Description

[0001] The present invention relates to an inspection device for inspecting a cable tip of a cable and a method for cleaning the mirrors of an inspection device.

[0002] EP 3 109 624 A1 describes a prior art inspection device for inspecting a cable tip of a cable. The inspection device in EP 3 109 624 A1 comprises a camera, an illumination device, and a conical mirror collar (i.e., a conical arrangement of individual mirrors around a central axis). To inspect the cable tip or for quality control, a cable tip is inserted into the conical mirror collar, where a camera records the mirror images of the cable tip. This recording is assessed using software, i.e., the cable tip is inspected for quality. The inspection takes place before and after crimping to inspect or ensure the quality of the stripping and the connection of the crimp contact to the cable (i.e., the crimp connection). This can be done by inserting the cable tip twice into a single testing device or by using two separate testing devices.

[0003] One aspect of inspection devices that must be considered is the contamination of parts of the inspection device, especially the camera and / or mirrors, with dirt and / or dust, especially from the cable being inspected, which can lead to errors in the quality inspection using the camera. Without cleaning the mirrors, the inspection of the cable tip using the inspection device may no longer be reliably possible after just one day under unfavorable conditions.

[0004] EP 3 109 624 A1 proposes reducing contamination by placing the elements of the inspection device (i.e., camera, illumination device, and conical mirror collar) in a housing in which an overpressure is generated. This is intended to prevent the penetration of dirt particles into the housing.

[0005] A disadvantage of previously known inspection devices is that the mirrors are clamped and / or laboriously glued to a mirror support, whereby the alignment of the mirrors must be observed and adjusted. The intermediate layer of adhesive between the mirror and the mirror support or mirror device is particularly problematic. Since the entire contact surface between the mirror device or mirror support and mirror is usually used for bonding, mechanical stresses can arise in the mirror due to the different thermal expansion of the various materials (adhesive, mirror, mirror support or mirror device). This can lead to optical impairment when viewing the reflections of the mirrors and / or to damage the mirrors. In addition, the mirror supports have currently been screwed to the mirror device. When cleaning the mirrors outside of the inspection device, which is necessary from time to time, the mirror collar orThe entire mirror device is handled or held, since the mirror supports are attached to the mirror device by means of screws. Reattaching or realigning the mirrors in the mirror device after loosening or removing an individual mirror support is also technically complex. In addition, the mirror supports by means of which the mirrors are attached and aligned in the mirror device are often very heavy, making handling the mirrors (with the mirror support) difficult or time-consuming when cleaning them. Among other things, there may be a need for an inspection device for inspecting a cable tip of a cable, in which the insertion and / or removal of mirrors of the inspection device is technically simple.Furthermore, there may be a need, among other things, for a method for cleaning the mirrors of an inspection device by means of which the mirrors are cleaned in a technically simple manner and the mirrors are inserted into the inspection device in a technically simple manner after cleaning.

[0006] EP1296162A1 relates to a polygon reflector and its use in an optical exposure system of a photolithography system.

[0007] Such a need can be met by an inspection device for inspecting a cable tip of a cable according to independent claim 1 or a method for cleaning the mirrors of an inspection device according to claim 13. Advantageous embodiments are defined in the dependent claims.

[0008] According to a first aspect of the invention, an inspection device for inspecting a cable tip of a cable, in particular a processed cable, preferably a cable connected to a crimp contact via a crimp connection, is proposed, wherein the inspection device has a mirror device with a central axis, wherein the cable tip can be arranged in the mirror device along the central axis for inspecting the cable tip, wherein the mirror device comprises a plurality of mirror elements arranged at a predetermined angle to one another and at a predetermined angle to the central axis, each comprising a mirror for viewing the cable tip arranged along the central axis of the mirror device from different viewing angles, wherein the inspection device further comprises a camera for generating images of the cable tip from different viewing angles by means of the mirrors, characterized in thatthat at least some of the mirror elements, in particular all mirror elements, are held in their respective position in the mirror device by magnets.,

[0009] The advantage of this is that the mirror elements or mirrors are typically held in their position in a technically simple manner. In addition, the connection between the mirror device and the mirror elements or mirrors can generally be broken and reconnected non-destructively or reversibly in a technically simple manner. In particular, the mirror elements can usually be removed from the mirror device in a technically simple manner, e.g. for cleaning, and reinserted into the mirror device. In addition, the occurrence of mechanical stresses in the mirrors is typically prevented in a technically simple manner. In addition, the mirror elements can typically be aligned with respect to the mirror device in a technically simple manner. The mirror elements can also usually be lightweight, which makes handling the mirror elements particularly easy. The mirror elements can usually be easily removed individually from the mirror device, which generally makes the cleaning process even easier.

