AI Technical Summary
Existing post systems for animal enclosures in agriculture face inefficiencies in corrosion protection, as soil humidity and manure juices can still reach the base of metal posts, leading to accelerated degradation due to electrochemical reactions.
A post system with a monobloc plastic protective sheath that covers the post body, featuring a circular collar, annular seal, and anti-rotation means to prevent rotation, effectively sealing the post from soil and manure juices, and including a tubular pole guide socket for secure installation.
The solution provides comprehensive protection against corrosion and electrolysis, extending the lifespan of metal posts by preventing moisture and acidic substances from reaching the post base, thereby enhancing durability and reducing maintenance needs.
Description
Technical field of the invention
[0001] The present invention relates to a post system provided with a protective sheath, in particular for the creation of fences in the field of agriculture.
[0002] Post systems of this type are used in particular in the field of animal breeding to form barrier supports allowing the creation of enclosures which serve to delimit spaces for the animals. State of the art
[0003] The corresponding penning areas are generally covered with a layer of straw 20 to 40 cm thick, forming a bedding to improve the comfort of the animals.
[0004] However, this litter transforms quite quickly into manure due to its mixture with animal droppings, generating very corrosive manure juices and electrochemical couplings (or battery effect), leading to the accelerated degradation of metal parts in contact with the ground.
[0005] This is why some post systems used for the construction of parking enclosures include a post (usually metal) whose lower part is protected from humidity and corrosion by a plastic sleeve.
[0006] The post systems in question may be removable to allow their removal to facilitate cleaning of the ground surface.
[0007] In this case it is known to embed in the ground a post guide sleeve, the upper end of which is flush with the ground, and which is adapted to receive the base of the post in a removable manner.
[0008] Post systems of this type are known, for example, from documents FR-2 934 294 or FR-3 092 601, in which the protection of the metal post is obtained by fitting the base of an upper sleeve into or onto the upper part of a post guide sleeve implanted in the ground.
[0009] However, the protective devices of such post systems are not optimally effective. Soil moisture or manure juices can still reach the base of the posts through the interlocking lines of the two parts of the protection; and the material constituting the posts can be reached and attacked by this humid and acidic environment, and by electrolysis (for metal posts). Document DE20016365U discloses a post system which includes the characteristics of the preamble of claim 1. Presentation of the invention
[0010] In order to overcome the aforementioned drawback of the state of the art, the present invention provides a post system intended to be installed in a ground, which post system comprises: a post of generally elongated shape, delimited by a lower post end, an upper post end and a post body therebetween, which post body comprises a lower post portion intended to be located below the level of the ground surface, an upper post portion intended to be located above the level of the ground surface, and a post body outer surface, and a protective sleeve which covers a portion of said post body from said lower post end, which protective sleeve comprises a sleeve longitudinal axis and an end provided with an opening forming a sleeve mouth.Said protective sheath is made in one piece from plastic material and comprises: a lower sheath part which covers said lower post part, an upper sheath part which covers a lower section of said upper post part, the post system being characterized by the fact that the protective sheath also comprises a sheath bottom which seals said lower sheath part on the side of said lower post end.
[0011] Such a protective sheath constitutes a sort of waterproof shell which effectively protects the part of the post likely to be attacked by soil humidity, manure juices and by the effect of electrolysis.
