Abstract

Bridge abutment (1), in particular concrete bridge abutment, for receiving a bridge element (29), with an abutment wall (12) having a total height (hW), wherein the abutment wall (12) has a bearing bench (17) for supporting a bridge superstructure, and wherein the abutment wall (12) has a chamber wall (11), wherein the chamber wall (11) is a precast concrete chamber wall and has a height (hK), characterized in that the abutment wall (12) has a bearing surface (13) at its superstructure-side end (15) at a height (hE), on which the chamber wall (11) is placed.
