[0001] The invention relates to a device for securely fixing children's tableware, in particular porcelain plates, to various table surfaces in order to prevent them from being accidentally moved or thrown down by babies and small children.

Conventional suction cups lose their adhesive power on textured, damp, or textile surfaces such as tablecloths. Claims

[1] Fastening device for fixing dishes, in particular plates made of porcelain or stoneware, to table surfaces, comprising a) a screw clamp (2) for mechanical fastening to a table top, and b) a suction cup (1) connected to the screw clamp and open at the top, characterized by that the suction cup is designed in such a way that it can hold and securely fix plates of different sizes, shapes and material types. [2] Fastening device according to claim 1, characterized by that the suction cup (1) consists of an elastic material which enables a force-fitting adhesion to the underside of plates, in particular those made of porcelain or stoneware, and that the suction cup is provided with an integrated release tab by means of which it can be easily removed from the underside of the plate without leaving any residue. [3] Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized bythat the screw clamp (2) has a rigid, preferably metallic holding arm with a Z-shaped edge, wherein the geometry of the holding arm is designed such that the suction cup rests flat and flush on the table surface even with raised table edges, and thus compensates for a height offset between the clamping point on the table edge and the position of the suction cup (1) on the table surface.
