Description

1. Technical problem, current state of the art

[0001] The current state of the art involves applying water carried in fire extinguishers backpacks to the fire using hand-operated double-piston pumps. This places additional physical strain on firefighters. Furthermore, the water is delivered at low pressure and intermittently. 2. Solution to the problem

[0002] By combining the hand-operated piston pump with a battery-powered pump, the operator's physical effort is reduced, and the water is delivered at high pressure of up to 200 bar. Depending on the nozzle used, a long throw range or a fine atomization of the water is possible. In most cases, the fine atomization will ensure significantly greater extinguishing success, as the fine water droplets provide a greater cooling effect and allow the water to penetrate deeper into the fire. A plug-in connection between the fire extinguisher backpack and the battery-powered piston pump allows for easy conversion back to the hand-operated piston pump at any time.
