Description

[0001] The invention relates to a floor cleaning device with an elongated support element to which the end of a handle that can be gripped with both hands is attached and which has two grooves parallel to each other and extending in the longitudinal direction of the support element, wherein a fastening section of a first cleaning element is inserted and fixed into one of the grooves and wherein a fastening section of a second cleaning element is inserted and fixed into the other groove and wherein the first cleaning element and the second cleaning element can each be brought into contact with a floor to be cleaned individually and successively by rotating the floor cleaning device 180 degrees about the longitudinal direction of the handle.

[0002] From DE 10 2011 119 132 A1, a hand-operated floor cleaning device, particularly for outdoor use in snow removal, is known. The floor cleaning device has a receptacle for a handle, which is arranged longitudinally and transversely centrally and is associated with a profile that acts as a retaining bracket. An elastic wiper blade is arranged on the retaining bracket, which projects beyond the bracket with two cleaning lips. In order to achieve good adaptation to uneven ground and simultaneously enable the transport of larger and heavier contaminants, the cleaning lips are arranged in a V-shape relative to each other and project beyond the retaining bracket in different widths with respect to its longitudinal center axis.

[0003] US patent 2016 0095492 A1 discloses a scraper with a handle and a single scraper blade. Above the scraper blade is a deflector bent at a 90-degree angle in the sliding direction, which prevents the pushed debris from flowing over the scraper blade.

[0004] From US patent 2007 / 0187964 A1, a snow removal device is known, intended in particular for the manual removal of freshly fallen snow around the house or business. This device comprises a hard, concave plastic blade, the distal tips of which are slightly curled. The upper 3 inches of the plastic blade are encased in a tapered cap made of cross-linked, physically blown, closed-cell polyethylene foam with a density of 2 pounds per cubic foot. The snow removal device has an articulated, pivoting two-part handle comprising a handle shaft and a handle end.

[0005] US Patent 7,347,468 B1 discloses a shovel with a brush and a squeegee attached to its free edge. The shovel is not suitable for pushing material.

[0006] A snowplow with cutting edges is known from US patent 2,785,483. The snowplow is suitable exclusively for snow removal.

[0007] German patent DE 20 2008 003 824 U1 discloses a snow shovel with two cutting edges. To facilitate snow removal, the snow shovel is equipped with wheels. The snow shovel is suitable exclusively for snow removal.

[0008] A puller is known from US patent 2018 / 0070790 A1. The puller comprises a U-shaped foam blade holder and a rubber blade, which are attached to a main body. The foam blade holder includes a number of pins that extend through coaxial openings in the main body and in the rubber blade, and onto which wing nuts can be screwed at the free end. A foam blade, bent 180 degrees along its longitudinal axis, is held within the foam blade holder.

[0009] It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a floor cleaning device that is particularly versatile and adaptable to different cleaning tasks.

[0010] The task is solved by a floor cleaning device characterized by the fact that the grooves are identical in design.

[0011] The floor cleaning device according to the invention has the particular advantage that it can be used for a wide variety of cleaning applications. In particular, the floor cleaning device, as will be explained in detail below, can have two grooves parallel to each other and extending in the longitudinal direction of the support element, wherein, for example, a scraper blade can be attached in one of the grooves, which can be used, for example, for snow removal, while a brush can be attached in the other groove, so that the floor cleaning device can also be used as a broom in addition to its scraper function.

[0012] A particularly advantageous feature is the ability to replace the cleaning elements, especially without tools, depending on the application. For example, a first squeegee blade can be attached to one of the grooves as a primary cleaning element. This blade, with its width, elasticity, and material, could be designed for snow removal, while a second cleaning element, designed as a softer squeegee blade, is inserted and secured in the other groove. This second squeegee blade is designed to push liquids across a smooth floor, particularly a tiled floor, thus drying the surface. In such a design, the first squeegee blade could be made of soft PVC, while the second squeegee blade could be made of soft rubber or foam rubber.

[0013] In general, the first cleaning element can be designed, for example, as a first scraper blade. It can be particularly advantageous for the first scraper blade to be flexible. With such a blade, it is possible, for example, to push snow very quietly and effectively, especially without the risk of the blade getting stuck on uneven ground. For example, it is also possible to remove coarse dirt or mud using such a blade. The first scraper blade can be made of a plastic, especially soft PVC or rubber.

[0014] In another design, the first sliding blade is rigid. In particular, the first sliding blade can be designed as a scraper, a scraper, or an ice scraper. Using such a sliding blade, it is possible, for example, to loosen frozen ice from the ground. The rigid sliding blade can be made of a metal or a metal alloy, especially steel, stainless steel, or galvanized sheet metal.

[0015] In an advantageous embodiment, the first slide blade has a cleaning lip adjoining the fastening section, which is arranged outside the groove.

[0016] In particular, the cleaning lip can be more than 5 cm, or especially more than 7 cm or more than 10 cm wide. Such a width is particularly advantageous with a flexible slide blade to ensure good adaptability of the free edge of the slide blade to uneven floor surfaces. It should be clarified that the width of the cleaning lip refers to the distance from the mounting section to the free edge.

