Description

[0001] Description

[0002] Filter component and method for producing a filter component

[0003] A filter component and a method for producing a filter component are specified.

[0004] Filter components, in particular EMC filter components, are used, for example, to at least partially suppress or eliminate unwanted interference signals in current conductors or electrical connecting elements between electronic components. For example, DC-DC converters, which can be a source of unwanted interference signals, are used in electrically powered vehicles. To avoid negatively influencing or damaging other electronic components, a filter component is arranged, in particular, between the DC-DC converter and the other electronic components. A filter component is known, for example, from the publication DE 10 2016 110 742 A1.

[0005] The electrical connection elements between the electronic components are designed, for example, as busbars in order to be able to carry a high operating current. There is an electrical contact between the filter component and the busbar for dissipating the electrical interference signal. A soldered connection between the busbar and the filter component is not possible, for example, due to strong soldering heat dissipation. The electrical contact between the busbar and the filter component is therefore established, for example, by a screw connection. At least one object of certain embodiments is to specify an improved filter component which has a particularly compact design. This object is achieved by an article having the features of patent claim 1.

[0006] Furthermore, an improved method for producing a filter component is to be specified, in which the filter component is designed to be particularly compact. This object is achieved by a method comprising the steps of patent claim 12.

[0007] Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the filter component and of the method for producing the filter component are specified in the dependent claims.

[0008] According to one embodiment, the filter component comprises a printed circuit board with an electrical circuit applied thereto. The electrical circuit is, for example, a low-pass filter designed to filter high-frequency interference signals. In particular, the electrical circuit comprises a plurality of electronic components, for example electrical resistors and capacitors. Furthermore, the electrical circuit comprises at least one connection contact and one ground contact. The electronic components as well as the connection contact and the ground contact are preferably electrically connected to one another via conductor tracks on the printed circuit board.

[0009] According to a further embodiment, the filter component has a busbar. The busbar is particularly designed to carry a high electrical operating current. For example, the busbar is constructed for a continuous or variable operating current of at least 50 amperes. The busbar is, for example, a flat cable and preferably has at least one flat surface designed to form a borehole in the busbar. For example, the busbar has a rectangular or square cross-sectional area.

[0010] The busbar comprises, in particular, an electrically conductive material with low electrical resistance. For example, the busbar comprises a metal or is formed from a metal, for example, copper or aluminum.

[0011] According to a further embodiment, the filter component has a clamping plug connection. The clamping plug connection is arranged on the printed circuit board, electrically connected to the electrical circuit, and configured to electrically contact the electrical circuit with the busbar. In particular, the clamping plug connection is mechanically connected to both the printed circuit board and the busbar, as well as electrically conductively connected to the connection contact of the electrical circuit. Furthermore, the clamping plug connection is electrically connected to the busbar.

[0012] The mechanical and electrical connection between the busbar and the clamping plug connection can be reversible or, preferably, irreversible. For example, the clamping plug connection is designed to be plugged onto or into the busbar, thereby mechanically clamping the busbar in place. The clamping plug connection advantageously has a more compact design than, for example, a screw connection between the circuit board and the busbar.

[0013] According to a further embodiment of the filter component, the clamping plug connection comprises an electrically conductive pin that is pressed into a hole in the busbar, so that a force-fitting, electrically conductive connection exists between the electrically conductive pin and the busbar. The electrically conductive pin comprises, for example, a metal or is made of a metal. In particular, the electrically conductive pin is designed for a press-fit connection with the busbar.

[0014] Due to the high pressure applied during insertion, the electrically conductive pin can be locally welded to the busbar. This also creates a solid connection between the electrically conductive pin and the busbar.

[0015] A cross-sectional area of the hole in the busbar can have the same or a different shape as a cross-sectional area of the electrically conductive pin. In other words, the electrically conductive pin and the hole have the same or different cross-sectional contours. For example, the hole has a circular or oval cross-sectional area, while the electrically conductive pin can have a circular, rectangular, or square cross-sectional area.

