Description

[0001] The invention relates to a seal according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0002] A seal consists of a seal body and a sealing band. To withstand even extreme weather conditions, it is made of weather-resistant material. Nowadays, this is typically metal or plastic.

[0003] During the sealing process, the sealing strip is folded into a loop, forming a cove. The sealing strip is then passed through two opposing openings on elements that are separated from each other when opened or operated.

[0004] The opposing openings, for example, form part of a closure. Once the loop has been formed in this way, the sealing band is then secured into a loop using the seal body.

[0005] In this document, the term "loop" refers to a fixed eye in a rope and / or strap. The fixed eye neither loosens nor tightens.

[0006] The loop is designed in such a way that it must be irreversibly destroyed to be removed. The loop must be removed, for example, to gain access to the contents of a container or a device, or to change a setting.

[0007] Sealing provides proof that a setting has not been tampered with, a container has been left sealed, or a device has remained unused.

[0008] Because a filling can only be removed by destroying it, at best it contributes to the amount of waste. At worst, it is spontaneously released into the environment. Both are detrimental to environmental protection.

[0009] DE 295 06 104 U1 discloses a seal made of cardboard. The seal body and sealing strip are a single piece. The sealing strip extends from the seal body. The seal body consists of two hinged parts. The two parts can be folded together around a crease running parallel or perpendicular to the sealing strip. Both parts are coated with an adhesive layer. In its operational state, the seal body can be permanently sealed to a portion of the sealing strip spaced apart from it. In this process, the portion of the sealing strip furthest from the seal body is passed between the two parts of the seal body and adhered.

[0010] A promotional seal is known from CH 170 891 A. This seal consists of a seal body and an advertising token. The seal body connects the sealing band sections entering and exiting it. The advertising token surrounds the seal body. The advertising token conceals the sealing band sections entering and exiting the seal body. The advertising token can only be removed after the seal has been detached from the seal body.

[0011] WO 2020 / 157345 A1 discloses a security label comprising a tamper-evident band. The tamper-evident band has interlocking end pieces at both distal ends. The two end pieces are of the male and female type. The tamper-evident band is made of cellulose or a derivative thereof. The end pieces are made of biodegradable plastic.

[0012] US Patent 2004 / 032332 A1 discloses a seal in the form of a cable tie made of biodegradable material. The seal consists of a seal body and a sealing band with male and female fasteners. The sealing band is attached to the seal body on one side. An information carrier can be incorporated into the sealing band or the seal body. The information contained therein can be read without contact.

[0013] US Patent 2,639,479 discloses an adhesive seal. The seal consists of a bottom flap, an top flap, and a securing strip. The bottom flap has an opening for the ends of the securing strip. The top flap is hinged to the bottom flap. The opening can be a slit cut into the edge of the bottom flap or a central hole. A strip, such as parcel or gift ribbon, is inserted through the opening with its free ends. By folding the top flap over the bottom flap, the two portions of the ribbon positioned between the flaps are fixed in place by the adhesive layer located on the side of the bottom flap facing the top flap. The adhesive layer on the side of the bottom flap opposite the top flap then adheres the seal, along with the ribbon, to the package or gift.DE202022100618U discloses a seal comprising two hinged seal sheath halves, a seal band, a seal core and a locking element.

[0014] One objective of the invention is to create a preferably environmentally friendly seal that is easy to handle and offers improved protection against subsequent alteration.

[0015] The problem is solved by the features of the independent claim. Advantageous embodiments are described in the claims, the drawings, and the following description, including those pertaining to the drawings.

