Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a system with which floors / floor coverings on construction sites can be protected during the construction and dismantling phase from mechanical damage and, within the scope of the possibility, from contamination by sources customary in construction, such as liquid sprays, abrasive dusts or spark flight.Particular value is attributed in the invention to multiple re-useability and cleaning ability, complete re-useability by components of the same type, rapid disposability and removability and avoidance of tripperun cases. In addition, the system offers a significantly improved mechanical protective effect compared to the currently customary solutions.Prior ArtCurrently, for the protection of floor coverings in the construction sector, use is generally made of composite materials composed of plastic films and cotton fibers (covering fleece) or plastic films, which are usually laid loosely and are occasionally fixed at the edges by means of adhesive tapes. This type of protection entails a number of disadvantages: 1. High risk of accidents due to trip accidents: films and in particular covering fleeces tend to form wrinkles. Especially on construction sites, many persons must carry material, equipment or tools and have a limited view of their travel path. Crash and trip accidents are among the most common causes of injury on construction sites according to a study of the Swiss accident insurance company. 2. limited protective effect: covering fleeces and foils only rarely offer a dust- and liquid-tight seal, since this would require a connection between the laid webs as well as towards the walls. The production of such a connection is at best complicated, since bonding between sheets is difficult. For this reason, dusts and liquids entering under the fleeces and foils through the joints often present a problem. 3. no re-use: films are disposed of directly to an extent of approximately 100 percent after use, covering fleeces mostly after 2. Both permanent dismantling and cleaning of the two materials is not possible according to the current state of the art. 4. disposal / recycling: The cover fleeces used in most cases usually represent an indivisible material composite of cotton and PVC / PP / PE film, which makes any form of material recycling impossible. In addition, films as well as cover sheets with the adhesive tapes with which they were applied form an indivisible mixture, which is very problematic in disposal. In areas in which nonwovens or films have not been soiled, too, a mixture is formed which cannot be recycled in a single grade. It is suitable only for thermal utilization. 5. short shelf life: At construction site operations, films and drapes are often torn or displaced by material transfers on trucks, ladders and platforms, or walking persons. 6.Effort during the attachment: For a trip-proof laying, foils and covering fleeces would have to be glued circumferentially securely. The time and personnel costs for this type of attachment are considerable. This constitutes a central problem especially in the case of narrow time windows on modern construction sites, which is why secure fixing is often dispensed with, which is the case in addition to the above-mentioned problems. This is because sources of danger are present. For the above-mentioned reasons, in the construction sector, floor protection covers made of rectangular PP web plates have meanwhile been partially placed. This solution eliminates positions 1 and 3 of the above. All problem conditions and 2 and 4 partially. However, problems remain with the protective effect of the plates, since the usually used web plates with a thickness of 3 mm collapse under higher compressive loads by buckling of the webs. Moreover, when laying, challenges arise since a force-fit connection of the panels strongly adhesive tapes must be used which can no longer be removed after use of the panels and thus prevent reuse of the panels. The problem of mixed waste was thus also encountered here.In order to offer construction site operators in the areas of new construction and building in inventory a solution for protecting floors and floor coverings, the system PP Protect Floor Protection was developed. The aim in the development was to eliminate the above-mentioned accident risks and to eliminate the problems in the areas of environmental and climate protection and handling.Components of the InventionThe complete system for the protective cover consists of a total of four components:1. Full-size floor protection panel (A)The full-format floor protection plate offers a circumferential toothing with which it can be connected to other full- and half-format plates in a force-fitting and separable manner. Full-format floor protection panels serve to quickly and effectively cover larger areas on construction sites. The plates are connected to the edge toothing for this purpose. The toothing enables a play-free and force-fit connection of the plates. In order to withstand the compressive and liquid loads occurring on construction sites, the floor protection panels are made from a nub structure panel made of polypropylene. This type of plate is already extruded with a high proportion of recycled material and is 100% recyclable at the end of its service life.2. Bottom protection panel half format (B)The bottom protection plate in half format, like the bottom protection plate in full format, provides a circumferential toothing. It can be completely combined with the floor protection mats in full format. The floor protection panel in half format serves to adapt the total area covered to the spatial conditions, for example in the case of narrow passages, smokeers or small spaces. In order to withstand the compressive and liquid loads occurring on construction sites, the floor protection panels are made from a nub structure panel made of polypropylene. This type of plate is already extruded with a high proportion of recycled material and is 100% recyclable at the end of its service life.3. Bottom protection panel Edge strip wideEdge strips offer one-sided toothing to the two aforementioned plate shapes. The floor protection panel, edge strips wide, serves primarily for adapting the floor protection to irregularly shaped floor areas such as heating and window recesses, door passages or the like. Due to the possibility of being cut out on site, a force-locking and tight installation can thus also be ensured in these areas.4. Bottom protection plate Edge strip narrowThe narrow bottom protection panel serves primarily for adapting the protective cover to the spatial dimensions. It can be cut to the appropriate size on site and laid in a force-fit manner. It ensures that the complete cover extends as far as the walls and thus ensures the non-slip installation of the overall system.5. Cover tape for joints can be detachedThe fifth component of the system is an adhesive tape which, like the sheets, is produced from polypropylene of the same type and with which the interlocked joints of the sheets can be covered. The aim in the case of bonding is a high degree of tightness of the joints with respect to liquids, such as paints, for example, or with respect to dust. For this reason, a removable adhesive tape with medium-strength adhesive action is used. The invention achieves:Improved protection against fall and trip accidents at construction sites is that the panels do not wrinkle unlike nonwovens and films.A better protection of the floors and floor coverings on construction sites is achieved by the higher liquid and dust density due to glue-off joints and precise edge closure. An environmentally and climate-friendly system for protecting soils and floor coverings on construction sites: the production of the panels with a high recycle fraction, the possibility of multiple use as well as the cleaning and the final recycling capability of the material offer distinct advantages for the environment compared to the non-recyclable nonwovens and films which can only be used a few times.Furthermore, it is achieved that protective covers for floors on construction sites can be installed and disassembled more quickly and simply and with less personnel outlay, while ensuring the safety.List of reference charactersFIG. 1 : Die cut sheet Bottom protection plate Full format FIG. 2 : Die cut sheet Bottom protection plate Half format FIG. 3 : Die cut sheet Bottom protection plate Edge strip wide FIG. 4 : Stamped sheet Bottom protection plate Edge strip narrow