[0012] Other non-limiting and advantageous characteristics of the post system according to the invention, taken individually or in all technically possible combinations, are the following: the protective sheath comprises a single-piece circular collar, which extends projecting around the junction zone between the lower part of the sheath and the upper part of the sheath, which circular collar comprises an annular bearing face, which extends perpendicular to said longitudinal axis of the sheath; the post system comprises an annular space between the protective sheath and the external surface of the post body, at said mouth of the sheath; and it further comprises an added annular seal, made of a flexible or semi-rigid material, inserted into said annular space; said annular seal comprises (a) a tubular seal body adapted to be positioned in said annular space between the protective sheath and the external surface of the post body, and (b) an annular upper extension comprising a shoulder intended to bear against an upper end edge of the protective sheath;said lower sleeve portion and a lower section of said upper sleeve portion comprise an inner face in contact with the outer surface of the post body or spaced from the outer surface of the post body by a simple functional clearance, and said upper sleeve portion comprises a flared upper section to form said annular space for receiving the annular seal; the outer surface of the lower sleeve portion comprises projecting ribs which extend parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve;the post is of circular section, and the post system comprises anti-rotation means for preventing rotation of the post relative to the protective sheath, which anti-rotation means comprise a projecting anti-rotation lug provided on said post body, cooperating with a receiving housing provided at the upper end of said lower part of the sheath, which protective sheath further comprises a longitudinal groove provided between said receiving housing and said sheath mouth adapted for the passage of said anti-rotation lug;the post system comprises a post guide sleeve of generally tubular shape, comprising a longitudinal sleeve axis and a sleeve body, an upper sleeve end of which is provided with an opening forming a sleeve mouth, and a lower sleeve end of which comprises a one-piece sleeve bottom which closes said lower sleeve end in a sealed manner, which post guide sleeve is intended to be implanted in said ground, with said sleeve mouth flush with said ground surface, and which post guide sleeve is intended to receive said lower post part covered by said lower sleeve part, the inner section of said post guide sleeve corresponding, apart from the clearance, to the outer section of said lower sleeve part;the outer surface of the socket body comprises projecting ribs, some of which extend parallel to said socket longitudinal axis, and some of which extend perpendicular to said socket longitudinal axis; the post system comprises anti-rotation means for preventing rotation of the protective sleeve relative to the post guide sleeve; said anti-rotation means for preventing rotation of the protective sleeve relative to the post guide sleeve consist of at least one anti-rotation boss provided at the upper end of the lower sleeve portion, adapted to cooperate with a complementary anti-rotation reservation provided at said upper sleeve end; the post system comprises four anti-rotation bosses spaced 90° apart around the periphery of the protective sleeve and / or four anti-rotation reservations spaced 90° apart around the periphery of the post guide sleeve;the or one of said anti-rotation bosses constitutes the housing for the anti-rotation lug of the post.;
[0013] Of course, the various features, variants and embodiments of the invention may be combined with each other in various combinations to the extent that they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. Detailed description of the invention

[0015] It should be noted that, in these figures, the structural and / or functional elements common to the different variants may have the same references.
[0016] THE figures 1 to 14 detail a possible embodiment of a post system 1 according to the invention, intended to be installed in a ground S.
[0017] As can be seen on the figures 1 to 4;, the post system 1 comprises - a post 2 of generally elongated shape, - a protective sheath 3 (shown in isolation on the figures 5 to 8 ) which covers a lower part of the post 2, a post guide sleeve 4 (shown in isolation on the figures 12 to 14 ) implanted in the ground S, intended to receive the base of the post 2 covered with its protective sheath 3, and an annular joint 5 (shown in isolation on the figures 9 to 11 ) intended to create a seal between the upper part of the protective sheath 3 and the post 2.
[0018] Post 2 is here made of metal, for example galvanized steel or painted steel. Alternatively, it can be made of wood.
[0019] The post 2 has a generally elongated tubular shape, here of constant circular section, and comprises a longitudinal post axis L1; it is delimited by a lower post end 21, an upper post end 22 and a post body 23 between the two.
[0020] The post body 23 comprises an external post body surface 231, here of cylindrical shape.
[0021] It also includes: a lower post portion 232, of length A1, which extends from the lower post end 21 and which is intended to be located below the level of the surface Su of the ground S, once the post system 1 is implanted in the ground S, and an upper post portion 233, of length A2, which extends above the lower post portion 232 and which is intended to be located above the level of the surface Su of the ground S, once the post system 1 is implanted in the ground S.