[0016] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments illustrated in the drawings. Additional advantages over the prior art, beyond the complete solution of the stated problem, are also listed. The relative sizes of the individual elements in the figures do not always correspond to their actual sizes, as some shapes are simplified and others are enlarged for clarity in relation to other elements. Identical reference numerals are used for identical or equivalently functioning elements of the invention. Furthermore, for the sake of clarity, only reference numerals necessary for describing the respective figure are shown in the individual figures. The illustrated embodiments merely represent examples of how the invention can be implemented and do not constitute an exhaustive limitation. The figures are shown schematically: Fig. 1 - a perspective view of a seal 01 comprising a sealing band 03 and a sealing body 02 with a sealing core 05 and a sealing mantle 06 housing it in their operating state. Fig. 15 - a perspective view of one of the Fig. 1 bis Fig. 7 and in Fig. 8 bis 14 In a further embodiment, deviating from the embodiments shown, a seal 01 comprising a seal band 03 and a seal body 02 with a seal core 05 and a seal mantle 06 housing it, in its initial state with a view to the outer sides of the halves 61, 62 of the seal mantle 06, which are also each comprised by a part 21, 22 of the seal body 02, preferably movably connected to each other by a connecting tab 60 provided, for example, with a fold line. Fig. 16 - the sealing core 05 of the seal 01, designed as a plate 55 with a securing element connected to it along a bend line 51, which is arranged in an area within a circular marking 50 highlighted in the drawing Fig. 15 in a perspective view. The plate, which includes the locking element connected to it along the fold line 51 (also referred to as the crease line), has a semi-oval opening that forms a projection on the locking element. A hole is formed in the locking element. The plate is provided with a slot leading to one edge of the plate. To close the seal 01, the upper free end of the flexible closure element, formed, for example, by a rope and referred to as the seal band 03, is inserted into the hole in the locking element, whereby it is advantageous to minimize the loop in the eyelets of the object to be sealed.Furthermore, the free end of the flexible sealing element formed by a rope, referred to briefly as sealing band 03, wraps itself from below around the projection of the locking part and enters the slot of this element, whereby the rope wraps around the rigid projection and forms a loop. Fig. 17 - the seal jacket 06, for example, which in one half 61 of its two halves 61, 62 is provided with, for example, two perforation lines 41, 42 as predetermined breaking points, in the initial state of the seal 01 Fig. 15 in a perspective view, wherein at least one half 61, 62 of the seal sheath 06 is provided with an adhesive layer 23 or with a part of an adhesive layer 23. Fig. 18 - a security tab of the seal 01 arranged on a carrier substrate, also referred to as security label 07 Fig. 15 in a top view. The security label 07, also known as a closure sticker, can be equipped with an indicator 70 to detect at least one environmental influence, which indicates, for example, thermal stresses, ionizations, radioactivity at its maximum intensity and / or cumulatively over time. Fig. 19 - one for transferring seal 01 from its initial state ( Fig. 15 ) to be removed from an operating state, for example designed as a special film or comprising such a flap protection of the seal 01, also referred to as label protection 08 Fig. 15 in a top view.

[0017] One in Fig. 1 , Fig. 2 , Fig. 3 , Fig. 4 , Fig. 5 , Fig. 6, Fig. 7 The seal 01, shown in whole or in part, comprises a seal body 02 and a flexible closure element in the form of a seal band 03 which can be formed into a loop on the seal body 02 and which can be permanently connected to the seal body 02 at least non-destructively in order to maintain a seal.

[0018] The seal 01 has an initial state and an operating state.

[0019] The seal body 02 comprises a seal core 05 and a seal shell 06 with two seal shell halves 61, 62 movably connected to each other along a connecting tab 60 in an initial state.

[0020] The seal sheath halves 61, 62 can be inseparably sealed together, at least with each other and with two spaced-apart sections of the seal band 03, to bring the unit into operating condition.

[0021] At least one of the seal sheath halves 61, 62 is provided with an adhesive layer for creating the seal formed by a permanently sealable connection between the two seal sheath halves 61, 62 and the remaining seal sheath half 62, 61. The adhesive layer may also serve, or at least contribute, to fixing one or more sections of the seal band 03.

[0022] The adhesive layer can be protected by a special film in its initial state before sealing.

[0023] In the initial state, one seal sheath half 61, 62 of the seal body 02 is provided with the seal core 05. In the operating state, the seal core 05 is housed between the permanently sealed seal sheath halves 61, 62 of the seal body 02.

[0024] The sealing strip 03 is fixed in the operating state along two spaced-apart sections between the sealing shell halves 61, 62 of the sealing body 02. A portion of the sealing strip 03 running outside the sealing body 02 and remaining between sections fixed on both sides is fixed in a loop in the operating state.

[0025] In the initial state ist A first section of the seal band 03 is fixed to the seal body 02. In the initial state, a first section of the seal band 03 is fixed, at least partially, between the seal core 05 and the seal sheath half 61, 62 of the seal body 02 to which it is provided. The seal core 05 has a locking element 50 for fixing at least a second section of the seal band 03.

[0026] The locking element 50 of the seal core 05 has an anchor section 53 which, in its initial state, is pivotably connected to a base section 52 along a core fold line, also referred to as the core fold or core bend line. The fold line 51 can, for example, be formed by a fold. Advantageously, in the operating state, at least the second section of the seal band 03 is wrapped around the anchor section 53 at least once.

[0027] Preferably, the section of the sealing band 03 to be determined for establishing the operating state encircles the anchor part 53 at least partially parallel to the core bend line.

[0028] The seal is characterized by the fact that the anchor part 53 of the securing element 50 is separated on several sides by a remaining seal core part 55 of the seal core. 05is surrounded, of which remaining core part 55 only a part is connected to the anchor part 53 via the bend line 51.

[0029] A remaining portion of the seal core 05 spans a plane within which the anchor portion 53 abuts the remaining portion of the seal core 05 on several sides, or is even wholly or partially surrounded by it. For example, the remaining seal core portion 55 abuts the anchor portion 53 on two or more sides. Advantageously, the remaining seal core portion 55 can form a frame that wholly or partially surrounds the anchor portion 53.

[0030] Preferably, in the initial state at least the remaining core part of the seal 55, preferably alternatively or additionally the base part. 52 connected to a seal sheath half 62, preferably glued.

[0031] The fold line 51 is particularly preferably realized by a half-cut 43. The half-cut 43 can be realized, for example, by either partially cutting through a cardboard sheet, particularly with regard to its thickness, or by gluing two cardboard sheets together, wherein one cardboard sheet is cut through in the area of the half-cut 43 and the remaining cardboard sheet extends continuously over the half-cut 43. Alternatively to a half-cut 43, the fold line 51 can be realized, for example, by a perforation line or a fold, or by a combination thereof.

[0032] The anchor section 53 borders the bend line 51 on one side. The anchor section 53 is separated on its other sides, for example, from the remaining core section 55 by a separation line 56, produced, for example, by punching.

[0033] Towards the bend line 51, the separation line 56 preferably runs in a V-shape, converging direction. This ensures that the sealing band 03, when at least partially encircling the anchor section 53, lies tightly along the bend line 51. The separation line 56 can extend across the bend line 51 on one or both sides, as shown in Fig. 3 depicted.

[0034] Adjacent to the bend line 51, a notch 54 may be provided. Preferably, such a notch 54 is provided along a section around the anchor part 53.

[0035] The crease line 51 can, for example, be formed by a fold.

[0036] The dividing line 56 can be produced by punching. Any notch 54 provided can be produced simultaneously with the dividing line 56 by punching.

[0037] Advantageously, the anchor section 53 of the securing element 50 is connected via the bend line 51 to the remaining seal core section 55 and thus to the entire remaining part of the seal core 05. Preferably, there is no connection between the anchor section 53 and the remaining seal core section 55 on sides that may not be adjacent to the bend line 51. The dividing line 56 runs along at least part of this separation.

[0038] The anchor part 53 is advantageously surrounded in a frame-like manner by the remaining core part of the seal 55.

[0039] The anchor section 53 is preferably connected on one side to the remaining seal core section 55 – preferably the frame – via the fold line 51. On the remaining sides, the connection between the anchor section 53 and the frame is interrupted, for example, by punching. A notch 54 can interrupt the frame's rotation around the anchor section 53.