[0016] For example, by pressing an electrically conductive pin with a rectangular cross-sectional area into a circular hole, a good contact can be advantageously achieved at a comparatively low pressing pressure.

[0017] Preferably, the metallic pin and / or the hole in the busbar is deformed during pressing in, so that a permanent, mechanical and electrically conductive connection exists between the metallic pin and the busbar. In particular, a maximum diameter of the electrically conductive pin in a contact area with the busbar before pressing in is slightly larger than a maximum diameter of the hole in the busbar. Here and in the following, the maximum diameter refers in particular to a linear dimension of the cross-sectional area in a direction in which the linear dimension is greatest. For example, the maximum diameter of the electrically conductive pin in the contact area is one to ten percent larger than the maximum diameter of the hole. Pressing the electrically conductive pin into the hole thus creates a low-resistance, electrically conductive and mechanical connection.

[0018] The hole in the busbar can be designed, for example, as a through hole or as a blind hole. The blind hole does not completely penetrate the busbar, while the through hole completely penetrates the busbar.

[0019] The cross-sectional area of the electrically conductive pin is preferably smaller than the cross-sectional area of the busbar. The electrically conductive pin is designed to divert an electrical current of the interference signal. The electrical current of the interference signal is, for example, many times smaller than the operating current carried by the busbar. In particular, the cross-sectional area of the electrically conductive pin can be adapted to the small electrical current of the interference signal.

[0020] According to a further embodiment of the filter component, the electrically conductive pin is plastically or elastically deformable in the contact area with the busbar. For example, the electrically conductive pin is slotted in the contact area, so that the cross-sectional area of the electrically conductive pin is larger in the contact area than in the remaining area of the electrically conductive pin. The electrically conductive pin pressed into the hole is, in particular, plastically or elastically deformed in the contact area, thereby creating a force-fitting and electrically conductive connection between the busbar and the clamping plug connection.

[0021] According to a further embodiment of the filter component, the electrically conductive pin is pressed into a through-hole in the printed circuit board, so that a force-fitting, electrically conductive connection exists between the electrically conductive pin and the through-hole.

[0022] The through-hole is in particular a hole in the printed circuit board. This hole is lined with an electrically conductive material, wherein the electrically conductive material is electrically connected to the electrical circuit, for example via conductor tracks on the printed circuit board. The electrically conductive pin is preferably designed in a contact area with the through-hole in a similar way to that in the contact area with the busbar. In particular, the electrically conductive pin pressed into the through-hole is plastically deformed in the contact area with the through-hole, so that a low-resistance electrically conductive and mechanical connection exists between the electrically conductive pin and the through-hole.

[0023] According to a further embodiment of the filter component, the electrically conductive pin has at least one element for limiting the press-in depth. In particular, the element for limiting the press-in depth is designed as a depth stop. The element for limiting the press-in depth can be formed on a side of the electrically conductive pin facing the busbar and / or on a side of the electrically conductive pin facing the printed circuit board. The element for limiting the press-in depth is designed in particular to determine the maximum press-in depth of the electrically conductive pin in the hole in the busbar and / or in the through-plating of the printed circuit board. For example, the depth stop formed at both ends of the electrically conductive pin can be used to precisely adjust a distance between the busbar and the main surface of the printed circuit board. For this purpose, the electrically conductive pin is pressed into both the busbar and the printed circuit board to the maximum insertion depth, for example, whereby the maximum insertion depth is determined by the depth stop.

[0024] For example, the electrically conductive pin has at least one shoulder as a depth stop, wherein the shoulder rests directly on a surface of the busbar after the electrically conductive pin has been pressed into the hole in the busbar. Thus, the shoulder resting on the surface of the busbar prevents the electrically conductive pin from being pressed even deeper into the hole in the busbar.

[0025] Furthermore, the electrically conductive pin can have at least one shoulder as a depth stop, wherein the shoulder rests directly on the main surface of the circuit board after the electrically conductive pin has been pressed into the through-hole of the circuit board. In particular, the shoulder resting on the main surface of the circuit board prevents the electrically conductive pin from being pressed even deeper into the through-hole.