[0022] The upper part of post 233 comprises a lower section 2331, of length A3, located in the extension of the lower part of post 232. Once the post system 1 is implanted in the ground, this lower section 2331 of the post 2 is intended to extend, from the surface Su of the ground S, over a height slightly greater than the thickness of the bedding layer.
[0023] The length of post 2 (A1+A2) can be between 1.5m and 2.6m; and its external diameter D1 can be between 60mm and 180mm.
[0024] The length A1 of the lower part of the post 232 (intended to be implanted in the ground) can be of the order of 400mm to 500mm. And the length A3 of the lower section 2331 intended to extend above the surface Su of the ground S (with respect to the thickness of the bedding) can be of the order of 300mm to 500mm.
[0025] As can be seen on the figure 1 and on the figure 4, the lower post portion 232 includes an anti-rotation lug 234 which projects from the outer surface of the post body 231, the function of which is explained later in the description.
[0026] The anti-rotation lug 234 consists of a pin attached and fixed to the post body 23 by any suitable means. For example, for a metal post 2, the anti-rotation lug 234 may consist of a metal pin attached, fixed by welding.
[0027] Preferably, this anti-rotation lug 234 is positioned in an upper zone of the lower part of the post 232, that is to say in an area intended to be located slightly below the surface Su of the ground S, once the post system 1 is installed in the ground.
[0028] The protective sheath 3 which covers a part of the post body 23 from the lower end of the post 21 is shown in isolation in the figures 5 to 8 .
[0029] This protective sheath 3 is in the general form of a tube closed at one of its ends and which delimits an internal sheath housing 3a centered on a longitudinal sheath axis L2.
[0030] This protective sheath 3 comprises: - a lower sheath part 31 intended to cover the lower post part 232, and - an upper sheath part 32 intended to cover the lower section 2331 of the upper post part 233.
[0031] The lower sheath portion 31 comprises a lower end 311a and an upper end 311b. The upper sheath portion 32 comprises a lower end 321a and an upper end 321b.
[0032] Opposite the upper sheath portion 32, the lower end 311a of the lower sheath portion 31 is sealed by a sheath bottom 33. And opposite the lower sheath portion 31, the upper end 321b of the upper sheath portion 32 is provided with an opening forming a sheath mouth 34.
[0033] The inner section of the lower part of the sheath 31 corresponds, possibly within the clearance, to the outer section of the lower part of the post 232. Thus, the internal diameter of the lower part of the sheath 31 corresponds, possibly within the clearance, to the external diameter D1 of the post 2.
[0034] In the same way, the internal section of the lower section 32a of the upper part of the sheath 32 corresponds, possibly with the clearance, to the external section of the lower section 2331 of the upper part of the post 233. Thus, the internal diameter of the lower section 32a of the upper part of the sheath 32 also corresponds, possibly with the clearance, to the external diameter D1 of the post 2.
[0035] As can be seen on the figures 1 to 5the upper section 32b of the upper part of the sheath 32 flares out to the upper end 321b of this upper part of the sheath 32, so that the mouth of the sheath 34 has a diameter greater than the external diameter D1 of the post 2. This diameter of the mouth of the sheath 34, greater than the external diameter D1 of the post 2, allows the creation of an annular space 322 between the upper end 321b of the protective sheath 3 and the opposite part of the post 2, suitable for the positioning of the annular sealing gasket 5. The width of this annular space 322 can be of the order of 1 to 3 cm for example.
[0036] The flared portion of the upper section 32b of the upper sheath portion 32 may extend over one third of the height of the upper sheath portion 32. This flare is preferably regular over its entire height.
[0037] The inner section of the lower sheath portion 31 and the inner section of the lower section 32a of the upper sheath portion 32 may be provided to come into tight contact, without play, against the outer surface 231 of the post body 23; these sections may also be provided to maintain functional play between the post 2 and its protective sheath 3, in particular to take into account the manufacturing tolerances of the two elements.
[0038] Therefore, the post 2 can be associated with its protective sheath 3 by force introduction, or not by force. Preferably, as can be seen in the figure 4 , the lower end of post 21 comes into abutment against the bottom of sheath 33.
