Abstract
Description
Application area of the invention The present invention belongs to the field of technology for traffic signal systems, which are preferably used in road tunnels, although use in railway tunnels and underground galleries for vehicle or passenger traffic is not excluded. The special feature of this invention is that a signal light and an emergency light are integrated into the same lighting device. State of the art Currently, safety lighting systems in tunnels consist of two independent devices: a 24V-powered traffic control light and an autonomous emergency light with a 220V power supply. This configuration requires the installation of two different products with different wiring, increasing installation effort, maintenance, and costs. Such a safety lighting system is described in utility model ES 1 304 863 U of the same proprietor of the present invention, which comprises a channel with a general C-section, suitable for being attached longitudinally to the side walls of the tunnels, and through whose interior run cables for the power supply of signal lights and emergency lights, spaced apart from each other along the channel and independently attached to the front opening of this channel. On the other hand, most emergency lights currently installed in road tunnels are products originally designed for buildings with low lighting requirements, derived from old legal standards that demand very low luminosity. The technical problem therefore lies in the development of a lighting system that makes it possible to reduce the manufacturing costs of the signal lights and emergency lights required in road tunnels and to simplify and reduce their installation costs. Explanation of the invention The lighting device according to the invention, which can be used in road tunnels, railway tunnels and underground galleries for vehicle or pedestrian traffic, has technical features that enable it to satisfactorily solve the problem described above by integrating them in the same housing: a signal light for road guidance, a high-efficiency emergency light and an electrical circuit that makes it possible to connect the lighting device to the same power supply line, for example to 220 V AC, to supply the signal light and the emergency light, thereby eliminating the need to install two separate power supply lines: one for the signal lights and the other for the emergency lights, which are currently separate devices. Another advantage of the invention is based on the use of matrix LED technology in combination with high-performance batteries, which makes it possible to improve the light intensity and extend the operating time in the event of a power failure. The aforementioned circuit includes: a power input connected to an external power supply line and a transformer connected to the power input, which supplies the traffic direction signal light in the tunnel during operation of the supply. The aforementioned circuit also includes emergency power electronics connected to the aforementioned power input, which control the charging of the internal batteries, with these emergency power electronics being responsible for supplying the emergency light with power from the batteries when it detects a power failure. Normally, the lighting system serves as a traffic direction indicator in the tunnel, while the emergency power electronics simultaneously control the charging of the internal batteries. In the event of a power outage, the electronic circuit automatically activates the emergency light's power supply from the batteries, thus ensuring sufficient illumination to facilitate evacuation from the tunnel. According to the invention, this lighting device comprises at least two signal lights arranged on two opposite sides of the housing of the lighting device and facing two opposite directions of traffic, so that they are clearly visible to persons or drivers of vehicles traveling in the tunnel, as well as an emergency light arranged at the front of the housing and having a configuration suitable for illuminating a large front area extending to the sides of the device. This lighting system offers several advantages, including reduced installation and maintenance costs by combining two functions in a single unit. It improves tunnel safety by ensuring continuous illumination in all situations. It also simplifies wiring and improves energy efficiency. Furthermore, the use of high-performance batteries provides increased reliability in emergency situations. This lighting system thus represents a significant improvement over current solutions by optimizing the safety and efficiency of lighting management in tunnels, and its advanced features make it a highly competitive product in the market for traffic safety and evacuation in underground infrastructures. Brief description of the drawings To supplement the description given and to better understand the features of this invention, some drawings are included with this description, in which the following are shown for illustration purposes, but without limitation: - Figures 1 and 2 show two side views of an embodiment of the lighting device according to the invention. - Figures 3 and 4 show a profile and a top view of the lighting device. - Figure 5 shows a schematic representation of the power supply circuit of the lighting device. Detailed description of the exemplary implementations In the example shown in the accompanying illustrations, the lighting device with integrated signal light and emergency light, which can be used in road tunnels, railway tunnels and underground galleries for passenger or vehicle traffic, comprises: a housing (1) in which the following are integrated: a signal light (2) for road guidance, an emergency light (3) equipped with LED matrices, and a circuit (4) for supplying power to the signal light (2) and the emergency light (3), which is connected to an external power supply line (L). The lighting device comprises two signal lights (2) arranged on two opposite sides (11, 12) of the housing (1) and facing two opposite directions of traffic, and an emergency light (3) arranged on a front (13) of the housing (1) of the lighting device, comprising a central LED matrix (31) perpendicular to the direction of pedestrian or vehicle traffic and two lateral LED matrices (32, 33) that diverge slightly towards the rear of the housing (1) of the device. By attaching a signal light (2) to each side of the housing (1) of the lighting device, it is ensured that it can be seen from both possible directions of traffic by vehicles or persons in the tunnel. The configuration of the emergency light (3) with the central LED matrix (31) and the two slightly diverging lateral LED matrices (32, 33) ensures the illumination of a large front and side area in the event of a failure of the external power supply. In the example shown in Fig. 5, the aforementioned circuit (4) includes a current input (41) which is connected to an external line (L) for power supply, e.g. 220 V AC, and a transformer (42) for powering the signal lights (2). This transformer (42) is connected to the power input (41) and converts the input current of 220 V AC to 24 V DC to power the light elements of the signal lights (2), which consist of LED matrices, while the external line (L) provides the power supply. This circuit (4) additionally includes a circuit board (43) which is connected to the power input (41) and controls the charging of the 12 V DC batteries (44) and supplies the emergency light (3) with power from the batteries (44) when it detects a power failure on the external line (L) of the power supply. In this version, the lighting elements of the emergency light (3) consist of LED matrices which are supplied by the batteries (44) when the power supply of the external line (L) fails. As already mentioned, this light has a dual function, namely as a signal light and as an emergency light; it uses a highly efficient matrix LED technology as its light source and is connected to an external power supply line, for example to 220 V AC, with the circuit (4) being responsible for adjusting the current required for the normal operation of the signal lights and the emergency light in the event of a failure of the external power supply. The use of high-performance batteries allows for an emergency lighting duration of 1.5 hours. The lighting device can be activated automatically in the event of a power failure, manually via a switch, or remotely. In the example shown, the housing (1) has an IP rating for protection against the ingress of water and dust. The power supply of the external line (L) to the lighting device can be provided through the rear of the housing (1) or through (unspecified) side entries with glands for added safety, which allow for easy connection and installation. It should be noted that the voltages given for illustrative purposes may vary and are therefore not limiting.