[0017] The first slide valve leaf can be flat. Alternatively or additionally, the first slide valve leaf can also be plate-shaped. In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the first slide valve leaf is rectangular.

[0018] As mentioned above, the second cleaning element can also be designed as a sliding blade.

[0019] The second slide blade can also be designed to be flexible, for example.

[0020] In particular, it may be advantageous to provide that the second slide blade is made of a plastic, especially soft PVC or rubber, or that the second slide blade has a plastic, especially soft PVC or rubber.

[0021] Alternatively, the second sliding blade can be rigid. In particular, the second sliding blade can be designed in a rigid form as a scraper, a scraper, or an ice scraper. To create a rigid second sliding blade, it can be made of a metal or a metal alloy, especially steel, stainless steel, or galvanized sheet metal.

[0022] The second sliding blade may also have a cleaning lip adjoining the mounting section, positioned outside the groove, and wider than 5 cm, 7 cm, or 10 cm. It should be clarified that the width of the cleaning lip refers to the distance from the mounting section to the free edge.

[0023] Furthermore, the second slide blade can also be flat and / or plate-shaped and / or rectangular.

[0024] For example, the first and second scraper blades can be identical. This design is particularly advantageous for continuous use in a specific application for which both identical scraper blades are designed. For instance, such a floor cleaning device could have two scraper blades made of soft PVC for pushing snow. This design has the particular advantage that the device can continue to be used immediately even if one scraper blade is worn. To do this, the floor cleaning device can be rotated 180° around the longitudinal axis of the handle to bring the second, still-intact scraper blade into contact with the ground.

[0025] In a particularly advantageous design, the first and second scraper blades differ. In particular, it can be advantageously provided that the first and second scraper blades differ at least in that they are made of materials with different degrees of hardness, elasticity, and / or flexibility. In this way, it is possible, for example, to first roughly pre-clean a muddy tiled floor, such as in a stable, using the harder, flexible scraper blade, and then, for example after rinsing the floor with a hose, to dry the floor using the softer scraper blade, which could, for example, be made of soft rubber.

[0026] In a particularly advantageous design, the second cleaning element is designed as a brush. This design has the distinct advantage that the floor cleaning device can also be used as a broom. For example, it is possible to first roughly push away snow using the flexible scraper blade located in the first groove, and then sweep the previously cleared area with the brush to remove any remaining snow.

[0027] Alternatively, it is of course possible to attach a brush to each of the two grooves. The two brushes can be identical in design. However, it is also possible for the two brushes to be different. For example, the first groove could contain a brush with stiff bristles, while the second groove could contain a brush with soft bristles. Alternatively or additionally, the brushes could also differ in bristle length and / or bristle material.

[0028] In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the brush has a base body that bears bristles on one side and, on the other side, has a mounting section that can be inserted into the groove. The mounting section can have several transverse bores arranged so that, after the mounting section is inserted into the groove of the support element, they align with openings through the walls of the groove, allowing a fixing bolt to be inserted through these openings to secure the mounting section. This will be explained in more detail below. Similarly, a sliding blade to be mounted in the groove can have openings for a fixing bolt to secure it within the groove.

[0029] A particularly advantageous embodiment of the floor cleaning device according to the invention is one in which the first cleaning element and / or the second cleaning element can be detached from the carrier element, especially without damage and / or without tools. Detaching a cleaning element from its respective groove can be done, for example, when the cleaning element is to be replaced with a different type of cleaning element. For instance, it is possible to replace a rigid sliding blade with a flexible sliding blade. It is also possible, for example, to replace a sliding blade with a brush in this way.

[0030] The handle of the floor cleaning device is preferably designed such that the device can be used with both hands by an upright person, particularly an adult, for floor cleaning. For this purpose, the handle is preferably designed in the style of a broom handle. In particular, it may be advantageous for the handle to have a length of more than 1 m, especially more than 1.50 m.

[0031] The support element can advantageously have a stem receptacle that allows one end of the stem to be secured to the support element. The stem receptacle can advantageously be arranged longitudinally and / or transversely. The stem receptacle can be designed, in particular, as a sleeve that has a receiving space for one end of a stem. The receiving space can be conical to provide a positive fit for a tapered end of a stem. Alternatively, the receiving space can be cylindrical to provide a positive fit for a cylindrical end of a stem.

[0032] Preferably, at least one first fastening means is provided by means of which the fastening section of the first cleaning element is fixed relative to the support element. Similarly, preferably at least one second fastening means is also provided by means of which the fastening section of the second cleaning element is fixed relative to the support element. In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the first fastening means is designed to be removable without damage and / or without tools. Alternatively or additionally, the second fastening means can also be advantageously designed such that it can be removed without damage and / or without tools. Such an embodiment has the distinct advantage that the user can replace the cleaning elements quickly and easily.

