Description

[0001] The invention relates to a lifting device for lifting wheelchairs, in particular for boarding and / or alighting vehicles, e.g., at a railway platform, having the features of the preamble of claim 1. STATE OF THE ART

[0002] To make it easier for wheelchair users to board a rail vehicle, for example, lifting lifts are used. These can move freely on the platform and be positioned in the area in front of a vehicle door. The lifting lift has a platform that can be raised relative to its chassis. In its lowest position, a wheelchair user can get from the platform to the platform. To bridge a step between the platform and the platform, a ramp is usually folded out, allowing the wheelchair user to access the platform with almost no steps and without too much of an incline. The platform is then moved to an upper position where the platform is approximately level with the vehicle floor. To bridge a gap between the platform and the vehicle, another ramp is provided that can be folded out, allowing the wheelchair user to transfer from the platform to the vehicle via the ramp.

[0003] Such lifting lifts are known, for example, from documents DE 4 342 373 A1 and WO 2007 / 068126 A1. The lifting lifts disclosed therein comprise a U-shaped support frame for support against the ground, a lifting column arranged laterally on a central leg of the support frame, and a lifting platform. The longitudinal direction of the platform runs parallel to the central leg of the support frame and extends over the two additional legs of the support frame projecting from the central leg, whereby a wheelchair user can drive onto the platform in a forward direction and also drive off it again. To enable step-free access and dismounting, a pivoting ramp is provided on the platform.

[0004] There are also known hoist lifts whose movable platforms can only be accessed from one side. This means that a wheelchair user can, for example, drive forward onto the platform, and the platform can then be raised to the vehicle level. To enter the vehicle, the wheelchair user must drive backward off the platform. Such a hoist lift is known, for example, from document DE 299 16 236 U1.

[0005] Documents US 5 105 915 A and US 3 806 092 A disclose a hoist lift with rollers on its chassis to allow the lift lift to move freely as a whole in its travel position. In US 3 806 092 A, the rollers can be folded away, allowing a platform of the hoist lift to be lowered further than the travel position. This is intended to enable easy access to the platform.

[0006] Document US 2 792 079 A discloses a lifting platform for lifting goods into and out of transport vehicles. The lifting platform can be moved to a lower loading position for loading / unloading the goods, in which the platform rests essentially on the ground.

[0007] Document JP H08 301588 A concerns a permanently installed platform lift. A turntable is integrated into the platform of the lift. This allows a wheelchair user to drive onto the platform in one direction. The platform is then raised or lowered. By rotating the turntable relative to the outer platform ring, the wheelchair user can be rotated and drive off the platform in a direction 90° opposite the drive-on direction. DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The object of the invention is to further develop a lifting platform in such a way that the entry and exit times and / or the space required during use can be reduced, in particular without compromising comfort for the wheelchair user and / or the operating personnel.

[0009] The object of the invention is achieved by a lifting device having the features of independent claim 1.

[0010] According to the invention, it was recognized that the use of fold-out ramps on platform lifts is a limiting factor for the most comfortable boarding and alighting of wheelchair users. Firstly, such platform lifts can only be used on sufficiently wide platforms where there is sufficient space for a wheelchair user in the extension of the ramp even when the ramp is folded out. Secondly, the folding and unfolding of the ramp delays boarding and alighting times. The invention is based on the recognition that such a ramp can be dispensed with without any loss of comfort. According to the invention, it is provided that a platform of a platform lift can be folded out from a normal driving position, in which the underside of the platform is at a minimum distance from ground level so that the platform lift can be moved freely across the platform, e.g.in order to position it conveniently in front of a vehicle door, it can be lowered in a targeted manner so that a wheelchair user can drive onto or off the platform from ground level essentially without any steps.

[0011] A platform lift according to the invention can be designed, in particular, for use on a railway platform to enable wheelchair users to board or disembark from the platform into a vehicle whose floor level is different from the floor level of the platform itself. However, such a platform lift can also be used in other locations, e.g., at event venues where flexible accessibility is to be created, at least temporarily.

[0012] To allow the lift to move flexibly across a surface, it is equipped with a chassis. The chassis can include rollers or wheels, allowing the lift to be moved as easily as possible relative to the ground. In a simple design, the lift can be moved entirely manually. However, it can also be motorized to move the lift.

[0013] The lift also features a platform that can be moved relative to the chassis. When the lift is in operation, a wheelchair user can drive onto the platform. A lifting movement raises or lowers the platform to the desired level.

