Description

[0001] The invention relates to a gymnastics mat according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0002] DE 202006015761 U1 describes a gymnastics mat comprising a first base part with a top side and a bottom side, and a second base part with a top side and a bottom side. The first base part and the second base part are connected by means of a connecting element and are thus intertwined. In a first state of the gymnastics mat, the first base part and the second base part form a flat, horizontally extending gymnastics surface with their top sides, and in a second state of the gymnastics mat, the top side of the second base part rests on the top side of the first base part. The two base parts have a cuboid basic shape and are designed and connected to one another in such a way that the gymnastics mat has a cuboid basic shape in both its first and second states.

[0003] In contrast, the object of the invention is, in particular, to propose a gymnastics mat that is particularly flexible in its use and can thus be used for a particularly wide range of gymnastics exercises. According to the invention, this object is achieved by a gymnastics mat having the features of claim 1.

[0004] The gymnastics mat comprises a first base part with a top side and a bottom side, and a second base part with a top side and a bottom side, wherein the first base part and the second base part are connected. In a first state of the gymnastics mat, the first base part and the second base part form a flat, horizontally extending gymnastics surface with their top sides. In a second state of the gymnastics mat, the top side of the second base part rests on the top side of the first base part. According to the invention, the first base part has a first inclined side surface, and the second base part has a second inclined side surface. The first base part and the second base part are designed and arranged in relation to one another in such a way that, in the first state of the gymnastics mat, the second inclined side surface of the second base part rests on the first inclined side surface of the first base part, and in the second state of the gymnastics mat, the first inclined side surface of the first base part and the second inclined side surface of the second base part form a flat, inclined gymnastics surface. The gymnastics mat therefore has a large, flat, horizontal gymnastics surface in its first state and a flat, inclined gymnastics surface in its second state. This means that the gymnastics mat can be used for gymnastics exercises that require a flat, horizontal gymnastics surface, as well as for gymnastics exercises that require a flat, inclined gymnastics surface.

[0005] The orientations and courses of surfaces, edges and the like mentioned here refer to a state in which the underside of the first base part rests on a flat, horizontal surface, for example on a floor or a table.

[0006] To form the flat, inclined gymnastics surface in the second state of the gymnastics mat, the first inclined side surface of the first base part and the second inclined side surface of the second base part have identical inclinations relative to the vertical. The inclination of said gymnastics surface, and thus also of both said side surfaces, in the second state of the gymnastics mat is, in particular, between 20 and 70°.

[0007] The two base parts are designed and arranged in such a way that the gymnastics mat, in its first state, has a cuboid basic shape. Thus, in particular, all side surfaces of the two base parts, except for the first inclined side surface and the second inclined side surface, run vertically.

[0008] The upper sides of the two base parts are in particular rectangular and have in particular the same dimensions and the base parts are then in particular connected to one another in such a way that the upper side of the second base part rests flush on the upper side of the first base part in the second state of the gymnastics mat.

[0009] The underside of the second base part is preferably designed as a flat, level, rectangular surface. However, it is also possible for the underside of the second base part to be designed as a horizontally extending edge, so that the second base part can also have a wedge-shaped basic shape.

[0010] In its first state, in which it has a cuboid basic shape, the gymnastics mat has, for example, a width between 70 and 100 cm, a length between 140 and 180 cm, and a height between 7 and 15 cm. The underside of the second mat, which is rectangular in particular, has, for example, a width between 70 and 100 cm and a length between 30 and 60 cm.

[0011] The two base parts of the gymnastics mat can, for example, be constructed in accordance with a gymnastics mat described in DE 202006015761 U1.

[0012] In one embodiment of the invention, the two base parts are connected by means of a connecting element arranged on the upper side of the first base part and on the upper side of the second base part. The connecting element is designed, in particular, as a seam with which the coverings of the base parts are sewn together. It is also possible for the connecting element to be designed as a band that is sewn onto both base parts. By arranging the connecting element on the upper sides of the base parts, the gymnastics mat is particularly stable in its first state. Furthermore, the connecting element can be attached particularly easily and therefore cost-effectively.

[0013] The gymnastics mat is brought in particular from its first state into its second state by pivoting or folding the second base part about a pivot axis formed by the connecting element until the upper side of the second base part rests on the upper side of the first base part.

[0014] In an embodiment of the invention, in the second state of the gymnastics mat, a surface formed by a side surface of the first base part opposite the first inclined side surface and a side surface of the second base part opposite the second inclined side surface is designed as a flat surface, which runs in particular vertically. This advantageously allows the gymnastics mat to be leaned against a support surface, for example, a wall, via said flat surface, and thus to be supported against said support surface.