[0010] According to a second aspect of the invention, a method for cleaning the mirrors of an inspection device for inspecting a cable tip of a cable as described above is proposed, wherein the inspection device has a mirror device with a central axis, wherein the cable tip can be arranged in the mirror device along the central axis for inspecting the cable tip, wherein the mirror device comprises a plurality of mirror elements arranged at a predetermined angle to one another and at a predetermined angle to the central axis, each comprising a mirror for viewing the cable tip arranged along the central axis of the mirror device from different viewing angles, wherein the inspection device further comprises a camera for generating images of the cable tip from different viewing angles by means of the mirrors,The method comprises the following steps: removing the mirror device from the inspection device; releasing a magnetic connection between at least one of the mirror elements and the mirror device and removing the at least one mirror element from the mirror device; cleaning the mirror of the at least one mirror element; inserting the cleaned at least one mirror element into the mirror device in a predetermined position and attaching the mirror element to the mirror device by means of a magnet; and inserting the mirror device into the inspection device.

[0011] This typically makes cleaning the mirror elements technically easy. In particular, there is usually no need to loosen a technically complex connection (e.g. a screw connection) in order to remove the mirror elements from the mirror device. Furthermore, the mirror elements are typically technically easy to reinsert into the mirror device. Furthermore, the occurrence of mechanical stresses in the mirrors is generally technically easily prevented. This makes the cleaning process particularly easy to carry out. The mirror elements can also usually be lightweight, which makes handling the mirror elements particularly easy. The mirror elements can usually be removed individually from the mirror device technically easily, which generally makes the cleaning process even easier. In addition, the mirror elements can generally be designed to be insensitive to impacts or similar. In particular, the person performing the cleaning can typically concentrate on removing the mirrors or mirror elements from the mirror device, since the mirror elements are held in place by magnets (making it technically easy to remove the mirror elements from the mirror device) and the mirror elements can be lightweight (making handling particularly easy).

[0012] Possible features and advantages of embodiments of the invention may be considered, among other things and without limiting the invention, to be based on ideas and findings described below.

[0013] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, the mirror elements each further comprise a plate, in particular a metal plate, wherein the mirrors are each firmly connected to the plate, in particular by means of an adhesive connection. The plates each comprise a material such that the plates can be attracted by magnets. This is advantageous in that the mirrors can be connected to the mirror device in a technically simple manner and in a predetermined position.

[0014] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, the plates each comprise one or more adhesive recesses for receiving an adhesive of the adhesive bond. An advantage of this is that the mirrors can be arranged particularly precisely parallel to the respective plate.

[0015] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, the respective plate in the adhesive recess has a chamfer at an end facing away from the mirror for improved bonding of the adhesive to the plate. This allows the bond between the plate and the adhesive to be improved or made even more secure.

[0016] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, the respective size of the contact surface of the adhesive with the respective mirror substantially corresponds to a diameter of the respective adhesive recess for receiving the adhesive parallel to the surface of the plate. The advantage of this is that any expansion and / or shrinkage of the plate and / or the mirror and / or the adhesive due to temperature changes does not negatively affect the connection between the plate and the respective mirror. Since the connection between the plate and the respective mirror only exists via a surface that corresponds to the diameter of the adhesive recess, the emergence of mechanical stresses or even bending of the mirror and / or the plate due to temperature changes is essentially prevented. This ensures that the surface of the respective mirror always runs parallel to the surface of the plate.

[0017] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, the mirror device comprises support surfaces for resting on the rear surfaces of the mirrors of the mirror elements, wherein the support surfaces each have a recess for receiving the respective plate. This is advantageous in that the mirrors are technically easily aligned, so that after insertion, the respective mirror is technically easily aligned relative to the central axis and the other mirrors without any further measures. Thus, the mirror is held or positioned at a predetermined location in a first direction, since the respective mirror or mirror element is essentially unable to move in a direction perpendicular to the respective support surface.

[0018] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, stops are arranged at the ends of the plates facing away from the central axis of the inspection device to hold the mirror elements in a predetermined position in the mirror device. This provides a simple technical solution to prevent the respective mirror element from sliding down or moving away from the central axis parallel to a support surface of the mirror, on which the mirror rests with its rear surface. Thus, the mirror or mirror element is held or positioned at a predetermined location in a second direction.