[0039] The protective sheath 3 further comprises a circular collar 35, which extends outwardly around the junction area between the lower sheath part 31 and the upper sheath part 32.
[0040] This circular collar 35 is made in one piece with the lower sheath part 31 and the upper sheath part 32. It comprises an annular support face 351, which is oriented towards the lower end 311a of the lower sheath part 31, and which extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the sheath L2.
[0041] The annular support face 351 of the circular collar 35 can cover the annular space between the post guide sleeve 4 and the lower part of the sleeve 31, in particular to limit the possibilities of soiling the internal volume of the post guide sleeve 4. In the context of an implementation without a post guide sleeve 4, the annular support face 351 of the circular collar 35 can serve as a marker for the sealing level and constitutes a positioning base on the surface of the ground.
[0042] The various constituent parts of the protective sheath 3 (upper part 32, lower part 31, circular collar 35 and sheath base 33) are produced in one piece by molding a plastic material such as polyethylene. For example, the protective sheath 3 can be obtained by a rotational molding technique in association with a cutting operation at the upper end 321 to produce the opening forming the sheath mouth 34. Alternatively, it can be produced by an injection molding technique.
[0043] As can be seen on the figures 1 And 5 , the external surface 312 of the lower part of the sheath 31 comprises projecting ribs 313 which extend parallel to each other and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sheath L2.
[0044] The ribs 313 extend from the sheath bottom 33, or practically from the sheath bottom 33, to the circular collar 35 or practically to the circular collar 35.
[0045] These ribs 313 make it possible to reinforce the structure of the protective sheath 3. They can serve as adjustment members by planing / trimming their end edges to penetrate into the associated post guide sleeve 4. In the context of an implementation without a post guide sleeve 4, they make it possible to improve the anti-rotation function of the protective sheath 3.
[0046] The annular seal 5 adapted to provide sealing between the upper end 321b of the protective sheath 3 and the post 2 is illustrated in isolation on the figures 9 to 11 .
[0047] This annular seal 5 comprises - a tubular seal body 51 adapted to be positioned in the annular space 322 between the protective sheath 3 and the external surface of the post body 231, and - an annular upper extension 52 comprising a shoulder 521 intended to come to bear against an upper end edge 3211 of the upper end 321b of the protective sheath 3. This upper end edge 3211 of the protective sheath 3 is here in the form of a peripheral bead or cord whose thickness is greater than the rest of the wall of the protective sheath 3 to improve the rigidity of the structure and also to improve the maintenance of the annular seal 5.
[0048] The annular seal 5 is made of flexible or semi-rigid material, for example rubber or EPDM (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Monomer).
[0049] The external tubular surface of the seal body 51 comprises annular flexible lips 511 intended to come into contact with the internal surface of the upper end 321b of the protective sheath 3 to optimize the seal.
[0050] The seal body 51 also comprises a tubular recess 512 which opens opposite the annular upper extension 52. This tubular recess 512 allows the annular seal 51 to deform to follow the expansions of the protective sheath 3. It also makes it possible to absorb crushing likely to be caused by animals.
[0051] The inner annular rim of the annular upper extension 52 includes a peripheral lip 522 for contacting the outer surface of the post body 231 to improve sealing.
[0052] The post system 1 further comprises anti-rotation means to prevent rotation of the post 2 relative to the protective sheath 3.
[0053] These anti-rotation means comprise the anti-rotation lug 234 described above, provided on the post body 23 of the post 2, which cooperates with a receiving housing 314 provided at the upper end 311b of the lower part of the sheath 31, just below the circular collar 35.
[0054] To allow the anti-rotation lug 234 to be housed in its receiving housing 314, the protective sheath 3 also comprises a longitudinal groove 323 formed between said receiving housing 314 and the sheath mouth 34. This longitudinal groove 323 opens into the internal sheath housing 3a; it forms a protrusion, seen from the outside, from the flared upper section 32b of the upper part of the sheath 32, up to the circular collar 35.