[0014] According to the invention, the lift has at least three positions: a driving position, a lower loading position and an upper loading position.

[0015] The drive position is characterized by the fact that the underside of the platform is at a predetermined distance from ground level, allowing the lift to be moved relative to the ground. A predetermined minimum distance between the platform and ground level is important to provide the necessary ground clearance so that, for example, bumps and smaller obstacles can be negotiated by the lift without the risk of bottoming out or damaging the platform. At the same time, the distance between the platform and ground level in the drive position must not be too great. The greater the distance, the less stable the lift becomes due to the resulting shift in the center of gravity in a vertical upward direction.

[0016] In state-of-the-art hoist lifts, the drive position also serves as the position in which a wheelchair user can drive up from ground level to the platform or down from the platform to ground level. A fold-out ramp is provided on the platform to bridge the specified minimum distance between the platform and ground level.

[0017] According to the invention, the lower loading position is designed to allow a wheelchair user to drive onto the platform from ground level or drive down from the platform to ground level. In the lower loading position, the platform is deliberately lowered compared to the driving position so that the distance between the underside of the platform and ground level is minimized as much as possible. Due to the reduced distance between the platform and ground level, a wheelchair user can drive onto and off the platform without any loss of comfort and without a ramp. This correspondingly reduces the time required to fold the ramp out and back in again in conventional lifting platforms. Furthermore, the space required for the lifting platform is also reduced because there is no need for any free space beyond the platform for a ramp. This means that a lifting platform according to the invention can also be used in confined spaces.

[0018] To allow a wheelchair user to drive onto or off the platform at a higher level than ground level, the platform is moved to the upper loading position. In this position, the platform is raised above the driving position, allowing entry and exit at a higher level than ground level. Ideally, any height difference between the platform and, for example, the ground level of a vehicle is completely eliminated.

[0019] In the following, we generally assume a usage situation of the lifting platform according to the invention in which a wheelchair user drives onto the platform in a lower loading position and drives off the platform again in the upper loading position, e.g., to board a vehicle with a raised level above ground level from a platform. Even if this is not explained separately, the explanations apply accordingly to the reverse usage situation in which a wheelchair user drives onto the platform in an upper loading position and drives off the platform again in the lower loading position, e.g., to exit a vehicle with a raised level above ground level and access the platform.

[0020] To ensure the easiest possible access to and from the ramp, the platform, according to one embodiment of the invention, has two end sections opposite one another in the direction of travel, with the platform being accessible from either end section. In particular, this allows for a type of through-loading. This means that a wheelchair user can drive onto the platform forwards via one end section and can also drive off the platform forwards via the opposite end section.

[0021] In the lower loading position, the distance between the driveable surface of the platform and ground level is largely minimized. However, since the platform must have a certain thickness to provide the necessary stability, the distance cannot be reduced to zero. In order to enable largely step-free entry and exit, in an embodiment according to the invention the platform has a ramp at at least one of the end sections for driving onto or off the platform. The ramp can in particular be formed integrally with the platform, e.g. by the platform being flattened towards the end section. The angle of inclination of the ramp is preferably no greater than 6°.

[0022] In the upper loading position, any height difference between the platform and, for example, the ground level of a vehicle is ideally completely eliminated. Any remaining lateral and / or vertical distance between the platform and the vehicle can be bridged by a ramp provided on the platform. The ramp can be arranged on the platform in a fold-out or extendable manner. This means that the ramp can be folded out or extended specifically for driving onto or off the ramp. When folded or retracted, the ramp is largely stowed away so that it takes up as little space as possible. Particularly when the ramp is arranged on the platform in a fold-out position, it can also serve as a roll-off barrier for a wheelchair user when folded up. Alternatively or additionally, other safety elements can be provided to prevent roll-off, e.g. a bracket, a chain, a strap, etc.

[0023] According to one embodiment, the chassis has a substantially U-shaped base frame. This comprises two freely ending legs and a connecting leg connecting these two legs. The base frame is oriented substantially horizontally and serves as a support element by means of which the lifting device is supported on the ground, at least indirectly via any rollers or wheels. The platform is in particular positioned and oriented relative to the base frame such that, in the lower loading position, the platform is lowered into or even below a free space delimited by the base frame. This means that in the lower loading position, the distance between the underside of the platform and ground level is not limited by the fact that sufficient space must remain for parts of the base frame that are located between ground level and the platform below the platform.Rather, the base frame can be lowered into or even below the free space defined by the U-shaped base frame. Ideally, the platform can be lowered to ground level.