[0019] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, the mirror device has a plurality of lateral mirror boundaries, wherein the lateral mirror boundaries are arranged on two opposite sides of the respective mirror for holding the respective mirror in a predetermined position. This is advantageous in that the mirrors are held in their respective predetermined position on two (further) sides. Thus, the mirror is held or positioned at a predetermined location in a third direction. Together with the stop and the support surface, the respective mirror element and consequently the respective mirror are held in the predetermined position relative to the central axis or aligned relative to the central axis in all three spatial dimensions.

[0020] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, the inspection device is designed such that the mirror device can be removed from the inspection device and inserted into the inspection device. This is advantageous in that the mirror elements or mirrors can be removed from the mirror device with particular technical ease. Furthermore, the mirror elements or mirrors can be reinserted into the mirror device with technical ease. Furthermore, the mirror device can be exchanged or replaced with another mirror device with technical ease.

[0021] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, the plates of the mirror elements are each arranged at a distance from the magnets. This allows the mirrors to be aligned even more precisely relative to the central axis. Furthermore, expansion and / or shrinkage due to temperature changes do not cause mechanical stress in the mirror element or plate. This leads to a particularly reliable alignment of the mirror elements or mirrors relative to the central axis.

[0022] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, each of the mirrors has a trapezoidal shape when viewed from above, and one end of the plate is flush with the shorter of the two parallel sides of the mirror. This allows the mirrors to be aligned with particular precision. Furthermore, the plate can be aligned with particular precision relative to the mirror.

[0023] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, the mirror device is designed to be mirror-symmetrical with respect to the central axis. This is advantageous in that the orientation of the mirror device is typically irrelevant when inserted into the inspection device. Thus, the mirror device can generally be inserted into the inspection device without verifying a specific orientation of the mirror device with respect to the central axis. This typically facilitates the insertion of the mirror device.

[0024] According to one embodiment of the inspection device, each mirror element is attached to the mirror device by means of two magnets, wherein the magnets are arranged in recesses of the recess. This has the advantage that the mirror device can typically be very compact. Furthermore, the mirror elements are generally attached to the mirror device particularly reliably.

[0025] According to one embodiment of the method, the method further comprises the following step: attaching the at least one mirror element to a mirror holding device by means of magnets for holding the mirror element during cleaning of the mirror. This is advantageous in that the mirror elements are typically held in a technically simple manner during the cleaning process.

[0026] It should be noted that some of the possible features and advantages of the invention are described herein with reference to various embodiments. One skilled in the art will recognize that the features may be appropriately combined, adapted, or interchanged to achieve further embodiments of the invention.

[0027] Embodiments of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein neither the drawings nor the description are to be construed as limiting the invention. Fig. 1 shows a perspective partial sectional view of an embodiment of the checking device according to the invention; Fig. 2 shows a side sectional view of the checking device from Fig. 1 ; Fig. 3 shows a perspective view of the mirror device of the inspection device of Fig. 1 or Fig. 2 ; Fig. 4 shows a sectional view of the mirror device from Fig. 3 ; Fig. 5 shows a perspective view of the mirror device from Fig. 3 , without some mirrors; Fig. 6 shows a perspective view of a mirror element of the inspection device of Fig. 1 or Fig. 2 ; and Fig. 7 shows a device with the checking device from Fig. 1 captured image of the cable tip.

[0028] The figures are merely schematic and not to scale. The same reference numerals designate the same or equivalent features in the various figures.

[0029] Fig. 1 shows a perspective partial sectional view of an embodiment of the checking device according to the invention. Fig. 2 shows a side sectional view of the inspection device from Fig. 1 .

[0030] The inspection device 1 is designed to check or inspect a cable tip 23 or a cable end of a cable 40. For this purpose, the inspection device 1 has a mirror device 5, an illumination device 3, and a camera 2.

[0031] The cable 40 or the cable tip 23 is inserted into the mirror device 5 along a central axis 24 of the mirror device 5, wherein the central axis 24 runs horizontally, through a cable receiving opening 30. The cable 40 is held in this position by a cable centering device 21. The central axis 24 runs centrally through the cable receiving opening 30 of the mirror device 5.

[0032] The cable centering device 21 has a first vertically movable parallel gripper, which can move two clamping plates toward each other, and a second horizontally movable parallel gripper, which can also move two clamping plates toward each other. The four clamping plates hold the cable 40 and simultaneously center it, so that the cable 40 or the cable tip 23 runs along the central axis 24 in the mirror device 5.

[0033] The mirror device 5 comprises a plurality of mirrors 60-67 in the form of a mirror collar 4 around the central axis 24 or the cable tip 23.