[0026] Furthermore, the element for limiting the press-in depth allows the plastically or elastically deformable region of the electrically conductive pin to be arranged centrally in the busbar and / or centrally in the printed circuit board. In other words, the element for limiting the press-in depth is designed so that the plastically or elastically deformable region of the electrically conductive pin is arranged in the center of the busbar or in the center of the printed circuit board after pressing in.

[0027] For example, the depth stop prevents the plastically or elastically deformable area of the electrically conductive pin from being pushed through the busbar or the circuit board. The element for limiting the insertion depth can thus ensure optimal mechanical and electrical contact between the electrically conductive pin and the busbar or the circuit board.

[0028] According to a further embodiment of the filter component, the two ends of the electrically conductive pin are of identical design. In other words, the electrically conductive pin has the same shape and / or dimensions on a side facing the busbar and on a side facing the circuit board, within the scope of manufacturing tolerances. This advantageously allows the clamping plug connection to be designed to be particularly compact.

[0029] Alternatively, the electrically conductive pin can have a different shape and / or different dimensions at the two opposite ends. Thus, the shape and / or dimensions of the electrically conductive pin at the two opposite ends can be adapted, for example, to the respective mechanical properties of the busbar or the circuit board.

[0030] According to a further embodiment of the filter component, the clamping plug connection comprises a spacer that forms a mounting space with the circuit board and the busbar. The spacer preferably comprises or consists of an electrically insulating material. The electrically insulating material is, for example, a polymer.

[0031] The busbar is, in particular, arranged at a distance from a main surface of the printed circuit board. For example, the spacer determines a distance between the main surface of the printed circuit board and the busbar. The installation space is, in particular, an intermediate space between the main surface of the printed circuit board and the busbar. For example, the components of the electrical circuit are arranged in the installation space. The spacer is preferably arranged around the electrically conductive pin and can form electrical insulation for the electrically conductive pin in the installation space.

[0032] The spacer can also be designed to mechanically stabilize the clamping plug connection. For example, the spacer prevents the electrically conductive pin from bending during operation of the filter component or when being pressed into the busbar and / or the circuit board.

[0033] According to a further embodiment of the filter component, a magnetic toroidal core is arranged in the installation space, surrounding the busbar. The magnetic toroidal core is galvanically isolated from the busbar and the electrical circuit. Furthermore, the magnetic toroidal core is mechanically connected to the circuit board, for example, via a transport lock.

[0034] The magnetic toroidal core can, for example, have an oval or flat-oval design. In other words, the magnetic toroidal core has an oval or flat-oval cross-section in a plane perpendicular to the main axis of the magnetic toroidal core. Here and in the following, the main axis of the magnetic toroidal core refers to an axis through a center of the magnetic toroidal core, which axis runs along a hole in the magnetic toroidal core. By means of a flat-oval design, a cross-sectional area of the hole in the magnetic toroidal core can be adapted, for example, to a rectangular cross-sectional area of the busbar. The filter component therefore advantageously has a more compact design. According to a further embodiment of the filter component, the busbar is arranged in a plane parallel to a main surface of the printed circuit board. For example, the filter component has at least two magnetic toroidal cores arranged coaxially on the circuit board, so that the busbar penetrates the magnetic toroidal cores along their common main axis. The main axis of the magnetic toroidal cores is arranged parallel to the main surface of the circuit board.

[0035] According to a further embodiment of the filter component, the cross-sectional area of the busbar is at least 5 square millimeters. In particular, the cross-sectional area of the busbar is so large that electrical contact between the busbar and the electrical circuit cannot be established by a soldered connection. For example, the soldering heat dissipation through the busbar is so great that forming a soldered connection is impossible.