[0015] In its second state, the gymnastics mat thus has, in a side view, the shape of a right-angled triangle, for example, and preferably the shape of a right-angled trapezoid. In the case of the right-angled trapezoid design, the underside of the second base part is designed as a flat, horizontal surface, which in particular has a rectangular shape. Thus, in its second state, the gymnastics mat has the aforementioned flat gymnastics surface, and the underside of the second base part, which is oriented upwards in the second state of the gymnastics mat, forms a further flat gymnastics surface.

[0016] In one embodiment of the invention, the two base components comprise a core made of a hard material and a covering comprising a soft mat and a cover around the soft mat. The hard core provides the exercise mat with sufficient stability for performing gymnastic and therapeutic exercises with a toddler. It also prevents an adult performing exercises with the child from sinking into a surface that is too soft. The core can be made of, for example, polystyrene foam, corrugated cardboard, rigid foam, wood, or plastic.

[0017] To create a comfortable surface, the exercise mat is equipped with a soft mat. The soft mat is covered with a cover to provide a comfortable surface and, with the help of the cover, to secure the position of the soft mat to ensure the core is in place. The cover encloses part of the core and thus the exercise mat. The soft mat, which is only a few centimeters thick, is made of foam, latex, or wood wool, for example. The cover is made of an easy-to-clean and skin-friendly material, such as synthetic leather, soft foil, coated textile fabric, or leather.

[0018] In one embodiment of the invention, the underside of the first underlay part is not covered by the soft mat and the cover around the soft mat, and in the second underlay part, the top, the underside, and the second inclined side surface are covered by the soft mat and the cover around the soft mat. This advantageously ensures that in both states of the gymnastics mat, the upwardly oriented gymnastics surfaces are covered with a soft mat, thus allowing comfortable gymnastics exercises in both states. The soft mat can be omitted on the underside of the first underlay part. In the second position of the gymnastics mat, this surface serves as a support surface on the base, for example, a floor or a table.

[0019] In the first base part, at least the upper side and the first inclined side surface are covered by the soft mat and the cover around the soft mat. In addition, all other vertically extending side walls of the two base parts can be covered by the soft mat and the cover around the soft mat.

[0020] In an embodiment of the invention, the underside of the first base part has an anti-slip device. The anti-slip device on the underside of the first base part advantageously prevents the exercise mat from slipping during use and thus, for example, when used on a table, prevents the exercise mat from falling off the table. The anti-slip device comprises, for example, an anti-slip mat, a rubber mat, individual rubber elements, suction cups, or fastening straps or eyelets. When a rubber mat, individual rubber elements, or suction cups are used as anti-slip devices, it is advantageous to arrange these in a closure part that closes an opening on the underside of the first base part. For example, the closure part can be made entirely from a rubber mat, or the closure part can be provided with anti-slip rubber elements over a large area. When using the gymnastics mat on a smooth surface, suction cups can also be used to prevent slipping.

[0021] In one embodiment of the invention, the covering of the second base part has a closable opening for inserting the core. This allows the core to be easily inserted into the covering of the second base part during the manufacture of the gymnastics mat, and the covering can be closed after said insertion. The opening can be closed, for example, with a zipper, a hook-and-loop fastener, or similar. The surface in the area of the opening may be somewhat hard or rough.

[0022] The aforementioned opening in the covering of the second base part is arranged, in particular, on a side surface of the second base part opposite the second inclined side surface. The opening is thus not arranged on an upwardly oriented gymnastics surface of the gymnastics mat, but rather on a side surface that can be turned away from the user during use of the gymnastics mat. Contact with the aforementioned opening can thus be advantageously avoided.

[0023] In one embodiment of the invention, a first loop is arranged on a side surface adjacent to the first inclined side surface of the first base part, and a second loop is arranged on a side surface adjacent to the second inclined side surface of the second base part. The first loop and the second loop are designed and arranged such that they form a handle in the second state of the gymnastics mat. The gymnastics mat can thus advantageously be carried by the aforementioned handle in its second state, making it particularly easy to transport.

[0024] The phrase "the two loops form a handle" should be understood to mean that, in the second state of the gymnastics mat, the two loops run next to each other in such a way that a person can grasp them together with one hand. The gymnastics mat can thus be lifted and carried using the handle formed by the loops. The loops are made, in particular, of the same material as the covers of the mat parts described above. The loops are each formed, in particular, from a strip which is sewn at both ends into a seam of the first or second mat part running along an edge arranged on the upper side of the mat parts.