[0034] The mirrors 60-67 of the mirror device 5 are each arranged at the same angle to one another and completely surround the central axis 24. For example, the mirror device 5 can comprise eight mirrors 60-67, so that each mirror 60-67 is aligned at an angle of 360° / 8 = 45° to the immediately adjacent mirror 60-67. It is also conceivable for the mirror device 5 to comprise only five or six mirrors 60-67 that completely surround the cable tip 23.

[0035] In addition, the mirrors 60-67 are arranged in such a way that they taper conically towards the cable receiving opening 30, ie the distance of the mirrors 60-67 to the central axis 24 becomes smaller the closer one moves towards the cable receiving opening 30.

[0036] Mirrors 60-67 each have an angle of approximately 45° to the central axis 24. Mirrors 60-67 are each trapezoidal in plan view. The thickness of mirror 60-67, which runs in the plan view direction, is small compared to the dimensions of the trapezoid of mirror 60-67.

[0037] One or more mirrors 60-67 may each have distance markings to serve as a reference for measuring operations when evaluating the images taken by the camera 2.

[0038] A transparent disc 19 separates the camera 2 and the illumination device 3 on a first side of the disc 19 from the mirror device 5 on a second side of the disc 19. The disc 19 runs vertically.

[0039] The mirror device 5, the disc 19 and the cable centering 21, which almost completely closes the cable receiving opening 30, together delimit the interior or the inner space of the mirror device 5.

[0040] The illumination device 3 comprises a reflector in the form of a paraboloid of revolution, which has a viewing opening for the camera 2. In Fig. 2 the viewing opening is located on the left side, i.e. the side of the reflector or the lighting device 3 facing away from the mirror device 5.

[0041] The illumination device 3 also comprises a ring light 45. The ring light 45 is mounted on the inner edge of the reflector at the end facing the mirror device 5 (in Fig. 2 The illumination device 3 or the ring light 45 is arranged in the shape of a circular disk and has a plurality of light sources, e.g., LEDs, that are evenly distributed around the circumference of the illumination device 3. The light sources are arranged such that their main radiation direction is parallel to the central axis 24, away from the mirror device 5. As a result, the emitted light reaches the reflector and then to the cable tip 23, which is thus illuminated or illuminated from many sides.

[0042] The reflector or the inner surface of the reflector can be made of a white plastic (e.g., polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or polyoxymethylene (POM)) and / or have a white surface or paint layer. The inner surface, which is designed to reflect the light from the lamps, is rough to achieve good light dispersion. The lamps all radiate toward the reflector.

[0043] The viewing direction of camera 2 runs along the central axis 24. Camera 2 captures images or recordings of the cable tip 23 from different viewing angles via reflections from the mirrors 60-67 arranged around the cable tip 23. The number of viewing angles depends on the number of mirrors 60-67. It is also possible for camera 2 to capture only one image, which is divided into multiple images, namely one image per mirror 60-67. It is also possible for camera 2 or multiple cameras to capture a separate image for each mirror 60-67.

[0044] The camera 2 is connected to an evaluation system (not shown). The evaluation system comprises, for example, a computer with evaluation software, wherein the evaluation software analyzes the images of the cable tip 23 from the different viewing angles. The evaluation software can comprise or be image recognition software. The evaluation software can, for example, detect irregularities and / or asymmetries and / or other errors, such as pulled-out and / or spread-out strands of the cable 40 or the cable tip 23. If one or more errors and / or quality defects are detected by the evaluation software, a corresponding error message can be generated. In response to the error message, for example, the cable 40 can be disposed of as scrap, the production of further cables can be temporarily stopped until manual approval, or something similar. A mere recording of the determined variables can also take place.

[0045] The cable 40 can be examined, checked or inspected by means of the inspection device 1 before and / or after processing the cable 40 with a cable processing machine (e.g. a crimping machine) in order to determine changes made to the cable 40 by the cable processing machine.

[0046] Camera 2 can be a digital still camera or digital video camera.

[0047] A transparent disk 19 is arranged between the reflector or illumination device 3 and the mirror device 5, which runs perpendicular to the central axis 24. The disk 19 separates, in particular in a substantially airtight manner, the mirror device 5 from the reflector or illumination device 3 and the camera 2. Thus, no dirt and / or grime from the mirror device 5 or from the cable 40 or the cable tip 23 can enter the reflector and / or the camera 2. The mirror device 5 and the reflector / camera 2 are thus located on two mutually opposite sides of the disk 19.

[0048] A housing 22 of the inspection device 1 encloses the components or parts of the inspection device 1 (i.e., camera 2, reflector, disc 19, and mirror device 5), so that they are protected from dust and / or dirt. When the housing 22 is closed, only the cable receiving opening 30 remains, through which dust and / or dirt can penetrate into the inspection device 1.

