Track lighting methods and apparatus. In various examples, power and data are provided to a plurality of lighting fixtures via at least one pair of essentially rigid electrically conductive tracks that are mechanically coupled to an essentially rigid linear or curvilinear-shaped housing. The plurality of lighting fixtures includes at least one LED-based lighting fixture mechanically coupled to the housing, electrically coupled to the at least one pair of electrically conductive tracks, and configured to be responsive to the data.

A LED luminaire track lighting system includes an elongate track, having a number of longitudinal guideways, for attachment to a support surface, as well as a number of current conductors arranged within at least some of the guideways. The first of these conductors are power conductors and the second conductors are data conductors, the conductors being electrically isolated from each other. The lighting system further contains a first adapter for connection to a source of electrical power for the power conductors, and a second adapter for connection to a source of control data for application of data to the data conductors. There is at least one LED color-changing luminaire present in the system, and this luminaire contains a number of LEDs, each of which, when energized, generates a single color out of a discrete plurality of colors. A data converter converts data along the data lines to control the currents in the individual groups of color LEDs so that they create a desired composite color. Further, at least electrically, the LED color-changing luminaire is at least electrically connected to the power conductors and data conductors in the track.

An electrical track lighting system. The track lighting system includes a bendable track that includes a foamed adhesive strip on the upper surface separating two conductor rails. The track is cut to length and secured to the desired surface by the adhesive strip. Light fixtures having spring clip members with electrical contact surfaces engage onto the upper surface conductor rails of the track. Low voltage power is supplied to the track from an adhesive mounted transformer/dimmer switch through an adhesive backed power strip with adjustable angle snap connector.

A track lighting system wherein a module having a plurality of LEDs mounted thereto is placed within a channel shaped rail system, the module being positionable within the rail system. A first surface of a first printed circuit board (PCB) is positioned on the bottom surface of the rail system and a pair of parallel conductive members are positioned on the second surface of the PCB. The bottom surface of the module has a plurality of spaced openings through which are inserted input power detents which contact corresponding conductive members. The power detents are connected to a circuit which converts the 24 VDC power input to a constant current; the output of the circuit being coupled to a second PCB upon which is mounted the LEDs. Openings are formed in the sides of the rail system and detents, positioned on the sides of the module, engage corresponding openings formed in the rail system sides to lock the module in position within the rail system.

The suspended ceiling fan generates a sustained flow of air, which can be aimed at one spot, such as a person's face. In one embodiment, the suspended ceiling fan has an elongated member, a track connector, a swivel, and a fan unit. The elongated member has first and second opposing ends. The track connector is attached to the first end, and is adapted for attachment to an existing track, such as a track lighting system, or other support for a suspended lighting system. In one mode of operation the connector snaps into the track. In another embodiment, the ceiling fan comprises an adjustable arm having a hinged joint. The fan may be moved along the track and pivoted on the swivel to direct airflow in any desired direction.

A track lighting assembly includes a coupler to join tracks which is movable through a plurality of angles. The assembly also comprises an adapter which allows for flush mounting of the track wherein the fixture adapters may be moved along the track despite the flush mounting of the track.

A track lighting system which supports compact fluorescent lamp fixtures removably attached to a track member by a track adaptor. Compact fluorescent lamp fixture depends from a track adaptor by an adjustable suspended cable. Suspended cable provides electricity and mechanical support to a compact fluorescent socket and lamp. The track adaptor may also accommodate line voltage fixtures and allows a user to adjust the suspended cable by cutting the cable, stripping internal cable wires, then inserting internal wires into the track adaptor cavities and securing with securing screws.

A bendable line voltage track lighting system includes a track having a conductor subassembly and first and second bendable sheaths that engage the conductor subassembly. The conductor subassembly includes first and second insulators that receive first and second bus-bars, respectively, and a compression gasket for biasing the two insulators into engagement with guide grooves in the bendable sheaths. Power is fed to the track by power connectors that engage the bus-bars contained within the conductor subassembly. Light fixtures are powered by making electrical contact with the bus-bars of the conductor subassembly.

A recessed, adjustable, low voltage track light is shown comprising a recess housing made of any suitable material, and having one or more low voltage lighting rails fixed, or adjustably mounted, within the housing. One or more low voltage lamps can be mounted to the lighting rail or rails anywhere along their linear length. A low voltage power supply is electrically connected to the lighting rail or rails. An audio track system that includes a track mounting fixture for audio speakers including a sliding member to be mounted in a track lighting fixture and constructed to retain audio speakers. Contact members on the sliding member contact conductive strips within a channel on the track member and supply electrical connection of the speakers to a sound system receiver and allowing the speakers to be positioned at any desired position along the channel length. The speaker position may be adjusted easily by sliding the sliding member along the channel and by pivoting the speaker about a joint on the sliding member.

A track lighting fixture includes a rail unit, a slidable module, a rotatable module, and a lighting device. The slidable module is mounted on and is movable along the rail unit. The rotatable module is rotatably mounted to the slidable module and is rotatable about a rotation axis perpendicular to the rail unit. The lighting device is pivotably mounted to the rotatable module, is pivotable about a pivot axis that is perpendicular to the rotation axis, and includes a shade and at least one lighting element. The shade is pivotably mounted to the rotatable module, and the lighting element is disposed in the shade.
