Description

[0001] The invention relates to a passive, power-free display module for the visual representation of the humidity level in indoor spaces. The module indicates the humidity level using at least two different visual displays and is particularly useful for identifying the need for ventilation or dehumidification.

[0002] Humidity indicators are known to be used in packaging or industrial applications, such as humidity indicator cards. These indicate a humidity range via a chemical reaction, but are designed for closed packaging or technical environments. Electronic humidity and air quality meters are also known, but require power sources, contain electronic components, and are maintenance-intensive.

[0003] A room-installable, replaceable, completely power-free display module, specifically designed for the visual representation of humidity levels in residential, commercial, or sanitary areas, is not described in the prior art.

[0004] The object of the invention is to provide a low-maintenance, power-free, reliable module for detecting and visibly displaying an increased level of humidity or risk of mold in indoor spaces.

[0005] Furthermore, the actual humidity indicator should be replaceable in order to increase the service life of the module.

[0006] The task is solved by a power-free humidity module with a display unit that changes its color or transparency when a certain amount of moisture acts on the material.

[0007] The indicator exhibits at least two visually distinguishable states, each corresponding to different moisture levels.

[0008] The module operates completely passively and without electricity, is suitable for any indoor space and allows the user to assess the need for ventilation or dehumidification based on the visual condition.

[0009] The following preferred (non-limiting) embodiments are: 1. The housing can be suitable for wall mounting, table mounting, mirror mounting, adhesive mounting or magnetic mounting, even in rooms without windows. 2. The humidity indicator unit can be designed as a cartridge, plate, insert, film or strip. 3. The diffusion structure can be designed as a membrane, filter, opening system, chamber, porous structure or similar design. 4. The indicator can have two or more visual states. 5. The module can be used in bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, basements, laundry rooms, hotel rooms, holiday apartments or other moisture-prone indoor spaces.

[0010] The advantages are: 1. No electricity 2. permanent monitoring 3. Immediately visible display 4. Extremely low maintenance 5. Universally applicable

Claims

[1] Module for passive, electricity-free indication of humidity levels in indoor spaces, comprising: - a housing for spatial arrangement, - a fixed or replaceable humidity indicator unit arranged therein, - at least one viewing area for the visual perception of a state of the indicator that can be changed by changes in humidity, - a diffusion structure that controls the influence of moisture on the indicator, wherein the indicator has at least two visually distinguishable states corresponding to different moisture states. [2] Module according to claim 1, wherein the humidity indicator unit is removable and replaceable. [3] Module according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the diffusion structure causes a time-delayed change back of the visual state. [4] Module according to one of the preceding claims, wherein more than two visual states are provided. [5] Module according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the humidity indicator unit is designed as a cartridge, insert, film or strip. [6] Module according to any of the preceding claims, suitable for use in any indoor environment with potentially increased humidity. [7] Use of the module according to any of the preceding claims for indicating a ventilation or dehumidification requirement.