[0049] The inspection device 1 also comprises a compressed air cleaning device 20. The compressed air cleaning device 20 is designed to clean the pane 19 and the mirror device 5 from dirt and / or grime by means of compressed air.

[0050] The compressed air cleaning device 20 serves to clean the window 19 and the mirrors 60-67 using compressed air. When the compressed air cleaning device 20 is inserted into the inspection device 1, the compressed air cleaning device 20 or the outlets of the compressed air cleaning device 20 are fluidly connected to a stationary compressed air channel.

[0051] The compressed air cleaning device 20 can be removed from and reinserted into the inspection device 1. For this purpose, the inspection device 1 has a recess into which a calibration element or a gray card for calibrating the (color) camera 2 can also be inserted.

[0052] The camera 2, the lighting device 3, the window 19 and the mirror device 5 are arranged or enclosed in a one-piece or multi-piece cover 22 in order to prevent or at least reduce the ingress of dust and / or dirt.

[0053] Fig. 3 shows a perspective view of the mirror device of the inspection device 1 from Fig. 1 or Fig. 2 . Fig. 4 shows a sectional view of the mirror device 5 from Fig. 3 . Fig. 4 shows in particular a sectional view along a plane comprising the central axis 24.

[0054] The mirror device 5 comprises a plurality of mirror elements 10, 10'. The mirror elements 10, 10' are arranged in the form of a mirror ring. Each mirror element 10, 10' comprises a plate 13 or a sheet and a mirror 60-67 attached thereto. The mirror 60-67 or the surface of the mirror 60-67 is arranged parallel to the surface of the plate 13 or the sheet. The mirror 60-67 is partially glued to the plate 13 or the sheet with its mirror rear surface 12. Fig. 3 the mirror back surfaces 12 and thus also the plates 13 or sheets are not visible.

[0055] The mirror element 10, 10' therefore has no loose elements, but the parts of the mirror element 10, 10', ie mirror 60-67 and sheet or plate 13, are firmly glued together.

[0056] The mirror device 5 can be removed from and reinserted into the inspection device 1. During insertion, the mirror device 5 is aligned using alignment elements such that the central axis 24 runs through the center of the mirror arrangement or through the center of the mirrors 60-67.

[0057] The plate 13 or the sheet has a rectangular shape in plan view. The corners of the rectangular shape can be rounded. The plate 13 or the sheet is made of a material that can be or is attracted by a magnet 9, 9', 9", 9‴. The plate 13 or the sheet can, for example, consist of a ferromagnetic material. The plate 13 or the sheet can, in particular, consist of metal. Plastic, which can be attracted by a magnet 9, 9', 9", 9‴, is also conceivable as a material for the plate 13 or the sheet.

[0058] Typically, the plate 13 or sheet itself does not include a magnet. However, it is also possible for the plate 13 or sheet itself to be magnetic and for the plate 13 or sheet to be magnetically attached to the (e.g., ferromagnetic) metal of the mirror device 5, wherein the mirror device 5 has no magnets apart from the plates 13 or sheets, and / or magnets of the mirror device 5.

[0059] The surface of the plate 13 or the sheet facing the mirror 60-67 has a significantly larger surface area than the thickness of the plate 13 or the sheet, wherein the thickness runs perpendicular to the surface of the plate 13 or the sheet facing the mirror 60-67.

[0060] In the mirror device 5, eight mirror elements 10, 10' or eight mirrors 60-67 are arranged, which thus enable eight different viewing angles of the cable tip 23.

[0061] The mirror elements 10, 10' are magnetically connected to the mirror device 5 by means of the plate 13 or the sheet metal. The mirror device 5 has magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴ for holding the mirror elements 10, 10' in a predetermined position.

[0062] The mirror elements 10, 10' are structurally identical to one another. Thus, the mirror device 5 is also point-symmetrical with respect to a point on the central axis 24.

[0063] Fig. 5 shows a perspective view of the mirror device 5 from Fig. 3 , without some mirrors 60-67. Fig. 6 shows a perspective view of a mirror element 10, 10' of the inspection device 1 from Fig. 1 or Fig. 2 .

[0064] In Fig. 5 Seven of the eight mirrors 60-67 have been removed. Only the sheet or plate 13 of one mirror element 10, 10' remains. Only one mirror element 10, 10' is completely present or arranged in the mirror device 5.

[0065] The mirror device 5 has a support surface 6 for each of the mirrors 60-67 or their mirror rear surface 12. When the mirror 60-67 or the mirror element 10, 10' is installed in the mirror device 5, the largest part of the mirror rear surface 12 rests on a support surface 6. The support surface 6 runs parallel to the mirror rear surface 12.

