Abstract
Description
Problem description and state of the art The purpose of the present invention is to solve the problem of a shower or bathtub curtain pressing into the shower or bathtub in a simple and effective manner. Previous inventions have not been able to adequately solve the problem described here. Inventions in this field are either very complex to install, often involving modifications to the building structure and therefore unsuitable for every living situation, or they only inadequately solve the underlying problem. In practice, due to a lack of suitable alternatives, makeshift solutions are frequently employed, which are often only moderately satisfactory. The invention of the shower curtain stopper provides a simple and reliable solution. Structure and function The present invention, the shower curtain stopper, is attached to the inside of the shower tray or bathtub by means of an internal magnet. The shower curtain (preferably made of plastic due to its lower thickness) is located between the shower tray / bathtub and the curtain stopper. The shower curtain stopper is designed in such a way that it is universally adapted to the shape of the shower tray or bathtub rim radius. This means that the shower curtain stopper also rests on the upper edge of the shower tray / bathtub, where the shower curtain stopper has another magnet inside a rotatably mounted roller. This provides an additional holding point, preventing the shower curtain stopper from being pushed off the edge of the shower tray / bathtub when the shower curtain is pressed harder. To further tighten the shower curtain, the shower curtain stopper also has a pendulum arm which can be released from its locking position by simply pushing / sliding upwards and unfolds by means of a pivot axis with a leg spring. The pendulum arm contains an extension with a ball head, which is automatically pushed out by means of an underlying compression spring when the pendulum arm is released. This causes the ball head to press against the shower curtain with some pressure, pushing it outwards and thus creating additional tension. The spring-loaded ball head extension and the spring-loaded pendulum arm itself flexibly counteract the movements of the shower curtain. The shower curtain stopper makes it possible to preserve the entire shower space without the shower curtain reducing the space by being pushed inwards, thus restricting the showering person's freedom of movement. The shower curtain stopper also features a mounting option for non-magnetic shower trays / bathtubs. For this purpose, there are two parallel grooves on the underside of the shower curtain stopper into which a sliding carriage can be inserted. This carriage, with a little play for the shower curtain, is then placed onto a metal plate. The metal plate is first attached to the edge of the shower tray or bathtub using a waterproof adhesive pad. With a magnetic surface, the horizontal position of the shower curtain stopper on the edge of the shower tray or bathtub can be freely selected, whereas with a non-magnetic surface, the position once selected cannot be changed by attaching the glued metal plate. The shower curtain stopper is pressed back into the locking position by pushing in the ball head extension and folding in the pendulum arm, and can then be removed from the edge of the shower tray / bathtub by gently pulling it off.
Claims
Shower curtain stopper characterized by the fact that it consists of a body adapted to the edge of the shower tray or bathtub, the upper end of which is curved at an approximately right angle, and contains a flat magnet inside for attachment to a shower or bathtub edge. Shower curtain stoppers are characterized by the fact that they have an additional magnet inside a rotatably mounted plastic roller at their upper, curved end. Shower curtain stoppers are characterized by having an axle that can be rotated by approximately 250Β° and a leg spring. Shower curtain stopper characterized by the fact that a pendulum arm with spring is mounted on the pivot axis, and a compression spring with an additional telescopic extension with a spherically shaped head is located in the hollow pendulum arm. Shower curtain stopper characterized by the fact that the pivot axis with pendulum arm and telescopic extension is located in a vertical recess, flush with the body surface (integrated into the body) when locked in the state. Shower curtain stopper characterized by the fact that the shower curtain stopper has two grooves underneath into which a holding device can be inserted for attachment to non-metallic shower or bathtub edges. Shower curtain stopper characterized by a square cutout in its upper, curved end, which allows the shower curtain stopper to be inserted into a wall bracket with a corresponding recess. Shower curtain stopper characterized by the fact that the ball head has a locking lug at its upper end which, when pushed back, engages in the pendulum arm and, when the pendulum arm is folded back, engages in a locking position by means of a pivot axis inside the body through the compression spring in the pendulum arm below the telescopic extension.
