Description
[0001] The present invention relates to presentation packaging for clothing items, specifically for clothing cuts with a neckline, such as shirts, sweaters, pullovers, T-shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, dresses, undershirts, jerseys, hoodies, etc.
[0002] Conventional presentation packaging for shirts consists of a cardboard support and a closed wrapper made of transparent plastic film or cellophane. This closed wrapper is disadvantageous because it prevents the customer from directly touching the garment. Furthermore, plastic film wrapping is no longer considered environmentally sustainable.
[0003] Display packaging is used to display clothing items in stores in a folded state, making them easily visible to customers. To achieve this, the display packaging should be both standable and hangable, meaning it should be able to stand on shelves, lean against a back wall, or be hung from a rod.

[0010] The inventive presentation packaging for a garment with a neckline comprises a support insert formed from a cardboard blank and a rear reinforcement card formed from a cardboard blank. The support insert is designed for insertion inside the garment and includes: a bow-shaped upper end region, the tapered central region of which is designed to protrude from the neckline, a central section adjoining the upper end region, a lower wrap-around section, and a bending strip section located between the central section and the lower wrap-around section. The bending strip section is provided with material weakenings to allow it to be shaped into a curve, so that the lower wrap-around section can be positioned opposite and offset parallel to the central section at a predeterminable distance.Because the bending strip section is bendable along its width (perpendicular to the strip direction) with a predefined curvature, it can be bent into a tighter curve of 180°, resulting in a smaller distance between the center section and the offset, parallel, overlapping section, or it can be bent into a wider curve, resulting in a larger distance between the center section and the overlapping section. This allows this part of the presentation packaging to be adapted to different material thicknesses or material cuts of various types of clothing, some of which are accommodated in the space between the center section and the folded overlapping section.

From Fig. 4a It can be seen that the function of the bending strip zone 34 is to enable, by variable shaping of its curvature, the main area 32 of the rear reinforcement card 30 to lie at a predeterminable distance from the central section 6 of the support insert 2 in order to be able to accommodate different amounts of material of the garment therebetween, depending on the type of garment.
[0052] The tapered end region 36 of the rear reinforcement card 30 is provided with a foldable part 40 which can be folded over 180° along a fold line 38, this folding of the foldable part 40 serving to bring the foldable part 40, when the tapered end region 36 rests between the fold line 38 and the bending strip zone 34 against a surface of the upper end of the bow-shaped upper end region 4 of the support insert, by folding it over onto the opposite surface of the upper end of the bow-shaped upper end region 4. This serves, among other things, to keep openings 42 and 44 of the rear reinforcement card 30 in communication with an opening 5 at the upper end of the bow-shaped upper end region 4 of the support insert 2 and the rear reinforcement card 30 by means of a pin 72 formed on a suspension hook 70 made of plastic (see Fig. 4a and 4b) is pushed through the aligned openings 42, 5 and 44 and the outer projecting end of the pin is clipped into engagement with one end of an extension 74 of the suspension hook 70 to secure the connection of the support insert 2 and the rear reinforcement card 30 and the attachment of the suspension hook 70 to the assembly of the support insert 2 and the rear reinforcement card 30. As in Figures 4a and 4b shown, in order to secure the pin 72 of the suspension hook, its extension 74 with an opening at its end can be extended over an enlarged head of the pin 72 ( Fig. 4b ), whereby the opening expands elastically and snaps into place after passing the enlarged head behind it.
[0053] We will now once again look at the rear reinforcement card and its further design with reference to the Figures 3a -3c returned. As in Figure 3aAs can be seen, two opposite slits 46 are formed in the main area 32 of the rear reinforcement card 30. These serve to guide a protective strip 50 formed from a cardboard blank, wherein the central main section 56 of the protective strip 50 lies on a side of the rear reinforcement card 30 facing away from the garment and the protective strip 50 is guided through the slits 46 onto the side facing the garment, which in Figure 3cis shown. The opposite end sections 52 of the protective strip 50 are each connected to the remaining central region of the protective strip 50 via third lateral bending strip sections 54. The third lateral bending strip sections 54 can each again be formed by a plurality of grooves. By bending the third lateral bending strip sections 54 in a curved shape around the packaged item of clothing, the opposite end sections 52 of the protective strip can be folded around the packaged item of clothing and onto its front side.
[0054] The folded end sections 52 on the front of the packaged garment serve to apply the pressure of a rubber ring 60 (see Figures 1g - 1h) which runs on the rear side of the rear reinforcement card 30 facing away from the garment, is guided into slots in the rear reinforcement card 30 at the opposite outer edges, and then continues along the third lateral bending strip sections 54 and the opposite end sections 52 of the protective strip 50 to the front of the packaged garment. [0058] In an alternative embodiment described in Figures 2a - 2k As shown, the cardboard blank is made of a single layer of paperboard with a strength of 450 g / m 2. In order to give the support insert 2 sufficient strength despite the lower paper thickness, the cardboard blank is designed as follows. As shown in Figure 2aAs shown, the support insert 2, as in the previously described embodiment, has a bow-shaped upper end region 4, a middle section 6 and, adjoining this, a bending strip section 8 and a lower folding section 10. This structure is used for the following construction.Before folding the lower folding section 10, an area of the central section 6 and the bow-shaped upper end section 4 corresponding to the outer frame 24 is provided with a layer of glue 26. The lower folding section 10 is then bent by deforming the bending strip 8 (Fig. Figure 2b ) and finally brought into contact with the middle section 6 and the bow-shaped upper end region 4, whereby the outer frame 24 of the cardboard blank around the lower folding section 10 comes into contact with the glue layer 24. After the frame 24 has been brought into contact with the middle section 6 and the bow-shaped upper end region 2, the dividing line connecting the frame to the lower folding section 10 and the bending strip section 8 can be separated by tearing open the thin cardboard webs in the dividing line, after which the lower folding section 10 is folded back into the flat starting position, as in Figure 2cshown. In this way, the cardboard blank in the area of the middle section 6 and the bow-shaped upper end area 4 of the support insert in the area of the frame 24 receives twice the material thickness and thus in the middle section 6 and in the bow-shaped upper end area 4 an increased strength, which despite the otherwise lower thickness of the starting cardboard blank of only 450 g / m 2< provides sufficient strength of the support insert for most applications, which therefore requires less material overall than the first embodiment.