[0024] In the lower loading position, the platform can be oriented relative to the base frame in such a way that an end section for driving onto the platform from ground level - viewed in projection onto the base frame - is arranged between the two freely ending legs. This means that the end section is positioned in the area of the open end of the U-shaped base frame. This means that, for example, the base frame does not have to be overcome to drive onto the platform. Accordingly, the height to be overcome in order to get from ground level to the platform is not determined by the height of the base frame. Rather, one can drive onto it directly from ground level via the end section of the platform. The height to be overcome is therefore essentially determined by the thickness of the platform and in particular the end section located in the area of the open end, which can be kept comparatively low. For step-free entry and exit, the platform must be designed in such a way that there are no additional steps. For exit, a ramp may be provided in the area of the end section for access to the platform.

[0025] If the platform can be crossed without changing direction and the opposite end section is used, for example, for driving off in the upper loading position, this end section, according to the aforementioned embodiment, is located in the area of the connecting leg of the base frame when projected onto the base frame. The connecting leg essentially limits the minimum height from which the platform can be driven off in the upper loading position. However, this is not critical, since the raised level is usually significantly higher than the height of the base frame.

[0026] To perform the lifting movement, a lifting column with a lifting drive can be provided. This can be a manually or automatically operated lifting drive. Specifically, the lifting drive can be a hydraulic drive or a belt drive.

[0027] The lifting column with the lifting drive can be arranged in the area of one of the free-ending legs of the base frame. In particular, this arrangement makes it possible to drive over the platform without changing direction if the end section for accessing the platform from ground level is in the lower loading position near the open end of the U-shaped base frame.

[0028] To ensure the best possible support for the platform, a second lifting column with a separate lifting drive for the platform's lifting movement can be provided in addition to the lifting column. The second lifting column is located, in particular, on the other free-ending leg of the base frame, thus achieving a largely symmetrical structure. To achieve the most uniform lifting movement possible, the second lifting drive can be synchronized with the lifting drive.

[0029] According to the invention, the platform can be rotated together with the chassis around a vertical axis. For use on a railway platform, this makes it possible to specifically change the orientation of the platform in the various positions of the lift.

[0030] Specifically, in the upper loading position the platform can be rotated around the vertical axis compared to the lower loading position, e.g. by an angle in the range of 80 to 110° and in particular by an angle in the range of 90°. For example, in the lower loading position the platform can be oriented so that the direction of approach to the platform is parallel to the longitudinal direction of the platform. In the upper loading position, on the other hand, the platform can be rotated by 90° so that the direction of departure from the platform is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the platform. On the one hand, this means that a wheelchair user can cross the platform for boarding or alighting without changing direction relative to the platform. At the same time, however, the orientation of the platform changes, e.g. relative to the platform. This allows us to take advantage of the fact that there is sufficient space along the length of the platform, meaning that even a longer ramp and / or ramps for driving onto the platform are not a problem.

[0031] There are various options for achieving rotation about the vertical axis of rotation. In particular, a pivot bearing can be provided for this purpose. According to the invention, a turntable and / or turntable is provided for rotating the platform about the vertical axis of rotation. For joint rotation of the platform with the chassis, the turntable can be arranged, for example, under the platform and / or on the chassis.

[0032] In a further embodiment, the lifting platform can have a rotation position in which the underside of the platform is at a predetermined vertical distance from the base frame of the chassis and in which the platform is enabled for rotation about the vertical axis. In contrast, rotation of the platform about the vertical axis of rotation can be prevented, for example, in the lower or upper loading position. For example, a mechanical locking device or a corresponding control system can be provided for this purpose.

[0033] If the platform can rotate relative to the base frame, the specified distance is determined in particular by the fact that the platform is located above the base frame in the rotational position and can thus rotate freely above it. The specified distance to the base frame is preferably as small as possible, ensuring good stability even with the raised platform.

[0034] If the platform rotates together with the platform, the specified distance can be determined, for example, by how far the platform must be lowered so that a turntable mounted on the underside of the platform comes into contact with the ground. This allows the weight of the lift to be supported on the ground via the turntable. During a further lifting movement, the platform is not lowered further; instead, the base frame is raised relative to the platform and relative to the ground until the desired ground clearance is reached. In this rotated position, the platform can be rotated around the vertical axis of rotation together with the base frame relative to the turntable.

