Portable backrest for beer benches

Abstract

Portable backrest for beer benches (2) comprising a flat seat surface with a top and a bottom, with a conventional chair backrest (4) having an upper end and a lower end, a support (6) for the top of the beer bench (2) having a front and a rear end, and a support (8) which is arranged at the front end of the support (6) and which at least partially surrounds the top and bottom of the beer bench (2) in a U-shape, wherein the chair backrest (4) is attached with its lower end to the rear end of the support (6).

Description

[0001] Beer benches are versatile, easy to transport, and sturdy. However, they have one problem: they are not very comfortable, especially for extended periods of sitting, such as at a festival or concert. You sit for long stretches, your back aches, and there's nowhere to lean back. A portable backrest for beer benches would significantly improve seating comfort.

[0002] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a portable backrest for beer benches that increases the seating comfort of beer benches.

[0004] By combining a conventional chair backrest with a pad on the seat of a beer bench and a bracket on the pad, the portable backrest for beer benches can be detachably attached to a beer bench, resulting in a seat with a backrest.

[0005] According to the advantageous embodiment of the invention as described in claim 2, the chair backrest can be folded backward to a fixed angle, resulting in a comfortable sitting position. The chair backrest can be tilted forward to any desired angle, allowing the portable backrest to be transported in a compact state.

The portable backrest comprises a conventional chair backrest 4, a support 6 on the beer bench 2, and a bracket 8 for fixing the portable backrest to the beer bench 2. The chair backrest 4 comprises a left and a right backrest support 4-1, 4-2, which are arranged at a distance from each other. In the upper region of the two backrest supports 4-1, 4-2, a backrest element 4-3 connects the two backrest supports 4-1, 4-2. The support 6 is designed in two parts and comprises a left and a right support rail 6-1, 6-2, which rest on the beer bench 2. The seat surface associated with the portable backrest lies on the beer bench 2 between the two support rails 6-1, 6-2. The bracket 8 is also constructed in two parts and comprises a left and a right vertical rail 8-1, 8-2 as well as a left and a right horizontal rail 8-3, 8-4.The two vertical slats 8-1, 8-2 are screwed to the front ends of the respective support slats 6-1, 6-2 and to one end of the respective horizontal slats 8-3, 8-4. The support slats 6-1, 6-2 and the horizontal slats 8-3, 8-4 are screwed parallel to each other and spaced apart, with the spacing corresponding to the thickness of the beer bench 2. This arrangement allows the portable backrest to be slid onto the beer bench 2.