Claims
1. Presentation packaging for an item of clothing having a neckline, which presentation packaging comprises: a supporting inlay (2) which is formed form a carton blank and which is configured for insertion into an interior of the item of clothing by comprising: a hanger-shaped upper end portion (4), a tapered central portion of which being shaped to protrude through the neckline; a middle portion (6) adjoining the upper end portion; a lower folding section (10); and a bending stripe section (8) which is located between the middle portion (6) and the lower folding section (10) and which is provided with material weakenings to be formable in a curve shape such that the lower folding section (10) can be positioned to be in juxtaposition to and in an offset parallel relation to the middle portion (6) at a selectable distance thereto; a rearward backing card (30) which is formed from a carton blank for positioning it in juxtaposition to the folded lower folding section (10) of the supporting inlay (2), wherein the rearward backing card (30) comprises: a main portion (32) of the rearward backing card, which main portion is upwards adjoined by a bending stripe zone (34) which is provided with material weakenings to be formable in the area of the bending stripe zone (34) in a curve shape such that a tapered end section (36) adjoining the bending stripe zone (34) can be positioned by the curve shape of the bending stripe zone (34) at a selectable distance to and in an offset parallel relation to the main portion (32) and in abutment on a backside of the hanger-shaped upper end portion (4) of the supporting inlay (2), wherein the tapered end section (36) is foldable along a folding line (38) to let a folded over part (40) contact a front side of the hanger-shaped upper end portion (4) of the supporting inlay (2); and a suspension hook (70) which is connected to the tapered central portion of the hanger-shaped upper end portion (4) of the supporting inlay (2) and to the tapered end section (36) of the rearward backing card (30) and connecting said tapered central portion and said tapered end section to each other.

Presentation packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the material weakenings of the bending stripe section (8) of the supporting inlay (2) and the bending stripe zone (34) of the rearward backing card (30) are each formed by a plurality of creases in the carton blank, which creases extend parallel to and spaced a part from each other in a stripe direction of the bending stripe section (8) and the bending stripe zone (34), wherein each crease forms a fold line.
3. Presentation packaging according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hanger-shaped upper end portion (4) of the supporting inlay (2) is laterally provided with opposite, laterally protruding sleeve extensions (12) which are connected to the upper end portion (4) by a respective first lateral bending stripe section (14) comprising material weakenings to be formable in a curve shape so that the respective sleeve extension (12) is, by the curved back shape of the respective first lateral bending stripe section (14), positionable above the upper end portion (4) of the supporting inlay.

Presentation packaging according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the middle portion (6) of the supporting inlay (2) is provided on its lateral sides with opposite, laterally protruding side extensions (16) which are connected to the middle portion (6) by a respective second lateral bending stripe section (18) comprising material weakenings to be formable in a curve shape such that the respective side extension (16) is, by the curved back shape of the respective second lateral bending stripe section (18), positionable above the middle portion (6) of the supporting inlay.

Presentation packaging according to claim 3 and 4, characterized in that the material weakenings of the first lateral bending stripe sections (14) and the second lateral bending stripe sections (18) of the supporting inlay (2) each are formed by a plurality of creases in the carton blank, which creases extend parallel to and spaced apart from each other in a stripe direction of the first and second lateral bending stripe sections, wherein each crease forms a fold line.