[0036] According to a further embodiment of the filter component, components of the electrical circuit are arranged on a main surface of the printed circuit board opposite the busbar. In particular, none or only some of the components of the electrical circuit are arranged in the installation space between the busbar and the printed circuit board. This means that, for example, a plurality of magnetic toroidal cores can be arranged in the installation space with a smaller spacing and therefore with a higher packing density. This advantageously shortens, in particular, an installation length of the filter component in a direction parallel to the main extension direction of the busbar. According to a further embodiment, the filter component additionally has an electrically insulating potting which encloses at least the busbar, the magnetic toroidal core and the printed circuit board and is designed to mechanically stabilize the filter component. In particular, only the connection areas of the busbar and the ground contacts of the electrical circuit remain free of the electrically insulating encapsulation. The electrically insulating encapsulation preferably also encloses magnetic toroidal cores, which are mechanically attached to the circuit board, for example, using the transport lock. The electrically insulating encapsulation is thus particularly designed to provide a vibration-proof and / or shake-proof mechanical connection of all parts of the filter component, as well as to electrically insulate the filter component.

[0037] Since the encapsulation is designed to mechanically stabilize the filter component, the electrically conductive pin can have a particularly small cross-sectional area, which is particularly not designed for a permanent mechanical connection between the circuit board and the busbar. Thus, the clamping plug connection can have a small design, which advantageously gives the filter component a compact construction.

[0038] The filter component described here is used in particular for at least partially suppressing electromagnetic interference signals in an electric current which, during operation of the filter component, flows through the

[0039] busbar flows. Furthermore, a method for producing a filter component is specified. In particular, a filter component described here can be produced by the method. Thus, all features of the filter component are also disclosed for the method for producing the filter component, and vice versa.

[0040] According to one embodiment of the method for producing a filter component, the printed circuit board with the electrical circuit and the clamping plug connection applied to the printed circuit board is first provided. The clamping plug connection is electrically connected to the electrical circuit.

[0041] According to a further embodiment of the method, the busbar is aligned relative to the clamping plug connection. In particular, the electrically conductive pin of the clamping plug connection and the hole in the busbar are aligned with each other such that the electrically conductive pin can be pressed into the hole.

[0042] According to a further embodiment of the method, the clamping plug connection is pressed into the busbar to establish electrical contact between the busbar and the electrical circuit. In particular, the electrically conductive pin of the clamping plug connection is pressed into the hole in the busbar in such a way that the electrically conductive pin is elastically or plastically deformed in a contact area with the busbar. This creates a force-fitting, mechanical and low-resistance, electrically conductive connection between the busbar and the clamping plug connection. According to a further embodiment of the method, a magnetic toroidal core is arranged on the circuit board and mechanically fixed, and the busbar is guided through the magnetic toroidal core before being aligned relative to the clamping plug connection.

[0043] Furthermore, the busbar is arranged parallel to the main surface of the circuit board and runs along the main axis of the magnetic toroidal core through its center. The magnetic toroidal core remains galvanically isolated from the busbar and the electrical circuit.

[0044] The magnetic toroidal core is mechanically connected to the circuit board, the spacer and / or other frame parts, preferably via a transport lock, after the busbar has been guided through the toroidal core. The transport lock is designed for temporary mechanical fixation, at least until the filter component has been finished. A permanent mechanical connection of the magnetic toroidal core to the circuit board is achieved, for example, by an electrically insulating potting compound with which the filter component is potted. The transport lock is preferably smaller in size than a permanent connecting element. The entire filter component therefore advantageously has a more compact design.

[0045] According to a further embodiment of the method, the filter component is encapsulated with the electrically insulating encapsulation after the clamping plug connection has been pressed in. The electrically insulating encapsulation comprises, for example, a casting resin and is designed in particular for mechanical stabilization of the filter component and for improved heat dissipation.

[0046] Further advantageous embodiments and developments of the filter component and of the method for producing a filter component emerge from the exemplary embodiments described below in conjunction with the figures.

[0047] Figure 1 shows a schematic sectional view of a filter component according to an embodiment.

