Abstract

Electric axle comprising: a traction motor; and an input planetary gear set arranged coaxially to the traction motor, comprising: a sun gear rotaryly coupled to the traction motor; and a carrier rotaryly coupled to a shift sleeve; a multi-start planetary gear set arranged coaxially to the input planetary gear set; and a shifting arrangement with the shift sleeve arranged axially between the input planetary gear set and the multi-start planetary gear set; wherein the shifting arrangement is configured: in a first position to rotaryly couple the carrier to a sun gear in the multi-start planetary gear set; and in a second position to rotaryly couple the carrier to a carrier in the multi-start planetary gear set.