[0066] The support surfaces 6 are each arranged at an angle of 45° to the central axis 24. Furthermore, with eight mirrors 60-67, the support surfaces 6 are at an angle of 45° (360° / 8) to each other. With more mirrors, the angle is correspondingly smaller, and with fewer mirrors, the angle is correspondingly larger.

[0067] Each of the mirrors 60-67 has a trapezoidal shape when viewed from above.

[0068] Each of the support surfaces 6 has, at its end facing away from the central axis 24, a stop recess 50 in which a stop 18 can be arranged. When the mirror element 10, 10' is installed in the mirror device 5, the stop 18 rests against a first end of the plate 13, wherein the first end of the plate 13 is at a greater distance from the central axis 24 than the second end of the plate 13 opposite the first end. The second end of the plate 13 projects into the cable receiving opening 30.

[0069] The stop 18 prevents a movement of the mirror element 10, 10' away from the central axis 24. When the stop 18 is in the locked state, the stop 18 prevents a displacement of the mirror element 10, 10' in a direction along the longitudinal direction of the plate 13 or the sheet (the longitudinal direction runs along the greatest extent of the plate 13 or the sheet) or parallel to the support surface 6. In particular, displacements due to vibrations are prevented.

[0070] When unlocked, the stops can be moved parallel to the mirror element 10, 10', i.e., the stops can be moved in a direction parallel to the support surface 6. After inserting the mirror elements 10, 10', the stops are pushed toward the mirror elements 10, 10' until they touch or make contact with the end of the plate 13 or the sheet metal of the respective mirror element 10, 10' facing away from the central axis 24. The stops are then locked or each fixed in position by a screw or similar. Now, the mirror elements 10, 10' can no longer be moved parallel to the support surface 6 away from the central axis 24.

[0071] The support surfaces 6 each have a recess 8, 8'. The recess 8, 8' each extends away from the central axis 24. The recess 8, 8' is formed centrally in the support surface 6. The recess 8, 8' is designed to receive the plate 13 or the sheet metal of the respective mirror element 10, 10'. Magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴ for holding the respective mirror element 10, 10' on the support surface 6 are arranged in recesses in the recess 8, 8'. Each recess 8, 8' has two spaced-apart recesses, in each of which a magnet 9, 9', 9", 9‴ is arranged.

[0072] The magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴ can each be a permanent magnet, such as a neodymium magnet, and / or an electromagnet.

[0073] In Fig. 5 eight mirror elements 10, 10' are arranged such that the centers of the mirror elements 10, 10' are respectively arranged at the clockwise positions 12 o'clock, 1:30 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 4:30 o'clock, 6 o'clock, 7:30 o'clock, 9 o'clock and 10:30 o'clock.

[0074] In Fig. 5 The lower mirror element 10, 10' (located at 6 o'clock) with mirrors 60-67 is inserted into the mirror device 5 or arranged in the mirror device 5. At the next support surface 6 in a clockwise direction next to the inserted mirror element 10, 10' (located at 7:30 o'clock), only the sheet or plate 13 of the mirror element 10, 10' is inserted into the mirror device 5. This is for illustration purposes only. The sheet or plate 13 is usually firmly connected to the mirror 60-67 by means of an adhesive bond. In the remaining six areas or support surfaces 6 of the mirror device 5, there is no mirror and no plate 13 or no sheet. At the next support surface 6 in the clockwise direction ("at 9 o'clock"), two magnets 9, 9' are arranged in the recesses of the recess 8'; in the remaining areas, the magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴ are covered by the mirror element 10, 10' or the plate 13 or are not inserted.

[0075] Each of the mirrors 60-67, when the respective mirror element 10, 10' is inserted in the mirror device 5, rests with two obliquely extending longitudinal sides or legs 17, 17' of the trapezoidal shape of the mirror 60-67 on a respective lateral mirror boundary 7, 7'. This is Fig. 5 clearly visible. Between each support surface 6, two mirror boundaries 7, 7' are arranged. The mirror boundary 7, 7' is in each case a surface that protrudes perpendicular to the support surface 6 from the edge of the support surface 6. Between two immediately adjacent support surfaces 6, the mirror boundaries 7, 7' form a prismatic shape, since two immediately adjacent support surfaces 6 are at an angle to one another or extend at an angle to one another. Thus, there are two mirror boundaries 7, 7' between each two mirrors 60-67. Each support surface 6 is thus laterally bounded by two mirror boundaries 7, 7'.

