the second mounting identification surface 61F which faces the same side as the base identification surface 31F when the lever 40 is mounted with the housing 10 in the second mounting mode.which is different from the first mounting mode, and the mounting identifiers 52A, 52B, 62A and 62B include the first mounting identifiers 52A, 52B arranged on the first mounting identification surface 51F and corresponding to the first mounting mode, and the second mounting identifiers 62A, 62B arranged on the second mounting identification surface 61F and corresponding to the second mounting mode.

[0056] According to this configuration, the worker can easily confirm whether or not the lever 40 is mounted in the intended mounting mode by visually confirming the connector 1 from the side of the base identification surface 31F.

[0057] Furthermore, the lever 40 is provided with the first rotation indicator 53 which indicates the rotation directions when the lever 40 is mounted in the first mounting mode, and the second rotation indicator 63 which indicates the rotation directions when the lever 40 is mounted in the second mounting mode.

[0058] According to this configuration, at the time of connecting with the mating connector 70, the worker can easily recognize the direction in which the lever 40 should be rotated and improve work efficiency.

[0059] Furthermore, the first rotation indicator 53 is arranged on the first mounting identification surface 51F and the second rotation indicator 63 is arranged on the second mounting identification surface 61F.

[0060] According to this configuration, the worker can easily confirm whether or not the lever 40 is mounted in the intended mounting mode and in which direction the lever 40 should be rotated, thus improving work efficiency. <Andere Ausführungsformen> (1) Although the mounting member in the above embodiment is the lever, the type of the mounting member is not limited to that of the above embodiment and may be, for example, a cover for covering the wires by being mounted with the housing. (2) Although the lever is rotatably mounted with the housing in the above embodiment, the mounting mode of the lever is not limited to that of the above embodiment, and for example, the lever may be slidably mounted with the housing. (3) Although the lever 40 can be mounted to the housing 10 in two mounting modes in the above embodiment, a mounting member can be mounted to a base member in three or more mounting modes. (4) Although the identifier in the above embodiment consists of eight characters, the number of characters of the identifier is not particularly limited. Although the identifier in the above embodiment consists of characters representing the model number, the type of the identifier is not limited to that of the above embodiment and may, for example, consist of characters or symbols other than numbers, or a combination thereof. (5) Although the base markers and the mounting markers are engraved in the above embodiment, a marker formation method is not limited to that of the above embodiment. For example, markers may be printed on the surfaces of the base member and the mounting member, or seals printed with markers may be attached to the surfaces of the base member and the mounting member. The same applies to the first and second rotation indicators.