[0048] Figures 2 to 5 show schematic perspective representations of filter components according to various embodiments.

[0049] Figures 6 and 7 show schematic sectional views of stages of a method for producing a filter component according to an embodiment.

[0050] Figure 8 shows a schematic perspective view of a part of an electrically conductive pin of a filter component according to an embodiment.

[0051] Identical, similar, or functionally equivalent elements are provided with the same reference numerals in the figures. The figures and the relative sizes of the elements shown in the figures are not to be considered to scale. Rather, individual elements may be shown exaggeratedly large or small for better illustration and / or better understanding. The filter component according to the embodiment in Figure 1 has a printed circuit board 1 with an electrical circuit 2 mounted thereon. A clamping plug connection

[0052] 4 establishes a mechanical contact between the printed circuit board 1 and a busbar 3 running parallel to a main surface 10 of the printed circuit board. Furthermore, the clamping plug connection 4 is designed to establish an electrically conductive connection between the busbar 3 and the electrical circuit 2 on the printed circuit board 1. The electrical circuit 2 is designed to at least partially suppress interference signals in an electrical current that flows through the busbar during operation of the filter component.

[0053] The clamping plug connection 4 comprises an electrically conductive pin 5 and a spacer 7. The spacer 7 partially surrounds the electrically conductive pin 5 and is designed to electrically insulate the electrically conductive pin 5 in a region between the busbar 3 and the printed circuit board 1. Opposite end regions of the electrically conductive pin

[0054] 5 are free of the spacer 7 and are designed for electrical contacting of the busbar 3 and the electrical circuit 2 on the printed circuit board 1. The spacer 7 stabilizes the electrically conductive pin ft

[0055] 5 mechanically and prevents bending of the electrically conductive pin 5 .

[0056] The electrically conductive pin 5 is in particular inserted into a hole

[0057] 6 is pressed into the busbar 3. Here, the hole 6 is designed as a through hole 6 that completely penetrates the busbar 3. By pressing the electrically conductive pin 5 into the hole 6, a mechanical, force-fitting, and electrically conductive connection is created between the busbar 3 and the electrically conductive pin 5.

[0058] In particular, the electrically conductive pin 5 is plastically or elastically deformable in a contact area with the busbar 3. For example, the electrically conductive pin 5 is slotted in the contact area and, before being pressed in, has a slightly larger maximum diameter than the hole 6 in the busbar 3.

[0059] Furthermore, the electrically conductive pin 5 is mechanically and electrically connected to the circuit board 1 via a through-hole 11. For example, the electrically conductive pin 5 is secured in the through-hole 11 by means of a solder connection or a press-fit connection.

[0060] The spacer 7 is further configured to define a distance A between the main surface 10 of the printed circuit board 1 and the busbar 3. This creates, in particular, an installation space 8 between the printed circuit board 1 and the busbar 3. Components of the electrical circuit 2 and a magnetic toroidal core 9 are arranged in the installation space 8. The components of the electrical circuit 2, or at least some of them, can also be arranged on a main surface of the printed circuit board 1 facing away from the installation space 8.

[0061] The magnetic toroidal core 9 is mechanically fixed to the circuit board 1 by a transport lock 12 and surrounds the busbar 3. In particular, the busbar 3 penetrates the magnetic toroidal core 9 along its main axis 13. The magnetic toroidal core 9 is galvanically isolated from the busbar 3 and from the electrical circuit 2.

[0062] The exemplary embodiment in Figure 2 shows a filter component which, in contrast to the filter component in Figure 1, has three magnetic toroidal cores 9 which are arranged coaxially and mechanically fixed to the printed circuit board 1 by means of transport locks 12. The magnetic toroidal cores 9 enclose two busbars 3 which are each connected to the printed circuit board 1 and the electrical circuit 2 arranged thereon via three clamping plug connections 4. The two busbars 3 are part of a closed circuit, the electrical current in the two busbars flowing in opposite directions during operation.

