Description

[0001] The invention relates to a brush for use with a rotating tool, comprising an outer cap, an inner cap, a plurality of brush braids arranged between the outer cap and the inner cap, and a perforated disc having a plurality of bores for receiving the brush braids.

[0002] A brush of this type is known from EP 3 932 253 B1. A similar brush is also shown in DE 20 2019 104 172 U1.

[0003] These familiar brushes are used, for example, in brush cutters, angle grinders, or similar rotating tools. A wide variety of tasks can be carried out very effectively with these brushes.

[0004] However, one problem associated with these common brushes is their imbalance, which can lead to vibrations and thus to high strain on the hand and arm of the person using the rotating tool with the attached brush. This can lead to a condition known as white finger disease in affected individuals.

[0005] It is therefore an object of the present invention to create a brush for use with a rotating tool which has a lower imbalance in operation and thus leads to less vibration.

[0006] According to the invention, this problem is solved by the features mentioned in claim 1.

[0007] According to the invention, the inner cap of the brush has a number of indentations on its outer circumference corresponding to the number of brush braids, against which the brush braids rest.

[0008] This results in a defined contact between the brush bristles and a stable component, ensuring precise radial and vertical alignment, especially during brush assembly. Furthermore, the bristles are very well guided even at higher speeds and are far less prone to changing position during rotation than is the case with conventional brushes. Consequently, the brush according to the invention generates significantly less vibration during rotation. This vibration cannot propagate to the rotating tool and from there to the user's hand or arm. The brush according to the invention therefore protects the user from potential health risks and is also considerably more comfortable to use than conventional brushes.

[0009] Because the brush braids are clamped between the inner cap and the outer cap, the outer cap ensures a good hold of the brush braids even at higher speeds and the centrifugal forces that occur.

[0010] An alternative solution to the problem results from the features mentioned in claim 2.

[0011] According to this solution, the outer cap of the brush has a number of indentations on its inner circumference corresponding to the number of brush braids, against which the brush braids rest.

[0012] This embodiment of the brush has the same advantages as the solution mentioned above, with the brush braids being held even more precisely in their position.

[0013] To avoid imbalances even more reliably, a very advantageous further development of the invention may provide that the indentations are arranged evenly distributed around the outer circumference of the inner cap or the inner circumference of the outer cap.

[0014] In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, if the indentations are directly adjacent to one another, the brush bristles can also be arranged directly next to each other, thereby increasing the density of the brush bristles and thus the effectiveness of the entire brush. Furthermore, this allows the brush to have a large number of brush bristles even with smaller diameters.

[0015] Particularly good guidance for the brush braids is achieved if the indentations have a curved section in their middle area, as this allows the brush braids to lie very well against the inner cap.

[0016] A further advantageous embodiment of the invention can consist in the outer cap having a bend extending away from the inner cap for receiving the respective loops of the brush braids. In this way, the brush braids have sufficient space at their end located inside the brush and are not crushed, so that their shape is retained. This also prevents the formation of imbalances.

[0017] Furthermore, the outer cap, inner cap, and perforated disc can be held in place by a retaining element that connects the brush to the rotating tool. This not only allows for very simple assembly of the brush components but also ensures precise positioning and thus smooth brush rotation.

[0018] A particularly good compromise between a compact design and high brush effectiveness is achieved when 18 brush braids and 18 notches are provided.

[0019] An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown below in principle with reference to the drawing.

[0020] It shows: Fig. 1 a side view of a first embodiment of the brush according to the invention; Fig. 2 a cut along line II-II from Fig. 1; Fig. 3 a view of the brush according to arrow III from Fig. 1; Fig. 4 a perspective view of the brush made of Fig. 1; Fig. 5 another perspective view of the brush Fig. 1; Fig. 6 a side view of a second embodiment of the brush according to the invention; Fig. 7 a cut along line VII-VII from Fig. 6; Fig. 8 a view of the brush according to arrow VIII from Fig. 6; Fig. 9 a perspective view of the brush from Fig. 6; Fig. 10 another perspective view of the brush from Fig. 6;

[0021] The Fig. Figures 1 to 5 show a first embodiment of a brush 1 for use with a rotating tool (not shown).