Presentation packaging according to claim 4 or according to claims 4 and 5, characterized in that the middle portion (6) of the supporting inlay is provided with two incisions, each having a bent shape such that a tab-shaped area section of the middle portion (6) of the supporting inlay embraced by the respective incision can be bent up as a flap, wherein the flaps formed in this manner are positioned on the supporting inlay (2) such that, after bending the second lateral bending stripe sections (18) for folding the side extensions (16) back to the middle portion (6), outer edges of the bent back side extensions (16) are insertable behind the flaps.

Presentation packaging according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the rearward backing card (30) is provided with a protective strip (50) which is formed from a carton blank and which is disposed in a central portion of the backing card (30) extending on the surface of the rearward backing card (30) facing the supporting inlay (2) and which is guided through slots (46) to the opposite surface of the rearward backing card (30), which slots are formed close to opposite lateral sides of the rearward backing card (30), wherein opposing end sections (52) of the protective strip (50) are connected to the central main portion (56) of the protective strip (50) by third lateral bending stripe sections (54) which comprise material weakenings so that the third lateral bending stripe sections (54) are formable in curve shape such that by forming the third lateral bending stripe sections (54) to a bent back shape the opposing end sections (52) of the protective strip (50) are positionable to extend towards and above the middle portion (6) of the supporting inlay (2).
8. Presentation packaging according to claim 7, characterized in that the rearward backing card (30) is provided with a rubber ring (60) which is guided through openings in the rearward backing card (30) and openings in the opposing end sections (52) of the protective strip (50) in order to further stabilize the aggregation of supporting inlay (2) and rearward backing card (50), wherein the rubber ring (60) is guided to extend on the outer surfaces of the third lateral bending strip sections (54) and of the opposing end sections (52) of the protective strip.
9. Presentation packaging according to claim 8, characterized in that each of the openings in the rearward backing card (30) is connected by an incision with an accessible edge of the rearward backing card (30) and that each of the openings in the opposing end sections (52) of the protective strip is connected by a respective incision with an accessible edge of the protective strip such that the rubber ring (60) can be inserted through the incisions into the respective openings.
10. Presentation packaging according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the carton blank of the supporting inlay (2) is provided in the area of the middle portion (6) with a central cutout (20) for reduction of material.
11. Presentation packaging according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the carton blank of the supporting inlay (2) is formed by a laminated aggregation of two laminated paper cartons.
12. Presentation packaging according to any of the claims 1-10, characterized in that the carton blank of the supporting inlay (2) is formed by a single layer paper carton, wherein a part in the form of a frame which has been left over after cutting out the lower folding section (10) and the bending stripe section (8) of the supporting inlay (2) is bent back by folding it over to the middle portion (6) and the hanger-shaped upper end portion (4) of the supporting inlay (2) and is glued thereto in order to increase the strength of the supporting inlay (2) in the areas of the middle portion (6) and of the hanger-shaped upper end portion (4).
13. Presentation packaging according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the suspension hook (70) is connected to the supporting inlay (2) and to the rearward backing card (30) by a pin (72) extending from the suspension hook (70) through aligned openings (42, 5, 44) in the tapered end section (36) of the rearward backing card (30), in the hanger-shaped upper end portion (4) of the supporting inlay and in the folded over part (40) of the tapered end section (36) of the rearward backing card (30) and holding the suspension hook (70) connected to the assembly of supporting inlay (2) and rearward backing card (30) formed in this manner, wherein a tab extending from the suspension hook (70) engages as a clip fastener the end of the pin (72) guided through the openings (42, 5, 44) and secures the pin (72) in this positioning.

Sales package comprising an item of clothing having a neckline and a presentation packaging according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the support inlay is inserted into the interior of the item of clothing such that a portion of the hanger-shaped upper end portion (4) of the supporting inlay protrudes through the neckline, wherein the lower folding section (10) is brought by folding the bending stripe section (8) to be opposite to and in juxtaposition with the middle portion (6), wherein the rearward backing card (30) is brought with its main portion (32) in abutment with portions of the item of clothing which cover the facing surface of the lower folding section (10) of the supporting inlay, wherein the tapered end section (36) of the rearward backing card (30) is brought by bending the bending stripe zone (34) to a curve shape to be in abutment on the hanger-shaped upper end portion (4) of the supporting inlay, wherein the foldable part (40) of the tapered end section (36) of the rearward backing card (30) is, by folding over along the fold line (38), folded to the opposite surface of the hanger-shaped upper end portion (4) of the supporting inlay, and wherein the suspension hook (70) is coupled with the tapered central portion of the hanger-shaped upper end portion (4) of the supporting inlay (2) and with the tapered end section (36) of the rearward backing card (30) and thereby connects the supporting inlay and the rearward backing card.
