Description

[0001] The invention relates to a method for producing workpiece parts from a plate-shaped workpiece in a processing machine as well as a data processing program for a machine control of a processing machine and a processing machine for producing workpiece parts from a plate-shaped workpiece.

[0002] A processing machine, in particular a laser cutting machine, is known from WO 2015 / 091347 A (disclosing the preamble of claims 1, 7, and 8). This processing machine comprises a workpiece support and a plurality of clamping claws for gripping a plate-shaped workpiece positioned on the workpiece support. Furthermore, a beam source is provided for generating a process beam. The process beam is directed onto the plate-shaped workpiece by means of a processing head in order to cut workpiece parts from the plate-shaped workpiece. A laser beam is preferably used to produce the workpiece parts. In this processing machine, it is provided that the plate-shaped workpiece can be moved on the workpiece support along an X-axis, and the processing head can be moved above the workpiece support along a Y-axis to the workpiece support.

[0003] EP 2 008 736 A1 discloses another processing machine for producing workpiece parts for cutting and / or punching from a plate-shaped workpiece. This processing machine features a different machine concept. The processing head for emitting the process beam is stationary, and the plate-shaped workpiece is moved along the workpiece support in the X and / or Y directions by the clamping device.

[0004] Alternatively, a machine concept is also known in which the plate-shaped workpiece is held stationary on the workpiece support and the machining head can be moved relative to it in an X and Y axis above the workpiece support.

[0005] When machining the plate-shaped workpiece to produce the workpiece parts using a process beam, in particular a laser beam, the heat introduced during the cutting process can lead to warping in the plate-shaped workpiece. This can result in the plate-shaped workpiece waving. This in turn can cause the workpiece part to be cut to suddenly snap upwards or downwards during the cutting process, resulting in a so-called cut break. This means that the workpiece part is not completely separated from the plate-shaped workpiece or the residual skeleton and can no longer be removed from the plate-shaped workpiece. Even without such a cut break, warping in the plate-shaped workpiece can lead to the cut workpiece part not being able to be removed from the plate-shaped workpiece.

[0006] DE 10 2015 217 015 B1 discloses a laser cutting device for producing a sheet metal blank using a laser beam. A sheet metal is fed from a coil to the laser cutting device, where it is drawn stress-free using a stretching device. Subsequently, this stretched sheet metal, to which a tensile stress is applied so that the yield strength of a metal forming the sheet metal is exceeded, is fed to the laser cutting device to cut the sheet metal blank. Thus, a stretched sheet metal is fed to the cutting process. During the cutting process, the sheet metal is held with at most one of the clamping devices, or the clamping connection of the clamping devices is even released during cutting of the sheet metal.

[0007] From JP 2005 319 969 A, a device for assisting the welding of a chassis frame with a set of side rails and a plurality of cross members arranged between the side rails is known. A plurality of side rail clamps are provided, which are provided according to the positions of the side rails in the chassis frame and the shape of the side rails and each of which can hold the set of side rails, and a plurality of cross member clamps, which are provided according to the positions of the plurality of cross members in the chassis frame and the shapes of the plurality of cross members and each of which can hold the plurality of cross members. Pressing means are provided near both ends in the longitudinal direction of the side rail, which are capable of pressing the cross members near both ends of the side rail and / or near the ends in the predetermined direction.

[0008] However, for the dimensionally accurate production of workpiece parts from plate-shaped workpieces, it is necessary that the plate-shaped workpiece is clamped so that rotation of the plate-shaped workpiece in the support plane on a workpiece support of the processing machine is prevented.

[0009] The invention is based on the object of proposing a method for producing workpiece parts from a plate-shaped workpiece as well as a data processing program and a processing machine in order to reduce the tensions generated by heat input into the plate-shaped workpiece.

[0010] This object is achieved by a method for producing workpiece parts from a plate-shaped workpiece according to claim 1, in which a cutting process for machining the plate-shaped workpiece for producing the workpiece parts is interrupted at least once by a stress-relieving step, and in which, during the stress-relieving step, at least one clamping device is released to relieve the stress on the plate-shaped workpiece, and after the stress-relieving of the plate-shaped workpiece and before the continuation of the cutting process, the at least one released clamping device is closed again. This method enables the productivity of the processing machine to be reduced only to a minimal extent, namely by the brief interruption of the cutting process to carry out the at least one stress-relieving step. However, this makes it possible to reduce or eliminate distortion of the plate-shaped workpiece caused by the heat input of the cutting beam, especially a laser beam, which has a particularly negative impact on cutting accuracy and / or process reliability. This also allows for high dimensional accuracy in the production of the workpiece parts. Furthermore, it has been found that cutting breakage can be avoided when cutting workpiece parts, especially larger ones.