[0033] In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the fastening section of the first cleaning element has at least one opening that aligns with openings through the walls defining the groove, allowing a fixing bolt, especially a fixing bolt with a head, to be inserted through each opening. Preferably, a locking element is provided to secure the fixing bolt against unintentional removal. In particular, the fixing bolt and the locking element can be positively connected to each other. In a special embodiment, the locking element is designed as a spring clip that engages in a circumferential retaining groove of the fixing bolt. In an alternative embodiment, the fixing bolt has a thread onto which a nut is screwed from the outside after it has been inserted through the walls defining the groove and through the fastening section.

[0034] In another possible embodiment, the locking element has a receptacle into which the free end of the locking bolt is inserted, wherein at least one radially outwardly directed projection of the locking bolt engages a counter-projection arranged within the receptacle. In this embodiment, for example, a longitudinal groove can be provided inside the receptacle through which the outwardly directed projection can pass during axial insertion. In this embodiment, after assembly, a rotation through a predetermined angle, in particular an angle of, for example, 90°, can occur, whereby the projection is guided in a tangential groove of the receptacle, this tangential groove being bounded on one side by the counter-projection. In this embodiment, release is made possible by a simple rotation of the receptacle relative to the locking bolt in the opposite direction and subsequent pulling apart. The locking bolt can be moved into a release position relative to the locking element by a rotation, for example by a rotation of 90°, which allows for trouble-free separation of the locking bolt from the locking element by axial pulling apart.

[0035] In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the support element is manufactured as a continuous casting or at least incorporates a continuous casting component. Such a design offers the distinct advantage of enabling the mass production of numerous support elements while still achieving exceptionally high stiffness and strength.

[0036] In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the support element, especially in one piece, is manufactured as an injection-molded part, particularly as a plastic injection-molded part. Manufacturing the support element as an ABS injection-molded part is particularly stable yet cost-effective.

[0037] In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the support element has several support ribs that support the stem receptacle of the support element and that themselves support the top and / or wing sections of the support element, which have grooves on their free edges.

[0038] The support element can be made in particular of a metal, especially aluminium, or of a metal alloy, in particular a metal alloy containing aluminium.

[0039] In particular, the support element can be angled or curved. Such a design gives the support element particularly good rigidity. In particular, the support element can advantageously be designed such that the two grooves are oriented in different directions. It can be particularly advantageous that the insertion direction into the first groove and the insertion direction into the second groove have an angle to each other in the range of 90° to 160°.

[0040] The support element can advantageously have a length of more than 50 cm, 60 cm, or 70 cm. A support element with a length of 50 cm is particularly advantageous. A floor cleaning device with a support element of 50 cm is especially suitable for cleaning smaller and / or awkwardly shaped areas. A floor cleaning device with a support element of 70 cm or more is particularly advantageous for cleaning larger areas.

[0041] Preferably, the cleaning element inserted into one of the grooves is the same length as the groove itself. However, it is not impossible to insert and fix a shorter or longer cleaning element in the groove.

[0042] In a particular design, the mounting section of the respective cleaning element is inserted into the groove without any play. This advantageously ensures that the forces occurring during cleaning are predominantly absorbed by the walls of the support element that define the groove, and the mounting element is subjected to minimal stress. However, to facilitate easy insertion and removal, the mounting section can also be inserted into the groove with a small, preferably minimal, amount of play. Preferably, this play is less than 0.1 mm or less than 0.2 mm.

[0043] Preferably, the two grooves of the floor cleaning device according to the invention are identical. In particular, it is advantageous for the grooves to have the same shape and size. Such a design has the particular advantage that the user does not have to ensure that a specific cleaning element is inserted exclusively into a specific groove. In particular, if the fastening sections of all cleaning elements (for example, also the fastening sections of a third, fourth, or fifth cleaning element of a set) are identical, a particularly high degree of flexibility is achieved because it allows the user to fix each of the cleaning elements in one of the grooves and thus adapt the floor cleaning device to its specific cleaning task.

[0044] A floor cleaning set that includes a floor cleaning device according to the invention and several, in particular different, cleaning elements is particularly advantageous. In particular, three, four, or more, in particular different, cleaning elements can be present. With such a floor cleaning set, the different cleaning elements can be attached to the carrier element interchangeably, in particular without tools and / or without damage.

[0045] According to an independent inventive concept, a floor cleaning device of the type mentioned above is particularly advantageous in which – regardless of whether a second groove is present – the support element has a groove extending longitudinally along the fastening element, wherein a fastening section of a cleaning element designed as a brush is inserted and fixed into the groove. Such a floor cleaning device has the very particular advantage that the cleaning element designed as a brush can be exchanged for another cleaning element, for example a sliding plate or a different type of brush, particularly without tools and / or without damage. In this way, it is advantageously achieved that the floor cleaning device can be easily and quickly converted for different cleaning tasks. For example, the floor cleaning device can be used as a broom and – after replacing the brush with a squeegee blade – as a snow shovel. In a particularly advantageous design, an additional groove is provided for the mounting element of a second cleaning element. This additional groove can be aligned parallel to the first. Such a design, in which the support element has an additional groove, largely corresponds to the floor cleaning device described in detail above. In particular, such a floor cleaning device can have one or more of the additional features described above.