[0076] The mirror boundaries 7, 7' prevent movement of the mirrors 60-67 in a first spatial direction or opposite to a first spatial direction that runs perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the sheet or plate 13 (the longitudinal direction extends along the greatest extent of the sheet or plate 13) and parallel to the support surface 6. The mirror boundaries 7, 7' thus ensure alignment of the mirrors 60-67 along a first spatial dimension that runs in a different direction for each mirror 60-67.

[0077] Due to the conical shape of the arrangement of the mirror elements 10, 10' or the mirrors 60-67, the mirrors 60-67 can only be moved up to a certain point on the support surface 6 in the direction of the central axis 24. When the mirrors 60-67 abut the mirror limits 7, 7' with their legs 17, 17', the mirror 60-67 is in the correct position relative to the other mirrors 60-67 or to the central axis 24. The stops are then moved to the side of the respective mirror 60-67 facing away from the central axis 24 and locked.

[0078] The support surface 6 aligns the mirrors 60-67 in a position in a second spatial direction relative to the other mirrors 60-67 or relative to the central axis 24. The second spatial direction is perpendicular to the first spatial direction. The first spatial direction is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the sheet or plate 13 (the longitudinal direction extends along the largest dimension of the sheet or plate 13) and parallel to the support surface 6. The support surface 6 allows the mirror 60-67 to Fig. 5 cannot be moved into the image plane, since the mirror 60-67 rests with its rear surface 12 on the support surface 6.

[0079] When the plate 13 or the sheet metal is received in the recess 8, 8', the mirror element 10, 10' is fastened to the mirror device 5 by the magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴ and is fixed in three spatial directions that are essentially perpendicular to one another or is aligned in a predetermined position relative to the central axis 24 by the mirror boundaries 7, 7', the support surface 6 and the stop 18.

[0080] The magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴ magnetically attract the sheet or plate 13 of the respective mirror element 10, 10'.

[0081] When the plate 13 or the metal sheet is received in the recess 8, 8' and the mirror rear surface 12 rests largely on the support surface 6, the mirror element 10, 10' does not touch the magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴. The magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴ each have a distance of, for example, approximately 0.1 mm from the respective metal sheet or plate 13.

[0082] The plates 13, together with the mirrors 60-67, each protrude slightly into the cable receiving opening 30, as shown in Fig. 5 for the lower mirror 60-67.

[0083] Fig. 6 shows a perspective view of a mirror element 10, 10' of the inspection device 1 from Fig. 1 or Fig. 2 .

[0084] The mirrors 60-67 are each connected to the plates 13 or metal sheets by means of one or more adhesive joints or adhesive. Each mirror 60-67 is glued to exactly one plate 13 or metal sheet.

[0085] Each plate 13 or each sheet has one or more adhesive recesses 14. The adhesive recesses 14 of the plate 13 or sheet are designed to receive adhesive for establishing the adhesive connection between the plate 13 or sheet and the mirror 60-67. Fig. 6 The plate 13 or the sheet metal has three adhesive recesses 14 with a circular cross-section. The two outer adhesive recesses 14 are each equally spaced from the ends of the plate 13 or the sheet metal. The middle adhesive recess 14 is formed in the middle between the two outer adhesive recesses 14.

[0086] The adhesive recesses 14 extend through the entire thickness of the sheet or plate 13, creating a cylindrical hole. The hole runs parallel to the thickness of the sheet or plate 13.

[0087] Adhesive is introduced into the adhesive recesses 14. The contact area between the adhesive and the mirror 60-67 corresponds in each case to the area of the diameter of the adhesive recess 14, wherein the diameter runs perpendicular to the surface of the mirror 60-67. Thus, adhesive is only present on the part of the mirror rear surface 12 that is visible through the hole or the adhesive recess 14 through the sheet or plate 13. The adhesive thus essentially has the shape of a straight / vertical circular cylinder, wherein the top side of the vertical circular cylinder (i.e., the circular side of the vertical circular cylinder facing the mirror rear surface 12) is the contact area between the adhesive and the mirror rear surface 12. The mirror element 10 in Fig. 6 points with its back or mirror back surface 12 upwards. This means that the mirroring side or the reflecting side of the mirror 60-67 in Fig. 6 is not visible. The mirror back surface 12 is thus bonded to the sheet metal or plate 13 via only three small contact surfaces.

[0088] The sheet metal or plate 13 can have a chamfer at the end of the adhesive recess 14 facing away from the mirror 60-67. This additionally secures the cured adhesive in the sheet metal or plate 13 in a form-fitting manner, as is known under the term epoxy rivet, among other things, for attaching the rearview mirror to the windshield of a motor vehicle. Consequently, the bond between the adhesive and the plate 13 is improved, and thus also the adhesive bond between the plate 13 and the mirror 60-67.

