Description

[0001] The invention relates to a chair transport system for transporting a chair.

[0002] Chairs are typically used for a person to sit on. Such chairs are also used particularly at events, where, for example, operators of sound or lighting mixing consoles sit on chairs arranged in front of such consoles. Accordingly, it is advantageous to transport such chairs together with other event equipment. Equipment such as mixing consoles or loudspeakers are typically packaged in suitable transport cases or are already designed as transport cases. Such transport cases usually have rotating casters so that they can be easily pushed and even loaded onto vehicles.

[0003] It has been shown that chairs typically pose a problem during such transports because they are less robust and cannot be stowed as easily as conventional transport cases.

[0009] The document DE 10 2008 000 736 A1 shows a chair with an adjustable backrest.

[0010] It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a proposal which allows a better transport of at least one chair.

[0011] This is achieved according to the invention by a chair transport system according to claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are claimed in the subclaims.

[0012] The invention relates to a chair transport system intended for transporting a chair. A chair transport system comprises a transport case and a chair. The transport case has a receiving space defined by side walls and a head plate. The chair has a frame, each of whose frame arms is provided with at least one rotatably mounted caster. The frame supports at least one seat. In a transport position, the chair is largely submerged in the receiving space and is connected directly or indirectly to the transport case by a connecting device. The system is supported on the floor via the chair's casters.

[0013] Using such a chair transport system, a chair can be transported much more easily when transporting other equipment for events such as concerts or trade fairs. The transport case is typically designed with a simple, cuboid-shaped exterior, so that it can be transported like other transport cases for equipment such as mixing consoles or stage lighting. The chair's casters allow the transport case to be easily moved across a floor, just like other transport cases, and can thus be integrated into the normal workflow for stowing and unloading such transport cases. Damage to the chair during transport is ruled out because it is protected by the transport case.

[0014] A transport case is, in particular, a sturdy device used to enclose another object. Typically, the transport case is enclosed by the aforementioned side walls, which securely seal the case on at least five or even six sides. It is typically unproblematic if such a transport case collides with another transport case or another device, such as the edge of a truck's loading area, because the side walls are designed to withstand such stresses. The same applies to the aforementioned top plate.

[0015] The frame arms can be considered part of the frame, with a rotatably mounted caster typically being provided on each frame arm. For example, five frame arms can be used. However, a different number can also be used. The seat is typically supported by the frame and serves as a seat for a user. In this case, the frame typically transfers the force from the seat to the frame arms and then to the casters.

[0016] According to the invention, the chair transport system comprises a base plate that covers the receiving space in the transport position and has at least one opening through which a portion of the frame protrudes. This allows the base plate to seal the transport case at the bottom while still fully retaining the aforementioned functionality. The same fundamental principles apply to the base plate as already mentioned above for the side walls and the head plate. The opening can, for example, be designed to complement the frame or the frame arms, so that it covers at least the majority of the underside of the transport case while still allowing significant parts of the chair to protrude.

[0017] The invention therefore encompasses two variants. In the first variant, the transport case is used without a base plate, while in the second variant, the transport case is used with a base plate.

[0018] Preferably, at least the rollers protrude downward through the at least one opening. This allows them to be moved along a floor, which makes moving or handling the transport case particularly easy.

[0019] The connecting device can, in particular, comprise at least one connecting arrangement that is constructed in multiple parts. The connecting arrangement can, in particular, consist of at least one tension part and one hook part, wherein the tension or hook part is arranged on the side wall and the hook or tension part is arranged on the base plate, the frame, or the chair. In other words, a hook part or a tension part can, in particular, be arranged on the chair, and the complementary part can be attached to at least one of the side walls. This allows the chair to be reliably held in the transport case.

[0020] In particular, several such connecting devices can be used. This can further increase stability. In particular, this can prevent the chair and transport case from being displaced relative to each other, at least not without loosening the connecting devices.

[0021] The chair has a frame, on each of the frame arms of which at least one rotatably mounted caster is provided. The frame supports at least a seat and a backrest, wherein according to one embodiment the backrest is connected to the seat via a pivot joint and in the transport position the backrest can be folded onto the seat. This makes it possible to move the chair into a transport position in which it fits particularly well into the transport case of the chair transport system mentioned above. This allows the transport case to be made smaller than with other designs. The joint can in particular be designed such that the backrest and seat can be aligned at least substantially parallel to one another when the chair is moved into the transport position.

[0022] The chair has a frame, on each of the frame arms of which at least one rotatably mounted caster is provided. The frame supports at least a seat and a backrest. In particular, a plug-in connection can be provided between the backrest and the seat, and the backrest can be arranged in a storage device of the chair in the transport position. In particular, the chair can have such a storage device. This also enables a particularly compact transport position of the chair, which is particularly suitable for transport in a transport case as this requires very little space. In particular, the storage device can be provided on or under the seat or on the frame or on one of the frame arms. For example, the storage device can be designed as a holder for the backrest, which enables advantageous transport.

[0023] The chair can, in particular, have at least one, preferably two, armrests, which can be arranged laterally next to the seat. These can, in particular, increase seating comfort, but can also provide additional stability during transport. The armrest, seat, backrest, and / or frame can, in particular, have a contact surface that interacts with the transport case in the transport position. In particular, such a contact surface can come into direct contact with the transport case.