[0035] If the platform is rotatable about a vertical axis of rotation and the bogie has a U-shaped base frame, a special positioning of the lifting column relative to the base frame can be provided. Specifically, the lifting column can be arranged in the region of half and preferably the third of the freely ending leg of the base frame, in which its free end is located. The vertical axis of rotation is - viewed from the base frame - essentially at the same height as the lifting column and essentially between the two freely ending legs. This arrangement achieves a stable structure in which the vertical axis of rotation is as close as possible to the lifting column. On the other hand, the vertical rotation axis is positioned so that the longer end of the platform, relative to the vertical rotation axis, is rotated toward a vehicle during rotation. Thus, in the upper loading position, it can be used to drive from the platform into the vehicle. Thus, in the rotated position, the platform can bridge a greater distance to the vehicle.

[0036] Particularly if the platform is rotatable, it can be difficult for personnel to position the lift so that the end section of the platform, via which it can be exited in the upper loading position, is aligned, for example, with a vehicle entrance. Therefore, according to one embodiment, a positioning aid is provided. The positioning aid indicates the position of the end section of the platform for driving onto or off the platform in the upper loading position. The position is preferably indicated by means of the positioning aid at least in the driving position and / or upon special activation by operating personnel.

[0037] The position can be displayed in relation to one or more spatial directions. For example, when entering or exiting a vehicle, the direction of entry or exit can show where the end section for entering or exiting the platform will be in the upper loading position. Specifically, the position of the end section can be displayed in projection onto the vehicle wall using a light projection onto the vehicle wall. For example, the positioning aid can comprise two light sources, each generating a light point. The light points can visualize the lateral extent of the end section for entering or exiting the platform relative to the vehicle. A light projection onto the floor can also be provided to show where the end section ends relative to the floor, and thus visualize the distance to the vehicle. Alternatively or additionally, the positioning aid can be a simple marking, e.g.highlighted colored stripes on the platform or chassis.

[0038] Advantageous developments of the invention emerge from the claims, the description, and the drawings. The advantages of features and combinations of several features mentioned in the description are merely exemplary and can be effective alternatively or cumulatively, without the advantages necessarily being achieved by embodiments of the invention. The number of features mentioned in the claims and the description is to be understood as meaning that exactly this number or a greater number than the stated number is present, without the need for an explicit use of the term "at least." These features can be supplemented by other features or be the only features of which the respective product consists. The reference signs contained in the claims do not represent a limitation of the scope of the subject-matter protected by the claims. They serve solely to make the claims easier to understand. PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

[0039] Further measures improving the invention are described in more detail below, together with the description of preferred embodiments of the invention, with reference to the figures. It shows: Figure 1 a perspective view of a lifting lift according to the invention in its driving position, Figure 2 a plan view of the lifting lift according to Figure 1 in its driving position, Figure 3 a side view of the lift according to Figure 1 in its driving position, Figure 4 a detail of Figure 3 , Figure 5 a side view of the lift according to Figure 1 in its lower loading position, Figure 6 a detail of Figure 5 , Figure 7 a perspective view of the lift according to Figure 1in its upper loading position, Figure 8 a side view of a lifting lift according to the invention in its rotating position, Figure 9 a detail of Figure 8 , Figure 10the lifting lift according to Figure 8 in a top view.

[0040] Figure 1 shows an embodiment of a lifting lift 1 according to the invention. The lifting lift 1 has a chassis 2 and a platform 3 that can be lifted relative to the chassis 2.

[0041] The chassis 2 comprises a U-shaped base frame 4 with two freely ending legs 5, 6 and a connecting leg 7 that connects the two freely ending legs 5, 6. A total of four wheels 8 are arranged on the base frame 4, allowing the lift 1 to be moved flexibly relative to the ground 9.

[0042] To raise and lower the platform 3 relative to the chassis 2, the lifting lift 1 has a lifting column 10 with a lifting drive (not shown in detail). The lifting column 10 is arranged in the area of one of the two free-ending legs 5, 6.

[0043] As is particularly evident from Figure 2 As can be seen, the platform 3 is dimensioned and arranged such that it is located within the free space 11 defined by the base frame 4, as seen in projection onto the base frame 4, and optionally protrudes beyond the open end of the U-shaped base frame 4 with an end section 12. A ramp 13 is provided in the area of the end section 12.

[0044] At the end section 14 of the platform 3, which is opposite the end section 12, a ramp 15 is arranged. In the Figures 1 to 4In the driving position of the lift 1 shown, the ramp 15 is shown in its folded-up position. However, it can be folded out in an upper loading position of the lift 1, as shown in Figure 7 shown.

