Description

[0001] There are now numerous versions of table football games. In what is probably still the most popular version, the playing figures are attached to movable rods, allowing them to be rotated and moved horizontally back and forth.

[0002] Only low passes / shots are possible in this system. However, the invention described in the patent claim is based on the idea of building a table football game in which it is also possible to chip the ball over opponents or curl it into the top corner of the goal.

[0003] This is achieved by allowing the players to grip the ball with the feet of the playing figures, a feature made possible by the height-adjustable rods listed in the patent application. This literally opens up a new dimension to table football: height.

[0004] To better illustrate this, a game with only two figures will be shown here as an example – the penalty taker and the goalkeeper.

[0005] The Fig. 1 and Fig. Figure 2 shows the disc (1), which can be moved up and down and in which the player-carrying rod (2) is located; here it is additionally stabilized by a guide rod (3). This disc can be pressed downwards by a few millimeters by means of rails (4) in the side playing frame, thus enabling the player to reach under the ball. From below, one—or, as in the example drawing, two—rods (5) extend into the disc, at the lower end of which is a spiral or other spring mechanism that pushes the disc with the player-carrying rod back to its starting position. The dashed lines show the part of the figures that would normally be hidden.

[0006] A game with more players would also be possible. However, due to the mobility of the height-adjustable rods, their anchoring would have to be on one side only, rather than on both sides of the playing field as is usual. Furthermore, the game would need to be covered by a net to prevent the ball from constantly going out of bounds.
