Abstract

LED irradiation system for the treatment and prophylaxis of wound infections in mammals with violet light from the wavelength range of 400 to 420 nm and light doses above 20 J / cm2 consisting of one or more LED boards (1), characterized in that the arrangement has a control unit (7) which receives data from a fluorescence germ sensor (2) such that the dose of the antibacterial violet light emitted by the LED boards (1) and delivered to the wound is automatically adjusted according to the germ load of the wound measured with the fluorescence germ sensor (2).

Claims

[1] LED irradiation system for the treatment and prophylaxis of wound infections in mammals with violet light in the wavelength range of 400 to 420 nm and light doses above 20 J / cm 2 consisting of one or more LED boards (1), characterized by that the arrangement has a control unit (7) which receives data from a fluorescence germ sensor (2) in such a way that the dose of the antibacterial violet light emitted by the LED boards (1) and delivered to the wound is automatically adjusted according to the germ load of the wound measured by the fluorescence germ sensor (2). [2] LED irradiation system according to claim 1 characterized by that the arrangement has a sensor (3) for measuring the temperature of the wound surface and the irradiation is automatically interrupted if a preset temperature limit is exceeded. [3] LED irradiation system according to claim 1 characterized bythat the arrangement with the aid of the LED boards (1) additionally generates longer-wave radiation in the range of 420-500 nm wavelength and 600 to 1000 nm wavelength with a dose of less than 100 J / cm 2 to the wound. [4] LED irradiation system according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the violet radiation is pulsed with a wavelength in the range of 400 to 420 nm. [5] LED irradiation system according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the temperature measurement in the wound is carried out by a thermographic camera. [6] LED irradiation system according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the fluorescence germ sensor (2) together with the temperature sensor (3) serves as an aid for diagnosing wound infections.