[0045] In the Figures 1 to 4 The lifting platform 1 is shown in its driving position. In the driving position, the platform 3 is aligned essentially parallel to the floor 9 and a bottom side 16 of the platform 3 has a predetermined minimum distance 17 to the floor level 18. The minimum distance 17 is selected such that there is sufficient ground clearance between the platform 3 and the floor 9 and the lifting platform 1 can also be moved over smaller obstacles without the risk of the lifting platform 1 touching down and / or damaging the platform 3. As shown in the Figures 3 and 4 As shown, the underside 16 of the platform 3 in the driving position can, for example, be approximately at the same height as the underside 19 of the base frame 4 of the chassis 2.

[0046] In the driving position, a wheelchair user would therefore have to overcome at least the minimum distance 17 to reach platform 3 from ground level 18. This would require a considerable step. Alternatively, a sufficiently flat ramp would have to be arranged as an extension of platform 3 to allow access to platform 3 without excessive incline. However, in the lifting platform 1 according to the invention, platform 3 can be deliberately lowered into a lower loading position to facilitate access to platform 3.

[0047] The lower loading position is in the Figures 5 and 6illustrated. In the lower loading position, the platform 3 is further lowered compared to the driving position, so that the distance between the underside 16 of the platform 3 and the ground level 18 is reduced compared to the minimum distance 17. Ideally, the distance can be reduced to zero or almost zero, so that a wheelchair user can drive onto the platform 3 via the ramp 13 essentially without any steps. The fact that the distance can be reduced to this extent is achieved in particular by the dimensioning and arrangement of the platform 3. For this purpose, the platform is dimensioned and arranged in relation to the base frame 4 such that it can be lowered into and even below the free space 11 defined by the base frame 4. The end section 12, via which a wheelchair user can access the platform 3, lies in the area of the open end of the U-shaped base frame 4.The height to be overcome is therefore not determined by the height of the base frame 4, but by the strength of the platform 3.

[0048] In Figure 7 The lifting platform 1 is shown in its upper loading position, in which the platform 3 is raised relative to the driving position, allowing entry and exit at a level higher than ground level 18. Entry and exit is via the end section 14 and the ramp 15 arranged in this area. This means that a wheelchair user can cross the platform 3 in the crossing direction 20 without having to change direction for entry or exit.

[0049] When the ramp 15 is folded up, it can function as a roll-off safety device. In addition, additional safety elements not shown in the figures can be provided for roll-off safety, particularly in the area of the end section 12 and in the side areas of the platform 3.

[0050] According to the invention, a degree of freedom of rotation about a vertical axis of rotation is provided. Specifically, the platform 3 can be rotated, for example, together with the chassis 2 and the lifting column 10 arranged thereon about the vertical axis of rotation 21, as shown in Figure 10 For a rotation around the vertical axis of rotation 21, the lifting lift 1 is moved into a Figures 8 and 9 shown in more detail. In the rotating position, the platform 3 is lowered relative to the chassis 2 so far that a turntable 22 arranged rotatably on the underside 16 of the platform 3 is in contact with the ground 9 and the chassis 2 is even lifted off the ground 9, as in Figure 9 indicated by the distance 23. Due to the ground clearance thus achieved, the platform 3 can be rotated together with the chassis 2 relative to the turntable 22 about the vertical axis of rotation 21.

[0051] The degree of freedom of rotation can be used as follows: For a transfer of a wheelchair user from the platform to a vehicle, the lifting platform 1 is placed in its driving position on the platform so that the crossing direction 20 of the platform 3 is oriented approximately parallel to the longitudinal direction of the platform. The lifting platform 1 is then transferred to the lower loading position, in which the wheelchair user can drive onto the platform 3 via the ramp 13, e.g., in a forward direction. In the next step, the lifting platform 1 is transferred to the rotating position. The platform 3 is in the rotating position, as shown in Figure 10shown, e.g. rotated counterclockwise by approximately 90°. As a result of the rotation, the orientation of platform 3 relative to the platform changes, so that the crossing direction 20 is ultimately oriented approximately transversely to the longitudinal direction of the platform. The end section 14 with the ramp 15 now points towards the edge of the platform and towards a vehicle parked there. The platform is now raised to the desired elevated level by the lifting drive. Once the upper loading position is reached, the wheelchair user can drive off platform 3 in the crossing direction 20 and in particular continue in the forward direction via the end section 14 and the ramp 15 and get into the vehicle.

[0052] Exiting from a vehicle can also occur in the opposite way. List of reference symbols:
