Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a combination of a fixing system with a feeder sleeve product.Prior Art

[0002] Nowadays, moulds, also known as feeder sleeves, are utilised in casting industry to perform casting process on metals. Said moulds include sand and various chemicals. The feeder sleeves are exothermic feeding auxiliary materials which are produced at various shapes and sizes by a preforming method, wherein the feeder sleeves are produced from a pre-prepared chemical mixture according to the desired exothermal degree.

[0003] With the developing technology, innovations are made for the casting production method, as well. Thanks to the high-pressure automatic moulding lines that are suited to serial production, quality castings are obtained in a quicker way. Consumables which are used at automatic moulding lines should inevitably keep up with this development. Therefore, rendering the use of a feeder at automatic moulding lines practical affects the production rate positively. A mini riser system, both functioning fully as a feeder and being capable of resisting to mechanical effects at the automatic moulding lines, improves the casting production rate and quality. The feeder sleeve having a brittle structure is prevented from being damaged by the loads applied at high-pressure automatic moulding lines, thanks to the mini riser fixers. Said fixers enable to fix the sand at a certain area inside the mould.

[0004] Patent document no. WO2017007433A1 discloses an exemplary mini riser system which comprises mini riser fixers. The feeding system disclosed in said document comprises a feeder sleeve, and a neck piece which functions as a fixer. With the effect of force applied during the moulding process, said neck piece moves at the vertical axis so as to be driven to the cavity provided within the feeder sleeve. However, the patent document no. WO2017007433A1 does not mention about a characteristic of the neck piece that enables it to resist to the applied force. Therefore, the nozzle disclosed in said document does not contribute to decrease the load on the feeder sleeve and to protect the feeder sleeve.

[0005] Another patent document no. EP1728570A1 discloses a feeder structure. Said feeder comprises a feeder body and a feeder lower part that is able to move inside said feeder body. In document D1, in order to prevent said lower part from leaving the feeder body, a stop portion (referenced as 20) and a fuse (referenced as 23) are used. Said stop portion is located on the lower part and fuse is located on the feeder body. When lower part is moved out of the feeder body, said stop portion contacts with the fuse and because of said contact, movement of the lower part is prevented. CN203155947U describes another example of a riser sleeve to which a nozzle is fixed, the nozzle comprising a housing portion on the end side close to the sleeve opening.Brief Description of Invention

[0012] In order to provide a quick and quality casting production at the high-pressure automatic moulding lines utilised for mass production of the castings, it is appropriate to use mini riser systems in certain areas on the mould model. For the moulding process, on the purpose of enhancing the casting production rate and quality, it is important to use a mini riser system which fully functions as a feeder and is able to resist to the mechanical effects on the automatic moulding line. Within this context, with the present invention there is developed a fixing system which provides to fix the brittle feeder sleeve at the mini riser system at a desired position in the mould, and to prevent the feeder sleeve from being damaged by the load to which it is subjected during the moulding process.

[0013] The fixing system (S) according to the present invention, exemplary views of which are illustrated in figure 1-4, is suitable for use with at least one mini riser sleeve (1) an exemplary view of which is illustrated in Figures 1 and 4 and comprising a linear cavity (1a) through which a fluid material can be passed for the feeding process and which is defined by at least one cavity wall (1b), and at least one opening (1c) by which said cavity (1a) communicates with the outer environment, the fixing system (S) comprising at least one nozzle (3) suitable for being placed to the cavity (1a) by passing through said opening (1c), being able to move into said cavity (1a) by the load applied during the moulding process, comprising at least one expansion (3a) at the end that is close to said mini riser sleeve (1), and rubbing on said cavity wall (1b) while moving forward in said cavity (1a) to reduce the load applied to said mini riser sleeve during the moulding process, and, preferably, being made of a metal material; at least one housing (2) positioned at the end of said nozzle (3) which is close to said miniris sleeve (1), and being suitable for receiving, preferably, a damping material. Here, said mini riser sleeve (1) may preferably comprise at least one cover which is positioned around the opening (1c).

[0014] In an exemplary embodiment of the invention, said nozzle (3) is placed inside the cavity (1a) provided at the mini riser sleeve (1). Then, the mini riser sleeve (1) comprising the nozzle (3) is fixed at a determined position within the mould. Said nozzle (3) moves forward inside said cavity (1a), which is provided in the sleeve, by the load applied to the mini riser sleeve (1) during the moulding process. While the nozzle (3) moves forward, by the applied force, along the cavity (1a) inside the mini riser sleeve (1), the expansion (3a) provided at the end of the nozzle (3) which is close to said mini riser sleeve (1) rubs on the cavity wall (1b) inside the mini riser sleeve (1) and prevents the mini riser sleeve (1) from being damaged by damping a part of the load which is applied to the mini riser sleeve (1) during the moulding process. Thanks to said cover, due to the expanding end of the nozzle (3) after said nozzle (3) enters into the cavity (1a) inside the mini riser sleeve (1) during the moulding process, damages are prevented which may occur, at the side of the mini riser sleeve (1) at which said nozzle (3) is located, because of the friction force applied to walls of said cavity.

[0015] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the fixing system (S) comprises at least one gasket positioned on said nozzle (3). Said gasket enables to increase the friction force, thus enabling to damp much more force.

[0016] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, said nozzle (3) is in the form of a hollow cylinder.

[0017] Thanks to the fixing system according to the invention, a system is obtained which, at the foundries in which high-pressure moulding lines are utilised, increases moulding rate and quality of the feeder sleeve by applying it directly on the mould model; eliminates fixing problems arising from the sleeve size; and prevents the feeder sleeve from being damaged, the feeder sleeve having a brittle structure against the mechanical effects which are applied for the moulding process.
