Abstract

A robot system (1) comprises: a robot control device (10) that controls a robot device (40); a handheld programmer (30) that communicates with the robot control device and accepts manipulations; and an anomaly notification device (20) that relays communication between the robot control device and the handheld programmer. Upon detecting an abnormal condition that impairs the control of the robot device, the robot control device restricts the action of the robot device and outputs anomaly information based on the details of the abnormal condition to the anomaly notification device.Upon receiving anomaly information, the anomaly notification device changes the communication state between the robot control device and the handheld programmer from a normal mode with unrestricted communication to an anomalous mode with restricted communication. It then generates a display image corresponding to the details of the anomaly information and outputs it to the handheld programmer. The handheld programmer displays this image on its own display unit and restricts the acceptance of any manipulations affecting the robot based on the anomalous communication mode state.