[0024] This allows a play-free fit to be achieved, allowing the chair and transport case to be fixed relative to each other.

[0025] In particular, the height of the backrest can be equal to or less than the depth of the seat. This allows the backrest to be folded over the seat in such a way that the seat defines the horizontal dimensions, in other words, the backrest does not protrude beyond it. This simplifies transport and saves space.

[0026] The height of the armrest above the seat can, in particular, be at least equal to the thickness of the backrest. This allows the armrest to form the upper limit of the chair during transport, thus protecting the backrest from damage. For example, the armrest can be positioned directly adjacent to the transport case.

[0027] The transport case preferably has at least one surface of the head plate or the side wall facing the receiving space. This can, in particular, have at least one receptacle that, in the transport position, can interact with a part of the chair, for example, the contact surface or the seat surface, securing the chair in the transport case. This allows for advantageous transport of a chair, in particular achieving the advantages already described. In particular, the chair and transport case can be designed with a fixed relationship to one another, and the transport case can protect the chair as already described.

[0028] The base plate can, in particular, be constructed in multiple parts. This allows for a simpler design of the base plate and easier adaptation to the chair or to parts of the chair that are intended to protrude through an opening in the base plate. However, a one-piece design is also possible.

[0029] The mount can, in particular, be U-shaped and designed to hold the armrest in the transport position. This allows for reliable storage of the armrest and can also be used to define the positional relationship between the chair and the transport case during transport.

[0030] The holder can be designed, in particular, as a recess in the headrest. This allows for particularly easy insertion of an armrest into the recess by slipping the transport case over the chair.

[0031] The invention will now be described with reference to the figures, in which: Fig. 1 : in a side view a chair transport system consisting of chair, transport case and base plate in the not yet assembled state, Fig. 2 : in a side view a chair transport system consisting of chair, transport case and base plate in the assembled state (= transport case), Fig. 3 : a plan view of a floor slab.

[0032] Fig. 1 shows the chair transport system 1 in the still open, unpacked situation (= non-transport case), as it occurs, for example, before packaging and transport or after unpacking the chair. Fig. 1 shows in the middle a chair 5, which is designed to be used with a chair transport system 1 according to the invention. The chair 5 has a frame 50, on which a total of five frame arms 51 are attached, three of which are Fig. 1are visible. A respective rotatable caster 52 is attached to each of the frame arms 51. This allows the chair 5 to be moved on a surface and can also be steered, since the casters 52 can adapt to the respective direction of travel.

[0033] A seat 53 is arranged on the frame 50 and is connected to the frame 50. This allows a person to sit on the chair 5. A backrest 54 is arranged at the rear and is connected to the seat 53 via a pivot joint 55. This allows the backrest 54 to be folded forward, so that a transport position is assumed. Then the backrest 54 and the seat 53 are aligned at least approximately parallel to each other. Two armrests 56 are arranged on the side of the seat 53, of which Fig. 1only one is visible. This allows the arms of a person sitting on the chair 5 to be supported. A contact surface 57 is arranged on top of the armrest 56, which can engage with a transport case in a transport state.

[0034] Below the chair 5 there is a base plate 6 which has a Fig. 1 has an invisible opening through which parts of the chair 5 can pass.

[0035] Above the chair, a transport case 3 with side walls 31 and a head plate 32 is shown. The head plate 32 closes the transport case 3 at the top. The side walls 31 limit it on all four sides. Side walls 31 and head plate 32 enclose the receiving space 30. As can be seen from a summary of the Fig. 1 and 2As shown, the transport case 3 can be placed on the base plate 6. Corresponding arrows are indicated in the figures. This allows the chair 5 to be covered, making it much easier to transport. In particular, the backrest 54 can be folded forward into a transport position beforehand.

[0036] Fig. 3 shows the base plate 6 in a top view. It can be seen that an opening 60 is formed in the base plate 6, through which the frame arms 51 of the chair 50 can pass. Likewise, the casters 52 of the chair can pass downwards, so that they protrude downwards from the base plate 6. The opening 60 has the same shape as the arrangement of the frame arms 51, so that they can pass completely through the opening 60. Alternatively (not shown here), it is possible for the base plate 6 to have a plurality of openings only for the respective casters 52 of the chair.

[0037] Fig. 4 shows an assembled chair transport system 1. A chair 5 according to Fig. 1 in transport position, a base plate 6 and a transport case 3 according to Fig. 2 assembled in such a way that the chair 5 is largely enclosed by the transport case 3, i.e., it protrudes into the receiving space 30, and only the casters 52 protrude downward. Thus, the transport case 3 can protect the chair 5 during transport and, in particular, can also ensure that the chair 5 can be moved and transported together with the transport case 3, just like other transport cases used for events. Damage to the chair 5 during transport is thus effectively prevented.

[0038] As can be further seen in Fig. 4, the backrest 54 rests approximately parallel to the seat surface 53. This reduces the height. The contact surface 57 of the armrest 56 faces upward, and the head plate 32 of the transport case 3 rests directly on the contact surface 57 of the armrest 56. This allows a defined positional relationship between the transport case 3 and the chair 5. Additionally, connecting arrangements (not shown), which may, for example, each comprise a tension part and a hook part, can be formed on the chair 5 and the transport case 3. This allows the transport case 3 and the chair 5 to be connected to each other even more effectively. List of reference symbols
