Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a connector housing and a connector structure, in particular to a connector housing that provides a fixing effect for connector contacts at two locations, and a connector structure provided with this connector housing.
[0002] The prior art generally relates to conventional electrical connector housings, which are used in conjunction with electrical connector contacts for connecting electronic signals and power supplies to ensure electrical connection between various electronic devices and secure signal transmission. For example, electrical connector contacts can be inserted into and secured within chambers of the connector housing. However, with the increasing miniaturization of electronic products, a reduction in the size of connector structures is also becoming necessary. Under these spatial constraints, the restraining effect of the connector housing on securing the connector contacts is greatly reduced. This leads to the lack of an unstable electrical connection between the connector contacts and the connector housing in the connector structure.
[0003] The invention is based on the object of providing a connector housing which allows a first locking element to engage in a first locking region and a second locking element to engage in a second locking region in order to improve the fixing effect of the connector housing on the connector contacts.
[0004] The present invention provides a connector housing comprising a main body and at least one locking portion. The main body has a mating portion, a contact portion opposite the mating portion, and a first locking region and a second locking region located between the mating portion and the contact portion. The first locking region is located between the second locking region and the mating portion, while the second locking region is arranged centrally between the mating portion and the contact portion. One end of the locking portion is pivotally attached to one side of the main body near the contact portion, while the other end of the locking portion has a first locking element. A second locking element is located between the two opposite ends of the locking portion. The first locking element serves to lock in the first locking region, while the second locking element locks into the second locking region.
[0005] According to the invention, the main part has a chamber extending longitudinally between the mating portion and the contact portion.
[0006] According to the invention, the number of at least one locking portion is, wherein the two locking portions are arranged on the opposite sides of the chamber of the main part.
[0007] According to the invention, the first locking element and the second locking element serve to move in the direction of the horizontal center line of the main part to lock into the first locking area and the second locking area, respectively.
[0008] According to the invention, when the first locking element and the second locking element respectively engage the first locking region and the second locking region, the second portion of the second locking element is closer to the horizontal center line of the main part than the first locking element.
[0009] According to the invention, the main part has a separating block between the first locking area and the second locking area, which is arranged above the chamber and serves to delimit the first locking area from the second locking area.
[0010] According to the invention, the first locking region has a first stop block, wherein the first locking element has an extension section. The first stop block of the first locking region serves to abut against the extension section of the first locking element when the first locking element engages in the first locking region, thereby firmly securing the first locking element in the first locking region.
[0011] According to the invention, the second locking element has a first section, a second section adjoining the first section, and a third section adjoining the second section. The first section, the second section, and the third section of the second locking element are arranged in an L-shape.
[0012] According to the invention, the second locking region has a second stop block which serves to bear against the third section of the second locking element when the second locking element is locked into the second locking region.
[0013] According to the invention, a connector structure is provided which allows the first locking element to engage in the first locking region and the second locking element to engage in the second locking region in order to improve the fixing effect of the connector housing on the connector contacts.
[0014] According to the invention, the connector structure comprises a connector housing and connector contacts. After the connector contacts have been inserted into the chamber of the main body, at least one locking portion is moved toward the main body by pressure, so that the first locking element engages in the first locking region and the second locking element engages in the second locking region to firmly secure the connector contacts in the chamber of the main body. The technical effect of the present invention is that the connector housing of the connector structure achieves an improved fixing effect after the connector contacts have been inserted by pressure on the first locking element in the first locking region and the second locking element in the second locking region. In short, the design of the connector housing enables that even when the size of the connector structure is reduced and under the constraints of the spatial structure, the connector housing still provides sufficient fixing effect to hold the connector contacts securely in the chamber of the connector housing.

[0017] In some embodiments, the first locking region 111 of the main body 110 is located between the second locking region 113 and the mating portion 112, and the second locking region 113 of the main body 110 is located centrally between the mating portion 112 and the contact portion 114. Simply put, one end of the locking portion 120 is pivotally attached to one side of the main body 110 near the contact portion 114, while the other end of the locking portion 120 has a first locking element 122. A second locking element 124 is located between the two opposite ends of the locking portion 120. The first locking element 122 of the locking portion 120 serves to lock to the first locking region 111, while the second locking element 124 of the locking portion 120 serves to lock to the second locking region 113.
[0018] Furthermore, the second locking element 124 of the locking portion 120 is located closer to the contact portion 114 of the main part 110 than the first locking element 122 of the locking portion 120. In some embodiments, the main part 110 has a chamber 116, wherein the chamber 116 of the main part 110 extends in the longitudinal direction L between the mating portion 112 and the contact portion 114. It should be noted that the number of locking portions 120 can be two, and these two locking portions 120 can each be arranged on opposite sides of the chamber 116 of the main part 110. For example, the two locking portions 120 can each be arranged on the upper and lower sides of the main part 110. In addition, the number of locking portions 120 on the same side can also be two. For example, two locking sections 120 can be attached to the upper side and two locking sections 120 can also be attached to the lower side. The locking portions 120 on the upper and lower sides may be arranged on the opposite sides of the chamber 116 of the main body 110, respectively, and the connection method and function of the locking portions 120 on the lower side can be derived from the description of the connection method and function of the locking portions 120 on the upper side.
[0019] In the Fig. 4 to Fig.6, the first locking element 122 of the locking portion 120, together with the second locking element 124 of the locking portion 120, is designed to be moved by pressure in the direction of the horizontal center line CL of the main body 110 to engage the first locking region 111 and the second locking region 113 of the main body 110, respectively. Furthermore, when the first locking element 122 and the second locking element 124 of the locking portion 120 are engaged in the first locking region 111 and the second locking region 113 of the main body 110, respectively, the second portion 1242 of the second locking element 124 is closer to the horizontal center line CL of the main body 110 than the first locking element 122 of the locking portion 120.
[0020] In some embodiments, the main part 110 includes a separating block 118 between the first locking region 111 and the second locking region 113, which is arranged above the chamber 116 of the main part 110. The second locking region 113 has a second stop block 117, which serves to bear against the third section 1243 of the second locking element 124 when the second locking element 124 engages the second locking region 113.
[0022] In addition, the electrical connector structure 200 comprises the electrical connector housing 100 and the connector contacts 210. After the connector contacts 210 have been inserted into the chamber 116 of the main part 110, at least one locking portion 120 is moved by pressure towards the main part 110 so that the first locking element 122 engages in the first locking area 111 and the second locking element 124 engages in the second locking area 113 to firmly secure the connector contacts 210 in the chamber 116 of the main part 110.
[0023] In summary, the electrical connector housing 100 of the connector structure 200, after receiving the connector contacts 210, can significantly increase the retention effect by pressing and engaging the first locking element 122 into the first locking region 111 and the second locking element 124 into the second locking region 113 to firmly secure the connector contacts 210 in the chamber 116 of the connector housing 100. Simply put, even if the size of the connector structure 200 used is reduced, the above-described design and arrangement of the electrical connector housing 100 enable the connector housing 100 to continue to provide sufficient retention effect to securely hold the connector contacts 210 in the chamber 116 of the connector housing 100 despite the spatial limitations.
