Abstract

A thermal cover as a flat insulating material for placing on a pot lid is characterized by the fact that penetration cutouts integrated into the thermal cover allow lid handles to penetrate the insulating material.

Description

[0001] The invention relates to a covering device for thermally insulating a pot lid from the environment, comprising a flat insulating material for placing on the lid.

[0002] For example, pots and pans made of different materials and shapes are used for preparing and serving food. Pot and pan lids made of different materials and shapes are also used, primarily to store heat or cold energy in the pot or pan.

[0003] The objective of this invention is to minimize heat transfer through a lid by means of a single- or multi-layer thermal cover. The shape of the thermal cover also allows it to be used as a trivet when serving prepared food in a pot or pan.

[0004] Integrated recesses in the thermal cover allow for the penetration of lid handles of various shapes, while simultaneously securing the thermal cover horizontally to the lid. The lid handles retain their function even when the thermal cover is in place, allowing you to lift or replace the lid during food preparation.

[0005] The thermal cover can be made of multi-layer metal with integrated insulation or of heat-resistant composite materials. In multi-layer designs, a gas such as air can be used as integrated insulation. It is also possible to incorporate a vacuum into a multi-layer thermal cover as thermal insulation.

[0006] Furthermore, a construction made of heat-resistant silicone mats is possible. In multi-layer constructions, thermal insulation materials can be inserted between the mats, for example, aerogel materials, as fleece, granules, or in the form of gels.

[0007] We are not aware of any comparable thermal covers for pot or pan lids.

[0008] Embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawings. They show: Fig. 1 A round thermal cover (1) with a round penetration recess (2) for a round lid knob handle. Fig. 2 A rectangular thermal cover (3) with a rectangular penetration recess (4) for a rectangular lid knob handle. Fig. 3 A square thermal cover (5) with a rectangular penetration recess (6) for a bow handle Fig.4 An oval thermal cover (7) with 2 rectangular recesses (8) for handles.

Claims

[1] Thermal cover as a flat insulating material to be placed on a pot lid characterized by that penetration recesses integrated into the thermal cover allow lid handles to penetrate the insulating material. [2] Thermal cover according to claim 1 characterized by that the insulating material is made of multi-layer metal with integrated insulation or of heat-resistant composite materials. [3] Thermal cover according to claim 1 characterized by that the insulating material is made of single-layer or multi-layer heat-resistant silicone mats.