[0063] Components of the electrical circuit 2 are arranged, in particular, on a main surface of the printed circuit board 1 opposite the busbar 3. This leaves the installation space 8 free of components of the electrical circuit 2, allowing a higher packing density of the magnetic toroidal cores 9 to be achieved. Thus, the filter component advantageously has a small extension in a direction parallel to the main extension direction of the busbars 3. Ground contacts 14 are configured for external grounding of the filter component.

[0064] Figure 3 shows a further perspective view of the filter component according to the embodiment in Figure 2 in a top view of the main surface 10 of the printed circuit board 1. In particular, Figure 3 shows the six electrically conductive pins 5 of the clamping plug connections 4, which are pressed into six corresponding holes 6 in the two busbars 3.

[0065] In contrast to the embodiment of Figures 2 and 3, the filter component according to the embodiment of Figures 4 and 5 has an electrical circuit 2, the components of which are arranged in the installation space 8 between the busbar 3 and the printed circuit board 1. In particular, no components of the electrical circuit are arranged on the main surface of the printed circuit board 1 opposite the busbar 3. As a result, the filter component advantageously has a low overall height in a direction perpendicular to the main extension plane of the printed circuit board 1.

[0066] Figure 4 shows a side view of the filter component, while Figure 5 shows a perspective view, wherein one of the two busbars 3 is not shown for clarity. The electrically conductive pins 5 are slotted in the contact area with the busbar 3. By being pressed into the busbar 3, the electrically conductive pins 5 are plastically deformed in the slotted area and thus form a particularly good electrical and mechanical contact with the busbar 3.

[0067] Figure 6 shows a stage of the filter component after a method step according to an exemplary embodiment, in which the magnetic toroidal core 9 has been pushed onto the busbar 3 and the busbar 3 has been aligned relative to the clamping plug connection 4. In particular, the busbar 3 is guided parallel to the main axis 13 through the magnetic toroidal core 9 and aligned such that the electrically conductive pin 5 can be pressed into the hole 6 in the busbar 3. In particular, the hole 6 in the busbar 3 is designed as a blind hole that does not completely penetrate the busbar 3.

[0068] Figure 7 shows a schematic representation of the filter component after a further process step, in which the electrically conductive pin 5 of the clamping plug connection 4 is pressed into the hole 6 of the busbar 3 and the magnetic toroidal core 9 is mechanically fixed to the circuit board 1 via a transport lock 12. For mechanical stabilization and electrical insulation, the filter component is preferably enclosed in an electrically insulating potting in a further process step, wherein in particular only connection areas of the busbars 3 and ground contacts 14 (not shown here, see for example Figures 2 and 3) remain free.

[0069] The spacer 7 establishes a distance between the printed circuit board 1 and the busbar 3. Furthermore, the spacer 7 mechanically stabilizes the electrically conductive pin 5 and prevents bending of the electrically conductive pin 5 when pressed into the busbar 3. Furthermore, the spacer 7 can determine an insertion depth of the electrically conductive pin 5 in the busbar 3. In particular, the spacer 7 forms a depth stop for the electrically conductive pin 5.

[0070] Figure 8 shows one end of an electrically conductive pin 5 of a filter component according to an exemplary embodiment. The electrically conductive pin 5 has a mechanically deformable region 15 and a depth stop 16. The mechanically deformable region 15 is slotted along a longitudinal axis of the electrically conductive pin 5 and is designed to be pressed into a hole 6 in a busbar 3 (not shown) or into a through-plating 11 of a printed circuit board 1 (not shown).

[0071] The depth stop 16 comprises two shoulders arranged next to the mechanically deformable region 15. The depth stop 16 can also have only one shoulder. The two shoulders are arranged offset backwards with respect to the mechanically deformable region 15 in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the electrically conductive pin 5. In particular, the electrically conductive pin 5 can be pressed in to a press-in depth which corresponds to a distance between an end face of the mechanically deformable region 15 and an end face of the depth stop 16, i.e. an end face of the two shoulders.
