Description

State of the art

[0001] The present invention relates to a cover cap suitable for placement on a spout of a package for liquid or semi-solid products, which spout has a circular cross-section. Furthermore, the invention relates to a package with a spout for liquid or semi-solid products, which spout has a circular cross-section, and a cover cap placed on the spout.

[0002] Cover caps for packaging spouts are generally known from the prior art. Such cover caps can, for example, be designed as safety closures intended to prevent children from accessing the spout.

[0003] For example, DE 9312423 U1 discloses a child-resistant cap for a bottle spout. The closure comprises a closure cap with an internal thread and two internal projections running parallel to a longitudinal axis of the spout. Two radial locking projections are provided on the spout, which, when locked, engage with the internal projections of the cap. To release the locking, the cap can be deformed elliptically by compressive forces. The internal projections are moved radially outward. As soon as the internal projections on the cap are radially spaced from the locking projections of the spout, thus deactivating the child-proof feature, the cap can be unscrewed.

[0004] The disadvantage of the conventional cap is that the unlocked cap must be unscrewed. Unscrewing takes a certain amount of time and requires corresponding threads on the cap and the spout. Disclosure of the invention

[0005] The object of the present invention is to provide a cover cap for a spout of a packaging which can be produced with little effort and which can be removed from the spout with little effort after the securing device has been released.

The Fig. 5 shows a cover cap according to a second embodiment of the invention. The Fig. 6 shows a package according to a second embodiment of the invention. Embodiments of the invention

[0040] In the various figures, identical parts are always provided with the same reference symbols and are therefore usually named or mentioned only once.

[0041] The representations in Fig. 1 to 4 show a first embodiment of the invention. The packaging 1 according to the invention is designed as a gable-top packaging made of a paper composite material and has a spout 2 for liquid or semi-solid products, which is provided in a roof surface of the gable-top packaging 1. The packaging 1 further comprises a cover cap 10 that can be placed over the spout 3. The cover cap 10 is designed as a child-resistant cover cap, which is intended to prevent unwanted opening by children. Furthermore, the cover cap 10 can be manufactured with little effort as an injection-molded part and can be easily and quickly removed from the spout 2 after the child-proof lock has been released.

[0042] The spout 2 has a cylindrical spout wall 5 and is connected, for example, glued, to the paper composite material via a flange 6, particularly annular, that projects perpendicularly to the spout wall 5. The spout 2 according to the exemplary embodiment is threadless. An annular projection 3 is formed on the outside of the spout wall 5, which allows the cover cap 10 to be locked to the spout 2.

[0043] The cover cap 10 has a cover wall 11 and a side wall 12 running around the cover wall. The side wall 12 comprises two diametrically opposed locking lugs 13 on an inner surface, which protrude inwards and extend in a circumferential direction of the side wall 12 parallel to the cover wall 11. The side wall 11 is designed such that the locking lugs 13 can be moved radially outwards in a locking position by applying pressure to two opposing pressure points 16 on an outer surface of the side wall 11, which pressure is applied transversely, in particular perpendicularly, to a virtual connecting line between the two locking lugs 13, in order to release a locking connection. In the first exemplary embodiment, the locking lugs 13 are locked to the outer, annular projection 3 of the spout 2 in the locking position, see Fig. 4. The locking lugs 13 are arranged on an underside of the side wall 12 facing away from the lid wall 11. The annular projection 3 is provided on an underside of the spout 3 facing away from the opening 4 of the spout 3. Furthermore, a circular rib 14 is arranged on an inner surface of the lid wall 11. The rib 14 seals against the inside of the spout wall 5 and prevents unwanted leakage from the packaging. Optionally, a sealing material, in particular a silicone or a thermoplastic, can be arranged on the inner surface of the lid wall 11, for example, by being injection-molded.

[0044] As particularly in Fig. 2, a first distance between the respective regions of the side wall 12 at the two opposite pressure points 16 is greater than a second distance between the respective regions of the side wall 12 near the locking lugs 13. In this respect, the cover cap 10 has a certain amount of space in the region of the pressure points 16 for deforming the side wall 12 inwards. By deforming the side wall 12, the locking lugs 13 can be moved radially outwards in order to release them from the locking connection with the annular projection 3. In the region of the pressure points 16, a plurality of stiffening ribs 15 are arranged on the inner surface of the side wall 12 and on the inner surface of the cover wall 11. The stiffening ribs 15 contribute to the region of the side wall 12 around the pressure points 16 becoming stiffer than the region of the side wall around the locking lugs 13.In this way, the movement of the locking lugs radially outwards is promoted in response to pressure at the pressure points 16.

[0045] In the packaging according to the first embodiment, both the spout 2 and the cover cap 10 are designed without a thread, so that the cover cap 10 can be removed from the spout 2 without a rotational movement after the locking connection with the spout 2 has been released.

[0046] The cover cap 10 can be used as a dosing cup when separated from the spout 2. For this purpose, the cover cap 10 can have suitable markings, particularly on its inside, that indicate a predetermined fill level.

[0047] The representations in Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 show a second embodiment of the invention.

[0048] The packaging 1 according to the second embodiment corresponds to the first embodiment with the difference that a pump dispenser 17 is arranged on the lid wall 11 of the cover cap 10. The pump dispenser 17 comprises a riser tube 18, which in the second embodiment is designed to be telescopic. The telescopic riser tube 18 enables space-saving storage of the riser tube when the spout 2 is closed, for example by means of a pull-out closure or a twist lock. Alternatively, the riser tube 18 can be designed to be bendable in a defined manner or to be rolled up in a tube-like manner. When the spout 2 is closed, the riser tube 18 is pushed together, folded in, or rolled up, and is only brought into its functional position after the spout 2 is opened. This makes it possible to sell the cover cap 10 and the pump dispenser 17 together in a compact packaging form.
