Abstract
Description
[0001] Technical field: The invention relates to functional sports and compression clothing with additional orthopedically relevant functions. In particular, a clothing system is described that serves to actively support and stabilize sensitive body areas during physical exertion.
[0002] State of the art: Orthoses, support bandages, and compression garments are familiar from the medical and athletic fields. These systems are either applied externally or functionally limited to specific body zones. A textile solution with integrated, adaptable, and holistic multi-zone support is currently unknown. Solution approach:
[0003] The clothing unit according to the invention is made of an elastic, breathable, and minimally seamed textile (e.g., seamless knitting) and consists of two parts: an upper and a lower part. The present invention relates to a functional garment, in particular sports and compression clothing, for preventative orthopedic and trauma support of the musculoskeletal system during physical activity. The goal is to stabilize and specifically relieve pressure on anatomically stress-sensitive body regions while maintaining comfort and freedom of movement. 1. Integrated lumbar support element (back strap) ( Fig. 3) The clothing includes an integrated, elastic support element in the form of a back strap in the area of the lumbar spine (LWS). Fig. 4.9 / Fig. 5.8). This is a combined fastening system with loop and magnetic closure on the back ( Fig.3.3), reversibly removable and on both sides via outlet openings (TPU eyelets) ( Fig. 1a.2 / Fig. 1b.2 / Fig. 5.3) on the front of the garment. The webbing is secured with a tension-variable closure system ( Fig. 3.3-4 / Fig. 4.7-8) and serves to stabilize the pressure on the lumbar spine. Depending on the model (men's / women's model), it is integrated either in the top (e.g. long-sleeved shirt - Fig. 5 / Fig. 1, T-shirt) or in the bottom (e.g. leggings - Fig. 4, shorts), whereby the textile structure ensures breathability and comfort. 2. Anatomically positioned support applications ( Fig. 1a.1 / Fig. 2a.1 / Fig.4. 1) On the outer surface of the textile, anatomically positioned applications made of a silicone-like elastomeric polymer (e.g., polyurethane blend / Liquid Lycra™) are applied as a flat or linear layer. These run along biomechanically sensitive structures and serve to provide preventative relief and muscular and joint-related guidance:
[0004] Shoulder region: Guidance along the attachment areas of the rotator cuff (supraspinatus, infraspinatus, etc.), for dynamic recentering of the joint and stabilization during overhead and tensile loads.
[0005] Elbow: lateral support along the lateral ligament structure.
[0006] Hip / pelvic area: ventro-lateral reinforcement of the hip joint, reinforcement of the sacroiliac region and the muscular attachments.
[0007] Knee area: sagittal guidance along patellar tendon, quadriceps tendon and mediolateral stabilization. 3. Internal support elements in the knee area ( Fig. 6 / Fig. 2a.6 / 2b.3). In the area of the knee joint, internal, dimensionally stable inserts are provided on both sides (medial / lateral) ( Fig. 6.1). These are fixed in pockets ( Fig. 6.2 / Fig. 6.3) and are made of semi-rigid, dimensionally stable materials (e.g., 2 mm thick polypropylene, alternatively: TPE, TPU, carbon, or aluminum composite materials). They support the ligaments (collateral ligaments) and provide preventive protection for structures near the meniscus. 4. Zone-specific compression profile ( Fig. 1a.1, 3-7 / Fig. 2a.1, 3-5). The garment features a multi-zone compression system integrated into the textile structure, divided into six functional compression levels. These are based on different mesh densities, material thicknesses, or elastomer coatings and take anatomical and physiological stress into account: Zone division: 1. Ventilation zones without compression (approx. 10 MMHG) - Point-perforated seam zone with ventilating structure : e.g. armpit, groin, back of the knee - high perspiration, sensitive skin, proximity to nerve and vascular bundles ( Fig. 1a.5 / Fig. 2a.5) 2. Medium compression (15-20 MMHG): Zones with high wearing comfort but without significant injury risks or breathable zones (chest) ( Fig. 1a.6 / unmarked “white” zones) 3. Medium-strong compression: e.g. transition areas with medium to high muscular load ( Fig. 1a.3 / Fig. 2a.3) 4. Strong compression: e.g. areas of the large muscle groups ( Fig. 2a.4) 5. Strong compression with reinforcement: e.g. large muscle groups with special sporting demands (deltoideum / quadriceps, biceps femoris) ( Fig. 1a.4 / Fig. 2a.4) 6. Targeted maximum compression: e.g. over joint zones, combined with elastomer application ( Fig. 1a.7 / Fig. 2a.2 / Fig. 2b.2)
[0008] Special advantages of the invention: • Textile integration of support elements without orthotic restrictions • Adjustable, breathable lumbar stabilization without external hardware • Multi-local joint support in one garment • Combination of biomechanical function and comfort • Preventive support without restricting freedom of movement Technical drawing overview - legend with reference symbols figure Description Fig.1a Compression clothing top (long sleeve) with representation of the zone-specific compression structure Fig.1b Compression garment top (long sleeve) with representation of the anatomically positioned applications Fig.2a Compression garment bottom (leggings) with representation of the zone-specific compression structure and applications Fig.2b Compression garment bottom (leggings) with representation of the anatomically positioned applications and knee support elements (applications + inserts) Fig. 3 Detailed illustration of the modular back belt (lumbar support element) with multi-layer construction and fastening elements Fig. 4 Compression clothing (leggings - women's version) with textile-integrated back strap and fastening system Fig. 5 Compression clothing (long-sleeved men's version) with integrated back strap and front outlet openings Fig. 6 Detailed view of the knee unit with bilateral (medial / lateral) internal stabilization struts and their pockets figure Nr.