[0022] The brush 1 has an outer cap 2, an inner cap 3, and a plurality of brush braids 4 arranged between the outer cap 2 and the inner cap 3. As shown in the section of Fig. As can be seen, the outer cap 2 surrounds the inner cap 3 and together with the brush braids 4 forms the outer contour of the brush 1.

[0023] The brush 1 further comprises a perforated disc 5, which in turn has a plurality of bores 6 for receiving the brush bristles 4. The bores 6 of the perforated disc 5 are in Fig. 2 can only be identified by the fact that the respective loops 4a of the brush braids 4 run through the same loops. The loops 4a of the brush braids 4 located between the outer cap 2 and the inner cap 3 thus not only hold the brush braids 4 to the perforated disc 5, but the loops 4a also form the essential part of the brush braids 4 that is located between the outer cap 2 and the inner cap 3.

[0024] As especially in the Fig. 3 and Fig. As can be seen in Figure 4, the inner cap 3 has several indentations 7 on its outer circumference, against which the brush bristles 4 rest. The number of indentations 7 corresponds to the number of brush bristles 4. In the illustrated embodiment, the brush 1 has 18 brush bristles 4 and 18 indentations 7. Particularly in brushes with a larger or smaller diameter, this number of brush bristles 4 and, accordingly, of indentations 7 can also be larger or smaller.

[0025] Preferably, the indentations 7 are evenly distributed around the outer circumference of the inner cap 3. To enable a particularly high density of brush bristles 4, the indentations 7 are directly adjacent to one another. This results, as shown in Fig. Figure 3 shows an outer contour of the inner cap 3 similar to a gear, wherein the notches 7 are each separated from each other by intermediate elevations 8.

[0026] In their central region, the indentations 7 each have a curved section 7a, so that the brush bristles 4, which are round in cross-section, can bear against the indentations 7 over a large area. Preferably, the radius of curvature of the curved sections 7a corresponds substantially to the radius of curvature of the brush bristles 4.

[0027] As again from the cut of Fig. As can be seen from Figure 2, the outer cap 2 has a bend 9 extending away from the inner cap 3 for receiving the loops 4a of the brush braids 4. This ensures that the brush braids 4 are only minimally deformed when assembled between the outer cap 2 and the inner cap 3 and can therefore maintain their alignment resulting from the indentations 7, thus achieving high concentricity.

[0028] Also from the cut of Fig. Figure 2 shows that the outer cap 2, the inner cap 3, and the perforated disc 5 are held by a retaining element 10 that connects the brush 1 to the rotating tool. In this case, the retaining element 10 has a thread 11 for connection to the rotating tool. The outer cap 2 thus faces the rotating tool, while the inner cap 3 faces away from it.

[0029] The Fig. Figures 6 to 10 show a second embodiment of a brush 1 for use with a rotating tool (not shown). The basic structure of the brush 1 corresponds to that of the first embodiment according to the Fig. 1 to 5, i.e. the brush 1 has the outer cap 2, the inner cap 3, a plurality of brush braids 4 arranged between the outer cap 2 and the inner cap 3, the perforated disc 5 and the retaining element 10.

[0030] In contrast to the embodiment according to the Fig. In embodiments 1 to 5, the inner cap 3 has no indentations 7 on its outer circumference. Instead, the outer cap 2 has a number of indentations 12 on its inner circumference corresponding to the number of brush bristles 4, against which the brush bristles 4 rest. In this embodiment as well, the brush bristles 4 have a defined contact with a stable component, namely the outer cap 2, so that the brush bristles 4 are precisely aligned radially and vertically, particularly during the assembly of the brush 1.

[0031] As in the embodiment according to the Fig.In notches 1 to 5, the indentations 12 are preferably arranged evenly around the inner circumference of the outer cap 2 and are directly adjacent to one another, with the indentations 12 being separated from each other by intermediate raised sections 13. Furthermore, the indentations 12 each have a curved section 12a in their central region, the radius of curvature of which essentially corresponds to the radius of curvature of the brush bristles 4.

[0032] All components of the brush 1 are preferably made of a metallic material, such as steel. However, suitable plastics can also be used, particularly for the brush bristles 4. The outer cap 2, the inner cap 3, and the perforated disc 5 are preferably manufactured by forming, and, in the case of the inner cap 3 and the perforated disc 5, additionally by stamping. The retaining element 10 can be manufactured by machining and / or extrusion. QUOTES INCLUDED IN THE DESCRIPTION