[0089] Due to the small connection / contact area or adhesive surface between mirror 60-67 and plate 13, no mechanical stresses occur in mirror 60-67, even when the size of the sheet or plate 13 and / or mirror 60-67 changes due to temperature differences. Outside of the connection / contact area or the adhesive surface(s), mirror 60-67 and plate 13 or the sheet are not firmly connected to one another.

[0090] The respective sheet or plate 13 is flush with one of its ends with the second base side 16 or the shortest of the two parallel sides of the mirror 60-67. The other end of the sheet is spaced from the base 15 or the longest of the two parallel sides of the mirror 60-67.

[0091] For cleaning, the mirror device 5 is removed from the inspection device 1. The stops are released or removed from the mirrors 60-67. The mirror elements 10, 10' or mirrors 60-67 can now be held at the base 15 and the second base side 16, and the mirror elements 10, 10' can be removed from the mirror device 5. This releases the magnetic connection between the sheet / plate 13 and the magnet(s) 9, 9', 9", 9‴.

[0092] The mirror elements 10, 10' can be magnetically held to another magnetic holder. On the magnetic holder, the mirror elements 10, 10' can then be cleaned or freed of dirt using cleaning agents (e.g., liquid and cloth) and / or a polymer solution for peeling off. Using the polymer solution, the dirt is absorbed and, after curing, can be peeled off as a film (possibly with the aid of a carrier cloth).

[0093] Other ways of cleaning the mirrors 60-67 are also conceivable.

[0094] After cleaning, the mirror elements 10, 10' are reinserted into the mirror device 5. The mirror elements 10, 10' are aligned by the mirror boundaries 7, 7' and the support surface 6. The mirrors 60-67 are each placed with their mirror rear surface 12 on the support surface 6, whereby the respective sheet or plate 13 is inserted into the respective recess. At the latest when the mirrors 60-67 each rest with their rear surface 12 on the support surface 6, the sheet metal or plate 13 of the respective mirror element 10, 10' is attracted by the magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴. There is now a magnetic force of attraction between the magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴ and the mirror elements 10, 10', which force must be overcome in order to release the mirrors 60-67 from the support surface 6 or the mirror elements 10, 10' from the mirror device 5. The magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴ cause the mirror elements 10, 10' in the upper half orin the upper part of the mirror device 5 (ie mirror elements 10, 10', in which the mirrors 60-67 are located below the support surface 6) not by gravity but are held by the magnets 9, 9', 9", 9‴. The legs 17, 17' of the trapezoidal mirrors 60-67 are pushed towards the mirror limits 7, 7' until the legs 17, 17' contact or touch the mirror limits 7, 7'. Then the stops are brought to the base 15 of the mirror 60-67 and fixed or locked. The screws of the stops are preferably secured against loss with an O-ring.

[0095] Without further adjustment, the mirrors 60-67 are now correctly and precisely positioned and aligned in the mirror device 5. The mirror device 5 can now be inserted into the inspection device 1. The mirror device 5 can be precisely aligned in the inspection device 1 using alignment elements.

[0096] In a similar way, damaged mirrors 60-67 or mirror elements 10, 10' can be exchanged or replaced.

[0097] Fig. 7 shows a with the checking device 1 from Fig. 1 captured image of the cable tip 23. In Fig. 7 It is clearly visible how the eight mirrors 60-67 of the mirror arrangement provide / result in different views of the cable tip 23 or the cable 40, or views from different angles. In the reflection of the cable tip 23 of the right mirror 64 ("at 3 o'clock") and the left mirror 60 ("at 9 o'clock"), it is particularly clear that one of the strands of the cable 40 or the cable tip 23 is cut too short. This is more difficult to detect or determine in the other reflections of the other mirrors 61-63, 65-67.

[0098] This unevenness of the strands can be detected by the evaluation software and the cable 40 can be marked as defective and / or directly sorted out as rejects.

[0099] Further errors that can be technically easily detected or checked by the checking device 1 are, among others, that a strand of the cable 40 has been pulled out, that a strand of the cable 40 has been spread out, that the cut made to strip the cable 40 has resulted in a non-straight stripping edge, that the strands of the cable 40 have been cut off at an angle, that a strand of the cable 40 has not been crimped with a crimp contact, whether strands in a control hole of the cable 40 run parallel to one another, whether a contact element, e.g. a crimp element that has been connected to the cable 40, runs completely along the central axis 24 or not (or is bent).