[0025] Further embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the description and the drawing. Exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in simplified form in the drawing and explained in more detail in the following description. Fig. 1 a gymnastics mat in a first state in a perspective view, Fig. 2 the gymnastics mat Fig. 1 in a second state in a perspective view Fig. 3 a section of the gymnastics mat Fig. 1, Fig. 4 the gymnastics mat Fig. 1 in a view from below, Fig. 5 the gymnastics mat Fig. 2 a side view and Fig. 6 the gymnastics mat from Fig. 2 in a rear view.

[0026] According to Fig. 1, a gymnastics mat 10 consists of a first base part 12 and a second base part 14, which are connected and joined by a connecting element in the form of a seam 16. The seam 16 runs along an edge of the upper side 18 of the first base part 12 and along a corresponding edge of the upper side 22 of the second base part 14. It is thus arranged on the upper side 18 of the first base part 12 and on the upper side 22 of the second base part 14.

[0027] The first base part 12 has an upper side 18 and a lower side 20 (see Fig. 3 and Fig. 4). The top side 18 and the bottom side 20 of the first base part 12 both have a rectangular shape with the same width B, but different lengths. The length L1o of the top side 18 is shorter than the length L1u of the bottom side 20. The second base part 14 has a top side 22 and a bottom side 24 (see Fig. 2, Fig. 3 and Fig. 4). The upper side 22 and the lower side 24 of the second base part 14 also both have a rectangular shape with the same width B, but different lengths. The length L2o of the upper side 22 is longer than the length L2u (see Fig. 2, Fig. 3 and Fig. 4) the underside 24. The width B is the same for all upper and lower sides 18, 20, 22, 24. The length L1o of the upper side 18 is the same as the length L2o of the upper side 22 of the second base part 14. The upper sides 18 of the first base part 12 and the upper side 22 of the second base part 14 thus have the same dimensions. Fig. In the first state of the gymnastics mat 10 shown in Figure 1, the upper side 18 of the first mat part 12 and the upper side 22 of the second mat part 14 form a flat, horizontally extending gymnastics surface 26. In its first state, the gymnastics mat 10 has a cuboid basic shape.

[0028] According to Fig. 2, the first base part 12 has a first inclined side surface 28 and the second base part 14 has a second inclined side surface 30. The two inclined side surfaces 28 and 30 form in the Fig. 2, the second state of the gymnastics mat 10 comprises a flat inclined gymnastics surface 32 which is inclined at an angle α (see Fig. 5) is inclined between 20 and 70° from the vertical. In the first state of the gymnastics mat according to Fig. 1, the second inclined side surface 30 of the second base part 14 rests on the first inclined side surface 28 of the first base part 12.

[0029] The gymnastics mat 10 is from its first state according to Fig. 1 into its second state according to Fig. 2 by pivoting or folding the second base part 14 about a pivot axis formed by the seam 16 until the upper side 22 of the second base part 14 rests on the upper side 18 of the first base part 12.

[0030] On a side surface 34 adjacent to the first inclined side surface 28 of the first base part 12, a first loop 36 is arranged at an edge formed by the first upper side 18 of the first base part 12, and on a side surface 38 adjacent to the second inclined side surface 30 of the second base part 14, a second loop 40 is arranged at an edge formed by the second upper side 22 of the second base part 14. The two loops 36, 40 are each formed from a strip which is sewn at both ends into a seam of the first base part 12 or the second base part 14 running along said edge. The first loop 36 and the second loop 40 form Fig. 2, the second state of the gymnastics mat 10 comprises a handle 42 by which the gymnastics mat 10 can be lifted and carried.

[0031] According to Fig. 3, the two base parts 12, 14 have a hard core 44 made of a hard material and a covering 46 with a soft mat and a cover around the soft mat. In the second base part 14, the top side 22, the bottom side 24, and all side surfaces are covered by the soft mat and the cover around the soft mat. In the first base part, the top side 18 and all side surfaces, but not the bottom side 20, are covered by the soft mat and the cover around the soft mat. As shown in Fig. 4, the underside 20 of the first base part 12 has an anti-slip device in the form of a rectangular anti-slip mat 48.

[0032] According to Fig. 5, in the second state of the gymnastics mat 10, a surface 54 formed by a side surface 50 of the first base part 12 opposite the first inclined side surface 28 and a side surface 52 of the second base part 14 opposite the second inclined side surface 30 is designed as a flat, vertically extending surface 54.

[0033] According to Fig. 6, the sheath 46 of the second base part 14 has a closable opening 56 for inserting the core 44. The opening 56 is arranged on the side surface 52 of the second base part 14 opposite the second inclined side surface 30.

[0034] Finally, it should be noted that terms such as "having," "comprising," etc., do not exclude other elements or steps, and terms such as "a" or "an" do not exclude a plurality.