[0055] The longitudinal groove 323 therefore extends from the sheath mouth 34 to below the circular collar 35 where it opens into the receiving housing 314; and it is adapted to the passage of the anti-rotation lug 234.
[0056] The receiving housing 314 forms a boss or a protrusion 314a, seen from the outside, under the circular collar 35.
[0057] The longitudinal groove 323 and the receiving housing 314 are provided with a slight functional clearance to take into account the manufacturing tolerances of the post 2 and the protective sheath 3.
[0058] On the figures 1 , 4 , 5 and 7 we note that the protective sheath 3 comprises a second boss 315, identical to the boss 314a linked to the presence of the receiving housing 314 of the anti-rotation lug 234, arranged under the circular collar 35. The two bosses 314a and 315 are diametrically opposed on the periphery of the protective sheath 3.
[0059] The post guide sleeve 4, shown in isolation on the figures 12 to 14 , comprises a socket body 41 of which an upper socket end 411 is provided with an opening forming a socket mouth 42 and of which a lower socket end 412 is closed by a socket bottom 43.
[0060] The socket body 41 is generally tubular in shape, here cylindrical, comprising a longitudinal socket axis L3. The upper end of the socket 411 is bordered by a bead 4111 improving the rigidity and which delimits the socket mouth 42.
[0061] The various constituent parts of the post guide sleeve 4 (sleeve body 41 and sleeve bottom 43) are produced in one piece by molding a plastic material such as polyethylene. For example, the post guide sleeve 4 can be obtained by a rotational molding technique in association with a cutting operation at the upper end of the sleeve 411 to produce the opening forming the sleeve mouth 42. Alternatively, it can be produced by an injection molding technique.
[0062] The one-piece socket bottom 43 closes the lower end of socket 412 in a sealed manner.
[0063] The socket body 41 and the socket bottom 43 delimit an internal socket housing 4a which opens through the socket mouth 42.
[0064] The inner section of the post guide sleeve 4 corresponds, within clearance, to the outer section of the lower sleeve part 31. In this case, the diameter of the inner cylindrical housing 4a of the post guide sleeve 4 corresponds, within clearance, to the outer diameter of the lower sleeve part 31 (i.e. to the diameter of the virtual cylinder defined by the end edges of the ribs 313).
[0065] On the other hand, the height B1 of the post guide sleeve 4 corresponds at least approximately to the height of the lower part of the sleeve 31. The two parts 3 and 4 are preferably dimensioned so that, when the sleeve bottom 33 comes into contact with the sleeve bottom 43, the upper end of the sleeve 411 of the post guide sleeve 4 comes flush with the annular bearing face 351 of the circular collar 35 of the protective sleeve 3.
[0066] As specified above, the post guide sleeve 4 is intended to be implanted in the ground S, with the sleeve mouth 42 flush with the ground surface Su; and the post guide sleeve 4 is intended to receive the lower post part 232 covered with the lower sleeve part 31.
[0067] The outer surface 413 of the sleeve body 41 comprises projecting ribs 414, 415, in particular to increase rigidity and also to limit the possibilities of rotation and extraction, once the post guide sleeve 4 is implanted in the ground. For this, preferably, some of the ribs 414 extend parallel to the sleeve longitudinal axis L3, and other ribs 415 extend perpendicular to said sleeve longitudinal axis L3.
[0068] The post system 1 advantageously comprises anti-rotation means to prevent rotation of the protective sleeve 3 relative to the post guide sleeve 4.
[0069] These anti-rotation means are constituted by the aforementioned bosses 314a and 315, arranged at the level of the upper end 311b of the lower part of the sheath 31, which each cooperate with a complementary anti-rotation reservation 416 arranged at the level of the upper end of the sleeve 411.