[0040] At least in the initial state, the remaining core portion 55 of the seal – preferably the frame – is fixed to one half of the seal sheath 62, for example by an adhesive layer. In contrast, the anchor portion 53 remains pivotable out of the area spanned by the frame about the bend line 51 in the initial state.

[0041] The seal body 02 can be provided with predetermined breaking points 04, which, by tearing, indicate an attempt to detach the seal band 03 from the seal body 02, in particular from the locking element 50.

[0042] The predetermined breaking points 04 can be realized by or comprise one or more perforation lines 41, 42 in the seal shell 06. Preferably, such a perforation line 41, 42 extends along the extension of the course of the section of the seal band 03, which is looped around the anchor part of the locking element 50 to establish the operating state, from the loop towards the edge of the seal body 02 and across it, for example, to the middle of the seal body 02, at least through the seal shell 06.

[0043] Advantageously, the perforation lines 41, 42 are arranged symmetrically to the connecting tab 60 on the two seal halves 61, 62. The fold line 51 can also be aligned with these perforation lines 41, 42, at least during operation. A continuous perforation thus runs as a predetermined breaking point 04 along a line through all parts of the seal 01. When the seal 01 is opened, the seal body 02, along with the seal core 05, is torn along this line. This makes opening the seal 01 easy and requires little force, and the damage to the main elements of the construction renders it unusable in the future.

[0044] It is particularly noteworthy that the seal core 05 preferably has a groove 57 in the area of the base section 52. The groove 57 preferably runs parallel to the fold line 51. The groove accommodates a section of the seal band 03 that is already connected to the seal body 02 in the initial state. The seal band 03 is inserted into the groove with its section already connected to the seal body 02 in the initial state. The base section 52 of the seal core 05, with its side provided with the groove 57, faces the seal sheath half 62 and is glued to the seal sheath half 62 with the section of the seal band 03 inserted into the groove 57. In other words, the seal band 03, with its section already connected to the seal body 02 in the initial state and placed in the groove 57, is glued to the seal sheath half 62 when the two parts are glued together. Fig. 2 The right half of the seal sheath 62 and the seal core 05 are clamped and glued directly between the base part 52 of the seal core 05 and the half of the seal sheath 62.

[0045] The remaining core section 55 and the right half of the seal sheath 62 are also bonded together. Only the anchor section 53 remains connected to the seal sheath 06, at least initially, only via the bend line 51, until the seal is transferred to its operational state.

[0046] To bring it into operating condition, the sealing band 03 is preferably looped one and a half times around the anchor part 53 with a second section, which is spaced apart from the first section of the sealing band 03 already fixed to the sealing body 02 in the initial state.

[0047] The second section of the seal band 03 can be fixed to the seal body 02, for example, by the following steps: The anchor section 53 is unfolded around the fold line 51 from a plane defined by the remaining seal core section 55 and the seal sheath half 62 provided with the seal core 05. The unfolded anchor section 53 is then at least partially, preferably at least once, wrapped around the section of the seal band 03 to be fixed to the seal core 05 in order to establish the operational state. Preferably, the wrapping is carried out parallel to the fold line 51. The anchor section 53, at least partially wrapped by the fixed section of the seal band 03, is folded back into the plane defined by the remaining seal core section 55 and the seal sheath half 62 provided with the seal core 05. Finally, the two seal sheath halves 61, 62 are folded together and glued around the connecting tab 60.

[0048] The bonding is preferably carried out by removing a protective film from at least one of the two seal sheath halves 61, 62. Subsequently, the two seal sheath halves 61, 62 are folded together around the connecting tab 60 in accordance with and by placing their surfaces to be bonded to each other by means of the adhesive layer on top of each other, wherein the now unprotected adhesive layer on at least one of the two seal sheath halves 61, 62 faces the other seal sheath half 62, 61.