[0011] The interruption of the cutting process caused by a relaxation step should be kept as short as possible. The time of a relaxation step depends significantly on the time required to release and close a clamping device. When using pneumatic or hydraulic clamping devices, the minimum time of a relaxation step is limited, for example, by the time required for the respective relief and subsequent application of a certain clamping pressure to the clamping devices. The time for releasing or opening (e.g., falling below a lower clamping pressure threshold) and subsequent complete closing (e.g., reaching a required clamping pressure) of at least one clamping device is less than 5 seconds, preferably less than 3 seconds, in the method according to the invention.

[0012] The number of relaxation steps during the cutting process for machining the plate-shaped workpiece is controlled depending on the number of workpiece parts to be produced from the plate-shaped workpiece, the material thickness of the plate-shaped workpiece, the size of the workpiece parts, and / or the laser power for the process beam. This allows for optimization of the productivity of the processing machine by taking these parameters into account.

[0013] In practice, the number of relaxation steps when cutting out workpiece parts from a plate-shaped workpiece, as well as the timing of each relaxation step during the machining process, can be determined, for example, based on a visual assessment by a machine operator. Heat-induced stresses can deform the workpiece. As soon as the operator perceives a critical deformation (e.g., critical warping) of the plate-shaped workpiece, they can determine that a relaxation step should be carried out promptly, for example, before the next cut is performed. This results in a specific number of relaxation steps when machining the entire plate-shaped workpiece. The number and timing of the relaxation steps can then be saved and pre-programmed for subsequent similar machining processes, so that the operator no longer has to intervene in the process.

[0014] Alternatively, the machining process can also be monitored by appropriate sensors that detect deformations of the workpiece during the cutting process. If the deformation exceeds a predetermined, critical value (e.g., warping of the workpiece by a certain amount), a stress relief step is automatically performed at the next possible time or at another suitable time.

[0015] A critical curvature of the workpiece can locally change the distance between the workpiece and the cutting head to such an extent that the laser beam no longer completely cuts through the workpiece in that area, resulting in a cut failure. A collision between the curved workpiece and the cutting head can also occur.

[0016] Advantageously, the cutting process is interrupted after a workpiece part has been completely cut and before the next cutting step begins. The stress relief step is thus performed between two consecutive cutting steps. This, in turn, allows for high dimensional accuracy of the cut workpiece parts.

[0017] When carrying out the stress-relieving step, it is provided that the plate-shaped workpiece, which is held along a side edge by a plurality of clamping devices, is released one after the other from the outside to the inside in order to relieve the stress on a partial area of the plate-shaped workpiece, with at least two of the plurality of clamping devices remaining closed, which hold the plate-shaped workpiece in place, and then, after the partial area of the plate-shaped workpiece has been relieved, the clamping device is closed again from the inside to the outside. This process is then repeated, starting from the opposite side of the plate-shaped workpiece, to relieve the stress on the other partial area of the plate-shaped workpiece. This allows stress-relieving from each end face of the plate-shaped workpiece. At the same time, the plate-shaped workpiece is always held by at least two clamping devices during the unclamping step. This ensures high dimensional accuracy, as the plate-shaped workpiece cannot shift or twist relative to the clamping devices.

[0018] If the plate-shaped workpiece is held by three clamping devices along a side edge, one outer clamping device is opened and closed to release the plate-shaped workpiece, followed by the opening and closing of the opposite outer clamping device. Thus, the middle clamping device remains permanently in a clamped position, with one of the two outer clamping devices also alternately holding the workpiece in place.

[0019] If the plate-shaped workpiece is held along a side edge by four or more clamping devices, to release the plate-shaped workpiece, the outer clamping device on one half of the plate-shaped workpiece is first opened, followed by at least one adjacent inner clamping device, and then closed again in the reverse order, while the two other clamping devices or the clamping devices on the other half of the plate-shaped workpiece remain closed. This process is then repeated on the opposite half of the workpiece. This controls the opening of the clamping devices from the outside in and the closing of the clamping devices from the inside out. Optimum relaxation is achieved.

[0020] For example, the outer clamping devices can each be opened for approximately 2.5 seconds. While the respective outer clamping device is open, the respective inner clamping device can be opened for approximately 1 second. From the beginning of the opening of the first clamping device to the complete closure (e.g., upon reaching a predetermined clamping pressure) of the second outer clamping device, such a release process with four clamping devices can take approximately 6 seconds.

[0021] The number of relaxation steps can be controlled depending on the material thickness. Advantageously, the number of relaxation steps is greater when machining a plate-shaped workpiece of 4 mm or less than when the plate material is thicker than 4 mm. With a greater plate material thickness, less deformation occurs when heat is applied. This allows the number of relaxation steps to be reduced.

[0022] Furthermore, it is preferably provided that for workpiece parts which have an edge length of greater than 500 mm and / or have an elongated shape in which the ratio of the edge lengths of the enclosing rectangle to one another is greater than 2:1, a stress relief step is carried out before the cutting step for producing the workpiece part. Alternatively or additionally, a stress relief step can also be carried out after the cutting step for producing the workpiece part. Before cutting an elongated workpiece, it is advantageous to relieve any stress in the workpiece, since deformation of the workpiece has a particularly negative effect when cutting elongated workpiece parts. The extended processing time for producing such elongated workpiece parts also results in increased heat input, which can lead to stress that must be relieved by a stress relief step.

[0023] A further advantageous embodiment of the method provides that the workpiece parts to be produced from the plate-shaped workpiece are nested in rows and columns and that in the cutting process of workpiece parts that form an adjacent row to the clamping devices, at least one relaxation step is triggered after the final cutting of at least two workpiece parts.

[0024] A further preferred embodiment of the method provides that, when the plate-shaped workpiece is fixed by the clamping device along a side edge, the cutting process of workpiece parts located in a half of the plate-shaped workpiece facing away from the clamping devices, preferably a third of the plate-shaped workpiece facing away from it, is carried out without a stress-relieving step. It has been found that in these areas remote from the clamping devices, high cutting accuracy and process reliability are possible even without stress-relieving steps, whereas for workpieces located closer to the clamping devices, one or more stress-relieving steps are required.

[0025] The object underlying the invention is further achieved by a data processing program for a machine control system of a processing machine according to claim 7, which controls the machine to carry out the method according to one of the previously described embodiments. This allows the processing of the plate-shaped workpiece to produce multiple workpiece parts to be carried out independently by the processing machine. Additionally or alternatively, after cutting the number of workpiece parts specified in the data processing program, the operator can be prompted to perform the stress relief step. The operator can decide whether the stress relief step should be carried out or whether it is not yet necessary at this point. In addition, a process step can be provided in the data processing program so that the operator can set the number of workpiece parts in the machine control system after which a stress relief step is carried out, in particular when cutting very complex workpiece parts for which the number of stress relief steps provided by the data processing program does not appear to be sufficient.

[0026] The object underlying the invention is further achieved by a processing machine for producing workpiece parts from a plate-shaped material, in particular a laser cutting machine, according to claim 8, wherein the processing machine has a machine control with a data processing program according to the above description, and in which the workpiece parts can be produced from the plate-shaped workpiece according to one of the method steps described above.

[0027] The invention, as well as further advantageous embodiments and developments thereof, are described and explained in more detail below with reference to the examples shown in the drawings. The features shown in the description and the drawings can be used individually or in any combination according to the invention. They show: Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a processing machine for producing workpiece parts from a plate-shaped workpiece, Figure 2 shows a schematic view of a plate-shaped workpiece with clamping devices for illustrating a relaxation step, Figure 3 shows a schematic view of the plate-shaped workpiece with an alternative number of clamping devices for illustrating a relaxation step, and Figure 4 shows an illustration of an exemplary temporal sequence of a relaxation step according to the Figure 3 shown variant.

[0028] In Figure 1 1 shows, by way of example, a processing machine 11 for producing workpiece parts 14 from a plate-shaped workpiece 12. The production of the workpiece parts 14 from the plate-shaped workpiece 12 is carried out by separating processing, in particular by means of a process beam 13. The processing machine can be designed as a laser processing machine for laser cutting workpiece parts 14 with a laser beam as the process beam 13. For cutting the workpiece parts 14, the process beam 13 can also be a plasma beam.

[0029] During machining, the plate-shaped workpiece 12 rests on a workpiece support 15, which is formed, for example, from two adjacent workpiece support surfaces 16, which are spaced apart to form a gap 18. The workpiece support 15 comprises a support plane E, which corresponds to an XY plane of the Figure 1corresponds to the XYZ coordinate system shown.

[0030] A handling device 19, which includes a drive (not shown in detail), controls several clamping devices 20, 21, 22, 23. The clamping devices 20, 21, 22, 23 allow the plate-shaped workpiece 12 to be displaced on the workpiece support 15 in a direction of movement X and moved to a predetermined processing position. The clamping devices 20, 21, 22, 23 are preferably designed as clamping claws or clamping jaws that engage along a side edge 24 of the plate-shaped workpiece 12. Alternatively, it can also be provided that the workpiece holder 15 itself is designed as a movement device to move or support the movement of the plate-shaped workpiece 12 in the X direction, for example in the form of one or more circulating conveyor belts, as described in DE 10 2011 051 170 A1 by the applicant.

[0031] The gap 18 located between the workpiece support surfaces 16 of the workpiece support 15 extends in the Y direction, preferably over the entire travel path of a processing head 25, which aligns and focuses the process beam 30 onto the plate-shaped workpiece 12. The processing head 25 is guided on a stationary gantry 27 by means of a driven carriage 26 serving as a movement device. The processing head 25 is controlled to be movable in the Y direction above the gap 18. In the example shown, the processing head 25 can also be controlled to be moved in the X direction within the gap 18. For this purpose, the carriage 26 can be controlled to be moved in the X direction using an additional movement device 28, for example in the form of a linear drive. With the aid of the successive movement devices 26, 28, the machining head 25 can be positioned in both the X-direction and the Y-direction in a desired cutting position within the gap 18. If necessary, the machining head 25 can also be displaced along a third movement direction (Z-direction) in order to adjust the distance between a machining nozzle 29 of the machining head 25 and the workpiece surface.

[0032] Arranged within the gap 18 are two support carriages 31, 32, each extending across the width of the gap 18 and being controlled in the Y direction within the gap and movable independently of one another. At the respective end of the support carriages 31, 32 remote from the process beam 13, a covering element 33, 34 is provided, closing the gap 18. The process beam 13 is generated by a beam source 36, in particular a laser source, and is guided to and output from the processing head 25 by means of a beam guide (not shown in detail).

[0033] When machining the plate-shaped workpiece 12 held by the clamping device 20, 21, 22, 23, which rests on the workpiece support 15, the following machining operations are carried out to avoid tensions occurring in the plate-shaped workpiece 12: A first embodiment of the method for producing workpiece parts 14 from the plate-shaped workpiece 12 by separating machining is described with reference to the Figure 2 described in more detail.

[0034] The plate-shaped workpiece 12 has an elongated rectangular geometry. Along a side edge 24, in particular the longer side edge of the plate-shaped workpiece 12, the plate-shaped workpiece 12 is held, for example, by three clamping devices 20, 21, 22. Three clamping devices 20, 21, 22 are used for smaller plate-shaped workpieces 12, for example, up to a side edge 24 length of 2,400 mm. The workpiece parts 14 are nested, for example, in six rows 41 and four columns 42. The workpiece parts 14 are cut clockwise or counterclockwise from a starting point 44, and a cutting gap 45 is created with the process beam 13 until the process beam 13 reaches the starting point 44 again. A microjoint can be formed at the starting point 44, which connects the workpiece part 14 to the plate-shaped workpiece 12.A complete separation of the workpiece 14 from the plate-shaped workpiece 12 can also take place.

[0035] During a cutting process for machining the plate-shaped workpiece 12, one or more workpiece parts 14 are cut with the process beam 13. To reduce the stresses generated by the heat input into the plate-shaped workpiece 12, a stress relief step is performed at least once during the cutting process for machining the workpiece between two cutting steps for cutting workpiece parts. The sequence of such a stress relief step is described below.

