Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL AREA
[0001] The present invention relates to a platform for scaffolding. STATE OF THE ART
[0002] Platforms that can be attached to corresponding scaffold crossbeams are known in the prior art, each platform comprising a deck structure extending longitudinally and having a walkable surface, cross members extending transversely to the deck structure and arranged at each end of the deck structure, and flanks extending longitudinally on each side of the deck structure. The platform is attached to the corresponding crossbeam of the scaffold by means of hooks on the cross members.
[0003] CA2158199A1 describes a scaffold platform that also includes projections on the traversable surface to create traction surfaces, as well as transversely extending stiffening ribs that reinforce the platform. The stiffening ribs also include openings for drainage.
[0004] US Patent 6,223,857 B1 describes a scaffold platform with a stiffener extending transversely between substantially parallel flanks. The stiffener comprises an upper support and a lower support. The upper support includes a flat horizontal surface arranged parallel to the surface to be traversed, ends orthogonal to the flat surface through which the stiffener is attached to the flanks, and inclined surfaces connecting the end to the horizontal surface. REVELATION OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The invention relates to the provision of a platform for scaffolding, as defined in the claims.
[0006] The platform for scaffolding according to the invention comprises a deck structure extending longitudinally and including a walkable surface, a flank extending longitudinally on each side of the deck structure, and at least one stiffener connected transversely to the flanks, comprising a central part parallel to the deck structure and ends by which the stiffener is attached to the flanks. Each flank includes an inclined section extending into the interior of the platform, i.e., into the space bounded by the deck structure and the flanks. Each end of the stiffener includes an inclined section parallel to the inclined section of the flank, and the stiffener is attached to the flanks via both inclined surfaces.
[0007] This allows the stiffeners to be attached to the platform flanks much faster, as it enables the use of automatic fastening tools, such as automatic riveting machines. Automatic fastening tools must act perpendicular to the fastening surface, and it is not possible to use them in prior art solutions because the fastening surfaces are not easily accessible.
[0008] These and other advantages and features of the invention will become clear with reference to the figures and the detailed description of the invention. DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Fig. Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a platform after the invention. Fig. 2 is a lower view of the in Fig. 1 platform shown. [0009] Fig. Figures 1 to 3 and 6 show a platform 1 according to the invention, which can be attached to a scaffold not shown.
[0010] The platform 1 comprises a deck structure 2 extending longitudinally and having a walkable surface 6, as well as transverse members 4 extending perpendicular to the deck structure 2. Preferably, the deck structure 2 is a slab. Each transverse member 4 is at least partially located beneath the deck structure 2, fixed at one end of the deck structure 2, and includes hooks 5 adapted for connecting the platform 1 to crossbeams of the corresponding scaffold (not shown). When the platform 1 is mounted on the scaffold, the hooks 5 engage the respective crossbeams of the scaffold. The platform 1 also comprises flanks 3 extending longitudinally on each side of the deck structure 2.
[0011] Each flank 3 comprises an inclined section 14 extending into the interior of the platform 1. Preferably, the inclined section 14 is inclined at an angle δ of less than 80° with respect to a horizontal plane parallel to the walkable surface 2. Preferably, the angle δ is greater than 10°. Even more preferably, the angle δ is 60°.
[0012] On the other hand, the platform 1 also includes stiffeners 20 arranged transversely beneath the deck structure 2. Each stiffener 20 is attached to a respective flank 3. The stiffeners 20 are arranged parallel to each other and spaced apart. Each stiffener 20 comprises a central part 21 parallel to the walkable surface 2 and ends 23 through which the stiffener 20 is attached to each respective flank 3. Each end 23 comprises a plate 26 with an inclined surface 23b through which the stiffener 20 is attached to the transition surface 14 of the respective flank 3. Each inclined surface 23b of the stiffener 23 is a flat surface that runs parallel to the inclined surface 14 of the flank 3.
[0013] In the embodiment shown in the figures, each end 23b of the stiffening 20 further comprises a horizontal section 23a, wherein the inclined section 23b is arranged adjoining the horizontal section 23a, the horizontal section 23a and the inclined surface 23b of each end 23 of the stiffening 20 defining a space 24 for arranging at least one end of a fastening tool for attaching the stiffening 20 to the flanks 3, in particular an automatic fastening tool. Preferably, the stiffening 20 is fixed to the flanks 3 by means of rivets 25.
[0014] Fig.Figure 6 schematically shows a fastening tool, preferably an automatic riveting tool 26, in a working position, by which the stiffener 20 is fastened to the flanks 3. In the working position, the fastening tool 26 is arranged orthogonally to the inclined section 23b of the stiffener 20. If the angle δ of the inclination of the inclined section 23b of the stiffener 20 were greater than 80°, the fastening tool 26 would not be able to fix the inclined section 23b of the stiffener 20, as it would abut against the central part 21 of the stiffener 20. On the other hand, an angle δ of the inclined section 23b of less than 10° would force an elongation of the corresponding flank 3, which is also undesirable.
[0015] In the embodiment shown in the figures, the central part 21 of the stiffening 20 is arranged separately from the deck structure 2. Thus, the stiffenings 20 serve as a handle, allowing the operator to manipulate the platform 1 by grasping it via the stiffenings 20.
[0016] In the embodiment shown in the figures, the flank 3 comprises an upper section 11 adjoining the deck structure 2, a lateral section 12, a lower section 13, and the inclined section 14, which extends from the lower section 13 to the inside of the platform 1 and separates from the lateral section 12. Each flank 3 further comprises an end section 15, which runs substantially parallel to the walkable surface 6 and is located within the platform 1 between the deck structure 2 and the lower section 13. The end section 15 extends from one end of the inclined section 14 into the lateral section 12.
[0017] Each flank 3 contains projections 11a and 13a to the outside of the flank 3 at the upper section 11 and at the lower section 13, which allow for safe vertical stacking of the platforms 1, since the projections 11a of the upper section 11 of a flank 3 fit between the projections 13a of the lower section 13 of the flank 3 stacked above it.
[0018] In the embodiment shown in the figures, the cover structure 2 and the flanks 3 form a sheet metal profile, preferably profiled. In other embodiments, the flanks 3 can be extruded parts welded to the cover structure 2. QUOTES INCLUDED IN THE DESCRIPTION