[0049] The sealing strip 03 is looped directly around the anchor section 53, preferably in one and a half turns. This forms a loop that securely holds the sealing strip 03 to the anchor section 53 when an attempt is made to pull it out of the sealing sheath 06 after it has been closed. This simplifies the manufacture of the seal 01 and the establishment of its operational state.

[0050] The sealing body 02 can be equipped with at least one indicator for detecting at least one environmental influence.

[0051] Such an indicator can, for example, be integrated into a security or safety label 07.

[0052] Whether the contents of a container are intact cannot be proven by a conventional seal if the contents can be altered even without opening the container.

[0053] In other words, the integrity of, for example, a sealed container's contents cannot be proven by a conventional seal if this integrity can only be compromised by environmental influences that do not require opening the container or direct contact with the container's contents.

[0054] The same applies to sealed settings or sealed devices that can be altered or damaged solely by environmental influences.

[0055] To improve environmental compatibility, at least the sealing body 02 and / or the sealing band 03 can be made of a biodegradable material.

[0056] The seal 01 can be used as described below.

[0057] In its initial state, the seal sheath 06 has two halves 61, 62 (seal sheath halves) movably connected to each other by a connecting tab 60.

[0058] In the initial state, one of the halves 61, 62, in the exemplary embodiment in Fig. 2 the right half 62, the core of the seal 05 arranged.

[0059] Between the sealing core 05 and the corresponding half 61, 62, in the exemplary embodiment in Fig. 2 of the right half 62, a first section of the sealing band 03 can be determined.

[0060] At least one of the halves 61, 62 may be provided with an adhesive layer. After the two halves 61, 62 are folded together, the adhesive layer permanently bonds them. The adhesive layer may be covered with a removable protective film until the seal 01 is used.

[0061] On one of the halves 61, 62, in the exemplary embodiment in Fig. 2 The left half 61 can be fitted with, for example, a self-adhesive security label 07. In its initial state, the security label 07 extends laterally beyond the corresponding half 61, 62. The adhesive surface of the security label 07 extending beyond the corresponding half 61, 62 can be protected by a label protector 08, for example, a tear-off film.

[0062] To create a seal, the anchor section 53 is first folded up around the bend line 51.

[0063] The free end of the sealing strip 03 is then passed through the eyes or loops of the object to be sealed. The second section of the sealing strip, which is then passed through the eyes or loops, is advantageously wrapped at least once around the folded-up anchor section 53, passing through a notch 54. The anchor section 53 is then folded back into the plane of the remaining sealing core section 55 surrounding it.

[0064] The loop of the sealing tape 03 thus produced, which is passed through the eyes or eyelets of the object to be sealed, is secured by first peeling off any protective film that may be applied to the adhesive layer. Then the remaining half of the sealing sheath 61, 62, in the exemplary embodiment in Fig. 2 the left half 61, bending the connecting tab 60 onto the seal sheath half 62, 61 provided with the seal core 05, in the exemplary embodiment in Fig. 2 the right half 62, folded.

[0065] The adhesive layer seals the two halves 61, 62 and preferably also the remaining half 61, 62, in the exemplary embodiment in Fig. 2 the left half 61, with the seal core 05 while simultaneously fixing the second section of the seal band 03 in the seal body 02.

[0066] Now the label protection 08 can be removed from the corresponding half 61, 62, in the exemplary embodiment in Fig. 2 The adhesive surface of the security label 07, which extends beyond the left half of 61, can be peeled off.

[0067] The protruding part of the security label 07 is then glued around the edge of the corresponding seal sheath half 61, 62, over which it protrudes, onto the other seal sheath half 62, 61.

[0068] It is important to emphasize that at least the sealing body 02 and / or the sealing band 03 can be made of a biodegradable material.