[0036] For example, the first or outer clamping device 20 can be opened first so that the partial area of the plate-shaped workpiece 12 assigned to the clamping device 20 can relax. The two other clamping devices 21, 22 remain closed to maintain the position and orientation of the plate-shaped workpiece 12. After the one partial area of the plate-shaped workpiece 12 assigned to the first clamping device 20 has been relaxed, this clamping device 20 is closed. Subsequently, the third or outer clamping device 22 provided on the opposite side of the plate-shaped workpiece 12 is opened. After the partial area of the plate-shaped workpiece 12 assigned to the third clamping device 22 has been relaxed, the clamping device 22 is closed again. The relaxation step with, for example, three clamping devices 20, 21, 22 for the plate-shaped workpiece 12 is then completed.During this relaxation step, the middle clamping device 21 remains permanently closed.

[0037] Such a stress-relieving step can be performed, for example, when one or more workpiece parts 14 in the first and / or second and / or third row 41 have been machined. A stress-relieving step can also be performed when the workpiece parts 14 are manufactured along columns 42. When manufacturing workpiece parts 14 along a column 42, the number of stress-relieving steps increases with increasing proximity of the workpiece parts 14 to the clamping device 20, 21, 22.

[0038] In Figure 3a schematic view of a plate-shaped workpiece 12 is shown, which has a side edge 24 length of, for example, greater than 2,400 mm. In this case, at least four clamping devices 20, 21, 22, 23 engage the side edge 24. With such a size of the plate-shaped workpiece 12, the stress-relieving step takes place, for example, as follows: The clamping devices 20, 21, 22, 23 clamp the plate-shaped workpiece 12 during the production of the at least one workpiece part 14. After the one workpiece part 14 has been completely cut, the stress-relieving step is initiated before the at least one next workpiece part 14 is cut. First, an outermost clamping device, for example the clamping device 23, is opened. Subsequently, the adjacent inner clamping device 22 is opened. As a result, the partial area of the plate-shaped workpiece 12 assigned to the clamping devices 22, 23 can be relieved of stress.Subsequently, the open clamping devices 22, 23 are closed from the inside outward, i.e., first the inner clamping device 22 and then the outer clamping device 23. This, for example, releases the tension on a right half of the plate-shaped workpiece 12. The clamping devices 20, 21 remain closed during the first phase of the previously described release step.

[0039] Subsequently, the same sequence is performed for the left half of the plate-shaped workpiece 12, i.e., first, the clamping device 20 is opened, followed by the clamping device 21, while the clamping devices 22 and 23 remain closed. Subsequently, the clamping device 21 is closed again, and finally, the clamping device 20 is closed again. A second phase of the stress-relieving step, thus completing the entire stress-relieving step, is completed.

[0040] An analogous procedure for carrying out the stress-relieving step also applies when, for example, five, six, or more clamping devices engage a side edge 24 of the plate-shaped workpiece 12. The sequential opening of the clamping devices from the outer edge toward the center occurs to such an extent that at least two clamping devices are always kept closed during the stress-relieving step.

[0041] Figure 4 shows the time sequence of opening (or releasing) and closing of the clamping devices 20, 21, 22, 23 during a relaxation step according to the method described in connection with Figure 3The upper half of the diagram shows the clamping pressure curve (in hPa) for each clamping device 20, 21, 22, 23 over the duration of the relaxation step (time in s). The lower half shows the sensor signals 20b, 21b, 22b, 23b corresponding to the respective pressure curves 20a, 21a, 22a, 23a (the value "0" indicates the closed (target) state and the value "1" the open (target) state of the respective clamping device 20, 21, 22, 23).

[0042] If the clamping pressure is reduced below a predetermined value (5000 hPa in the example shown), the respective clamping device can be considered open or released. Therefore, to release tension in a clamped plate-shaped workpiece, it is not necessarily necessary for all clamping devices 20, 21, 22, and 23 to be completely released (i.e., clamping pressure = 0) (in the example, the clamping pressure of the internal clamping devices 21 and 22 is not reduced to 0).

[0043] The second phase of the relaxation step can be initiated as soon as the clamping pressure of the clamping devices 22, 23 from the first phase is above a minimum clamping pressure (e.g., 5000 hPa). Since the plate-shaped workpiece 12 is not moved during the relaxation step, a lower clamping pressure than during cutting operation is sufficient to securely fix the workpiece 12.

[0044] The relaxation step is completed when the clamping pressure of each of the clamping devices 20, 21, 22, 23 has again reached the setpoint required for operation (in the example 9300 hPa).