[0070] In the illustrated embodiment, the upper end of the sleeve 411 comprises four anti-rotation reservations 416 spaced 90° apart. The four anti-rotation reservations 416 receive two by two the two bosses 314a, 315 of the protective sheath 3, depending on the orientation that it is desired to give to the post 2, in the case where the latter comprises welded directional members, for fixing the barriers.
[0071] In an alternative embodiment, the upper end 311b of the lower part of the sheath 31 may comprise four anti-rotation bosses spaced 90° apart.
[0072] One possible implementation of the post system 1 according to the invention consists in implanting the post guide sleeve 4 in the ground S (for example a concrete ground), with its sleeve longitudinal axis L3 arranged vertically and with its sleeve mouth 42 which is flush with the ground surface Su.
[0073] For its part, the post 2 is fitted into the protective sheath 3 until its lower end 21 comes into contact with the bottom of the sheath 33. During this fitting, the anti-rotation lug 234 of the post 2 engages in the upper part of the longitudinal groove 323 and passes along the entire length of this longitudinal groove 323 until it reaches its receiving housing 314.
[0074] The lower part of the sheath 31 then covers the lower part of the post 232 and the upper part of the sheath 32 covers the lower section 2331 of the upper part of the post 233, in a complete and sealed manner, except at the level of the annular space 322 of the mouth of the sheath 34.
[0075] Once the post 2 is properly fitted into its protective sheath 3, the annular space 322 between the protective sheath 3 and the post 2 can be filled by the annular seal 5, with its shoulder 521 bearing against the upper end edge 3211 of the protective sheath 3, to achieve sealing or near sealing at this level.
[0076] The lower end of the post 2 protected by the protective sleeve 3 can then be engaged / fitted into the internal socket housing 4a of the post guide sleeve 4, via the sleeve mouth 42, until the sleeve bottom 33 comes into contact with the socket bottom 43 (and the annular bearing face 351 of the circular collar 35 comes flush with the bead 4111 of the upper end of the sleeve 411). During this fitting, the bosses 314a and 315 of the protective sleeve 3 are housed in the opposite anti-rotation recesses 416, to fulfill the desired anti-rotation function of the post 2.
[0077] The contact or near contact between the circular collar 35 and the bead 4111 of the upper end of the sleeve 411 limits the possibilities of access of the straw, and also of liquids and dirt, into the internal housing of the sleeve 4a, between the lower part of the sheath 31 and the post guide sleeve 4.
[0078] This protects the lower part of post 2 in the ground and to a height slightly greater than the thickness of the bedding.
[0079] Such post protection is particularly effective against attacks linked to humidity, products generated by the operation such as manure and slurry, and also electrolysis phenomena (for metal posts).
[0080] THE figures 1 to 14illustrate a post system 1 comprising a post 2 of circular section, associated with a protective sleeve 3 and a post guide sleeve 4 also of circular section. And because of these circular sections, the post system 1 comprises anti-rotation means 234, 314, 416 to prevent rotation of the post 2 around its longitudinal post axis L1.
[0081] In an alternative embodiment illustrated in the figure 15 , the post system 1 comprises a post 2 of square section, associated with a protective sleeve 3 and a post guide sleeve 4 also of square section. The general shape of the annular seal 5 is then adapted to the polygonal shape of the annular space 322 between the protective sleeve 3 and the post 2.
[0082] Here, the square sections prevent rotation of the column about its longitudinal column axis L1, and the corresponding column assembly 1 does not require further anti-rotation means.
[0083] In an alternative embodiment, the post system may comprise a post 2 (of circular or square section) associated only with a protective sleeve 3, without a post guide sleeve 4. In such a post system, the lower part of the sleeve 31 is directly implanted in the ground S, with the annular bearing face 351 of the circular collar 35 in contact with the ground surface Su. The protective sleeve 3 then has no removable character and its ribs 313, as well as its bosses 314a, 315, constitute anti-rotation means relative to the ground S.
[0084] Also as an alternative embodiment, depending on requirements, versions without annular seal 5 and / or without circular collar 35 can be envisaged.