[0069] In light of increasing environmental awareness and protection efforts, and to prevent the harmful spontaneous release of plastics and metals, commonly used for sealing today, into the environment, the seal 01 with seal body 02 and / or seal band 03 made of biodegradable material aims to minimize harmful environmental impact. Such harmful environmental impact can occur both through the spontaneous release of a discarded seal 01 into the environment and through the proper disposal of a discarded seal. It should be noted that spontaneous release cannot be completely prevented. However, the biodegradable design of the seal makes its release into the environment less harmful.

[0070] Biodegradable materials (BDMs) must degrade within 6-10 weeks in a large-scale composting facility. BDMs are tested according to the DIN standard EN 13432. They do not necessarily have to be made from biological raw materials. Examples include so-called starch blends, for example, those based on corn, or certain polyesters.

[0071] The biodegradable material could be a biodegradable plastic.

[0072] For example, it is a biodegradable and bio-based plastic.

[0073] Preferably, the biodegradable material is a compostable material that occurs naturally.

[0074] Preferably, the biodegradable material consists at least partially of self-compostable material.

[0075] The possibility of home composting ensures that even those Plomben 01 seals which are subjected to non-industrial recycling during their disposal have the least possible harmful impact on the environment.

[0076] Composting, also known as rotting or decomposition, refers to the part of the nutrient cycle. In this part of the nutrient cycle, organic material is broken down by soil organisms under the influence of atmospheric oxygen. In addition to carbon dioxide, water-soluble minerals are released, which act as fertilizers. Some of the intermediate products formed during this decomposition are transformed into humus.

[0077] The biodegradable material could be, for example: a biodegradable plastic, and / or a biodegradable and bio-based plastic, and / or a solid polylactic acid material, and / or cellulose, and / or cellulose esters, and / or celluloid, and / or The biodegradable material can be based on the aforementioned variants, either alternatively or additionally. Alternatively or additionally, the biodegradable material can include the aforementioned variants.

[0078] Advantageously, the seal body 02, which is also referred to below as the base, can be made entirely or partially from a waterproof, cellulose-based material in all described designs.

[0079] Alternatively or additionally, the base or parts of it can be made of waterproof paper or cardboard.

[0080] It is also important to emphasize that the term "seal band 03" encompasses a strand-like element with its greatest extent along the strand. This strand-like element can have any cross-sectional geometry perpendicular to the strand's length. In this context, the term "band" does not restrict the cross-section to a flat or circular geometry. If it had a flat geometry, the band would most accurately be described as a strip. If it had a circular geometry, the band would most accurately be described as a rope, cord, or wire. For the present seal 01, both of the aforementioned cross-sectional geometries of the strand-like element, as well as intermediate geometries, are suitable. The seal band 03 can be flexible, elastic, flexible, or rigid without restricting the fundamental usability of the seal 01.In this document, the term "sealing band" is used to refer to a flexible sealing element of any cross-sectional shape. As a flexible sealing element, the sealing band preferably has a significantly greater extent in a longitudinal direction than in a transverse direction. The term "sealing band" is by no means limited to a specific cross-sectional shape. This can, of course, be flat, as is predominantly the case with a band, but also round, as is common with a rope, cord, or wire. Other cross-sectional shapes are also possible, such as an elliptical profile, a hollow profile, or a flat symmetrical or asymmetrical cross-sectional shape, for example, based on an asymmetrical or symmetrical aerodynamic profile, such as an airfoil.Basically, any cross-sectional shape is suitable that allows for low bending stiffness along the longitudinal extent of the sealing strip, or even a flexible sealing strip, or alternatively or additionally a flexible sealing strip.

[0081] The seal 01 may alternatively or additionally have one or a combination of several features described in the preceding description in connection with the prior art and / or in one or more of the documents mentioned in connection with the prior art and / or in the preceding description of the embodiments shown in the drawings.

[0082] The Plombe 01 can be used, for example, to seal containers or devices, such as on their housing, and is generally known as a customs seal in international trade and goods.

[0083] For example, by affixing the seal 01 to the closure of a container or device, a process known as sealing, it can be determined whether the container or device has been opened without authorization after sealing.
